Viviendo en Scarborough me gustaría pensar que conozco bien el pescado con papas fritas cuando lo consiga. El eglefino y las patatas fritas que recibimos de Marks esta noche eran realmente excelentes. Muy recomendable. Phil

Esta es una hospitalidad increíble aquí. Pedimos un grupo de más de 20 niños y nos trataron a todos muy amable. Muy servicial y asombroso pescado y patatas fritas nuggets de pollo bocados y bebidas.

I ordered fishcake and chips. I expected the fishcake to be filled with fluffy mash and pieces of fish covered in batter (how a fishcake should be). What was in the batter was a grey block of disgustingness. The chips were cold and like cardboard. Over the road from this chippy is Renard's fish and chips. I advise you go there.

Very friendly staff and fast service for fresh and tasty eat in or takeaway fish and chips. Suited us as we were driving through and didn’t want to go to the centre or sea front. Small place with no frills but good honest fish and chips at good value for money. We were the only diners at 5pm on Saturday evening. Could do with paying more attention to some of the details like having the following in the toilet: a lightbulb, toilet paper, paper towels.

We had our lunch at Marks Fish & Chip cafe today. The two guys who served us could not have done any more. They showed us where to park our car due to us been with an elderly person which was lovely. They were near closing time but welcomed us in to serve us. The three of us had the most delicious cod and chips with scraps of course and mushy peas. We all had tea for just over £26, what an absolute bargain. Do yourself a favour and try this place as the service and food are fantastic. Well worth traveling from Middlesbrough to eat here. Not on the sea front but well worth finding them on Castle Road. See on our next trip to Scarbourough.

Medium haddock and chips thought it would come as one fillet but came in two pieces not really a problem but when I tried to cut into the first piece it wouldn’t cut the batter just fell away revealing what looked like a yellow piece of rubber it was a dried out stale piece of very old fish about 3mm thick. The staff were really nice but when you serve fish like this as an eat in there is something very wrong.

Visited on our last day in Scarborough party of 7, didn't know wether to order small medium or Large, asked what the "Golden Years Special" was and the waitress explained, sml Fish and Chips, 1 side and a pot of tea. It was £8.95 per person. We ordered 6 and 1 chip butty for the young en, well what can I say, If that fish was small Im glad I didn't go bigger, 7 well fed very happy customers. Thankyou.

Ok, I had large haddock, chips and large currie. Wife had Golden Years special with currie. Delivery was on time. Food was still hot and delicious upon arrival. Fish was cooked to perfection. We both ate more than we should have. But, hey ho. We first used Marks during lock down and always had good food The cost was fair considering the present climate.

Brilliant. Struggled to find somewhere selling cod. Having looked around and moving away from the seafront, these did and we were not disappointed. Good portions, quality and price. Scrummy. Served the way you ask for them (peas over the chips and fish on top). No bitty chips either. Have visited before and will definitely go again.

Before the pandemic we used to eat at Marks on quite a regular basis and after a long break we visited again today. We think it has changed hands recently, but this hasn't changed the meals at all. We both had Cod, Chips and Mushy Peas with a breadcake & butter and a tea and a coffee, excellent value fo £21. The batter was so light, yet crisp, the chips were cooked to perfection. Give this little café a tr, you won't be disappointed.

Visited for lunch today. Served by two lovely ladies. Food was cooked freshly and you don’t mind waiting when it’s as good as this. Last time I was in Scarbados for the cricket this became a regular lunch stop

Sat inside and we both had fish chips and peas.Freshly cooked. Very nice can't fault it. Excellent service from Kimberly. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I wanted to have fish and chips by the sea but it was a sunny Sunday and the sea front was very busy so we walked up into to town and I stopped a lovely lady who had a Sainsburys uniform on so I knew she was local and asked her for her recommendation she suggested Marks . It was tucked away but we found it, it had a small eating area in the back so we ordered one large haddock which only just fitted on the plate and I had medium haddock which was still a good size. The batter was beautifully light and crispy and the fish was fresh and moist cooked to perfection. The chips were real potato chips which were very tasty and all such good value we polished off the lot! I could eat it again now! The young lady that served us was very friendly and chatty I hope she had a nice 18th birthday and I can't wait to visit again next time we're in the area.

Fabulous fish and chips. We got two portions of the Golden Years Special (small fish and chip with a portion of peas, BTW there's no age limit!). We took them to Scarborough Cricket Club to watch a match. The fish and chips are right up there with the Lifeboat as the best in Scarborough. I can't honestly decide which are the best.

Visited today at lunch time. We like our fish slightly undercooked and asked the girl serving for two small cod & chips with the fish lightly cooked. They had just opened so everything was cooked fresh. The fish was a very good size, which was a nice suprise and the chips were well cooked and not pale. It was fabulous and will be on our list as one of the best. Well done.

Our third or fourth “Lockdown Fish & Chip Delivery” and probably the best. Delivered bang on time and everything cooked to perfection. Perfect

Marks has become my regular Thursday evening place to visit to pick up fish, chips and mushy peas. I order by phone, given a time to collect, pay with contactless, back home to enjoy. Always good quality and hot

Went for Lunch in seated area at rear with my Partner, Ordered Haddock & Chips, Peas, Bread and Pot of Tea. It was fabulous, everything we had was perfect, service was great too, recommend and will call in again. We knew it was going to be good, there were locals also eating and they said they went to Marks every week...

Ordered the Golden Special which consisted of fish, chips and mushy peas. The peas were the worst ever, undercooked and hard. The size of the fish was extra extra small and the portion of chips meagre. Although well cooked for £5.80 was not good value for money.Been to this fish and chip shop previously and been satisfied with the food but on this occasion very disappointed.

We called in about 20 minutes before the cafe closed, but that was no problem, we placed our order and the drinks arrived first. We sat chatting and the food turned up, the food was cooked absolutely perfect, the chips were amazing, crisp on the outside and soft in the centre, as you can see from the picture a perfect brown colour. The cod was very well cooked and had the lightest batter ever, which was not greasy and perfectly crisp.The mushy peas were great...The child portions were very generous and the kids didn’t manage to finish them, but they did comment on how nice the food was, which is rare for my kids.. The serving staff were nice and friendly. The food was great..Next time we are in Scarborough this is going to be on the list as the first place to get fish and chips from...

Fantastic little place. Everything is cooked to order, fish is fresh, and the gravy and curry are lovely and thick. The staff are talkative and polite. Great find!

Great every time we've been. Chips can be a bit thick and greasy but most times no problem. Fish is skinned and boned. Service good. Nice curry sauce.

We live in Scarborough but this had the first time we have stopped here for fish and chip take out. Everything was cooked to order and piping hot. Delicious!

Very friendly and accommodating and dog friendly, small fish and chip cafe off the main stretch. Also does takeaway. Closes at 7pm. Lovely fish, good portions and very helpful

Considering its fishing heritage and first seaside resort Scarborough doesn't have too many really good fish and chip shops. This is one of the few! Cooked to order, absolutely superb and well worth the visit!
