First time visitors today, found them on tripadvisor myself. I wanted a cafe with homemade food for a lovely spot of lunch with my mum and daughter. Safe to say we were not disappointed! I called to ask if I needed to book and the lady was very helpful saying it can be very busy some days and not others so best to book anyway, so I booked for later on the same day. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and the table had been set out with a high chair for my daughter which I’d asked for which was great. Food was absolutely delicious fresh, tasty ingredients at really reasonable prices. There was a great children’s menu we could choose from for my 2 year old, with an activity sheet and crayons also provided. The service was amazing too, the young lady who now runs it was taking us through a little bit of the history which was very interesting as I’ve lived in Worksop for ever and never head of it! All of staff provided an efficient and friendly service. They even do a loyalty card scheme! We will absolutely be returning, and I would highly recommend Miss Poppys Coffee Shop. Thank you 🙏 ☺️

Visit here regularly as it’s easy to meet up with friends. The food is a bit hit and miss basic things for example choosing a panini with cranberry on it and finding the thinnest scraping of sauce, come on if your charging decent prices, but decent ingredients in, so then you have to ask for more! The lasagna I’ve had a couple of times first time beautiful 2nd tasted dry and old. Good selection of cakes. The service is very good. Nice menu plenty of choice, just need to improve things slightly. Average but could be great.

Afternoon tea( fresh). 16.95 per person, went for my friend's birthday I was treating her! Been many times and was lovely....however today was very different. We arrived and it said on our booking we had egg allergy explained we had no allergy and there must be a mix up so there was a slight delay for our afternoon tea to come out.sandwhiches were very very dry, scorch eggs had gone over and sausage roll was terrible...we tried our homemade scones supposedly fresh,, were rock hard. Let them know it wasn't fresh at all...they offered us a free scone which had just come out of oven as a sorry...and knocked 10.00 of bill...deffinatly not fresh or enjoyable at all! Dissapointed

This used to be the best place in Worksop with the best food and an incredible atmosphere. Unfortunately it's been ruined since the new management took over and the food is now like everywhere else, it's deafeningly loud to the level where the young staff can't even hear themselves and the atmosphere has gone. It could have been brilliantly updated and instead it's now a no go. A massive shame - the family have been regulars. We have shared feedback and they are not interested in it. Unfortunately what has happened to Miss Poppies is now word of mouth not in a good way. Really sad. I adored this place and now have to go elsewhere since it reopened.

Whenever my wife and I Worksop we never fail to have lunch at the best café/restaurant in a most unusual place. To find it, if you’re out of town, park near the Savoy Cinema. Then cross a road and go into the big furniture shop EYRES. Walk to the far end and find the service lift. The doors are the old-fashioned type where you have to open two, and the quite heavy, but if you are finding it difficult to walk I don’t suggest taking the steep stairs to the first floor.Miss Polly’s lives by its wonderful reputation. It is a word-of-mouth café which does excellent lunchtime restaurant food. The prices are extremely reasonable. The staff are very amenable. You will be delighted by the placemats and the pictures on the wall and China which all have a theme of delicate red poppies. The seating is very serviceable and the tables are quickly cleaned so you don’t need to worry about going to a vacant table where the clients have just left.My wife and I went there again the other day and she had an extremely good Special-mince pie with chips and peas. I had a piping hot lasagna in a dish with some salad and peas and wedges. This was followed by a very tasty rhubarb crumble with ice cream. While I was waiting for the food to be served I started to read one of 3 newspapers provided. But it came quickly and so I never got a chance to even glance at the inside headlines. Our main meals were delicious. There was so much that both of us did not finish our plates. We had a big pot of tea between us and the whole lot came to £18. No wonder this is a pensioners’ venue of choice. The lunches are always consistent in quality and the prices are always affordable. There is a good menu which includes the opportunity just to have tea and cakes. Go there. You will not regret it.

Tucked up inside Eyres furniture shop is a quiet, quaint little coffee shop offering good food, cakes, coffee, breakfast is served until 11.30am then dinners start. I've been going to miss poppy's for at least 15 years and it has never changed, it's a lovely quiet place friendly atmosphere as in the bane there is plenty of poppy's on display. There is not a lot of tables and it gets very busy at times I would recommend you book a table if you don't want to wait. You have to wait to be seated which is nice, they gave papers to read if your just having a quick coffee or tea. There is two big car parks nearby and disabled spaces outside across the road. After your visit you can look around eyres which has lots of home furniture, beds. I would highly recommend a visit here if your in worksop one of the best coffee shops.

Not a bad atmosphere as you walk through the door, although it took a few minutes for them to realise I was there, luckily the TV was on current affairs. Some tables still had dirty plates on them. Ordered a large sandwich and was asked if I wanted extras on, (egg was mentioned but I didn't get any). The sandwich was well worth the money (£4.60) as it was really full. Negatives were: bread was soggy but this was due to everything inside, eg coleslaw, salad cream etc. This also meant the sandwich fell to bits so I had to eat it with fork. They used clingfilm instead of foil/paper to wrap, this added to the mess when it was unwrapped. Big one for me was the lady DID NOT use gloves, I mentioned this and she said that she had just washed her hands, the clothes she was wearing were really dirty which did not fill me with joy. Overall the sandwich filled me up, the staff was kind and helpful but I won't return as I prefer cleanliness above all else.

This pub is a tale of two halves. The decoration & ambiance of the pub is lovely, loos are clean and ample parking. The pub was wonderfully dog friendly & the lady behind the bar & taking food orders was wonderful, friendly and vey helpful, the drinks were great and amazingly cheap.....However..... I'm afraid the whole evening was ruined by the food. I ordered the Fillet steak, medium rare @ £25.00 (not expensive), I asked for side salad instead of onion rings, mushrooms & toms. No sauce. What arrived was a very small sirloin (poss rump) steak, 1/2 " thick with a good 1" of unrendered fat down one side and over cooked. Plus a side of pepper sauce I never ordered. I questioned if the order had been taken down wrong or misread but I was assured that the Chef says The steak is definitely fillet! & the sauce is complimentary!..... I am not a butcher but I do know what a Fillet cut looks like !!! This was NOT. I was on a date with my partner so didn't want to complain, or embarrass him, but I feel bad that I allowed him to pay for something I definitely didn't have! I ate the meal which was edible but not what it was meant to be. The couple on the table behind us had a lengthily argument with the chef about his steak, sent one back & refused to pay for the second!! I don't mind if things aren't available or the kitchen is short staffed. I don't care of orders are taken or read wrongly BUT to be LIED to is unforgiveable. If I was there on my own I would not have accepted my meal. That said, my boyfriend's Faggots were lovely.......In short, A lovely pub for a cheap drink.......just don't have high expectations of the food.
