I very nearly gave 5 stars! Unfortunately it wasn't perfect, or rather I like to reserve 5 stars for something truly excellent; but this was still very good. My dad had taken some medication earlier in the day and couldn't eat any food until 6 pm. We requested (when we ordered - at about 5:30) that the food come out after 6. Our meals came out, perfectly timed at just turned 6:01, which was impressive. There were a decent amount of veggie options, and the food was delicious; with generous portions on some dishes. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and jokey, which was a nice touch. We went on Halloween, and they were all dressed up in elaborate costumes (especially the man covered head to toe in red face paint!). Also, the building is lovely - although requires some ducking if you're tall - and the atmosphere in the rooms was cosy. The WiFi was reliable and easy to connect to, and food prices were fairly good for these days. Unfortunately, when ordering, 2 of us asked for half-pints of a certain drink, yet they brought us pints, and charged us for the pints. Also another tiny criticism is that it would be good if the chips weren't pre-salted as there are salt grinders on the tables anyway. However overall I am enthusiastic about the Miners Arms and I would certainly return again if I am in the area.

We'd been to Perranporth for the morning and we were looking for somewhere for lunch when we came across the Miners Arms. It was very attractive, both inside and out, and we were soon shown to a table. As is often the case, I went for the steak pie, and Mrs Moose went for one of her favourites, lasagne. Both our meals were very tasty - we would definitely come back when next in the area. There was no room for any deserts and as Mrs Moose hadn't managed a cream tea during the week, we took a takeaway one when we left which we enjoyed back at our lodge.

I organised a group of 19 Rotarians from Truro to have our Christmas lunch here. It went very well. There was a varied Christmas menu, which suited everyone, and the price was very reasonable by today's standards - £25 for three courses plus mince pie and coffee/tea to finish with. All well prepared, and service was just right; we were not rushed, neither were there any long waits. We were there quite a while, and had time for festive frivolities! Ample parking facilities and a good choice of drinks at the cosy bar.

Upon arrival the venue seemed familiar, and with a bit of "brain searching" we realised we had come here several years earlier on a trip to Perranporth. The pub is still great, and I can see from my previous review that I am a creature of habit; once more having the fish pie. Other choices were equally good, the pie of the day (Steak and Ale), a lovely children's ham, egg and chips, as well as a vegan stew. The tribute was very nice!

We couldn't go in as it was lockdown. But we stayed nearby and this was recommended. I'm a fellow landlord and know how tough this has all been for us all in the trade. But I take my hat off to them. Our food was outstanding. Especially the hake main course. Ok. I don't like the overuse of sweet pea as a garnish on too many dishes, but put that aside and the flavours and plate build we're stupendous. Highly recommended from a grumpy landlord

Lovely old Cornish pub with nooks and crannies for food and drinks. Good menu, tasty food and good selection of beer although some real ales run out and I’ve been a couple of times when some draught beers have run out. There is a decent sized beer garden at front and back and service is swift and polite.Even though the pub is full of character, there is a dining area that is not and looks like a Little Chef. It is disappointing to go to the pub because of it’s character and charm and then have to eat and spend the evening in a section that is anything but. When booking a table, see if you can avoid being placed in the upstairs seating area.Other than that, it’s a great pub.

Ate here with family and I’d have to say this place is worth the short drive if you’re staying in St Agnes. They are managing COVID really well, with adequate table separation. All areas of the large establishment are pleasant. The Main courses were all superb, my Pork Belly and my partners Catch of the Day were 5-Star, my boys kids meals were also really good, my son loved his Pasta meal. The only thing making this review 4-Star and not 5 is the deserts we had. They were spectacularly terrible; the Meringue with Red Berries was a 1x supermarket meringue nest, with some cheap yogurt piled on top, with no more than a tablespoon of red berries, of unknown type, owing to them being defrosted frozen berries. My wife’s “local” cheeseboard was barely touched, I lack the energy to type up here how bad it was.! So a superb place, superb Starters/Mains, great Beer, too service - just avoid the puddings...

We finally went on holiday to Cornwall a couple of weeks ago. We had been to the Miners Arms before so we had deliberately chosen a place to stay that was in easy driving distance. Staff were polite. Covid-19 measures were being taken seriously. The food and choice was as good as the last time we went. In particular the vegetarian nut roast was delicious. It was nice to be able to order a sweet as a take away too, often we dont have a sweet but by having it as a take away it leaves us time to make space to eat it.Wishing the Miners Arms and staff all the best in these difficult times. Love this place. Quirky, old worldly interior, with little nooks and open fire places. Came for lunch and had the Aubergine Chilli. Good friendly service/ portion size/presentation, however, a bit confused, as found a Mexican style dish, but with 'Indian 'style accompliments i.e. poppadum./coriander dip. Although it tasted good enough, just didn't go for us. Would have preferred maybe some corn bread/nacho's, or salsa/guacamole. Didn't get it. Didn't think it went well. The day was saved by the most yummiest, Malteser Cheesecake. Soooo good. Like the fact that at least they try and be creative with their vegan/veggie dishes - and of course we'll be back.

Food was delicious and the specials were fab - can highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!! We spent so much of the evening sat enjoying a drink - or two... it was getting late and the waitresses offered to arrange us a taxi, but being bank holiday that was near impossible, so one of them dropped us back to save us the mile long pitch black walk!! We walked past the Miners Arms several times while staying nearby and decided it was the place to visit for an evening meal. This historic pub is situated in a 17th century listed building oozes in history, it is now a very popular pub and run just like it should be.With the Pandemic they have several outdoor locations / beer gardens but also indoors for a meal, you have to book as it gets very busy, social distancing and hygiene here are strictly adhered to.We sat in the upstairs dining room which was full but tables nicely distanced, we had a lovely meal / pub grub, good quality and large portions and a pint of local ale to wash it all down. The staff were so friendly and service was good. This is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Visited for an evening meal with my wife, son and daughter in law last week. Not the first time, as it is a favorite of said daughter in law, and again the food was excellent. Burgers are superb, washed down with a pint or three of Tribute and the Deserts are particularly good. It is extremely popular and busy but service in these difficult times was brilliant. We were warned that there would be a short wait for our food, but it was nothing worse than you would experience at most restaurants. The only down side, was the rude couple nearby who had a go at one of the young waitresses. Chill, and remember what a good job they and others in the hospitality industry are doing in such trying circumstances. Booking is essential and always has been.

We booked for an early Friday meal. The food was lovely, the staff were faultless & the organisation considering Covid was seamless. Very family friendly. I wouldn't call it extremely great value for money, as I found it a little on the pricey side, with the assumption that the establishment is likely forced to deliver a limited menu currently, but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of our evening.

Very nice pub grub. We both had hake and were pleasantly surprised at the nice presentation. The child’s meal of pasta with broccoli and cheese could have done with more broccoli and cheese in it.

Amazing pub with great choice of drinks (love my ales) and food. Staff were excellent and they have a good system in place for Covid. Highly recommend.

This place ticked all the boxes for us - a village pub serving delicious food with great service. Brilliant COVID measures in place which the friendly staff help you with on arrival. The whole experience was so good we returned the following day. There were five of us and between us we all had some variety of fish dish - whitebait, scampi, grilled mackerel, pan-fried hake, fish pie, beetroot cured salmon & prawns and fish n chips (the best I’ve ever tasted btw). All the fish tasted very fresh and cooked to perfection. Nice chips too

Just visited this pub and it was fantastic. Very Covid secure with all necessary precautions in place yet the service was exceptions, friendly, quick and welcoming. The Sunday roast was the best I have ever had eating out - my husband had the Cajun burger which he equally enjoyed and the deserts were awesome. Highly recommend and we will be back before the end of the holiday. Oh and not to mention extremely dog friendly.

First meal out on holiday and absolutely brilliant, 6 people at table all food turned up together and correct. Clearly the chef takes care in preparation of food and cooking it well. Portion sizes just right, drinks were quick to table (made father in law happy as I was driving). The staff who walk round in a circle all very friendly and welcoming especially the young dark haired girl who was amazing. Cannot rate this place high enough. Oh and they let dogs in as well.

We came here for dinner after calling and booking a table later that evening. In the middle of a small village, it had a big parking lot. Service was great and attentive. It was a Thursday evening, and several dishes were out of stock, so we ordered the Hogs Miners and Halluomi for starters, which was a good sizable portion, filled with a good amount of leafy vegetables as salad. For mains, I had the specials of fish cakes and my husband had the steak and ale pie, and we both loved it. Great sizeable filling portions, and presented prettily. In addition, they gave us a corner table in the dog-friendly area, which was really good. And gave our dog a biscuit which came with the bill (while we had chocolates), which was a nice touch. All in all, we would definitely come back here again!

Hidden away a few miles from St Agnes in a very small village. Plenty of parking to the rear with lighting of a night time. Rear garden area with seating for when the sun shines and a few benches in the front. Reasonable amount of seating inside but when we went in on a Friday get there early or book. Excellent service with a good bar atmosphere and they allow well behaved dogs inside. Good selection of draught beers and spirits all at reasonable prices. Had a three course and two course meal with two pints and two half’s and the bill was just £50. Can recommend their bread and butter pudding. Specials board also available. Very good toilets and clean. Easy access for wheel chairs and buggy’s. Definitely recommend if in the area or if you have time to drive. Definitely recommend and would live to return. Please like if this helped.

It’s not the first time that we’ve been to the minors arms. Once again we were not disappointed. There was plenty of choice and the food was delicious. Sitting in front of a roaring open fire was very comforting. The staff were very friendly and we will definitely be going again.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

What a gem! We had no idea where to go for lunch but chose the shed; a great choice! The steak was so good and the sole cooked to perfection. Great wine, appetisers and dessert to boot. Fantastic value and the service was great Thank you so much.
