The food is delicious, the wine is good and the staff is very friendly. Lovely decors just a little pricey. Never got an itemised bill so couldn’t check afterward what made it so expensive.

Charming, well established delicatessen and restaurant that always has an excellent selection of delicious food to eat in or take away. The standard of the food is always superb, reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly and efficient.

Ordered buffet food for a big meeting yesterday (24 people) WOW it was fab. A couple of us are a little fussy and can't eat certain items, Mimosa did not let us down they plated our sarnies up separately. The flapjack was sooo good nothing was left over we all went back for seconds & thirds :)

I was shocked yesterday to find that the Mimosa cafe, that looks so appealing in terms of decor and gives off an aura of Herne Hill bordering Dulwichness, with the most tasty food for takeaway, is really not good when it comes to customer service when you eat in. I have just seen another review making the same complaint as the one I was about to do: the person serving "forgot the order"! I waited about half an hour before asking if it might be coming soon. I never did get the glass of tap water I asked for along with the bean stew. Apologies and a free orange juice plus some over-heated food eventually did reach me, followed by a passive aggressive "well was it worth waiting for?". Shocked by the question I replied well actually no (as with the others who had the same problem, the food was okay nothing special). As I had already paid the option of not doing so was no longer on the table. Tip to anyone planning to eat there: make sure you don't pay till after the food arrives, in case it never does and you decide to leave rather than starve in silence. Or get it to take-away as in future I will be doing.

This well established deli has been around about two decades and sprang from a French Restaurant in Brixton. The deli is located near the Half Moon pub in Herne Hill. It is a cornucopia of fine food, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, sandwich fillings, wines and breads. It has fish snacks and some Asian snacks. It has a small area to have coffee and food and has an outdoor eating area. It has excellent food but being near to Dulwich tends to be a bit dear.

After an hour of waiting in this almost empty restaurant, I got up and said that we were getting hungry. Unbelievable but true, the waitress said she had forgotten to make our order. All she had to do was put the lasagne in the micro. Just what did she think we were waiting for? Full of apologies she produced our lunch in 5 minutes and to her credit, did not charge. I guess we all have off days...The food was ok but not worth waiting that long for.

My, hasn't Herne Hill come up in the world since last I lived here so, so many years ago. Now the middle and, no doubt upper-middle, class neighbours of these pleasant tree-lined streets have a cafe of such quality others should do well to mimic. Opposite are some quirky, highly individual shops, one, I kid you not, an illusionist. But, as for Mimosa, my large cappo and chicken and avocado baguette were no illusion. Along with a very tasty myrtle yoghurt I left there, taste buds tingling vowing one day to return or find its sister, and similarly smart, establishments. Could have done without the background radio competing against the hum of the nearby chiller cabinets. Not cheap, but not outrageous and you pay for quality, a really pleasant environment and service..

The bread was not tasty and unfriendly, the table and dishes were dirty, and a vacuum cleaner was used even though there were guests.

I really am struggling to say anything good about this place. The food is mediocre at best and service is non-existent. I would avoid at all costs
