Don't usually leave reviews, but the quality of the food we ordered this week was so good I just had to! Ordered a chicken phal for myself and was pleasantly surprised when it was extremely spicy, just how I was hoping, was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing as well

have ordered from here a few times and the food is 10/10 butter chicken is one of the best i’ve had and keema naan is delicious. The staff are always so friendly couldn’t recommend more

We've just moved into the area, got a menu through the door and thought we'd give it a go. So pleased we did, it was the best Indian takeaway we've ever had! The food was absolutely delicious, loads of flavour, perfectly cooked and very hot when it arrived. We will definitely be using Masala again.

Best Bombay aloo in Kent! Such friendly staff and quick service! Food was piping hot when delivered and was delivered at my selected delivery time. Can’t fault anything will 100% be my regular Indian takeaway now!

Time to say goodbye. We have used this takeaway for many years. Unfortunately since under new management (very nice people) the orders have been wrong and the food is always cold (we collect as we live 2 mins walking distance). We persisted hoping things would improve but unfortunately tonight was the last straw. True to form the food was Luke warm. We also ordered a Tarka Dhal but someone forgot to fill the pot. About two spoonfuls - not even enough for one, let alone two people sharing. We always like to support local businesses but regrettably we can no longer do so.

Food arrived 30 minutes late and was cold. When I phoned up I was told that there was nothing they would do and I could have something off of my next order.

First time ordering a full meal! Really lovely peshwari naan full of coconut which I love the meat was really soft and just the right amount of heat in the bhuna! Won’t have to travel far anymore for my treat

Visited this takeaway with my partner on a Monday evening and was welcomed straight away. I believe the gentleman who served us has a genuine passion for food and he was chatty and friendly. The dishes we ordered were delicious and seemed to have extra 'pizazz' would certainly recommend to friends and family. Brilliant all round service, thank you.

Absolutely amazing food , flavours are spot on there Tandoori mix grill is my favourite . Although I would love to try a chicken korma for my little man . Spot on can’t fault them so far . Amazing staff Emma

Me and my family always order from Massala even though we could order from other Indians much closer to us. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and the service is always fast. The chef is very talented and has made some of the best food I've tasted

The food was fantastic and better than our old favourite sit down Indian in Bexley. We collected, everything was hot and delicious. Enjoyed it so much we are eating there again tonight!

Wasn’t aware when we’ve ordered our last delivery was 2,5 hours later turned up & when nice rang up , they weren’t that apologetic just one cold sorry & been asked if I wanted to collect it but it would be only extras 15 more min than had to wait another half an hour 😠! Overall the food was eatable but was taste wasn’t the same more liquid curry sauce & only a few pieces of meat was in it ! Now not sure I’d trust them to order again 🤔🙄

We have used Masala on a number of occasions recently and we are always really pleased with the service and food. We always collect and food is often ready within 25mins after ordering. The food is really tasty and has the right amount of spice. The staff are always friendly and pleasant. I would definitely recommend Masala to anyone looking for a local Indian take away.

Ordered at 5pm, promised delivery at 5.45pm. I phoned ask where my food was at 6.15pm. I was told it was waiting to be collected. As our whole family was over for Mother's day we opted to collect as it would be faster as we live nearby. They offered us an extra dish as we had to now collect which was fair. When I arrived to collect said order, other people were being handed their food. I asked for ours and it wasn't even cooked! They lied about it being ready to collect. I then asked why others were getting their food when we were the first order that was now 1 hour 40 mins late - no answer, no apology. They said it was cooking now but no answer to my questions, no apology, and straight back out the back leaving all the other customers waiting to be served in the reception. Here comes my food I thought - nope more orders for others who ordered later again. It was an absolute joke and nobody seemed to know what they were doing. The place is under new management and I would never go back despite being a loyal customer and regular for years. My last review was 5 stars but the new owners shouldn't get a one star. I hate being lied to the most, and then no apology. They wouldn't answer my questions, as it was clear they lied and been caught out. I asked where the delivery driver was and then told they didn't turn up that night - be honest and don't keep good customers waiting! Don't lie about it being ready to be delivered. That said, it's the same excuse other reviews have been given weeks ago..(see below).. coincidence?? We got the food over 2 hours later and even after being told it was just cooked it was still Luke warm. We ordered a mixed Massala that was not mixed, just chicken. The extra dish was not included but it was to be expected after what I'd just witnessed in the take away. They did offer me a bottle of coke like they were doing me a favour. A massive disappointment considering I was a happy local that's gone from 5 stars to 1 star review. I would not recommend this place to anyone following my experience.

Really disappointed….usually our go to takeaway as we live in Newington. Tonight’s order ( first one since under new management) took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when it did most of it was cold. I had called to ask where the food was after 90 minutes of ordering to be told it was on route. Ordinarily I would have collected, however, today I tested positive for covid so asked for delivery, think it’s time to look for a new takeaway!

Honestly, you’ll feel better just taking the money you’d spend on the food & throw it straight in the bin, because that’s where the food will be once you finally receive it, I don’t wish to be hyper critical but it was really poor. .

Have lived in newington for 2 years and this was always my go to weekly take away - it was amazing! Now it has been taken over the food and service is awful. Waited for a while for our dinner, for our order to turn up wrong, cold and not cooked properly. Will defiantly not be ordering anymore - chef was very unhelpful on the phone.

Service I’m afraid is absolutely shocking, phoned again to order & people not trained in exactly what is on the menu, serving 3 people at once, and confused when are taking your order, then on delivery selections not correct. Seriously need some management skills!!!

I asked for a delivery I live 5 doors away in Bull lane didnt make the minimum order for delivery by £1 and offered and was still refused this has happened to me several times I'm a woman and dont want to walk in the dark very very poor

After being stuck in traffic after the main bridge to the island had been closed. I had been advised that the Indian in newington was very good. After the owners and staff was also caught up in the delay in traffic to get to work and open up. I found them all so friendly and also experienced the best Indian we had ever had. Well done guys for being so friendly and topping our usual curry. Xxx

Had another great takeaway delivered quickly from Masala Takeaway. We overpaid by £20, as didn’t check the notes and they called back to inform us…true honesty and great food👍

Firstly the delivery was prompt after placing our order. The delivery guy was polite and professional. We ordered two fish dishes Goan Fish Curry and Sula Salmon Bahar. We could not differentiate between either dish. The Goan Fish Curry had salmon and not the Monkfish as advertised. The skin was left on the salmon which was horrible. The onion bhaji were ok. I will not be using this restaurant again

We were very disappointed. It took over 2 hours to come when they said about 1 hour. When it did arrive it was almost cold. We had ordered some not very spicy food for our children and it nearly blow our heads off. Do not bother wasting your time or money.

An update on a previous 5* review, the last 3 times we've had a problem of some kind and this time was the worst, called 2 hours in advance to book delivery time, 25 minutes after delivery time I called and it was only just being sent, ordered a large curry sauce and it was a small vegetable curry, my wife doesn't like vegetables so I had to go to the shop and collect a curry sauce or wait 30+ minutes for a new one. The food really is so good it's just a shame there's been so many problems recently.

Ordered and got told hour for delivery, waited a hour and half and got told 10 minutes, 2 and a half hours later it arrives and the owner wouldn’t give no discount and just said they was busy...

.....this takeaway is pretty damned good. After several failed attempts at getting a decent Indian takeaway around Rainham, I was recommended this one.... Medway, in general, is so bad at providing eating in or out food... or should I say VERY good at producing average at best. So much so that I guess that people in this area will accept any old rubbish and think it's good. (Let's face it, Spice Fusion gets great reports, but it's absolute crap) Massala was a welcome change from Medway mediocrity. It's good... in fact very very good. The menu is a bit lengthy and confusing....but the food, when it arrives, is ace . Careful you don't over-order.... The portions are quite large and very good value for money. HIGHLY recommended.

Used this Indian for a few years now and they never fail to be amazing. The food is always delicious and great price too. The staff are very understanding of dietary needs, helpful and friendly. After placing an order and going to collect he recognised me and knew I was vegan, I didn't realise the dish I asked for usually uses butter and they adapted it for me the first time after I mentioned being vegan, they very kindly remade the dish for me, and now I mention being vegan when ordering so they know not to use dairy. 5* all round

The food from Massala is ALWAYS fabulous. Every time. Newington is very lucky to have them.

We have used this take away for years. It is well established and well known as the best in the area. Large menu, reasonably priced and unbeatable for taste. I highly recommend the Manchurian chicken.

We have ordered Indian food from here for delivery several times now & it's been absolutely delicious every time. The food is absolutely restaurant standard, the flavours are amazing-easily the best Indian food that i've eaten for a long time. It always arrives quite quickly & within the time frame given. Can't recommend highly enough, definitely my go to indian takeaway now with the added bonus that they deliver to Iwade-try it, you won't be disappointed.

Went for a delivery job there was told I would be needed 4 days. When I got there at 6.15pm I was told I should have been there at five pm. Luckily I have an adroid phonewhich records all conversations and proved that I was asked to get there at 6pm. Had to miss a company xmas meal for this appointment. M y suggestion if you want a curry go somewhere else and can actually tell the time BLOODY AWFUL experience.

Ordered tonight, one of our dishes didn’t arrive with order..after a phone call it seems I forgot to order it!🙄. Masala said they would put it on express delivery and was delivered within 10 minutes. Brilliant in my opinion and food was lovely.

Ordered food on their website. Mentioned food will be delivered in 30-45 mins time. After an hour called them to be informed that their website is down on their end and hence did not receive order.

Food was delivered 1 hour after we were told it was going to be delivered. When the food was delivered it was missing dishes. I rang to ask for the dishes to be re-sent, had to ring for the second time and this had seemed to be ignored. We placed our order at 7.30pm and are now eating it at 10pm.... I asked for a refund and have been given several dishes which arrived on the second order - will not be ordering again.

Food turned up well over an hour later than stated, as a result of this food was extremely cold. To top it off items had been forgotten, absolute shocking service from start to finish.

Food arrived within given time. Best takeaway we have ever had. Cooked beautifully and plenty of meat in dishes. A little bit more expensive than most but we'll worth paying the extra.

Completely rubbish service avoid at all costs, 1st time customer looked at website that said £15 min for delivery. Called to order was told £20 min even though I am local. Was told website was out of date. Guy on the phone was rude will find somewhere else.

Ordered food was a wait got home cold and tasted burnt

Food came cold, none the less decided to eat as we was hungry. Curry wasn't very nice at all chewy chicken and very powdery sauce, very unpleasant. Contacted manager to explain to be told "not my fault you don't like it" and "if you know what it's meant to be like, come here and cook it yourself" as for a resolution, he hang up the phone. Wouldn't recommend this place one bit.
