We’ve been to McCallum’s Bank End Farm shop and Cafe for lunch. The farm shop is excellent, with a great choice of fresh produce so we stocked up on a few essentials like pork pie, cake and salad! We had lunch in the cafe, the guys had steak pie, chips and peas but I forgot to take a photo until they had almost finished eating 😞. The girls had home made lasagna, and quiche with salad. Everything was tasty and great value! I would have liked the meal to be served on hot / warm plates as everything cooled down quickly, and the coffee was not as hot as we like it, but other than these minor points, we enjoyed our lunch and will visit again soon!

Went on a whim with the husband - been saying for absolute ages we going to give them a try for breakfast so this morning we did! Went in and ordered two large breakfast and coffe came to £19.00 which is about average to be fair Then they came out and they mean large as it came with 2x sausage 2x bacon 2x eggs beans mushrooms and black pudding with a side of toast All the ingredients they used are local and they have a list on their chalkboard to advise where their produce comes from My husband polished his off without any hesitation and loved every bit of it however it was too much for me so unfortunately couldn’t finish it all off It was absolutely delicious 🤤 the staff were nice and friendly - it was abit in the quiet side as it was around 09:00am when we went in We would definitely recommend going to their cafe and I can guarantee that we will be beck to try their lunch menu at some point too They have fishing ponds so it’s open all week

This used to be our preferred place for breakfast but yesterday’s experience was very disappointing. From ordering it took over45 minutes to get our food, despite there only being about a dozen people in the cafe all of whom were having a breakfast item. After that wait we expected good things, however the mushrooms were chewy and had obviously been standing for some time, the eggs greasy and the sausages pink on the inside at one end of each sausage. And of course by the time it arrived we’d finished our coffee! Disappointing and won’t be returning.

Came here to get a Christmas tree and really liked the place! I come from a family that have a shoot, so was talking to the man who I think said his father owned the place, he was really nice gave us a discount and helped us put the tree in the car. To say we paid £45 for a huge big tree! That took up all are bay window. We were very happy. It was about 6ft 5 and must of been 5ft wide. It lasted until New Year. The Woman will make you Little hampers with the gin and biscuits, I moved into a village on the edge of Doncaster, but was heading home over Christmas. They made cute hampers for my family back home. Called today and they said they will be getting Christmas trees again this year so I’m happy to wait a week or so until they arrive

The cafe had its first sunday lunch today. The chef cooked an excellent meal with great ingredients. The striploin beef was the most tender I have had. A big selection of vegetables and really tasty gravy. Service was very good.

We went for breakfast. Fabulous welcome by the waitress who told me she used to be a social worker. Just happy and bubbly and a great rapport with the customers! Breakfast was hot and tasty apart from the mushrooms which tasted odd and bitter as if they'd been cooked in oil. I always use butter! Great farm shop too and lived the gin!!!

Called into the "farm Shop" 😂 I use the term loosely for a look round and have a cup of coffee. This shop offers very little and is hugely disappointing the local (fresh 😂) meats that they were offering for sale were dry and old looking suitable for a dogs dinner and that's pushing it. Mouldy old apples near black bananas and very very expensive packets of biscuits £5.40 for 8 chocolate biscuits is a outrage. The cheeses and meat pies and fruit pies did I look ok and they also sell alcoholic liquors for sparkling wines and lagers and beers in the cafe. (I didn't notice a licence to sell alcohol on display). The cafe was clean, but why we had to wait 20 minutes for two teas is still a mystery to us as there were two people serving behind the counter that were deeply in conversation all the time. There's a decent walk round the fishing lakes but they need to check the fishermen who use pocket stun guns to kill the fish and hide them away........ didn't think we saw them but we did they polish by the way. If your on the road that passes this farm shop 😂 do your selves a favour and drive right past.

Went for a days fishing which was ok, not in the league of other nearby fisheries charging the same but not the worst. I ordered a simple ham salad sandwich to take out from the cafe which boasted homemade produce, and at a cost of £4.75 for a sandwich I was expecting something nice. What I got was two slices of supermarket bread with a lettuce leaf two slices of cucumber and a tiny tomato. Very disappointing not to mention overpriced.

We called in here yesterday and we was shocked to see the state of there “fresh” fruit and veg was in. It was awful it looked like it had been there days without anyone checking through it. The woman who served on the butchers counter did not wash her hands after handling the meat before going on to serve us with a cooked fruit pie. Truly awful hygiene is practiced here. The staff are miserable and offer no friendly service at all. This place is a health hazard even the so called fresh mushrooms had given up. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FARM SHOP IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH. 🤢

We arrived for a late lunch at 2.15. The sign outside said that hot food was available until 1.45 and the cafe was open until 3.30pm. On entering the cafe most of the tables were covered in dirty dishes, several of which had uneaten food - not a good sign. A member of staff was sat at one table looking at her phone. She immediately told us that there was no hot food. OK, that was what we expected and we said a sandwich would be fine. This got a somehat surly response that she would have to see what could be done. This was not what we would have expected from a cafe that had over an hour to closing time We got the definite impression that our business was not wanted at this time and we decided to go elsewhere. A sign outside said that there was a vacancy for a chef and maybe that was the cause of the problem? The farm shop side of the building looked bright, inviting and well stocked but the cafe was a real disappointment.

After many lovely breakfasts at Mccallums and pleasant visits to the farm shop we were left a little dissapointed. We normally have had excellent service and good quality food. However on Friday this was not the case, we waited at our table and then waited at the counter in the cafe and it took almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged let alone to be served. All it would have taken would to have been acknowledged, while we realised the lady on the counter was new we felt she needed a bit more support. When the breakfast arrived it was arranged poorly and was not pleasing to the eye. We had considered going to another cafe prior to this visit but we decided on Mccallums, unfortunately the breakfast was more of a £4.50 intake breakfast than £6.50 'Farmhouse'. It was sad given the excellent experiences we have had in the past. We hope this is just a blip as we went well out of our way to Mccallums.

Nunca he tenido un servicio tan terrible. Sólo salimos. No volveré

Stopped off here, meat counter wasn't too inspiring, but veg was very good and they had home baked scones etc. Various frozen items available along with a lot of condiments, biscuits and cakes that seem to be the norm for farm shops. We visit regularly for breakfast. At face value places that offer a 'eat as much as you like for £3.99' deal appear a cheaper option, but when you factor in the price of tea and coffee there's little difference. The food is cooked to order and is always hot, tasty and plentiful. The café is not elegant - the farm shop and café are next to three fishing lakes, and customers are often fishermen and contractors from nearby works. It's a good, no frills kind of place. My only quibble is that there is no veggie breakfast item, and you pay the same the for meat free as with meat. One used to be able to swap one item for another, but now you can't - you have to pay extra and have to items you don't want as well as any extras. As each breakfast is freshly prepared I can't really understand this policy. We've never had lunch there, but the menu looks fine. If you're in the area I would certainly recommend for a good breakfast to start the day.

Dropped in on Sunday for a breakfast. I've been before and found it an OK experience. The waitresses, I guess, are part-timers, and do their best, but I was sorry on Sunday that a group of male anglers found it necessary to plan their day in such an expletive-ridden way in front of these young girls.I have to admit that this has never happened to this degree before, but, if you have small children and care about such things, be prepared to put up or shut up.

If you have plenty of time to waste this is the place for you. Ordered breakfast for myself , husband and son in law at 10.05 , drinks arrived 10 minutes later, we chatted and chatted and chatted finished our drinks and still no food. Waitress came over and asked if we wanted more drinks we declined looks like a ruse to me to get you to spend more money. Eventually food arrived at 10.45 and average describes it. Sorry Bank End up your game or we won't be back.

We have bought things from the farm shop a few times and have no complaints, the food is always nice (although the meat is not as nice as the farm shop nearby at Westwoodside) and seems reasonably priced. However this weekend we decided to go to the café bit for a late breakfast/early lunch at about 12 o clock on Sunday and it was so bad we didn't even bother to stay.We walked in and there are around 8 tables, 3 of which were occupied and the rest covered in dirty pots. We sat down at one of the ones covered in pots and none of the staff even acknowledged us. We sat there for a few minutes (no menu or anything) and a few of the staff walked past us to take drinks and food to other customers and still didn't acknowledge us. They were walking straight past all the pots on the tables back into the kitchen, I would have expected them to at least pick a few things up on their way back in.After a few minutes of sitting there looking like idiots, my partner went to stand in the queue at the counter to ask for a menu. He stood there for a few minutes waiting to be served, during which time I saw another couple send back their coffees as they were stone cold. It was at this point we decided we would go to Walkers Nurseries instead. Terrible service.

Not the place it used to be. Gone dirty and the gents toilet was disgusting as it looked like it hadn't been properly and hygienically bathroom cleaned for weeks. Service was slow and staff run off their feet because there wasn't enough of them. The once glorious soughdough bread has gone and there are no tea cakes (at Easter!!!). Such a shame as I used to enjoy going here....but not anymore. For the prices you pay, it is poor value for money. The owners have run the place down and should be ashamed. It used to be great
