Massala Lounge in Wakefield

Onion bharji needed seasoning, it was bland. I've never seen an olive or sweetcorn garnishing a bharji. Pickle tray was nice and poppadoms fresh. Veg karahi was v mild and ok, nothing special. Rice and bread were good. Service was good and polite but a bit rushed. We were not asked if we needed more drinks.

"I recently visited Masala Lounge the day before Christmas evening , an Indian restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was marred by the rude and racist behavior of one of their staff members, Mr. Amir Uddin. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable,I saw he was so rude with his staff he don’t want leave them to talk to the customer, and one think I could still remember about the tips from customer I just asked one guy did you get the tips ,, within a second amir came and stopped him to answer my question he made him busy with another work . Mr. Amir's attitude towards me, specifically as an Indian individual, was disrespectful and offensive. He made derogatory remarks and displayed a clear bias towards he is regular customers. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and goes against the principles of hospitality and inclusivity. Not only did Mr. Amir's behavior ruin my dining experience, but it also left a lasting negative impression of the restaurant as a whole. It is disheartening to see such discrimination and racism in a place that should be promoting cultural diversity and respect. I strongly urge the management of Masala Lounge to address this issue and take appropriate action against Mr. Amir Uddin. Racism and discrimination have no place in any establishment, especially one that represents a rich and diverse cuisine like Indian food. I would advise potential customers to think twice before dining at Masala Lounge in sale , as the presence of such a staff member reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole. There are plenty of other Indian restaurants in the area that prioritize customer satisfaction and treat all guests with respect and dignity."

Just don't go in after 930pm. You'll be turned away or rushed. But food is amazing

Went last night for the first time, celebrating a friend's birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. The lamb biryani was to die for beautifully tender chunks of lamb. Chicken korma was a hit too. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good price too. It was busy which is a good sign. Will definitely visit again.

Service was excellent. Food wasn't as tasty as others I have been to. However it was tasty and good portions. The Jalfrezy I had wasn't as spicy as I hoped but maybe it's my taste buds. Overall though, very nice evening

I went yesterday for Chrustmas dinner. Its a beautiful, modern but cosy setting. The atmosphere in the place waa lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was divine. My family were with me and also thoroughly enjoyed it too. We have decided to go back again next Christmas day. I really do highly recommend this place. I would like to thank the staff for their hospitality and a wonderful Christmas day.

Visited Massala Lounge earlier this week - it came highly recommended by colleagues at Waterside Arts which is directly opposite. The service was fab. The food was amazing! Vegan options available (I asked) including Vegetable Rogan Josh & Vegetable Dansak (which was made without cream!) which we had on our table to share. Dansak is definitely a new favourite for me thanks to Massala Lounge. Perfect after a hard day at work, thank you so much.

Absolutely disgusted. We were refused our order of starter's only and one main to take away. We had already eaten poppadoms and ordered drinks. We therefore had to leave. Our order would have easily amounted to £70 if they allowed us to stay. Never known anything like this before. We've eaten there 3 or 4 times before and sorry to say you have now lost our future custom.

Mum and Daughter night out Found staff miserable and rude one member in particular, argumentative with what we ordered Food we had Lamb chops and onions bhajji Curry we had Lamb karahi and chicken Dhansak, rice and Nan bread, popadoms Bhajji has No taste Lamb chops hardly any meat on them, missing taste Chicken Dhansak too spicy supposed to me a mild curry Chicken was a bit rubbery Lamb karahi had just a load of green chillies thrown in it couldn’t eat it When we were leaving not a single one of the staff got the door for us just stood at the bar Had better curry elsewhere Staff need customers service updating Such a shame Not happy!!!!!

Lovely restaurant. We went here because of the reviews but it was just ok. 2 curries 1 bread 1 chips 1 rice 2 small soft drinks just under £40 Very small portion of curry, only 5 small cubes of chicken. It was tasty but only warm not hot. Bread, rice and chips were perfect. Mango chutney like water, very thin. Waiter who served food was not very pleasant just plonked food on table quickly announcing what each one was and walked off. Wasn't feeling any warmth from the service. However the man who greeted us was very nice. All in all just ok.

Our go to place for a curry in Sale. Just a good place to get a curry. Staff always very friendly and helpful.

The food was average. The space is a little cramped. The plates were warm but the customer service wasn't. Staff were polite but just didn't feel very welcome.

The meat was chewy and I doubt it was the lamb I ordered. it's inconsistent here as I generally get takeaways and it's mostly good but they do have off nights. When I raised the "lamb" issue - it didn't seem too important to the waiter as he smiled and said thank you.

This is my go to place when I'm in Sale for an Indian meal. The food is consistently excellent as is the service. It's located on the main road almost next to the Metrolink so really convenient when on public transport.

A good curry stop in Sale town centre and handy for the tram. The food is very tasty.

The best Indian restaurant in sale and to be honest the best for miles around, stunning food and very helpful staff and they also have a takeaway service, I have never had a bad dish and have tried different things here and everything has been very tasty.

Went for Christmas Day meal with family. First time here, food and service were superb and I would definitely go back. Only thing that let the day down a bit was the price was more expensive than we saw online (they hadn't updated the website) but after querying they gave us the online price.

Had the Nag pour first time absolutely gorgeous

(14/04/18) (9:30pm entered the restaurant) After a busy day out, me and my boyfriend wanted to go for a bit of food at this Indian restaurant... we arrive and notice it's a really busy Saturday night but they find us a table and we begin to order. Bearing in mind me and my partner dont eat meat and i have certain intolerances to some vegetables so we find it hard in any indian finding a main dish that we can both eat. So we chose, onion bahjis, chips, nan bread, popadums, sauce tray, and a Korma sauce which was clearly stated on the menu for £2.95 with NO terms and conditions attached. This is our usual order at any indian and it has never been a problem. The waiter took our order fine but then another waiter came back to refuse our service. He was very rude and did not understand our dietary requirements. We offered to add more food to our order that we could eat (e.g. more chips and more bahjis) that made up for the fact a main course wasn't ordered and it was a busy restaurant. However, he didn't listen and continued to clear our drinks and cutlery away from the table. We were left sat embarrassed and ashamed to get turned away from a restaurant for not being able to eat "standard" food. We asked the waiter one more time could we eat here and he said he needed us to go as he needed the table (there was clearly empty tables in the restaurant still).... I will not be recommending this restaurant and I definitely will not be spending my money there.

The best curry we have ever had

This small restaurant is my local 'Indian', so of course it gets high marks from me. My favourite meal at the moment is the chef 's special which gives you a sense of genuine home cooking, especially if you can persuade chef to to add spinach and paneer to the chicken.The decoration is ok, but, as with many small Indian restaurants, the toilets could do with an overhaul.
