Cafe De Bella in Bassetlaw

My Wife and I are regular customers of this fantastic establishment, it’s that good, we travel 17miles round trip just to eat there, it’s always, clean, comfortable, the staff are friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble, a special mention for Ruby, no matter how busy she is or how unwell she feels she always greets you with a smile and asks how you are, professional and a credit to her employer, thank you all for always being the best in Retford 😉

Regular here when i come to retford the food is great the staff are always helpful and its one of the only places food served on a hot plate so doesn't loose heat as quick and i travel from castle donnington teice a week

Thinking of coming back anyone aware if they would allow a small dog to sit under the table whilst me and a friend eat

I ordered spaghetti Bolognese, what I received was a bowl of concealed slime , will not be wearing there again, no-one came to our table to see if everything was okay, left in disgust

Visiting Retford for the morning- literally stumbled across the cafe wanting a drink and pleasantly surprised! Great service and food😊 felt unique - better than a Costa!

Lovely breakfast been a couple of times and had the veggie option , it is easy to just pop in as it is central to shops and ready in no time , friendly clean and just yummy .

Stopped in Retford for some lunch in the way to Yorkshire dales. Could not believe this place is cash only, who uses cash these days,didn't know where a cash machine was nearby so found somewhere in the 21st century

I sware the shepherds pie here amazing service was on point and tbf value for money here 👍

The salads aren't as big as they used to be and what has happened to the milkshakes? They used to be the best in town now they're tasteless. Plus in this day and age all places should have a card machine but not at Cafe De Bella. What's the reason behind it being cash only?!! 🤔

A great welcome. Apple pie perfect. Frankfurters , onion, burger egg and chips wow. All on one level. Accessible toilet.

I wasn't happy sitting at a dirty table where i put my sleeve into some sort of sauce. Had to ask the girls twice to get it cleaned. The food on this occasion was great. The panini I ordered was full with plenty of chips and a very fresh salad. My very fussy 6yo had nuggets and chips from kids section. What arrived could easily feed an adult but amazingly he ate it all. So he would give 10/10 on those! Mrs had jacket potato with tuna filling, she said it was average though again that salad that came was great. It was for us reasonably priced before we saw the portions so it is value for money. Definitely will be going back to explore more of the menu.

It’s been a few years since we had food in this rather nice well presented cafe. The food is freshly prepared & served to a clean table by cheerful staff. Still an excellent variety of choice on a colourful menu. We had a light lunch but all around were generous dinners & all day breakfasts. They looked very tasty & customers obviously enjoyed their meals. Thank you will return in the near future. Highly recommended.

Nice coffee. However scrambled eggs were tasteless! Suspect powdered eggs or battery eggs....there is no sense in this. Cash ONLY!

Always go to this cafe when I'm in Retford, food is lovely, service is quick, prices are good and the staff are all friendly, the boss is a nice guy and always chats with you.

I wouldn't give Moore than 3 sometimes order wrong don't get what u order last sat only go one knive and fork when there was 2 of us no spoons for the drinks

First and last visit to this place not exactly sure how they managed to get such good reviews not one to moan but... Café bella couldn't carryout a simple task like a ham and cheese omelette . Asked him to hold the the hash browns and replaced it with ham. The ham was just laid on the side of this flat omelette.not blended in . Then two huge pots of tomatoes arrived even though i asked for beans . With lightly tanned toast with the butter soaked in.terrible and im no connoisseur. Arrived home after this debacle and was violently ill . Sorry to say .... NO NO NO!!!!

Went today lovely clean place lovely polite staff very helpful, meal didn't take too long to come and the food was amazing, my son is a fussy eater and even he gave it the thumbs-up 👍 we live out of town this will be our new cafe to go to its well worth a trip to Retford 🙂

We had a delicious cup of Cappuccino and sat outside. The café is very spacious inside and when I visited the clean toilet, the meals being served looked scrumptious. Would definitely recommend it.

Hot chocolate was tepid, toasted sandwich was 2 slices buttered toast with cold tuna mayo placed in between the toast, not a pleasant experience.

Came this time last year, it was great. This time everything was frozen, hard to eat and just overall unpleasant. What happened?

This is my favourite place to go for a good meal, the food is always first class and the staff and owners are all really nice people. My 10 out of 10 place when I want something good to eat and drink.

popped to old retford town today, me and my wife decided to have some dinner at this café we hadn't tried it before but have walked past many times before to see it always heaving, we ordered two chicken burgers, chips, beans and coleslaw and for under £5 each it tasted great! chicken was cooked properly, chips was nice and the coleslaw was creamy and crunchy not watery and cheap. we will be coming back.

Popped into Cafe De Bella for some lunch while shopping in Retford , having been a couple of times as it is very good value for money and the variety of food is plentiful. Unfortunately on this occasion I was very disappointed. My partner ordered sausage and mash , and that’s exactly what came , no gravy or side dish of vegetables as stated in the menu . We voiced our disappointment and was offered gravy . My eggs had black bits on from a dirty pan , griddle . So unfortunately we won’t be going back .

Great menu covers many different foods, from Breakfast lunch and dinner, all casual menu cooked in house in kitchen open to the cafe.

Lovely, friendly service. Had a beautiful fresh, crunchy well presented salad. Just great all round.

Called in for lunch and we were (once again) impressed. This is our second visit to this cafe as Retford is not local to us. The staff were polite and efficient. As they were youngsters you don't always get the friendly chatty part but what more can you ask for but polite and efficient. The food was plentiful and presented nicely. The tables are not cramped together and it was clean.

Excellent Coffee - Friendly Staff. Café is small and can get busy but worth the wait. Food is not cheap but it is all 'homemade' so you don't get the mass produced prices but you do get flavour.

Fantastic menu choice good prices

This place has the biggest menu to choose from and very tasty food and lots of tables. A bit of a que to get in at peak times but worth the wait.
