Lovely restaurant with a great view of the cathedral . Food was excellent, restaurant was lovely and clean all staff were friendly and helpful

I had a meal at Miller and Carter for the first time earlier tonight, and it was fantastic. The service was top notch. Our server Maggie, was outstanding. Me and my partner are into our wines so she did a great job helping us pick out what paired best with our meal. She also gave us loads of useful info about the different steak cuts, how they should be cooked, and really took the time to walk us through it all, which was much appreciated. The high level of training the staff go through is apparent. The food was spot on, especially the calamari. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to others.

Visited on a busy Saturday night, family of 6. All started off well, we were seated quickly, drinks order and starters order taken quickly. But it all went downhill after the starters. We waited 45 minutes for the main courses which was just too long. In this time we were not attended to once, we wanted more drinks but had to attract the attention of a server that was not our own to get them. After the main course we wanted more drinks and at least 3 of the party wanted deserts, but again noone came. We tried to get the attention of the server on several occaions but she was clearly very busy and didn't come to us. 40 minutes after the main course we gave up and decided to leave, getting a chocolate bar from Tesco for dessert! Even had to ask at the desk on the way out to pay the bill. After the starters it felt that we were forgotten about, which is a shame as we would have been happy to spend more on drinks and desserts. But, all food was amazing and we very much enjoyed the meal.

Partner and I went for a dinner together and it was lovely! Atmosphere was amazing and the staff are all so friendly and chatty. Food was amazing and so worth it for a visit!! Olivia served us and she was amazing and lovely and attentive! What a sweetheart!

2 x fillet steaks cooked to perfection and lovely sides too. Service was faultless, efficient, helpful and friendly. The only let down was the pudding. £8.95 for a small, dry brownie that is mass produced offsite and microwaved to serve, is way too expensive and let’s the brand down. Would have been a 5* review if not for the pudding.

Excellent food, service and menu choices. Visited for a family lunchtime, steaks were fantastic and well worth the money. 6 adults, with x1 bottle of wine, 2 cocktails, soft drinks, sides, deserts and coffee for £240.00. One meal was slightly delayed but our waiter Stephen was polite, kept us updated and swift to offer a complimentary drink while we waited. We rate the stakes as some of the best steaks we've eaten. Everything was so professional and we will definitely be visiting again. Well done all.

Service was ok considering it was a Saturday night and very busy previous visit was perfect but this time the steak weren’t great too fatty and tough the starters were not good calamari was like bites not crispy soggy not nice and scallops poor very off putting don’t think we will go back for a while

Average, nice is the two words I would use to describe the food. The restaurant and the atmosphere was wonderful but I wanted, expected to be blown away with the food I wanted the meat to melt in my mouth - it did not. The prices indicate the food is a step above a pub restaurant, but honestly it’s just nice nothing more.

Shocking service if it wasn't for the manager I believe he was I would be sitting there for 12 hours waiting, There was staff just standing around its Shocking how the hospitality sector has gone in this country and now they charge big prices for poor service and food I wouldn't go back.. Maybe management need to look how other countries run restaurants

We had pre-booked for a family celebration and upon our arrival our tables were ready, with a helpful offer of assistance from a member of staff to move our tables closer together, better suiting our requirements. The food was good, perhaps reflecting the prices being on the high side, but particularly appreciated was the fresh orange juice being served a large well filled glass. No miniscule Britvic lost in the bottom of a glass here! It was a shame that there was no draught real ale available; bottled mass produced beers such as Corona or Sharp’s Doom Bar just don’t cut the mustard. Our special occasion was recognised by the staff; they even provided a small complimentary celebration cake, much appreciated. Indeed the standard of service throughout our meal was excellent; timely, friendly and professional. Disappointingly our bill had a hefty service charge of almost £30 included. While I am happy to tip for good service and indeed the service was good, I shall do so on my own terms and this addition to my bill was presumptuous and disagreeable. If Miller and Carter are so convinced of the worth of their staff then they should simply pay them more! The service charge was deleted from my bill at my request, but it was embarrassing and I shouldn’t have had to ask. All in all it was highly irritating and left a sour taste after what had been a pleasant meal.
