Reliable. I just wish it opened earlier so I could day drink all day in the summer and play that coin game in the smokers area.

Good pub. Food is good, and staff are friendly. There's often music playing or something on the tv. They have a good pool table and they often host events like pub quizzes.

A lovely old pub in the student area of ​​Cardiff. However, because of the many young guests, things are much livelier here than elsewhere. Even on a Tuesday evening, the store was well filled late at night. The staff is very attentive and keeps up with the high number of guests. A recommendation.

This pub was brilliant, staff was lovely, great student prices on drinks, had a dart board which is a huge plus. Really liked every aspect of this pub to be honest, no complaints. Held a uni darts match there and the general consensus, everyone liked the pub.

Played a darts match here, the pub only had one board which was a bit of an issue. However, there was a student deal on madri for £3.50 which was class. If I lived in Cardiff, I would be a regular

Very studenty pub. Ok for a pint but if your not a student you will feel out of place

Went at 11:05pm and asked if they do takeaway pints(takeaway cups). They said they do but when I reached the counter and asked again, staff said they’re all closed. He then changed his mind asking me what I wanted, then changed his mind again saying ‘actually sorry we’re closed’. Clearly there were still a lot of customers sitting around and the pub closes at 11:30pm. There were still plenty of time before closing. Very disappointed and won’t be going again.

Quiet evening with enough good company and plenty of sports on multiple TVs. Will visit again. I didnt go to eat, so can only rate, politeness of bar staff and speed of service, which was both good and 5-star worthy

stopping with my daughter near by for a few days i am from carlisle but cardiff born and bred called in for a few pints on the thursday night good service great atmosphere got to meet the boss nathen and his lovely girl good pint of beer served here if in cardiff again will call in

Was served by a lovely guy , think his name was Fergus . Really polite and friendly and made our evening feel welcomed and enjoyed the atmosphere . Will definitely come again .

Great coffee and service at the Royal George today. Absolutely loving the new Coors beer garden. I will return for something a little stronger next time.

Comfy, warm, welcoming and never packed. The perfect place to grab a drink with freinds and as far as the quick pub grub goes, it's pretty decent!

Reasonably good pub, friendly staff, reasonable prices but they don't have a great selection of craft beer. Haven't tried any food there, so don't even know if they do any. I would definitely go back to the place of I was around the area...there's not a big selection of pubs around though.

Stopped in for a roast great prices good portions and no questions asked when requested extra gravy good stuff!

After a few beers i went home and realised that I have lost my wallet - I could have lost it anywhere between the george pub and home. My first port of call was to ring the george and it was there!!! - fully in tack - all cards and money in place. What an honest bunch of lads they have working behind the bar. Thank you so much - keep up the good work!

Classic modern pub, variety of tables booths and outdoor area depending on what you’re looking for. Standard beers/ciders and usually a couple of guest taps, all reasonably priced.

Pretty good pub, spacious, good vibe when busy

First time experience and it was pleasant. Very professional and welcoming environment with good social distancing measures in place. Not a very big place but has a good number of tables and chairs. Prices are reasonable too.

Recently went here and realised there was a new menu on so had to try. All I can say is wow. I had the Cuban toasted sandwich and it was amazing. Such good value for money and food was so much better than pub grub - fresh and authentic . Will definitely be back

Shocking service, waited 40 minutes to be served as it was table service only, Was told 3 times waiter will be over with you and still nothing, Know now what it's like to be stuck in the desert with my mouth this dry

Nice modern place, done out to feel contemporary. But unfortunately that’s the only thing going for it. Popped in for a quick drink before dining at a restaurant on city road. Asked one of the staff if we could book a table for when we finish at the restaurant. Was told that there was no need to book, as the pub is rarely full. On our return to the pub about an hour later, there was a sign saying “full” followed by a staff member saying “sorry we’re full”.

I had a lovely evening until a bar woman who though she was chocolate ignored customers because she was sitting on a man's lap flirting breaking covid rules and when I approached her and said can we be served she looked down on me and now just been told I'm banned

This pub felt very well managed and obviously pays a lot of attention to covid policies. It’s very popular with students. It felt welcoming in contrast to other similar places in the area.

Good price but can't hear a thing the person next to me is saying sat indoors.

Food is rubbish frozen not bad for a drink but usually busy full of students and they don't out the sound on for football games when they advertise them much better pubs in the area

The cocktail was nice, but I ordered chicken wings here for the first time and they were burnt and black on the edges. The serves was also quite rude. It was my first time there and he yelled "no one is serving at that bar". The place they were serving was hidden around the corner. The decor was nice but the staff were impolite and food was burnt, so I couldn't eat it.

A great pud with friendly atmosphere

Nice and cheap but we decided to order food. Here is a photo of the chicken platter with bits of charcoal that they called buffalo chicken wings. 2 friends had burgers that they were not impressed by as well but the guy who had the rump steak said he enjoyed it. It's ok for a cheap drink but I wouldn't recommend the food there.

Fui al pub, fui recibido por un miembro masculino del personal que tomó mi pedido de 2 bebidas no muy cortésmente, debo agregar. Volví a subir solo por una cerveza, otra vez no muy educado. Pero esta vez él vino a tomar mi dinero, pero otra persona me quitó la cerveza a unos 3 pies de distancia y se fue. Parecía estar más interesado en hablar, descubrí uno de los habituales. No es bueno se 8 en absoluto.

The Royal George is our local pub, and has served nothing but lovely pints. However, having come here to watch the football with a friendly group of students, we were disgusted to be greeted with the attitude we received. The younger barmaid should not get the blame, but an older looking woman who had served roughly half of our group managed to appall us all. We were told that we were disrespectful for not cleaning up another customers rubbish, when in reality that is her job. We appreciate it was a busy night, and had she gone politely about the matter we would have HAPPILY cleaned up said customers mess because we can appreciate that being a barmaid is hard work. She then continued to stare at us throughout our evening, making many of us feel uncomfortable - something that is expected when being stared at for an disturbing amount of time. We love this pub as a group, and as regular customers think we should be treated with gratitude and respect, of which is exactly what this lady received from us from the offset. Appalled.

Since under new ownership quality of lager has improved. Good sports watching pub.

Came here with my wife and granddaughter for a drink and found it quite respectable. The bar area was well decorated and they had a nice outside seating area. It was quiet but we came early on a Sunday

I was kicked out for no reason. Chucked me out before I even downed my first pint. Were very unreasonable and lost a lost of custom from us. Used to be such a better pub. Sad for how it's turned out.

When I ordered my first drink I also asked politely for the barmaid to dispose of my rubbish - she went about pouring my drink but ignored my request. When returning with my drink I asked her again to dispose of my rubbish to which she took my rubbish but had a terrible attitude announcing "No please or thank you?". I thought nothing of it and continued with my night but when I later returned to the bar i was surprised when I was refused service because I had been rude. I have been to the Royal George several times previously and I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor however, with staff like this I am not surprised that I see it empty so frequently. I will not be returning.

Looks a lovely pub. Drove past many times. Does not look like there is any parking facilities. Hopefully one day when I retire I can give a thorough review of what its like inside. Theres never any loud music playing when passing. Drink prices look good.

Went for food as was recommended by a friend. The online menu was nothing like the menu in the place. My friends ordered scampi and I ordered pizza, the 2 meals arrived and was told by the bar staff that there would be a delay on the pizza as the chef had to go to the shop and buy cheese, ok fair enough. My friends finished their meals and I was still waiting with no correspondence what's so ever to say how long the pizza would be. I then asked for a refund and had no apology. Will stick the claude for my Friday night meal in future
