Other than their inconsistency they are decent in terms of food and service

That is amazing food which is the REAL Chinese Food I have ever had , which was one of few outside of London . Supper clean and supper location. Highly recommended !

Not the best at all by a long mile..seems as though they have lost their WAY, AND VERY SLAP HAZARD 😞 IN ALL A VERY DISAPPOINTED MEAL.. HOPE THEY CAN GET THERE HOUSE IN ORDER..

Only best thing is near to beach, no proper cleaning after check out ,kettle was stinking smell of milk asked to change but washed and given still the kettle was not usable finally swaped but in 2 go.needed to go down and tell to put on radiator and in midnight swithched off. No drinking water,you have to drink from toilet tap water. Breakfast was extremely poor, no fruits at all asked yogurts for kids given some in bowl with spoon never experienced the situation like this.and if u need a hot milk ,you need to ask not in breakfast counter. Absolutely not worth the money spend ,there are couple of hotels facing sea if you looking for such hotels. Very disappointing

Never bother to write a review tho. Use to come here often but this time very disappointing . Mala grilled fish literally no soup and asked the owner/server to add more soup since the fish not inside the soup. She says in chinese not suppose to eat in soup etc and smoked away. LADY … DUN SMOKE ME AWAY.. IT IS NOT MY FIRST TIME EATING MALA FISH 🤣😂And i asked another server again and she brought to kitchen and come back and says that they could not add it since need to cook soup again and since there is no soup it is very salty. Other dish also no taste blend. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Atmosphere also very noisy since other people celebrating birthday and singing song.

If you know and like your Chinese food authentic, this is the place for you. They have two menus - a British Chinese and an authentic Chinese menu with many Sichuan and Hunanese dishes on it. We always go for the latter and are never disappointed. Top food, very nice people.

Ordered a takeaway at 19.30 - told it would be 20 minutes. Took 1 hour 15 .. they kept saying sorry we are busy . But that’s not good enough . I’d avoid until they get more professional

Due to Spinnaker Tower problem, we decided to go to Mayfair for my wife's 60th. Very, very impressed. Kung Po Chicken, Hot Green Pepper with Dry Bean Curd, Mixed Veg Noodles and Hand Made Dumplings were all to die for. The whole menu looked great and the BBQ seemed to be going down well with the local ethnic community and students too. Many many thanks.

We visited today for the first time. Couldn't fault anything and food was delicious. OH even finished his meal which is unheard of these days. Our new go to when in town.

Food was bland and tasteless, service was the slowest I’ve ever experienced. We waited for more than an hour for our food. People that came after us got their food before us even. Won’t be coming back again…

As soon as we walked in we knew we’d made a good choice, the cleanliness was second to none, and there were Chinese people dining, I had chicken and sweetcorn soup followed by roast pork chow mien, both were delicious. The service was superb, we were treated like royalty, we picked a very quiet evening, but I’m convinced the service would have been the same if the place was heaving. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful taking my rollater where it would be out of the way, and bringing it back when we were leaving. That was our first visit, it certainly won’t be our last!

Visiting Southsea with family and tried here out for a takeaway. BBQ ribs very. Fatty and chewy, couldn’t eat them. Salt and Pepper chicken dry and boring and chicken fried rice also dry and again not nice or edible. Not recommended at all Be Careful

It feels authentic. Not your standard fare so worth a visit for the large menu

I have four Vegetarian dishes, aubergine, tofu, beans, noodles. They were amazing. Taste it good. The crowd eating there makes it clear that this is proper authentic place. It was a bit noisy since there was a big table with many people. But was amazing. I will go there again.

Ordered food from Mayfair on Saturday 19/11 for delivery Waited an hour and 10 mins paid driver £23 What they delivered was the worst food I have ever seen in my life Crispy duck was a container full of white fat completely inedible( had to delete photo as was making me sick) Chilli beef and prawn toast cold and greasy Phoned to complain but got nothing had been working all day so just didn’t have the energy to take further. Please avoid this place at all costs. I would never write a review like this but really never had anything like this from anywhere before *AVOID AT ALL COSTS*

I had a fabulous dinner at Mayfair Restaurant today with my lovely friends. Food was biond expectations, very delicious, excellent presentation ,quality and taste. 🤗🥰🍾🙏 Thank you 😊

We recently visited following good reviews from fellow Trip Advisers, we were shown to our table and handed both drinks and food menu's and following review of the menu we played safe and went for traditional dishes and whilst we waited a long time for both our starters and main dishes take a long time to arrive at our table, and in fairness the waitress apologized. However, we found our food very blend and with very little taste. Overall it was a disappointing experience, and one we will not repeat again.

It is a lovely Chinese restaurant that sells authentic Chinese food and has lots of parking spaces outside.

Fabulous Chinese here the menu is huge which lots of choice it’s clean and the staff where happy to help service what quick and friendly

Stumbled on this restaurant on a Monday evening whilst staying in Old Portsmouth. This really is a Foodies Holy Grail. Authentic Chinese food and to the extent that I had no idea what would come if I ordered it. Luckily the young Chinese guy who took our order did make recommendations and guide us. Very much appreciated. The food was exceptional. It was simply one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. To get the best from this restaurant buff up on what an authentic Chinese menu might be and how it is served. This is only my third ever review of anything and this restaurant deserves all the praise I can offer.

Read the reviews of this place and decided to give it a try since it was only a 5 minute walk from me. The reviews definitely meet expectations! Lovely staff, gave us free drinks and the food tasted amazing. Will definitely be returning 😍

Absolutely do not go to this restaurant! ... left waiting 45 minutes for meal, whilst all the Chinese guests around us were getting served ... When I asked why we had not been served I was told the waitress had forgot to give our order to the kitchen!!! I can only assume it's because they did not want to serve a white guy... Outright racism.

Great customer service, Average food, but overpriced for sure.

Ordered with them on Uber Eats. It was confirmed and was even notifying how it’s being prepared. 1hr later they call saying their merchant driver cannot deliver to my address😠,which is a PO2 address, cause it’s too far!!. For a 50£ order, you’d think that won’t matter. Now we here have to order again…wait ANOTHET HOUR for food!! FUMING😤😤

Unexpected little gem. Having walked passed this unassuming place many times, looking for a near by restaurant last night we remember this little restaurant, as the birth place of Peter Sellers and thought we would give it a go. Well, what a delight, we were greeted by the cutest little boy, we presume the owners son, with a massive smile and hello. The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable. The food arrived quickly and was delicious, the service was polite and efficient. The portion sizes were good and we easily shared one dish between two. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Really friendly staff. Made to feel very welcome. Food tasted really good. Great selection of genuine Chinese food and the usual take away style experience. Would recommend ordering out of your comfort zone and go for the "real Chinese" experience, you will not regret! Will definitely be back.

I had a takeaway last night. Arrived 20 mins late prawn toasts were greasy and cold. Hong Kong chicken tasted weird and was soggy and cold. At least the chow mein was plentiful and tasty and enough for lunch tody. These 3 items were £18! I will not be using this place again!

We ate in, with our 10 yr old son. The food was amazing, so fresh and great portions, my son is a little fussy about veg and didn’t pick a thing out at all! Very friendly & helpful staff with allergies etc no problem giving take away tubs to take the rest home, so pleasant!

My partner ordered special fried rice with no prawns or vegetables and salt & pepper shredded chicken. Upon opening the order it was discovered that his special fried rice was full of vegetables and the crispy shredded chicken was the thinnest ever witnessed. Don't bother ordering if you have a specific request as they will just blatantly ignore it and the portions are measly. Extremely disappointed and he will not be ordering from there again and I would strongly discourage others from doing so too!

Authentic food with great portion sizes!

Had a takeaway from The Mayfair and have to say it was the best I've had for a while. Not greasy , Hong Kong style sweet and sour was great, black bean beef had a kick to it, meal B , good value. Staff were polite and wait wasnt long.

Extremely tasty food. Interesting menu with traditional favourites for local diners, and more exotic options maybe aimed at Chinese diners. Different price ranges. Tried a mixture of familiar and unusual dishes, lots of flavour - look forward to visitng again soon.

Came here as every time i pass, i see Chinese people eating in there, so if they like it, then so will i.!!

Food was absolutely delicious however service was a little slow but I think this was due to them being understaffed. I will definitely be back regardless.

Authentic food, brilliant service, amazing food.

Authentic! This place does a lot of dishes which if you've ever visited mainland China you might actually recognise. If you're after a bland English chow mein, go elsewhere. This is where you go if you want chilli chicken feet and pig intestine, amongst other less-offal based things which will suit both Asian and Western palates alike. I've just had the fillet beef, oyster pak choi and kimchi rice. Recommended!

Recommended without hesitation.

Food was very nice,but staff did not know what we were saying. Very welcoming and quiet.You need to be very specific and the place is easy to get to.Overall it was great and nice.

We found this restaurant quite by chance, the food was great, a little hot but enjoyable, being a big Peter Sellers fan I must admit I was a bit in awe of sitting in the home of a British comedy legend being born just above the restaurant, the owner came out and personally gave me one of their menus with a dedication to Peter Sellers - thankyou ⛩️🍜👍👍

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over five years I also get takeaway from there I’ll drive there tonight to get a takeaway because I didn’t spend over £10 I refuse to take my debit card even though I was prepared to pay a fee I wouldn’t take it i’m tired I’ve worked hard all day I just wanted to get my tea and come home I won’t go there again Very bad attitude I’m surprise as I normally recommend this restaurant

Caminé a cierta distancia para llegar a este lugar y pedí 2 platos muy simples y fáciles para llevar. Rollitos de primavera un arroz frito vegetal.Recogí la comida y volví a mi hotel. Para un pedido de comida para llevar, esperas cosas muy básicas como un tenedor, una servilleta y algunas salsas. No había nada de eso. A los rollitos de primavera les faltaba la salsa estándar, así que solo podía comer un par y tirar el resto. El arroz era el más suave y sin sabor alguno. Ni siquiera sal o pimienta. Muy poca variedad de vegetales y muy pocos de ellos. Ni siquiera había ningún paquete de salsa de soja en la bolsa. Muy decepcionante.

I went without knowing it was the final day of the Chinese New Year celebrations. A warm greeting and sat comfortably waiting for friends. I enjoyed the complementary rice dumplings and the food was delicious. Great portion sizes and very reasonably priced.

Turned up here with my friend for a nice dinner. The waiter who serves us was polite and friendly. The young lady who was a waitress lied to me that they don’t accept card payments. I told her that I could only pay with card because I don’t have enough cash with me. She then rolled her eyes and took the card machine out! The food was okay. But the attitude/service of the waitress who was a Chinese girl was terrible! Awful!! Definitely upset us and nothing would encourage us to go back! Shame about the dishonesty!

Booked table for 7.30 turned up early and was told we did not book a table and had no chance of getting a table.so called assistant manager was very unhelpful bad customer service will not go again.

RACIST treated other customers who were white or Chinese better greeted them with smiles and allowed them to sit where they wanted unlike our group who were black wouldn't allow us to sit where we wanted and had poor customer service skills as if they were angry to serve us. Food is delicious, serves authentic Chinese cuisine with English alternatives. However; the service... I felt there was a negative atmosphere as I walked in the door, the staff were inpolite and incredibly discriminatory when serving me and my family. I found that they were more than happy serving those from a similar or own ethnic group or Caucasian customers than me and my family that are Caribbean. Whether or not it was because we are black.. I don't know. But it was made perfectly clear that we wasn't wanted.

we went to this restaurant as it had a high rating review ,when we got there by taxi it was 5.55 the open signs were up so we went in to be told that they didn't open till 6 and could we wait outside,really!!!

I have been to Mayfair quite a few times with chinese delegations. The restaurant serves a selection of dishes that are 'pot luck'. It is food that I could never order for myself and it is always very delicious.

Authentic Chinese food! Love the Three Treasures. They have two types of menu to cater to you, one is of authentic Chinese food, one is of localized food. The food is in Szechuan style, which means it can be really spicy.We had four dishes, the roasted fish and the Three Treasure(aubergine, potato,and green pepper) are my favorite.
