The food is excellent with generous portions. The prices are seriously good value. We love the onion bhajis, the keema or peshwari naans. The chicken dhansak, prawn bhuna, chicken Rogan Josh, chicken jalfrezi and Chicken dopiaza are all amazing. We keep meaning to try new dishes, but these are so good we just stick to what we know and like. I'll also recommend the mushroom fried rice and the Chana Bhona (curried chickpeas). This place is an absolute find. Go. Try. Love.

Ordered a prawn curry with rice, got to the home it was ordered for, saw it was a chicken curry, called immediately got told I was wrong and that I got what I asked for, had this repetitive argument for 5 minutes for me to give up and contact trading standards because supposedly in 12 years the man has never made a mistake. More like he never admits he makes mistakes. Absolutely appalling service. 0 out of 5. Never again

Well I’ve love Indian food we all do been fed up with our local ones food not as good and getting exspensive but let me tell u we all loved our delivery tonight top food top service nice people on phone and very very reasonable all u other Indians u need to take a leaf out of there book first class we will be back many thanks well done to Lovedean tandoori ur the best !!!!!

I am rating this on behalf of my partner who cooks Indian food and says this is the best around the area and also the owner is very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

I go here every week when I can. Never disappointed , as the food and staff are first class and the menu is very reasonably priced ! Wouldn’t go anywhere else thank you.

We’ve just moved into the area. This place got good reviews so we have it a go. Very disappointed. The Nan bread we ordered didn’t turn up. The lamb starter was good but the butter chicken was awful. Tasted like chicken stew. Heavy gravy and no flavour. Won’t be trying it again.

Best takeaway in the area! The chicken dhansak is my favourite, portion sizes are always huge, you really get value for money! Always deliver quickly and the taste really cannot be beaten. Used this takeaway for the first time this week and my only regret is that I wished I had used them sooner! Absolutely fantastic, the service was fast, hot, great value and the best tasting curry I have had for a long time. Totally recommend. It will be my local from now on!!!

Wasn't impressed at all. Wife's Tikka massala looked like sweet and sour chicken and my Dhansak was in the bottom 3 curries I've ever had. Shame as it's so close to me, but back to the Shalimar we go

I eat here every week and it's where you'll get the best value for your money. Don't let the low prices fool you, the food is excellent. My favourite is the Chicken Dhansak!!

Having just moved we needed to find a good Indian Takeway, both close to the house and excellent in every way. Our first experience was this Tandoori and is the only one we will use. the food is great, the prices excellent and it is only a stones throw from the house...so food is always hot!!

Ordered the chicken dhansak and it was the best one I have had since leaving Pompey. Tried the local ones in Horndean and Clanfield but this is the best by far. Highly recommend. EDIT: Though very good food, the premises are filthy. Cobwebs and dirty decor. Dirty counter, dirty floors, windows etc. I bet the doors etc not washed in ages to. 5 star hygiene certificate but I am dubious about hygiene as you DO judge a book by its cover. From 5 star rating to 3.

We love a good takeaway in our family and love dean tandoori we have been using since it opened! The quality is amazing and the price is the best around. I even moved house n live a 2min walk from the shalamar but I’d rather hope in my car n drive down to get the best takeaway money could buy!!!

We have been to this takeaway for the past 5 years. Always really great food. Never had a bad meal out of all the meals we have ever eaten there. For fussy eaters like me, they are also really flexible if you want take some ingredients out ( I don't like onions so they always take them out!). They always deliver in good time too. I've tried other Indian takeaways in Horndean and Cowplain but this is by far the best. 100% recommended

I have passed by this take away for over 25 years, never really bothering to consider it. Until a friend recommended it to us. I can be quite fussy with take out food, and could definitely be blamed for judging 'books by covers' when it comes to the cleanliness and appearance of take aways. However, we did act upon our friends recommendation and didn't regret it one bit! We have since used Lovedean Tandoori many times. The food was EXCELLENT and the service matched this too. Prices were very good given the excellent meal and portion sizes were great. Once you try it you'll love it!

Lovely takeaway. Very local to me but I think it is the best in the area Excellent quality and fantastic value. Just be warned the jalfrezi is delicious but is full of chillies and is very hot

This has got to be the best take away in Horndean, Lovedean & Waterlooville. Their Chef's Special Murgh Rezala is curry heaven. Pity it's just a take away.

I had family round (5 adults in total) and everyone enjoyed their food. The prices are fantastic (£41 for 5 meals, also naans and onion bhajis). The price is kept down as most dishes include pilau rice and i think a large poppadom is also given away with each main meal. Portion sizes are really good (onion bhajis are the size of a tea plate!!) The only thing i didn't like, was that the mint raita was florescent pink/orange! I've no idea why they would do that, it tasted fine though. I'll definitely go back.

Food is first class. Always lots of meat in the meals, good size portions and a good variety of dishes. Standard of food is always consistent.

We have been using this takeaway on a weekly basis for 10 years plus, it having been recommended to me by someone who had already been using it for years. Between our family of 4 (all now adults) we must have had almost every dish on the menu at some time or another and have never been disappointed. Food is always of a good standard, very tasty, and portion sizes are excellent. The only reason I haven't reviewed it before is that I hadn't realised it was on Trip Advisor. Worth noting it isn't open on Mondays (it is if a Bank Holiday), and is open on Sundays.
