Meat at 156 in Cardiff

They put completely burned meat in front of us and got only cash money. We had to go out on the rain to get cash for them. I waste our money and left the restaurant still hungry.

Dad loves the quzzi, only thing he likes eating whilst he's been here. Good portions and their masa2a is great. Lentil soup and bamya do the job too. Good prices

The food, especially the lamb quzi and the lamb shesh kebab, is very tasty, very reasonably price and the portion size is big so you'll never leave this place half-full. Took my teenage children for some food here and have no idea where all these crazy trip advisor negative comments came from, although people only tend to comment when something goes wrong I guess. Has new management and a new menu apparently and for the four of us was less than £30 and was plenty, very tasty and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Will be popping by again to sample some Moore. I had the lamb and it fell apart, was perfect.

I had the tacos and the nachos delivered to me, the tacos come. On a bed of rice and salad and the shell is total mush on the side facing down. The meat is unremarkable and I had to eat the tacos with a spoon. The nachos were almost inedible, the tortillas themselves were really weird and floury, and the toppings were minimal and tasteless. Definitely doesn't work as a delivery as only the top couple of chips were edible, the rest and anything with salsa on was a paste-like mess definitely not worth £5. Do not order the guacamole, (£1.50 for a thimble full) I don't know what it is but I am certain it has never even been in the same room as an avocado. It has been dyed green as I found a band of green food dye unmixed into it. It tastes like mayonnaise mixed with their runny tasteless sour cream. 2/10 would not recommend the tekmex

18/07/2018 Hi, we made plans to arrive at your resturant for 5pm. We just got there and were very rudely turned away by the lady chef. She has a bad attitute and said they are just preparing the kitchen and are closed. I asked when they open and they said 5.30. The timing on the door and also the website states 5pm. She didnt apologise or even kindly tell us that you were not open. She has done this a few times before. I feel very put off from coming here just because of her actually. Could you please update your opening times if you are opening at 5.30pm. We were very disheartned and ended up eating at saray the nearest resturant as we were looking to eat. Update: We havnt been back since even though I would really love to for the burgers. I dont want to face such rude staff again.

so a few of us went here on a weekday night the place was empty but heyho! we had to wait to order and when we finally did we had to wait a further 50 minutes for 3 burgers and a steak! they clearly prioritise take aways here as deliveries were going out the door and we just sat there....finally the food we better off grabbing our own mince and making it ourselves

Have ordered takeaway a few times now. On the first order the burgers were excellent, however the fries were soggy and inedible. On the second order, due to previous experience, ordered only burgers and they were lovely once again. Third order was below standard with a late delivery and lukewarm burgers. The fourth order is the last order I am ever placing. The burger buns were rock solid, meat patty rubbery and lukewarm. It tasted like the burger was not made for my order. I felt that it had been prepared a while ago and kept in warmth for far too long. It's not worth paying £6-£8 quid for an old burger.

Staff and venue are amazing whilst however, the patties of the gourmet burgers are thin and in the same style as frozen burgers you can buy from Tescoes. They had a point where they had large patties and great portions but now they lost that. Other than that an amazing place would recommend if they bring back the old portions. (I ordered a 6oz)

No milk shakes, no steaks, I gave one of the staff a piece of melted plastic from my burger finger nail size I said he should find out where it came from so nobody else would eat melted plastic, he apologized and we left, this was our 2nd and last visit.

Taste is good, staff and place are nice. Yet, portions are too small and takes too long for the order to be ready. The menu is a bit confusing while it doesn't have enough visuals. I thinks it's better to ask first about the portion/ the size before ordering.

The burgers are freshly made and of a high standard. They are reasonably priced. Not sure why, but they put so much salt on the fries, it can spoil your whole meal, ask them not to put any salt on your fries, unless you want to be tasting salt in your mouth for the next 2-3 hours. The people serving can seem a little be miserable at times, I don't know if they are just tired or they don't want to be there.

i went here yesterday Saturday mid afternoon. this was the second time time I had been. the previous time the staff had been enthusiastic and the burger was very good. my experience yesterday was not good at all. there was no one else in the restaurant and we where told our burgers would be 10 minutes. the person cooking spent the whole time talking on speakerphone and managed to overcook both burgers. not a place ill bother going back to.

On entering the joint on Friday evening with a mate,the place was empty. The service was non existent, the guy at the counter taking the order was very ignorant. after ordering the food and sitting down,it came to the table by another ignorant server. The burger was a average at best drinks were missing after standing at the counter being ignored for at least a minute due to the guy being on the phone and the kitchen staff standing around I finally got the drinks. Avoid unless your mates really want to go.

So went to this place on City Road at 6pm on a Wednesday evening. They had no customers and they still didnt even welcome me when I arrived. Staff were not friendly. I asked if I could have one of the four burgers they advertise on their window. They didnt have it. Asked for another one. Didnt have that either. In fact, they didnt have any of the burgers advertised. Rude, unfriendly, no burgers, scratched up tables. Do not go if you like food or other people.

Meat at 156 is a modern burger grill house, A selection of various types of burgers which burst with flavour, they offer burgers from 3oz to 6oz which are pretty big face to face. Prices which don't break the bank, very affordable also with selection of milkshakes. If your not a fan of meat or chicken they have vegetarian options too. Lovely cosy place however can get busy, potential wait times up to 20 mins for food but it's worth it.

The food is good, not great, but good. The staff however, can be very rude. One time, my friend ordered a ‘Kid’s Meal’ (because he couldn’t afford a main meal at the time), and the staff took more than 25 minutes to make the food, also it said on the menu that it does come with chips, however, the woman only gave him a burger and when he asked if the chips should come with it, the woman - very sharply - just said “No!”, and then walked off... Two stars for some good choices of food, declined three stars for rude and long service.

So firstly the hot water in the unisex bathroom is not warm, having tried the cold water tap this was actually warmer. Upon receiving the burger which has be advertised as spicy I discovered this was drowned in spour cream and a 'hot' salsa milder than the aforementioned sour cream. Honestly I'd struggle to chose this particular food place over certain franchises, and definitely over a certain a-mazing shed (Cardiff's number one burger) avoid unless you're craving the barbeques you'd have with friends during your teenage years (cheap meat cheap buns and a disposable BBQ)

Burgers were average, nothing special. Unfortunately they were served cold, when i told the staff, just like the burgers the response was cold. Basically they had "it's not our problem" written all over their face. Poor / rude customer service, as we walked in we were ignored. Burgers were probably cold because the Restaurant was colder than average.... Won't be visiting again!

Beef burger was over cooked, the bun had a soggy bottom, the sides were really nice and the milkshakes were really tasty.

We have ordered a few times from this place and been very happy with the food. I ordered a 3oz beef southern crunch on the meal deal. It's a burger I've ordered before and I enjoyed it the first time. This one however was a pathetic shriveled burnt rubbery excuse for a patty. The bun was squashed and the onion strips were barely present. I phoned the store and said I wasn't happy. The person on the other end of the phone told me it was 'Shrinkage' due to the hand made nature of the burger. I explained that this wasn't my first meal from them and asked what he is solution would be. His solution was to hang up on me. When I tried calling back I was immediately hung up again. I didn't raise my voice and was not rude. Will never. Ever. Order from here again.

Been here a few times, but the last two have been bad. One time in the restaurant it took 40 minutes (we were the only customers) and the food was average and soggy.

Popped in this evening, and will definitely be popping back. Good healthy portions, absolutely delicious chips and burgers, and nice friendly staff. Went back again last Tuesday 23/1/18, and yep, it's still doing great burgers in an easy going relaxed atmosphere, and at decent prices. Well worth checking (I reckon) if your in Cardiff.

Driving home, though it looked good so we’d give it a try. Probably one of my worst decisions to date. The place was dead, so we placed our order and sat patiently and waited. People who came in after us got their food before us despite us ordering first, this happened 3/4 times. An hour hour later our food came, everything was dry and cold. The only thing that comes close was it could only be what chewing a dry flavourless flip flop is like. The chefs both had attitude problem and looked like they just got told their mother has died. Things where forgotten from my order as well to make everything better. Definitely not worth going to, would rather eat a 3 week old mc Donald’s off my dead neighbour. ‍♀️‍♀️

Went here on friday night at approx. 7pm. There was only 1 other table in the venue. Walked in, not greeted on arrival so were left debating whether we wait to be seated or just sit down ourselves... eventually we just sat somewhere. The food took a long time to arrive considering there was only ya and 1 other table in the venue and when it did it was cold! I politely asked for it to be microwaved and they did but didn’t apologise for the cold food. After microwaving they then continued to stand in a huddle talking which ultimately resulted in my food again being cold by the time they brought it back to me. By this point my boyfriend had finished his meal so I was left to eat alone - the tiny bit I managed to eat. I then asked the man behind the counter (who was rolling a cigarette!!!) to have half my money back as I didn’t eat it as it was cold but was happy to pay for my boyfriends and the manager who was behind the till also failed to speak to me directly and spoke through the man at the till instead. Even though we were all within 3 meters of each other! Again, there was no apology and I have never experienced rudeness like it.

Ordered online and the delivery took ages, but when the food arrived I found it was worth the wait, super tasty!

Really disappointed with this place. Ordered on Deliveroo the other day. Dirty fries were uncooked despite being extremely thin. French fries were undercooked but more importantly had a little piece of metal in them! Looked like a staple. Burgers were quite nice, though they didn't look like the photos. Based on my one experience I would definitely discourage people from going there.

This is a great place for burgers and steaks. However, the food took longer than I expected (around 20-30 minutes) and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. Compared to Five Guys, the burger is smaller, and won't really fill you up.

Couldn't ask for me been working all day and was starving. The chef greeted us at the door and explained the menu. The burger came out and it was fantastic the reasonable price made it even better. If I didn't so far away it would be a regular visit.

We ordered the Amigo and the Texan burgers with fries..... The Texan was average, pink inside and the burger was a thin piece of ‘meat’ The Amigo- not worth it and the nachos were soaked in sauce.

I had the Mexican inspired nacho filled burger and it was delicious, the nachos really gave it a nice crunch and the flavours of the sour cream and salsa balanced it. The dirty fries were delicious, so filling and great value for money, I had them ‘spicy’ and the sauce was the perfect level of spice. Overall, great experience, at a reasonable price (less than a tenner for a huge burger and fries combo).

Very stylish look, great shakes, took a while to get served. Not surprised by the 'Donut Surprise' - it's just donut flavour!! I was surprised however, when I didn't get any meat at 156; veggie burger or not, it is not what it says on the tin. Very disappointed.

Ordered from here a few times, this time not so happy. I ordered 2 signature burgers with 2 fries.. food came, but half of it was missing! My chips wasn't with the burgers, I then tried calling the restaurant to explain my situation to find that their phone has been left off the hook for 2 hours, & still is now as I'm writing this.. so I was given 2 burgers for £25. I have then placed the exactly same order on justeat an commented in the box to call me, an still nothing.. very disappointed.

I had the Shroom Melt and it was so sooo good, loved it! My friend also went for a kids meal as she wasn't too hungry, they weren't bothered at all with her having a kids meal. They also reminded us of using our student discounts! The staff were really friendly and helpful with what to choose. Will definitely be returning!! Thank you!

Very expensive for what you get but the food is delicious. The burgers are proper meat and real chunky fresh beef burgers. Not frozen flat patties. The house fries are hit and miss but when it's a hit, they are really great. Customer service is excellent so far. Had 4 visits

I've been here a few times and I'm really happy with the consistency of the food it's always good every time I've been I've had no problems. The burgers are really tasty and you can tell the quality of the meat. Normally I find beef burgers quite bland in taste but not here. The dirty fries are just perfect especially the nacho cheese they use it's just so good.

When they say they are using prime cuts for the burgers they are not joking.

I went with a mate who introduced me to this place. Can't really say much as it was just an average gourmet burger, wasn't wow for me. I went when it had recently opened but I have a lot of good things about the place so I think I may need to try it again. Staff and cleanliness of the place was good. Had a good experience, just didn't enjoy the food.
