Cosy and friendly little cafe attached to the Millbry Hill shop but with its own entrance looking out over the bridge and the River Leven in Stokesley. Would definitely recommend the cheese scones.

I attempted to have lunch in here with my 2 year old grand daughter . I asked if they provide children's platters (sandwich , drink, crisps etc). No they dont. Okay , do you do fruit shoots or children's juices? No we don't. Do you do half sandwiches then ? She's only 2 . No we don't. I left ! Bexters do a great children's platter so I go regularly for lunch with my grand daughters . Unhelpful and rather brisk !!

Sat next to a sign that said platinum special, scone and any hot drink. I had ordered a scone and a latte so that was good except that when I paid she rang them up separately and charged a lot more. She explained if you want the special price you have to ask for it first. Didn't want to make a fuss so paid up feeling a bit ripped off and asked for the toilet. She explained there is no customer toilet and explained they don't have to legally because they don't have enough tables to make it compulsory. She did not explain that there are public toilets in the town centre. I hurried for the bus home and spotted the toilets through the bus window once it was too late. Very unhelpful, arrived home legs crossed, ripped off and inconvenienced if you'll pardon the pun. Stokesley is lovely, I'll go back. A good first impression of the café might have made me a regular customer, but now it's a case of any other café but that one.

Had a lovely bite to eat for lunch here, overlooks the river leven, so was lovely for the kids to see the ducks too. Easy parking down the side of the building. Small and friendly, had cups of coffee and tea, and bacon sandwiches and cake. All very good. Will be back!!!

This was our second visit to the Millbry Hill and it was just as good as before. Clean and tidy and with a pleasant riverside location - it is a lovely cafe. Our tea and coffee were good and the accompanying scones were fantastic. A large, tasty fruit scone with jam and a huge cheese scone served with a wedge of cheese and a portion of pickle. Quite simply - scones don’t come any better than this. Service was attentive and pleasant and the prices most reasonable. Highly recommended.

Good little cafe, cosy inside and the food is excellent. We would call again as the lady that took our order was friendly but maybe have an extra shot in the coffee next time as it was a little weak for our liking.

nipped in for a coffee and decided that as the cakes looked so nice that it would be rude not to have a slice. Really glad we did as it was lovely, massive cup of coffee to go with it, made it a great way to get warmed up. Happy to return.

Unexpected find whilst shopping in adjoining building, outside seating overlooking the River Leven and bridge, small but clean establishment that has only been open a while. Fresh made coffee and scones on sale and the dessert were tasty. Very nice owner who was prepared to talk and listen. Recommended for a quiet out of the way drink and snack.

I came here with mam for a cuppa, though partly because another place up the street had closed - at half 2! This is a nice little place with disabled access and a mixed toilet, which I didn't have an issue with. They had just stopped serving food when we got there but we weren't hungry anyway after a cooked breakfast at Mainsgill on the A66.

We were staying at Hunton on holiday and wanted a local cafe so that we didn’t have to drive too far, ‘The Nest’ did not disappoint. What an incredible location, really friendly staff and gorgeous scones. Given that my Mum made thousands of them when we had a restaurant (and hers were always delicious), she gave 10/10 for the cherry one and I’d give the same rating for my yummy cheese one. If you like scones, stunning views and cute animals, this is the place for you!

I've always liked Barkers. It reminds me of the old-fashioned department stores my mum used to drag me around when I was a nipper. Although I didn't relish the prospect all those decades ago, I've developed an appreciation of such a fast disappearing establishment as I've matured. My wife and I live a fair distance away, but we've visited many times over the past 30 years. I'll always remember my wife buying a Phase 8 dress for our oldest daughters wedding in 2007. The choice of products available is impressive, and I've always found the service to be equal to it. Our family will be unwrapping numerous articles on Christmas day that have passed across one of the many counters.

Can’t fault the strawberry picking, but the cafe had ran out of all sorts by 2pm. Pizza’s totally overpriced for the size of them and took ages to be cooked. I appreciate the are cooked fresh on a pizza oven but waiting over half an hour with small, hungry children is not ideal. Ordered a ‘meat’ pizza which was in fact just pepperoni, why it isn’t just advertised as being pepperoni I have no idea. The pizza edges were burnt to a crisp (inedible) not the best experience overall won’t be in a rush to return.
