Happened to pop in in the evening to some very uncourteous customer, who was doing everything to cause unprovoked problems. The very friendly and helpful man working there was doing an amazing job of trying to calm the situation down. Deserves a medal for the way he dealt with it , alot better than I would. I think his name was Callum. Lovely chap .

So stupid that they would close half of the restaurant during the busy hours(8pm) at night when everyone just wants to eat after a long day of work . So stupid

Sick of talking to machine's to get some service, only went in for coffee ☕️

It’s a McDonald. I liked the staff and service. Online machine ordering via kiosk is available. Ample place to sit. Was there to have their Mc Egg Muffin. Love it.

Got charged for the drinks in a meal deal and the idiot I spoke to couldn't comprehend what I was saying. Luckily it was my granddaughter's birthday or there would have been problems.

The food is what it is. Although I would recommend the grilled sweet chilli wrap if looking for something that's healthier and lower in calories. Table was clean, service quick

Nice and clean, friendly staff, quick service, but bare in mind it was before 9am.

This is the worse McDonald’s I’ve been in my life. They put the lettuce in ur burger with their dirty hands. They claim the peel to play points then stick the points back into the cups so you don’t get anything!!!

Unfortunately being of a slightly older generation (im 54) and don't really do technology. I asked for some assistance with the touch screen ordering thing and was told they couldn't help me as we're too busy. Anyway eventually managed to order and as usual had to wait ages for my "fast food". Disappointing as always. Total McCrap

On google, it states it has a drive through when it does NOT. Also, opening times for the weekend are wrong and suggestion made but they just choose to ignore it.

Arrived on site at the above address for the service in the men's Washroom, not to eat, but to work, met two very Helpful People today, one was a guy, the other was a female, think her name was Chelsea, bit of Confusion at start, but all good, she Literally Went Above and beyond to help us out, signed us in e t c, her hospitality was Excellent, #100% Customer Service from Start till finished.. Much Appreciated because it was the first time I was on site here today.. #McDonald's Newport, #Excellent Customer Services, #IOW, #RSH... 😀

Where do I even start, I called them the other week, asking to speak to a manager, because my food was cold, and I just got hung up on. The place is usually alright with food, the staff are pretty friendly, busy as well, usually the pump ketchup machine doesn't even work (idk what to call it lol 🤣) usually covered in rappers, and sometimes some description of grime on the floor, but I like to come to McDonald's with my friends, and it doesn't really bother me, and when I mean grime I mean dirt from people's shoes, which I don't know about who's fault it is or anything, but altogether ⭐⭐⭐⭐

For decades you have taken orders by counter.. your website even braggs about providing counter service yet when I walked in I was refused service unless it by a touchscreen. The touchscreens have always been optional. In the time it took for your employee to argue with me about a overnight change as to no counter service you could have taken my order. I walked straight out and bought a co-op meal deal. Refuse to serve me by any means and I'll take my business elsewhere. This is what happens when a franchise feels it has the monopoly and can heard you around wherever they want like cattle. Won't be returning.

did not give me my fruit shoot, i waited 15-20 minutes and did see my fruit shoot with my order number on it however loads of other drinks were given out but mine, then took the label off with my order number on it and put it back in the fridge, second time this has occurred

Great store with lovely staff. Note that its often hard to park near it during the day and it shuts at 11pm on Fri and Sat.

Always clean and the staff on the shop floor are attentive. I usually order on the app for faster service... When I order in the restaurant it obviously takes longer especially at busy times... Never had a bad experience in this Mcdonalds

I'll go in every now and then, mostly for a coffee and food sometimes. I normally use the self-service, as it's quick and easy to use, and the service is quick and efficient.

Nothing special, i wouldn't call it fast food as they take forever to do the simplest order. Always lots of people waiting for food . Never anyone to take your order if you dont want to use the touch screens ( which are filthy )

Gone right down hill of late, was really good for ages but now everything is over salted, the fries and the burgers won't be going back for a while

I had an order delivered, which had missing items and 2 burgers that were wrong. One of which was ordered with no cheese because of a dairy allergy and it arrived with double cheese. I have been told to contact Uber Eats by McDonald's and Uber eats have said it's got nothing to do with them as McDonald's made the food so I can't get a refund for any of it after spending £60. I have tried to go through the McDonald's app virtual assistant as one member of staff suggested and that is a complete waste of time. Next time my family would like a treat take away. McDonald's isn't going to be thought about.

It was ok the service was very slow as the staff were there standing around just talking to each other when i needed help on the booth's. The food is always good just a shame the system for the hot chocolate was out of order on that day otherwise would had been better with 5 stars.

Shocking ! We regularly use this McDonald’s either in store or on Uber eats every time something is missing ! Maybe if the rude staff could get their heads into the job instead of discussing the night before sex life orders may be correct !!! Where and who do we complain to speaking to the Isle of Wight managers is a waste of breath need to go higher up the food chain !!!

Coffees are made way before food is ready so by the time you get it the coffee was luke warm

We don't have McDonald's very often but last night we treated ourselves. I had the spicy chicken burger which was very overcooked, hard , dry, not nice at all. So disappointed😞. We had take away so got home and therefore couldn't ear it 😞

In and out with the click and serve option and ease of ordering food I wanted without the hassle of getting kids out great service and polite staff

My disabled husband tried to order his lunch. He was told he had to use the screens, he is over 70 years old, and does not deal with technology. Thankfully he had other more accommodating places to visit. The counter service was empty, they clearly need training in disability services, any one with an ounce of compassion would have served an elderly man rather then send him off to use 'the screens ' when I find the complaints link I will lodge something more detailed, but I am so angry that my husband could not order some food because some twit could not provide a level of customer service, when they were not busy, is disgusting.

Went into this Macdonalds, approached the counter to order and pay, I always use cash, I was ordered by a member of staff to use the machines, apparently they take cash now!!! I said that I didn't want to, apparently that isn't an option, so I walked out in disgust. Has anyone ever thought that the previous machine user may not have washed their hands after using the toilet??

Eating in McDonalds daily is part of what I seem to do now, because being houseless it's the cheapest burger in town. I bring the price down even more by completing their surveys on the receipt that I doubt they even read. Anyway this review is specifically about the decision for them to throw away food that someone has ordered and not collected. I noticed in a few McDonalds that they shout the order number out and sometimes walk around the store and can't find the person that ordered the food. On this occasion I decided to stand up and say, don't throw it away because I'll have it if nobody claims it and was told by the staff member that they are not allowed to do that! As far as I can tell there is no logical reason to do that as the food is still fresh and is just going in the bin. I doubt this is a McDonald's policy as it makes no logical sense so in my opinion I think this would be a franchise decision but who do you think will get the blame?? The only reason I can think for doing this is that they want to know who everyone is and who is buying what in terms of monitoring spending activity, along with the idea that they don't want to attract the homeless, otherwise they will sit there all day waiting for that to happen. Well maybe if you didn't have the cheapest burgers in town you wouldn't attract them, you can't have it both ways and also, maybe if you just gave them a burger once you validated in yourself as a human being that this person was indeed homeless and hungry they would just leave happy anyway. Travelling around I've noticed that the franchises of these chains (not just McDonalds) that do give stuff away to the homeless are normally doing it in the moment based on staff discretion. The staff with any sense of morality and ability to trust someone will just say, go on then, have a free coffee or take some of that before you go as we won't sell it. Kind of like they do with the sauces in McDonalds. They are supposed to charge 10p for a sauce but do they....no they don't because they use their own morality and feel confident they won't get in trouble because it's only 10p and they don't. Do you think they would get in trouble for giving away food that's about to be thrown in the bin?? I highly doubt it. The excuse "well if we do it for one we will have to do it for everyone" doesn't wash either....no you don't, you can just do it for one or anyone that comes in at the right moment and there is food available to them. It's quite simple really, have you forgotten how to communicate, connect and make a decision in the moment without following a policy or a screen?

Staff are so polite, Husband even got called Sir, which he could not believe, (once in a lifetime).

Clean and quite quick service for a morning.

They have a good staffs there, keeping a smile and wishing the customers all time. It was located in a congested area and no drive throu and parking is available. You have to find a parking space on the street but it will be difficult when the town is busy. Apart from that it's a good place.

CRAP ABSOLUTELY USELESS MISSED ITEMS, YOU RING MCDONALD'S AND ITS NOT THIER FAULT ITEMS ARE MISSING, YOU HAVE TO CONTACT DELIVEROO...HOW IS IT DELIVEROO'S FAULT WHEN MCDONALD'S HAVE NAFFED UP THE ORDER...GARBAGE...CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE......NEVER AGAIN

Just a head up for people.. order of the app and it will be delivered via uber. . If you get cold un-edible food delivered then it's your loss. I called to complain and was told to go through uber?? Uber don't want to address the wrong doings and don't give refunds. I've had this happen twice now. So yea upset is an understatement. I shall not use this restaurant again. Disgusting

I have visited almost 4 days every morning while I was at this Island. Easy to find free parking in the street at on the right morning. Most of the time food quality were good, fast and correctly cooked. Hot chocolate were just perfect. Toilet available I used mobile App to place an order every time to receive points for each time and I have even used those points to buy some of my food completely free. Only once they ran out of porridge 🥣 in the morning due item wasn’t delivered in their previous delivery which is understandable as the only way for food 🍱 and people to come to Isle is via ferry ⛴️ I never faced any staffs unusual behaviour. All staff seemed to wear their hair net, cap and correct Mcd clothing, however there was once one young girl at front servicing food with most of hair hanging outside the cap and hairnet.

The Newport, Upper St James St, Isle of Wight Restaurant is great. The staff are always pleasant, polite and helpful, the store is always clean, bins emptied etc and the turnaround well organised. Over the years we have visited various branches but our local restaurant has it spot on. Well done team 👏

Not a bad place, visited here whilst on holiday, we had breakfast twice on our way out for the day, first time they got my order wrong, didn't know till I was in the car, so felt a bit ripped off. Parking is really hard, so it's a park up and walk. Not really in a good position, for visiting in a car.

They never have milkshakes in ever and it upsets me greatly, I go for the milkshakes and only the milkshakes they never ever have them tho, there’s always fights and people shouting, kick them out. Thankyou

Some junior member of staff harassed me - aged 56 & another older woman- a local with a young child in an aggressive way. He made us move seats because he wanted to clean the table, then had a good laugh about it with another school boy employee. My husband made me leave before the manager arrived to hear my complaint because a gang of drunk young male festival goers joined in the attack on a single woman. Nice one Mac’s. You deserve your 2.5 stars. The youths seemed very upset they hadn’t gone to the festival because they were working. Yeah well when you’ve worked for decades you get to go to festivals because you’ve earned it and some respect from school boys.

Order system might as well be in an alien language as it displays random jumbled nonsense, food slapped together, and the atmosphere is like a youth club.

Me and my friend went to go sit down and there was a small stool on the table which i don’t know why and we thought we would put it back on the floor and a worker came over to us and started being really rude , pointing fingers at us and called us stupid for moving it . Mind you were still teens . I don’t think a worker should be talking to customers like that . We ended up leaving because of him . He looked old enough to be my grandad

I've been lucky enough to eat McDonald's in quite a few different cities and countries - I love McDonald's. I tried to buy my go-to meal (Big Mac, large fries and a coke, easy peasy). There are no tills, forget that, there are the big screens and when I walked to where the people would normally be I was told by a very young member of staff that there was no one to order from and if I wanted to pay with cash someone could help me at on of the screen things. I noped out of there, it was almost comedy, and walked over to KFC. In the KFC I said "hello" to a person, told them what I wanted, they took my money and gave me what I ordered - result!! Newport is a little fish in a smaller pond and with almost zero competition they get away with it. In the civilisation of the "real world" (London, Birmingham etc) they'd last a week at most. Sadly I didn't get a chance to order the food off the internet

What a joke this place is went in today with my son. Ordered 2 drinks and a McFlurry. Waited 15 minutes while stupid employees look at screens with a blank expression. My drink was on the side for 10 minutes but my order went through the screens then disappeared I just told them to throw it in the bin life is too short to be stood in there watching brain dead employees 😂😂😂

RUDE SHIFT MANAGER AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I visited the island and I was feeling hungry so I went to get some ‘fast’ food. I waited 23 minutes for a bigMac Meal. When I received the food the chips were freezing cold. I approached the shift manager who I believed his name was Jack. I explained to him what happened and he told me to jog on and get lost. I was absolutely shocked when he said this to me. I said ‘excuse me?’ He said ‘you heard me jog on’ I was absolutely furious and told him you shouldn’t be talking to anyone like that yet alone being a McDonald’s shift manager. What type of reputation does he give to McDonald’s than other being a little rude grease ball.

Absolutely awful service, and a so called manager called “pinky” laughing down the phone because our food is going cold! Never again will I be ordering from here again!

It's a macccy D's. Ordered inside on the smart screens. It was a Friday evening about 8pm so not busy. Didn't wait long for my order. Had large fries and filet-o-fish. Fries were hot and freshly cooked but my fish burger was only warm. Haven't eaten in a macccys for years and found the bun cardboard like a chewy. It's fast food so expected really. Half of the restaurant was closed off so there was limited seating.

Poor Service. From the minute I walked in I was told to hurry up because they were due to close and when my food was ready they just dumped on the counter didn't even bother putting it in an bag.

It was fine. Clean, the staff were good. It is not fine dining but for what it is they do well.

Had used the delivery service serval timed, and they consistently packed the items wrong. Either is missing or incorrect. Hard to contact, and when finally got hold of someone, they were unhelpful, rude, and only refunded a small amount of the item missing. This was both a waste as I wanted the order, plus it cost me more money. Have used several times as mistakes can happen, but now too consistently wrong. Will not be ordering again.

Great location! Very clean and seating area is not too cramped. Perfect for breakfast.

Overall good but my beef patties were cold.

Long wait (43 mins) cold coffee and cold food, so many customers unhappy on a Sunday morning, I will never take my children in hear again.

Very long time to wait ,missing order food , cold

Every time I go they get something wrong, miss items or wrong item. So I now check, but will now have to taste drinks to make sure they're right or even have flavour in the milkshake. Ryde seems more on top of things which is annoying when you live in Cowes.

Service takes forever and it's the smallest McDonald's I've ever come across

Didn't put all my order in the bag and was completely unhelpful when I called to complain. Will not be returning ever.
