Lovely little place, plenty of room, cakes. Coffee was decent and prices are good. Treated my work mate for his impending 40th birthday with a spot of cake.

A great, local cafe that serves good honest food at great prices. The breakfast torpedo was superb and the cakes are to die for. The staff are lovely and welcoming and its just the sort of place to go for some hearty food. Wonderful.

My friend and I came to this cafe as it looked really sweet. The waitress took our order (1 hot chocolate and 1 tea and 2 tiffin cakes) there were no tables that were clean but my friend and I sat on one anyway waiting for it to be cleared. The waitress came and cleaned it but it smudged on the table even more and she walked off leaving crumbs all over it. Plus she had bought the wrong cakes over to us… we asked for tiffin - not hard to remember! I think she needs some kind of happy dust as I feel that communication and customer service are key to people wanting to come back.

We decided to stop for breakfast pulled off the motorway and googled places to eat found this lovely establishment very clean and tidy are excellent food staff were very pleasant would recommend it to anybody also the cake which was gluten-free was very nice

I called up to order 3 full English breakfasts and they were ready within 10 minutes. The food tasted lovely and the customer service was brilliant. Will definitely be going there again

A group of workmates came on a friday morning. Was fairly busy but we were served promptly. We all had the large breakfast and it was great! All freshly made and tasted great! Not sure I could manage the hank marvin I think that would be huge!!!!

Full English breakfast at it's best or just a break for coffee and a chat. Andy, Tony and their staff are there with a friendly welcome every time.

I had a sausage, Bacon and hash brown cob from here. It was very nice and tasty the bacon was quite crispy then quite moist at the same time the sausages were nicely cooked and the hash brown was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cbs are also very nice and obviously not store brought.

ordered 2 rolls and a breakfast waited ages to get rolls breakfast didn't even appear had been forgotten

Having researched a breakfast stop off the M1 motorway, we were delighted to find this little gem. Easily accessible, parking no problem, comprehensive menu, very reasonably priced and cosy surroundings. Our bacon baps were delicious as were the snacks we took for the remainder of our journey. All served up with a smile!

Popped in here on Sunday morning after dropping my littlest munchkin off at a party down the road. Can honestly say that this place is a hidden gem. Lovely modern, clean and fresh decor... fantastic menu with lots of your classic cafe faves. Breakfast menu is really fab... Husband said it was the best breakfast cob he has ever had!! That is praise indeed. Staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and easy going. Food is tasty, freshly cooked and I have to say... pretty decent quality for the extremely reasonable prices. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area.

Sunday morning after a family bike ride . Took almost 30 mins to serve and with a 2 and 5 year old seemed like 2 years . Good food when came out ok value but does it take that long to warm up beans and cook chips

Been for afternoon tea here 3 times now. Best afternoon tea I’ve been too. Great prices. Food and custom is great too. I’ve previously been for afternoon tea somewhere else which cost £15pp and was no where near as good! Highly recommend.

Oh my! We popped down today and enjoyed a delish hot chocolate and some divine coffee/walnut cake. The service was on point, the atmosphere was buzzing in there too. We couldn’t believe how fabulous the prices were either. Definitely recommend it. I have my eye on the breakfast yum xx

Hope they stay as successful,now that they have moved,you used to be able to smell the good food and drink,as you came out of the library and as you walked along the main road,hope they don't loose custom,especially passing trade.

Meet 'n' Eat have moved down the road. They are located under the Co-op, and they have done.a fantastic job in creating a great place to eat, or just have a coffee. They have free WiFi and some tables have charging/usb sockets. Food is lovely and great value, staff very friendly and welcoming. Credit to all involved. Keep smiling

Meet 'n' Eat is a great place to meet for a coffee and a chat. 'Refills' are great value and the atmosphere is comfortable, go find it (opposite the library) you won't be disappointed. Keep smiling 😊

This place smells of rancid cooking fat !!! Other business have to spray fresh air if customers been in you can smell when sat in library opposite ,can still get wafts of horrible smell get it well frequented place ,did give custom early on earl grey tea served in mug and tea bag left in ,surly staff too busy talking amongst. Selves , in all due doing well and us busy and regular customers just clean your fryers out more regular too many people agree about the smell of rancid fat as walk past I did catering for many years so do know !!!!

Good food, with friendly staff. Three breakfast sizes, suitable for slimmers, healthy appetites, and greedy gits.

Contacted Meet & Eat as part of a cycling club. There was no issue with over 20 of us turning up on a Sunday morning and everyone was very happy with the food they ordered. We'll definitely be using this place again and can't recommend it enough if ever you're in Shepshed.

Plenty of fresh cooked food great value for money and very tasty. Free tea and coffee too what's more to say, give it a try you won't be disappointed

What a fab little gem of a cafe, very reasonable prices and delicious foods on offer. Menu isn't overwhelming and good choices. Lovely couple of men running it with customer service a high priority. Will definitely return. Beautiful little quirks such as table tidies (logs) and small selection of jewellery on offer. Can get very busy but people come and sit together here and make friends (hopefully) long may it continue.

This place has the friendliest if staff and the breakfasts are just the best. The owners are incredibly kind. I have never had a bad experience in Meet 'N' Eat.

Fui allí para el desayuno. Yo tenía un tocino y cob huevo y era reciente. Estaba muy sabroso y bien preparado.

Gran enorme desayuno recién preparado y enorme taza de té y café. Una buena variedad para elegir y buena calidad de productos también muy bien y muy limpias.

This little café is a lovely place to "meet & eat".Very good coffee and the food is very tasty,every meal is made to order,not mass produced like some places so be prepared to wait a short time for your order.The owners are very friendly and the serving staff are brilliant.

Okay price with a basic selection.But unfortunately like every greasy spoon I came out stinking, to the point I had to get a shower and fresh clothes on.

We stayed nearby recently and came across this cafe if I am honest by accident. We decided to go in and as we were a large group thought that the service would be slow but we were completely wrong. It was a Sunday morning and there were 16 in our group, the majority had breakfasts and they filled us up for the rest of the day. Andrew who I believe is the chef there accommodated all of our requests and even the lady in our group who is a celiac he was able to accommodate her special requests. The food was top notch, great quality and very reasonably priced.

They do a really good latte here and in the absence of a costa coffee, this is the perfect place to find an equivalent replacement. They also have a very wide range of menu choices which is brilliant. Their sandwiches are nice, very very good value for money and they always give you a side salad and their homemade coleslaw with it which is super delicious, I wish they gave you MORE. The offer a great take away service, service is quick and has always been accurate and they do a fab fry up for a really good price too! Real shame they are not open on a Sunday!!!!A few minor complaints:- They don't put a lot of butter if any in their sandwiches- They should offer you a choice if you wanted smoked or unsmoked bacon when you order a bacon roll because they only have smoked and it tastes weird- The bacon rolls are never piping hot and they don't put enough butter or bacon in them!- They don't put enough mayonnaise in the tuna mayonnaise sandwich option and it makes it so so so dry!!

A`very handy drop in point.Excellent breakfast and price includes drink.Staff could not be more helpful.There is no doubt that this cafe has greatly improved eating out in this town.

This cafe is fantastic, with polite staff and excellent service. My family and I love this place and would highly recommend to friends and family.

Lovely cafe run by friendly and approachable owners and staff. Love going in here to get a cappuccino from an actual coffee machine and the homemade cakes are lovely and a great personal touch! The menu covers everything from sandwiches to breakfasts to paninis and jacket potatoes. I can highly recommend the tuna paninis! Nothing is too much hassle and they will always go out of their way to make sure that you are happy. I go in here with my little boy also and they constantly fuss him and bring him biscuits and chocolate. Very child friendly :-) As they are open on Sundays we go in here quite a lot on a Sunday as no one else local opens on a Sunday. It's always extremely busy and that says it all really.They do personalised buffets too and my work also uses them now on a weekly basis and each week the menu is varied and the food is always complimented by our clients. All in all I can not fault anything here. If you want a friendly atmosphere with a good variety of food and first class coffees then I recommend that you visit this cafe!!

Only go this café if you have plenty of time, the service is abysmally slow,...and don't bank on an early breakfast here, the café doesn't open too early, the breakfast I eventually got was below average, bacon not fully cooked, beans had a bitter taste. and the tomato tasteless. Shabby exterior complete with hanging basket full of dead plants doesn't do much for the overall appearance. On a positive note, the staff are friendly enough, with a little more attention to details this could be a nice place to dine

Took a look at the revues.. Drove here for a breakfast. But closed . Was informed it opens at 8am. But still here waiting at 08.40

This cafe is fantastic literary the best place to eat better than all the others in and around shepshed people really should eat here there is only one place to eat in shepshed this is it truly fantastic

I went here for the first time and had a breakfast cob it's great value for what you get and cooked to perfection if there is one thing that lets this place down they don't have branded sauces like HP or daddy's tomato ketchup other than that it's faultless from service to food keep it up

Been here lots of times now. We go to the library every 3 weeks and pop in for lunch. Normally my mum and my two sons. The staff are lovely and friendly. Great with my boys. Great food and for great value for money. Today I had small bag of haribo, yummy chocolate shortbread, ham and cheese Cob(was huge) and a bottle of water £5.25. Bargain

Went here for a quick lunch with a friend this week. An elderly gentleman was having a cuppa and there was also a young mum with a baby, we are in between so it is really a cafe for everyone!We had a toastie each - very generous portions, good chips too.Service was friendly.A very unpretentious place for a quick lunch, very reasonable prices and a decent range of foods. This is lovely place to visit for just a cup of lovely coffee or food from the comprehensive menu. When I visited last week with my husband I had a delicious welsh rarebit and husband had a jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn, all simple but very well cooked.There is a nice atmosphere with a friendly owner and staff and I get the impression that if it isn't on the menu they will do their best to provide it!A welcome addition to our already very good and varied choice of eateries in Shepshed!

We use this cafe often and every time we go the food is fab.the owners are very pleasent and friendly and accommodate you in the best way they can. The price of food is very good and the portion size is very good for the price. Highly recommend a visit

This is a very friendly Cafe in the centre of Shepshed. The food is excellent, with a wide variety of food. Dont expect small portions, that never happens, always good quality and home made. They also do outside catering which I have had and that was amazing value.

This is by far the best cafe in Shepshed. Don't expect a boutique cafe full of ladies that lunch, instead you have a very decent cafe with great food full of people of all ages & many regulars. The owners have recently refurbished in a lovely way & it is perfect for a quick bite to eat. The menu is vast from a sandwich to a full dinner, however please note that the portions are huge, so a 'light' bite isn't really on the menu! How they make a profit is beyond me! The owners are amazing with children and will tailor to their needs by chopping & changing the menu to suit them. All their main dishes seem to be home cooked & I can recommend the chicken curry, cottage pie & breakfasts if you want a full meal or their salads & sandwiches for a lighter bite. All are very yummy & incredibly reasonably priced. It's great to see a village cafe doing so well & really mixing with the community. I have also heard amazing reviews about their outside catering too - which again is excellent value.

Its all in the name! Lovely people, so friendly, great food, fantastic quality and value for money, set in a quirky building right in the heart of the under rated little gem which is Shepshed. I would thoroughly recommend to all, and especially if you are on your own, it is a place to feel welcomed and valued!

Been quite a few times. Breakfasts are good everything is cooked to order. Cafe looks a lot better since the refurbishment. Staff are very friendly too.

Little cafe with good atmosphere and clean tables. Food is fresh. I ordered an omelette and my partner has sausage, eggs and chips. They don't have hp sauce but similar one . I was expecting to have some fresh juice as there was written in their board.Other than that pleasant place.

The staff were fairly friendly, the food was to standard, the coffee was lovely, but the cafe was very cold, we had to sit in our coats. It would probably be much better in the summer.

Sorry couldn't resist!! Popped here with extended family just for coffee/ tea. I had a mocha and it was great. Found myself with real food envy as other tables were eating breakfasts. Didn't have time on this occasion but if I am in the area again if certainly like to try the poached eggs.Decor : on the tables they have used wooden rounds of trunks really lovely feature and big different. Also local handmade jewellery for sale and nic nacks.

Come across the Meet 'n' Eat only recently and went in for a coffee initially but promised myself I would return from seeing others eating in their, the coffee as good as any of the big boys and better.Returning for the big breakfast I cannot fault the food everything freshly cooked and spot on. it looks like nearly everything is home cooked and not a lot brou8ght in when it comes to the cakes etc. Signs around stating outside catering which does not surprise me.Well worth a visit and awkward parking although the COOP is almost next door

Quite possibly the best bacon cob I've had in a long time, on my first visit. Second visit, had the 'smaller' plate Full English and this too was very nice.My negative comment is as described by the first reviewer; they do need to get some better air flow through the place so the diners don't all reek of cooking smells and smoke.Would go back though as food was enjoyable and tasty, plus it helps keep things going locally! Worth a visit in my opinion.

Been several times for a full English, food always good and prices good,Only complaint is extractors are not working so kitchen smell throughout cafe, our clothes always smell when we leave, nowhere to put your tea bag when you have a mug of tea - other than that all good hope they do well - will visit again
