Milton Tandoori in Havant

My partner and myself have just moved to Waterlooville and tried Milton tandoori as we like to have a curry every now and then it’s safe to say that this place did not disappoint. The food was very tasty and delivery was fairly quick and the food was still hot when it had a been delivered to us. We will be making Milton tandoori our new place to go when we want a takeaway curry.

We had a family birthday party at the Milton Tandoori on Saturday night . It was a great night. There were 15 of us. The food was really good, and great value. You can also take your own alcohol, which makes eating out much more reasonable. The staff are also super polite. Give it a try, you will be pleased.

Now my favourite place to eat indian food . Always a warm welcome and cheerful helpful staff . The food is always hot and freshly prepared . Reasonable prices and huge choice . We took our own drinks which kept costs down and we were offered the option of taking home the food we couldn't manage The portions are very generous and my garlic naan was the best I'd ever tasted .The restaurant area is small and basic but spotlessly clean and well laid out

Myself and my family visited last night as part of my birthday celebrations. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was delicious, portions were good and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back again soon.

We had a takeaway last night for 5 and it was excellent ....everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

1/3 of my order was missing, the next 1/3 was cold, and the other 1/3 was wrong! Won’t be coming back.

We had a take out and it was one of the worst Indian take outs we have ever had. Very expensive for a bad experience

The gentleman greeted us with a massive smile and chat. Very attentive to all our needs. Menu was very well priced and from ordering to serving food was quick turnaround. Restaurant was quiet but a lovely atmosphere. Between us we had a lovely vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Recommend the onion bhajis. We had 5 dishes for under £30 Overall, great little restaurant, good prices and food was so tasty.

We met some friends there this evening and had a wonderful time The food was amazing. Along with the staff. If you live in the area give it a try. Take away also available.

Best Indian around we’ve been using the Milton Tandori for the past 15 years never had a bad meal and you can take your own drink service is very friendly

Every time, been going for about 20 years, now live an hour away but like to bulk buy when we're in Waterlooville and keep some in the freezer

Just ordered a chicken balti, chicken tikka starter and garlic nan, absolutely amazing, chicken was moist and tasty, sauce was full of Flavour, first time I've had from this restaurant as I live in the town complements to the chefs

Its the best indian takeaway ever!

Horrible Horrible Horrible. Just ordered 30 quid's worth of takeaway and everything about the meal is second rate. The bhajis were cardboard, the prawns were chewy. My wife and I feared for out health after a couple of mouthfuls and have just stopped eating it. Everything seemed to be from yesterday or earlier in the week and re-heated. The food used to be brilliant and tasty now avoid it like you avoid someone with Covid-19. Their telephone manner can, at best, be described as rude

I have been going here for may be 20 years. The owner is very helpful and makes sure you are happy. The service is split into a takeaway and an attached seating restaurant, which was an addition some 15 years ago? Food is on the mild side of heat but great spice flavours. Portions are generous and the prices are good, plus you can take your own drink in and you will be offered glasses. Some of their dishes may look slightly different as they don't go mad with bright food colouring, but I always keep coming back as I know it will be a great meal. Thank you for your lovely food!

Great curry, bring your own booze makes it so cheap. Book in advance as the restarunt only has a few tables

Had chicken karma chicken was dry sauce like water lamb biriani was awful onion bhajee was dry nan bread like rubber £27down the drain worst meal I've ever had won't be going back their again

Had a meal in, 6 of us in total. Restaurant was fairly empty for a Friday night so nice and quiet and service was good. All other members of our party thought their food was lovely but I've had better, fresher, tastier curry's elsewhere.

I have always found the food to be very fresh and not oily, not a fan of my food swimming in oil. The service was very good. Not a loud atmosphere so you can easily have a conversation.

Absolutly love eating in in here. It's so nice and the staff are friendly. Byob but a shop next door if you forget!

Takeaway had Passanda was cold and no flavour, onion bahji was awful, greasy disappointed and will not use again.

I love this Indian restaurant. The menu is massive with fantastic choice. All sorts available. Whenever I've eaten here (many times), I've always enjoyed the taste and variety. Off again there in about an hour !

Good food, easy atmosphere. Food was fast, but the staff seemed to rush everything.

food was delicious. I love the chicken Tikka and my husband loved the butter chicken. They offered delivery. Although the driver got lost, it didn't have any impact on the flavor of our food. we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Third time using this place and standard was a little lower this time. Food took an hour to cook and meat was dry. Not at all like the last two visits. They seemed to be a little under staffed so will give it another go as food was good on previous occasions

I'll keep this fairly short. Been using this place for almost 20 years, served by the same man too. I have tried all the others in the area and this is by far the best in my opinion. Go for the Dhansak - it's amazing. Perfect portions, perfect quality, the others could seriously learn from Milton Tandoori. And their prices are so reasonable, no extra charge for rice on quite a few dishes. He doesn't deliver but I'd rather drive a few minutes for something good than get a sub-standard delivery order that I'm disappointed with - regrettably I have done this. I've not tried the restaurant but I imagine it's the same great food and service. Keep it going guys - get a website however, even if it's just your menu online!!

We often go to the Milton Tandoori which used to only do takeaway but then built an extension on the side and has a small restaurant with only about 25-30 seats. They have no licence for alcohol but you are welcome to take your own which makes it a good cheap night. The food here is plentiful, portion sizes are very generous and I often end up taking some of mine as 'takeaway'!! We have never had a bad meal here with our favourites being the Tandoori Mixed Grill, Chicken Shaslik, Dhansak, Jalfrezi and Bhuna. Our friends always have the Tandoori King Prawn and the Chilli Masala or Vindaloo Jamal and his brother are friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Good food. Friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant for the first time. Restaurant dated but comfortable. No alcohol served but you can bring your own. Co-op next door. Cash only. We would go back. We use it for take aways regularly, food always good. Again cash only.

Another wonderful evening with our 8 friends. Perfect venue, good food, good staff and no hassle. Excellent that you can take your own drink into the restaurant which is a blessing when a large group like this eat out together. Parking off road can be difficult now they have closed the nearby carpark for flats

Delicious food. Have takeaway from here on a fairly regular basis and always been great. Very tasty flavours and plenty of food for each dish

We've only ever had takeaways from here, so can't comment on the restaurant. The food is excellent, with good sized portions and very reasonable prices. The service is, and has always been, very friendly. The only small criticism we'd make is that sometimes the poppadums can taste stale, you can tell the oil has been used a little too much. It's not every time, and not the end of the world, but would be nice if that was fixed.

Worst I ever had totally flavourless!!!!!!

Terrible the order was wrong and when I called to ask them if I could collect what I actually ordered I was told no and the phone was put down on me and told the manager wasn't there. Wouldn't ever recommend nor would I ever eat there again

Great service, very welcoming and excellent food. They tailor our meals if needed, great portions too. We have been customers for many years.. even though we live 8 miles away now we still use this place as it's the best in the area.

Visitamos el fin de semana y tuvimos una comida excelente. Hemos usado el llevar antes y nos pareció uno de los mejores en la zona. Esta vez fuimos al restaurante, la comida tan buena y el servicio era muy bueno. No tienen bebidas licencia, pero puedes llevar tu propio y le ofrece vasos. Tienen refrescos, y no cobrar de más por estos.

He vivido en y alrededor de este restaurante sinced que abrió, hace más de 10 años, pero nunca lo probé.

Hemos estado viniendo aquí durante años y los alimentos gran pero el camarero poniendo más miserable con el tiempo. El chico joven intenta su mejor pero el tipo antigua necesita para trabajar en sus habilidades para la gente, él simplemente grunts y puntos y tiene su ojo en usted todo el tiempo su comer. La única vez que le vimos sonrisa cuando le dimos el dinero para la factura. La comida es genial, pero no iremos de nuevo debido a el camarero.

Esto hace que para una noche extraordinariamente económico, la comida es buenísima y en un entorno agradable limpio. Llevar tus propias bebidas toma un poco de planificación, pero incluso entonces hay una cooperativa fuera de la puerta siguiente licencia, pero lo hace de una velada encantadora, sin romper el banco. Proporcionan vasos de muchas formas y tamaños, y hay mucho espacio para poner su bolsa de frío, etc.

Waited over 40 minutes Was overcharged didn't get everything we ordered as food was in a box covered in newspaper and parcel tape so didn't check until got home 😡😡😡😡

Aweful food; rice wasnt hot, madras was as hot as a korma and what yandori dowsnt do popadoms, whatsmore they left half our order

The curry sauce was far too watery not worth the money.

Can't quite put my finger on it, but despite staffs best efforts, there is a distinct lack of atmosphere in here. Partially compensated by a diverse and delicious menu. Can take your own wine!

Not for the first time great food good prices and large portions don't know how they do it Will keep going back

I frequented this local takeaway and although the service was fine (nothing majorly bad) and very quick ,for the price I paid for the food we ordered the quality was far from good! Rice was cool and dry no moisture at all. Onion bhaji was dry and dripping with grease! Nann bread was dry yet the paper bag was soaked in grease the puppadums were stale and you could taste the grease it was cooked in! Overall not a pleasant experience.

Would give it less if I would. £50 of food worth £5 in quality, 0/10 would never buy again. Go to lovedean tandoori 100x better

had a chicken tikka madras from here and iv'e got to say that as a curry lover this has to rank as probably the best madras iv'e eaten....

This place is great for a reasonable priced meal. Large portions always served hot. Love the fact that you bring your own booze. Keeps the price affordable and therefore we use it regularly for mid week meals out Polite staff. :)

Milton Tandoori is my local takeaway. Have been going there for many years. Standard menu but I enjoy the Naga Chilli Tikka Masala. It is very nice providing you like the heat from the Naga chilli. Portion size is really good. We always have left over for lunch the next day. Quality of food is good, for a takeaway, it is good value for money.

Milton Tandoori don't have a licence for alcohol but you are allowed to take your own drink which makes it a cheaper evening, the staff are very friendly and the curry is the best in the area

I haven't dined in here, however, family members have and keep going back. We regularly purchase Take Outs from here. The value is very good and the quality is consistent.

We have visited this restaurant many times, you take your own drinks (glasses provided) the portions of food are very generous and we noticed several people taking home their leftovers in containers provided, although there are better, more expensive Indian restaurants in the area, this is definitely great value if you are watching the pennies.

Lovely restaurant. Food was served hot and reasonably quick. Unlike the shalimar up the road !! Like the idea of bringing your own alcohol ( beer or wine ).

A group of 17 of us for my brother-in-law's birthday had booked a table for a late Sunday afternoon. This was a first time visit to this mainly take-away restaurant that has only a small amount of tables in the restaurant. The big draw of this venue is that you are able to take your own alcohol, a bonus as we all know the cost of alcohol will substantially push up the final bill - not so on this occasion.We started with poppadums & chutneys - the poppadums a major let-down as they were soft. I suggest they were cooked hours earlier and left out as more were ordered and tasted exactly the same, this was not a good start.Various curries and side dishes ordered and the chef redeemed himself as the curries were tasty. I ordered the Korai tikka chicken with spinach, an excellent choice.The bill was very reasonable as the beers were our own. I will return and give them a second chance - hopefully the poppadums will be cooked to order!

We regularly order our curry takeaways from the Milton. It is always a tasty meal and large portions which are good value for money.

Really nice curry restaurant, a little more finesse added to the Take Away menu, serving staff excellent, especially with our children. Bringing our own drinks, was not too imposing and reduced the cost of the evening considerably. Co-op nearby if needed, but we arrived with supermarket bag of drinks.

Like the other reviews, this was not what I was expecting. I don't know why, so here we go. This was first time I've "Brought your own alcohol" to a restaurant, but having said that, you know what you like and you can't have any complaints about that. The staff were wonderful, catering for our party of 5, bringing endless dips and nibbles while the food was prepaired. Sampling dishes from Pathia, Dhansak and massala's, all were piping hot and as expected, with the right amount of spice and flavour. A Great nght out without breaking the bank.

Me and my family ordered a chicken tikki masala and a korma.The masala was a brown coloured sauce and had no taste apart from a few spice. I was always under the impression masala was a dark red type colour. The korma was spicier then the masala. I was very disappointed but the staff were lovely and very pleasant

The take away side of this premises is the only thing i can comment on as i really enjoy the amount of meat contained within the dishes ordered. The sauces are nice to. On occasions it has been a bit hit and miss i guess it depends on the chef at the time but on the whole I've had some good take away food from here. I havent sat in the small restaurant side but when i collect my food there always seems to be a few patrons being served.

I love this takeaway / Restaurant. They serve the best currys I have ever had. Whenever I have a curry somewhere else it never compares to this takeaway. The staff are friendly, service good and portions generous. I think it should be voted best Indian takeaway

This little take away ahs a small sit down restaurant attached to it which opened a few years ago. Initially just a take away which is always busy they branched out to provide a sit down service.The take aways we have had have always been nice nad hot, well cooked and with plenty of meat inside them. The cost is very reasonable and there is always a welcome from the the staff behind the counter.I havent eaten on the sit down side of the shop but must try this one day.In all a good take away with decent portions. It depends on the chef as to how its cooked and the taste does differ at times, but its always been decent.

We visit the Milton Tandoori regularly - great value for money, huge portions (the staff are always happy to bag up what you can't manage - makes great breakfast the next day) and the fact you can take your own alcohol in is great at keeping the cost down.When you look on face value and compare to the next closest curry house - Shalimar - you'd be tempted to go for it's competitor with it's lovely decor. But the food is far better at Milton Tandoori - don't be put off by the interior, the food is fab!

Whether eating in the restaurant or from the takeaway the food is really well prepared,well presented and you won't go hungry. The staff are friendly and attentive. You can take your own drink into the restaurant. The restaurant is smallish but has great atmosphere. This is somewhere I'd take friends to for a good evening. Highly recommended.

We eat here a lot. The food is lovely - I normally have a Patia or a Dansak but they do them Vindaloo hot for me - yummity yum yum. The prices are outstanding especially when you consider the portion sizes and you get to take what you don't eat home. It's a BYO drinks place so that also helps with the costs. I held a party here recently, nothing was too much trouble and my guests really enjoyed themselves - I think it cost me about £10 - 15 per person (see I said it was outstanding).

We went for a take away and changed our minds at the last minute.We were greeted by the proprietor and shown into the warm clean restaurant, there was background music enough for atmosphere but not over loud.Our food was excellent hot and fresh, service was second to none, nothing was too much trouble.When we had finished we were asked if we would like to take home the left overs which were then all packed up into containers and brought back to us in a carrier bag. We never felt rushed or hurried at all.You can take your own drink.

Have had several takeaways from Milton Tandoori and the food is consistently good. They have a restaurant too but never eaten there. Shame they don't deliver. Good value for money.
