Marks & Spencer in East Staffordshire

WE both had jacket potatoes with cheese. Hard bottoms almost too hard to cut through...impossible in places. I guess they had been kept warm for a long time...really not worth the money. Pleasant staff. Don't think we'll be going again.....

Despite my objections my Wife did a click & collect on a food order for Christmas. What an absolute balls up of a system M&S have in place! After driving around Burton on Trent in circles for half an hour trying to find the collection point which M&S didn’t bother to tell us is on New St we eventually got there. The rear delivery doors were open and because there was a huge sign saying COLLECT BY CAR COLLECTION POINT I parked up and walked in. Went to the Desk to be served by 3 absolutely clueless Ladies. Firstly the order was in plastic Trays, not Bags. £172 of food and it’s not bagged up. Thinking ahead I’d put some in the Car so went to get them only to be confronted by a closed Door with a sign saying Employees only. Well I had to get out somehow so I opened it and went out, got the Bags and on my return got a mouthful of grief from a young Lady because it’s an Employee only door. Well there’s a sign there Sweetheart that says COLLECTION POINT so jog on. Eventually got the Order and queried the palaver over the Door? Apparently you are supposed to park at the rear of the Shop, walk all the way around to the main entrance and go in that way (and back with your order I suppose?) How the bloody hell was I supposed to know this? There was nothing on the Confirmation Email my Wife had, there is nothing outside the rear entrance to say Collections this way->. If I’d wanted to P around in the Shop I’d have gone to the Shop in the first place. Needless to say I went back out the way I came in! M&S Click & Collect? Never again!! I’ll risk the Crowds in Aldi next year and probably save a packet too!!

Just like to say a big thank you to Dawn one of the managers for all her help on Wednesday 1st Feb when I had a episode with my neck she is such a lovely lady and excellent with People skills even though I was in pain she still made me smile sadly we had a long wait for the ambulance but dawn and Carl the security man were both lovely so from the bottom of my hear thank you as now a days so many people ready to call staff and moan but never enough praise thank you Kaye shelley See you at skiing dawn don’t forget the tins of salmon ham cheese and crisps xx

Just pot in for snake and a cup of tea . Very nice. Very busy hard to get a seat Staff very good will go again would recommend u to go

The title says it all. Made a visit to look for a coat. Security guard watching me, making comments as I tried coats on. I saw/heard him do the same to another lady. When I went upstairs to look for perfume - there he was again. I purchased the perfume and made a comment to the cashier that his behaviour was somewhat creepy to a lone woman. They agreed and said I was not the first person to make this comment. I couldn't get out of the shop quick enough. I avoid this M&S now.

Always enjoy the coffee here with scone and now limited edition spiced pumpkin latte and wood stone pizza loved every bit of it

We stopped by for a drink late afternoon and had a drink and some millionaires shortbread. The sustenance was fine with the cafe being very cafeteria like. It was quite an impersonal feeling but nonetheless functional. It was clean and tidy, just soulless I suppose. Would I go again ...... maybe. If I knew someone who only wanted to go there.

Having visited town two days running to collect an item on 24 hours service, I was glad of an easy to find cuppa, in a reliably bright and clean cafe. Service was as good as always, toasted teacake arrived quickly, pot had enough in for two cups, all good - thank you. The reason I give 4* here, not 5*, is that toilets to the entire shop can only be accessed by walking directly in or out through the cafe, via a particularly busy part of it too. Moreover, the toilets themselves only just do, they do not reach higher standards, which is surprising for M&S. Possibly they are on a refurbishment plan? I will certainly visit this cafe again as it basically did do the job and coped well with a busy period well. Also, it took me through the Men's department which otherwise I would have navigated around - this area of the shop looked just fabulous, styles, spread and colour - brilliant.

Regular visitor to this M&S cafe in Burton and never had a concern, until today ! Called in at 1030am, and was told they had no eggs, despite the food court downstairs having box fulls..so the veggie option for breakfast was a cheese and mushroom toasty..very disappointed. On a plus point the staff were great as usuall, the latte was up to its normal standard, but no eggs ? Come on M&S, you can do much better...Never mind, I shall be back...

Best coffee on the high street - any high street! Good value, excellent food, scones are superb - baked in store and always fresh. Good range of food, friendly staff. Need to be bit quicker clearing tables to keep queues moving. Overall - excellent. Up to M&S standards.

After going into store to return an item ordered on line this morning I was so appalled how I was treated .. because I'd removed the tags I was accused of wearing the item as it 'smelled nice" and asked to try the item on to prove it didn't fit properly .. so embarrassing cane home upset and angry to have been made to look like a liar.. will never return to an m and s store again... shocking

We went for coffee and a sandwich after a busy morning shopping. The coffee and food were good and the expected standard but the staff were extra kind and helpful to my 91 year old mother and could not do enough to help and make sure we had everything we needed. Made us feel very valued. Thank you to the staff.

Whilst I have used the shop, I haven't until now been to the Cafe. It was warm friendly with a nice atmosphere. I had a Latte and slice of cake very nice.

Needed a quick coffee break and chose M&S cafe for convenience. Friendly staff and a good selection of snacks, light meals and beverages. Would visit again.

Ok for a cake or lunch time food always a decent middle of the day lunch, not a proper meal but it's not intending to do proper meals. Staff always pleasant, they must be doing something right because it's always quite full.

Thought for a change we would have a coffee in M&s coffee shop x staff very pleasant & helpful , appears short staff , staff running to clear tables and extremely fast turn over, drinks were good & reasonably priced

Stopped for a cup of coffee here suring a shopping trip. Place was very busy and had to wait a while for a table. Coffee was excellent, good size and nice and hot. However whilst queuing I was tempted into a jacket potato with chilli. At 4.95 it wasn't particularly cheap but I thought being M&S it would be good. It came and it must have been the smallest jacket potato I have ever seen in my life. It had a very small portion of chilli on it, which although was tasty, wasn't spicy in the slightest. It had a side salad which did come with the most gorgeous salad dressing I have ever tasted, but it was the chilli potato I wanted! Very disappointing, would not eat here again.

Me and my mum decided to try the m&s; afternoon tea for 2 I was really pleased. Lovely fresh sandwiches, scones , mini cakes and a pot of tea each too. It was presented lovely and worth every penny. Will defiantly go back

Fui aquí la semana pasada en el restaurante 3 mesas no se habían resuelto el suelo estaba sucio. Pedí una sopa del personal comprado en la mesa. Yo le pregunté por favor limpiar la mesa, ya que estaba sucio que dejó y no volver. Tuve que pedir otro miembro del personal de limpieza

taza de café decente a un precio medio ... Mi madre es de 81 y parece ser la edad ideal para apreciar el ambiente de M y S.

No es tan bueno como lo recordaba. Ahora tienden a comprar en el Tamworth Branch y el servicio en el café es excelente. considerados por la comida intolerancia, se esfuerzan para apoyar y satisfacer al cliente. Esto es lo que debería ser la norma. Espero...

Como este lugar pero llena y muy rápidamente. No es para las personas que les gusta mucho espacio. También es muy popular entre personas mayores que no son demasiado interesado en , pequeñas personas.

Me and my nan tried the cafe for the first time because i had heard from a friend that said it was good and my nan goes in M&S; to buy food so we went there and i had to stand in the line for ages we decided to have a sandwhice which was overpriced it didnt taste very fresh the lady that served me was rude and unhelpful and customer service is shockingly bad so take my advice and avoid this please

Tenía un delicioso bungaloes de carne de chili y un capuchino aquí y lo disfrutamos a tope! muy sabrosa ... y agradable, el personal es amable.

Been to Burton for many years, I have seen a great improvement in recent times and it actually was an enjoyable experience, This past weekend was a shock many stores have gone, so many pound stores in place of them and M & S is the one light left.

What I really like here are the friendly staff. The store opens at 8, before many of the surrounding shops, and the red berry tea is lovely ( and calorie free )

When eating out, don't forget that in most towns, (not only Burton on Trent,) there will be an M & S cafe revive serving excellent quality snacks, scones, cakes, sandwiches, soups etc.at reasonable prices. Their lemon drizzle cake is a treat not to be missed! (And no, I don't work for M & S!!!) You will not be disappointed.

Nice shop, the food on offer is great quality and choice, Lovely display of Easter food which attracted my grand daughter and tempted me to buy a tray of easter eggs for friends and family!Quite a good selection of childrens clothing but not a great choice compared with Derby for ladies

Small coffee shop hidden away upstairs in the corner, lovely for meeting friends in town. As always Victoria sponge in M&S cafe is outstanding and washed down with a nice lattee, fantastic! Enjoy!

This store does not rank amongst the top echelon of M&S stores. It is small by most standards and tends to stock items that have not sold in the larger, more 'sophisticated' stores. However, staff are good and the ambience is acceptable.

allways slow same as every m and s , very friendly staff, standard m and s , brilliant food hall and no parking fee !
