Miller and Carter in Cheshire West and Chester

Visited Miller and Carter for my daughters birthday today. Karen our server was excellent and a credit to the team. She was approachable and helpful and put us at ease. With both children having a milk allergy she assisted in placing our order and offering advice. Karen also assisted with the size, cut and cooking of the steaks. The food was excellent and with the added lettuce wedge and onion loaf was filling, so we never opted for desserts. We will definitely return as it can be difficult to get good quality food that suits our allergies.

Allowed me to sample the red wine list, which was spectacular. Food was superb ordered the butchers block. Server couldn’t do enough for us Joanne was excellent.

We have visited this restaurant many times but this was the worst occasion. We had ordered starters, for the first time. The shrimp were whole and complete, including their intestines and 💩. We complained and were told that they were whole. The manager explained that they were served as they arrived in the restaurant. Hence they were happy for us to eat poo. The rest of the meal was good except for steak temperature. We ordered a fillet and two ribeye steaks all medium rare. One of the ribeye was medium well to very well. Not our first incorrect temperature but we have one complaint policy so didn't complain again. The waitress was fantastic which is one of the reasons we keep returning.

Family of 3, My daughters burger was cold and all our seasoned fries. So had to send them all back. This resulted with me and my husband having a main with no fries to eat and my daughter having to wait another 10 mins to eat anything whist watching us eat. My main said 1/2 roasted chicken. When it came it was two pieces with no white chicken meat on them just bones, this was a really poor meal experience at this branch , the meal cost just under £100 what a waist of money, and disappointment. Miller and Carter and Ellesmere Port need to do better. We will not return to this branch. Should have gone to KFC! We visited Miller and Carter on Albert Docks the day before and the food was wonderful.

Brilliant steak and service. We had 2x 8oz sirloins cooked to brilliant and Michelle our server was wonderful. We will be back

We went to Miller & Carter for my son’s birthday. We had a lovely meal, the food was absolutely delicious! As an allergy sufferer, being garlic and egg, it’s extremely embarrassing and difficult to find anywhere to accommodate - the staff were amazing! They made me feel comfortable and helped me with what I could and couldn’t eat. Would definitely go to again! Only downside was food took ages to come out, meal was 6.30 and mains for my 4 year old came out at 8, which he wasn’t hungry by then. Other than that we had an amazing experience and would definitely go to Miller & Carter again!

Lovely steaks as usual but service was a little slow on this occasion but the restaurant was reasonably busy. We were in no rush and enjoyed chilling over our drinks. Nice atmosphere and our go to place without the kids on a day off

Decided to give here another chance after we didn’t have the best first time experience and it was the best decision we could have made! The food was outstanding but to top it off our waitress Georgia really made the evening for us. Nothing was too much for her and had a brilliant sense of humour. Will be back again and hopefully have her again.

Had a great night then we had the food! Took a while but I expected that because I had a chateaubriand medium well New guy Ryan (two weeks) took our order ? I had to explain what mine was because he didn't have a clue. I near had something completely different but that would take too much time to explain. Food arrived all was well except the chateaubriand which I found cold but carried on as not to make an issue. We decided to have our free cheap fizz for signing up with miller and carter my daughter paid for drinks I paid for food. Split bill. I was also sent £10 off our nxt meal over £40 Obviously our bill was more than £40 even a bill divided by drinks and food. We asked for final payment and I gave up my voucher. Ryan reappeared and told us the £10 wasn't going to be honoured? Wasn't going to be honoured because we already had cheap fizz I asked for management to resolve this and along came perry. Perry did not try and intervene or help or find a solution he was there for 10 seconds before he disappeared into his office? Read the small print his words where and that was it. I was feeling a little tense at the point and that's not a good thing. I was urged to pay the bill by my now stressed family and yes stressed because I was fuming. This seriously bad management(perry) Did not alleviate the situation and stuck to his guns with his patronising way I don't need a tenner and wasn't really interested in it except for the fact it was sent to me for my valued custom and I wanted to cash it in on that day. It seems to me that the woke generation have taken over miller and carter Cheshire oaks and families are not really adhered to anymore. It's also dropped standards with the advertising on dress code. Numerous young 18' to 25 year old dressed in sports gear and shorts surrounding the bar swearing and being loud yet unchallenged? I'll give Cheshire oaks a miss for the foreseeable future for the safety of my family.

Very tasty food , cooked as we requested. Our waitress , Karen, was very friendly & helpful with the choices on the menu . We will definitely return and highly recommend.

Ordered two 7 ounce steaks.Mine was a bit grisly but cooked to my request.My friends was ok.We we’re not very impressed with the waitress service as she was very abrupt and not very friendly

Really clean restaurant shame that lamps were not working on over 50% of tables. Ordered 8 oz fillet steak. Had table lamp been working I would have seen fat on my steak. One thing I can’t tolerate is fat in my mouth. This now put me off steak. Everything else was perfect. My daughter had to eat my steak. Staff were good but we were not asked if we wanted more drinks which we did. Overall a pleasant visit just let down by steak.

Great waitress service but very poor attitude from Assistant manager - Steve. We came away for weekend as Mothers day is so upsetting for me - we had a lovely meal (except for banoffee pie (which is usually the best dessert ever) which has now changed to Gluten free and tasted awful) - we asked at the end if they took NHS discount they said they did but i needed my ID badge - ( i do not carry my ID badge when off duty) when I said that 3 weeks ago my local Miller and Carter had accepted my official NHS E Mail showing a current E Mail to me on my NHS E Mail account showing my job title etc - the assistant manager saidno he couldnt accept this as I could be using my mother's NHS account if she worked for them and I didnt really, just to get the discount - the inference was that I would fraudulently use my mums account just to get £14 pounds off the bill? - the most upsetting thing is that I dont sadly have a mum anymore - his attitude was he couldnt care less - no common sense just "no you arent getting discount !" no apology or sensitivity. I was most upset by his comments especially I could be using my mums e mail !! - if only ........... I have contacted M&B in Birmingham for the local restaurant to look into it - I'm not holding out much hope - just wished they'd be consistent in dealing with NHS staff and moreover better customer service by managers. Take a leaf out of your great waiter / waitress team approach.

The restaurant is clean, cosy and welcoming. We ate here as part of our long weekend. A Gluten Free menu was provided as requested. Onion loaf is gluten free!! Our waitress, Karen, was bright and bubbly, warm and welcoming. As Bristol residents say, "It were a gert lush meal!" Ruth and Jim

We went for my dads 90th birthday. Great steak as you would expect from a steak house, excellent attentive service. They were very happy to light the candles and serve the birthday cake we took with us.

Great service from Karen & Tom - very friendly & great advice on best steak to choose. Had an issue with one meal that was dealt with immediately and knocked off the bill without even having to ask. Starters/steak/desserts and cocktails all 10/10. Fab experience just as expected from Miller & Carter.

Cold fries, cold veg (peas n brocolli) both returned. Burger just warm.

The place needs a refurbishment and a good clean. Of the 4 wine glasses on our table 3 had significant smears on them. The seats all had a dip in them where the springs had gone. Whole place is tired.

An excellent meal with attentive staff who could not do enough. The ambience was excellent. Linda was our host throughout and was superb.

Went for tea after a long day shopping. This is probably my favourite place to eat. Hubby had an amazing T-bone, with a glass of Malbec which complimented it superbly. We were served by Joe B, who was fantastic

my boyfriend and I came for a meal on valentine’s day the food was absolutely lovely, we don’t drink alcohol and there’s a decent amount of options for non-alcoholic drinks, however the highlight of both our meals was the amazing waitress we had Linda, she was absolutely fantastic, going out of her way, explaining how the menu works, she was very funny and charismatic and just an all round wonderful waitress. thank you so much linda, you made our beautiful meal 10x better🩷

Absolutely perfect! Our server, Joanne, was incredibly friendly and made us at ease straight away! The food was incredible as well, thank you to the chefs and the whole team who made the evening special, not rushed yet service was impeccable, quick, but not too quick as though we were being rushed!

We had FANTASTIC service from Matt, who not only joked around with us, but also accommodated us when we couldn’t make up our mind. We weren’t rushed or pressured, but instead enjoyed a fabulous dining experience. Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Had a gorgeous crispy chicken burger highly recommended I really enjoyed it first time here as well. Jamie was very nice who looked after myself an partner although it did seem to take a while for the meal to arrive but in all fairness it was very busy being valentine's weekend an all that would definitely love to go again.

The food is amazing, it's one of our usual spots for date nights and celebrations. The staff is also friendly and helpful, especially Michelle who served us today.

Went out for a meal but we were on a tight timeline, Karen our amazing server, ensured everything came out on time and helped us make delicious choices. She was smiley, helpful and a giggle, we very much appreciated her and we were glad she served us that evening. What a lovely meal and service we had from our lovely server Karen aka Mary. Very knowledgeable about the steaks and has converted us to the beef dripping sauce always just have peppercorn. Nice to meet someone who actually enjoys her job and makes you feel welcome.
