Marks and Spencer Cafe in Nottingham

i had bacon cob and coffee, was ill for four days. i was on loo a lot every day.i was house bound.only other food that day was weeyabix in morning.coffee was very strong.only plus staff were polite.

Really nice cafe. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Food was lovely, hot and reasonably priced. Would recommend and would come again👍🏻

cakes nice.de-caff not very good. staff polite. while we were eating. a old man was cleaning and taking trays away.we both noticed he cleaned the middle of the tables, but none of any corners. not a good advert for mark and spencers.

Terrible! Staff arguing in front of customers . . . One of the staff called Hannah announcing in front of customers that she was pi$$#d off! She was clearly annoyed not listening to customer orders properly ... dirty cutlery. Food was nice but staff not good at all.

Myself and 2 sisters cal?ed in for coffee and cake, over heated, tables not cleared, I had to do it myself and the wait for the coffee was unbelievable, never experienced anything like it ! Staff talking to each other rather than serving and if they went any slower they'd be at a complete standstill, we cheered and applauded when we finally got our coffee ! Mind you, the cake was lovely.

The service was terrible, the staff were so slow. Everyone was fed up queuing for so long. The cake section was very messy and uncared for. Tables hadn't been cleared and the chairs were dirty.

Visited with a friend at lunchtime today. Only paper plates and cups. When queried we were Informed the dish washer was broken and staff were "not allowed" to wash crockery and cutlery. Many food items were not available so settled for toasted tea cake. Very disappointing. Will give it a miss next time we are in town.

Underwhelming experience from M& S cafe today. Poor service. Staff chatting together. Tables not cleared. Had to clear a table and ask for equipment to clean it with and clean it myself before eating! Was giving it a second chance after a recent rubbish visit. Won't be going back. Come on M & S! Up your game!!!

I was looking for a quick and easy lunch before an appointment and know M&S food to be generally good quality, so thought it would be a good choice. The only gluten free lunch item available was a jacket potato. Ordering one with cheese and coleslaw got me a bone dry potato with no butter, a bare sprinkle of cheese and a pile of raw vegetables, for about twice the price I normally pay at the university cafe for a far better meal. I will give M&S Cafe a miss in future.

90% of all the tables and chairs needed cleaning. Absolutely disgusting. Coffee was bitter. We stayed there less than 10 minutes as was literally surrounded by uncleared tables as far as the eye could see. 2pm on a Sunday, wasn’t busy at all…

What lovely staff and a great cup of coffee like always!!! It was my sons birthday we went in for a lite snack and coffee and the staff were so friendly 1 member sang happy birthday to him and he was given a chocolate lolly.

Good grief the staff in the cafe have two speeds - dead slow and stop. They struggled with track and trace, they only had one person making drinks and none of the tables had been cleared! Sad to see

Venga con mis amigos a estudiar como lo hago todos los jueves y viernes por la mañana, en los que probablemente gasté unas 20 libras cada semana y la señora Andrea tuvo la mejilla para venir y pedirnos que nos fuéramos cuando claramente todavía quedaba una taza de té. la mesa en la que todavía había bebida. Puedo agregar que todo el café estaba vacío y que no había necesidad de sacarnos tan poco profesionalmente. Trabajando en una cafetería, todavía estoy más allá de las palabras sobre cómo manejó las cosas demostrando un servicio de muy baja calidad, lo que parece una pena cuando el otro personal parece tan encantador y acogedor. El café en sí era bueno y valía la pena regresar, sin embargo, si buscas un lugar donde te reciban y te traten con respeto, no te molestes.

Saturday lunch time visit to the Marks & Spencer cafe, it was very busy, but the jacket potato with beans and Bacon roll arrived very quickly, good food, good service.

Nos detuvimos en el café M&S esperando que la comida fuera de alta calidad aquí. Lamentablemente nos quedamos decepcionados. Tuve una hamburguesa de pollo que se servía como una hamburguesa pequeña y pan con una cuchara de ensalada de col. El pollo estaba duro y quemado y parecía microondas. A mi esposa no le importó su papa de chaqueta pero su tetera no era agradable. La elección de los niños fue bastante limitada y no les gustó. Tampoco estoy seguro de por qué necesitan comprar patatas fritas en Dinamarca.En general no disfrutamos la experiencia y no volveremos. Hay lugares mucho mejores para almorzar.

When we go to Nottingham we always visit the marks and Spencer cafe over the furniture shop.warren behind the counter is the most helpful and friendly person.nothing is too much trouble for him.he makes our day.the coffee is good as well

Busy Saturday lunchtime visit to the Marks and Spencer cafe for jacket potato and beans, you can't go wrong, quick and pleasant service, not too busy so easy to get seated.

Visited for a hot drink with my partner and son, was told there was no dairy alternative milk meaning that they DO NOT cater for those with dairy/milk allergies, intolerances or those who are vegan- in today’s society this is not acceptable.. alternative milks are not expensive and most wouldn’t mind paying an extra fee for the option of having a hot drink. Very poor experience!

Me tomó un tiempo escribir esta crítica, pero después de que nuestra cafetería habitual estaba cerrada cuando queríamos el desayuno, decidimos ir a esta cafetería, ya que sus marcas no podían ser tan malas. . . . . ¡Qué equivocados estábamos!¡No podemos entender cómo estaba tan ocupado tampoco!El desayuno fue espantoso, ¡ambos fuimos por un inglés completo! Los huevos para mi estaban secos. . . Mi esposo se fue a hacer pochas y estaban bastante al horno. Los champiñones estaban fuera de lata y recalentados. La salchicha y la tostada fueron las únicas cosas que se consumieron en mi plato. Sinceramente, me decepcionó mucho porque quería ir a obtener un reembolso, pero no había personal para quejarme y las cajas estaban apiladas. Tenía 7 meses de embarazo en este momento y ya no quería estar esperando, solo quería salir de allí.

Solo 2 opciones de pastel - pastel de arroz crujiente o bollos - que es un poco pobre considerando la opción para ninguno celíacos. Hoy pedí un solo bollo y mermelada, ¡pero me dijeron que tenía que comprar 2 bollos! ¿Por qué no puedo comprar un bollo como otros clientes? Me fui en ese punto

Largos tiempos de espera, comida sin sabor, precios demasiado altos para lo que obtienes.Visitamos con padres y familiares de Irlanda. Tenía 3 tés, 1 café y 4 tostadas. Conseguimos las bebidas calientes mientras pagábamos, pero después de 20 minutos tuvimos que perseguir la comida, ya que todos habíamos terminado o bebidas. Toasties calentados luego salieron. Muy insípido y caro para lo que eran. Lo único bueno era que el café era encantador y el personal de enfrente es amable y eficiente. Sin duda no volveré a visitarlo y no lo recomendaré, ya que hay una gran cantidad de lugares mejores en la ciudad tanto para las bebidas como para la comida.

Basic M and S cafe but not the full range on offer. Coffee ok no biscuit on plate as given in other M and S cafes. Place empty and tables a bit messy as though nobody had collected pots and trays.

On a busy Xmas Saturday, this place was good for a pit stop lunch during Xmas shopping, speedy service, easy to locate a table, good jacket potato and coffee

De Marks and Spencer in Nottingham is zoals je het verwacht; een echte M&S.; Ook de supermarkt in de kelder is goed gesorteerd.

Normally this place is on point for breakfast and scones but this time we had lunch. There was no fish and chips so chose the ham, cheese and pickle pie (it probably has a fancy name but I can’t remember)

Admittedly we were a little late for lunch, 13:45 but we expected good food to be served all day. There was only one portion of fish and chips left which my wife had, but the mushy peas portion was very small and the chips were hardly cooked without any crispness. I ordered "all-day breakfast" only to be told they had run out!! I ended up with some sort of gammon pie, new potatoes and salad. The pie was tasty but quite fatty. Come on M&S;, pull your socks up.

Popped in for tea and scones with my daughter. Lovely light,moist scones,clotted cream and delicious mixed berry jam. All served with a great cup of tea. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.

I had full English breakfast small portion of tomatoes and the mushrooms portions was so small they had been overcooked had better there for how much you pay and it could have been warmer to

Treating my daughter & granddaughter to a m&s; hot chocolate what's happened!! now I've had a lovely one in the past but today's was the worst hot chocolate drink I've ever had and was not worth paying £2.65 for I've had better out of a drinks machine!!

Took ourselves off to Nottingham yesterday for a shopping trip and a spot of lunch at M&S; where we have been many times. Now I know your in a bit of trouble M&S; but do you really have to pass it on to your customer's. We order our usual beer batter fish and chips and the fish look like a cheap imitation of cod and also like it had never been near any batter the chips were okay but the whole experience was very disappointing. We will be voting with our feet and its a lunch venue off our list which is a shame on you M&S; is certainly going down hill.

This is a great place for a quick coffee. Food is available, but limited in choice and rather pricey.

Went in today, even though there is a symbol for gluten free on the board there were none associated with any meal choice. We had cheese on a jacket potato each. When it finally came, the cheese portion was dismal. Thankfully the staff agreed to add some more, she came back to say they had to go get some more cheese. By the time it came back my husband was half way through his. It was still hot though and with more cheese. I did ask if the small amount was the usual size and was told yes. Looks like they were too busy to go get the cheese and were giving out miserly portions. As i am gluten free I eat alot of jacket potatoes and this was the worst offering, I'd expect better from M&S;.

I hope the general manager of this store reads my review. Again there was a delay ordering food whilst the two staff finished their conversation. This time we ordered just two soups. How hard can that be? We waited fully 20 mins before it arrived and I could see other people waiting and looking quite annoyed. At least we had plenty of time to observe the staff. It wasn't very busy but many of the tables were not cleared. When staff members came out with an order, they returned to the kitchen and walked past these tables. Why not clear them on the way back instead of making two jobs out of one? When wiping the tables down any debris was just wiped onto the floor or the seats. Not good at all. This is not a staffing problem but a training problem. Frankly it was embarrassing to see. The soup was very good but I won't be back.

We decided to stop off here whilst in the midst of Christmas shopping for a quick cup of tea. Time was getting on and it appeared any sort of food service had finished.

Slow tills average food with 5 star price tags! Come on m&s; your better then this! It all looks lovely but the cakes were dry! The sandwich tasteless and it took ages to get to the till !..... it’s lunch time expect to be be busy get more tills or organize the staff better. I don’t mind a little wait but really 30 mins!

Lovely coffee and a great cheese toastie...well worth a visit whilst in town..ideal place to recharge your batteries

In Nottingham today today 4th Nov 2017 and fancied a sandwich for lunch and decided to try M and S. This was a first time ever in one of their cafes. Found a seat ok and a pleasant young chap came and cleared the table. My wife fetched us sandwiches and drinks and I must admit they were very nice. Very fresh, moist and lots of ingredients in them. Will Def try there again

After a morning shopping in Nottingham my husband and I went for the first time to M&S; cafe they had a very varied menu and we settled for beer batter fish and chips. And we were not disappointed they were delicious they were hot and crispy just how we like them and we shall certainly be going back for more, the staff were very friendly and helpful would recommend

Second visit here and its clean tidy ,well decorated with staff that do a really good job .

I have been here several times and although the service has been slow the soup and rolls were nice. This time my wife and I arrived to order food and the lady behind the desk was busy doing something. What, I don't know. A man then arrived, spoke to the lady, looked at us and walked away. The woman then also disappeared. When after a few minutes she reappeared she took our order. Not a good start. My wife had soup which was good. I had Cod and Chips. The Cod was OK but no more. The chips were a disaster; leathery on the outside, dry and tasteless on the inside. It was like chewing rubber. I did mention it before I left to a member of staff. I will return if the service at the order point improves but I will never again have anything with chips.

Such a lovely array of cakes, but nothing for gluten free customers except a packet of rice crispies cake. And if you're vegan there is nothing. According to the Coeliac Society, 10% of the population have some sort of gluten intolerance and 1% of this country is vegan. About time M&S; recognised that fact

Love the layout but the menu is a little confusing .

Really good latte, although the service could be a bit more "enthusiastic" let's say. Would go back to try the food.

Visited with my niece on busy Saturday afternoon, we picked our food and drinks and got seated quite easily. The staff in the cafe were all friendly and helpful. Will definitely return again.

I have eaten lunch here on many occasions. The food is always tasty and well-made. The cafe is huge so even at the busiest times I have always been able to find a free table. The drinks are nice and service always good.

I really do not understand why this cafe is always busy.

Yesterday my wife and I visited the cafe in the M&S; store in Nottingham to have a cream tea. We met my brother and his wife there but were told on arrival that they don't do cream teas anymore. We were a bit taken aback as to be honest this was probably one of the best cream teas we have had anywhere and at a reasonable price. My brother was talking to the manager about the situation and to be fair to her she had only just joined M&S; so didn't know why they had stopped them.

As you would expect it's on the pricier side but sometimes when you stop by (particularly evenings) you might spot a few of the yellow stickers and you can get some very nice quality food on the cheap. It's a particularly good place to visit if you need some more specialist or high-end ingredients that you might not find elsewhere. Some products that come to mind are the fruit coulis, the mojito and pina colada mixes and courgette spaghetti e.t.c...

Very slow service , not enough staff, seating was poor limited space in cafe area. Large que for the toilet.

I'm not a great fan of the concept of plonking an open cafe in the middle of a clothes store..... the food odours alone can't be doing the stock any good, and this cafe compounds the problem by being so open on two sides.

A lovely pot of tea with enough for 2 cups. Sandwiches as always are delicious, smoked salmon, egg smoked ham and cheese. Scones with pots of thick cream and jams to follow.

Very nice Cafe and excellent coffee, however the two girls behind the counter were carrying on a private conversation in front of customers in the queue. This was inappropriate behaviour and very unprofessional.

If you have a lot of time to spare, then go here. But it is not suitable for anyone who is on their lunch break.

Over the years I've been shopping to M&S; and really enjoyed what they do .

You can always rely on M&S; when it comes to a good cup of tea and a bit of cake, service is a little slow, so don't think you can pop in for a quick cuppa. Everything is clean and tidy, tables are not cluttered with dirty pots. Staff are helpful and friendly...

Lovely decor and light from the nearby windows. The place is spacious but can be noisy at times. On a recent visit the vegeterian options had been cut back to just one hot meal, Jacket pot with cheese, these days that is ridiculous, have complained but no joy.

Service so so so slow. We just queued and queued for a hot chocolate and a tea. We had shopped all day and just wanted to sit down with a cuppa. . The drinks were good when we finally got them but not really worth the effort.

I was in Nottingham for two days and visited both M & S cafés visiting the one in the main store on the first day but I preferred the one in the home store but only because it was quieter the tea was very good in both cafes

On a shopping trip called in here for a cup of coffee. Fast service but the seating area was a bit crammed, Ok for a quick snack.

We popped in for a late breakfast and both had the salmon and egg bloomer and 2 medium lattes. The bloomers were tasty but definitely not good value for money. Hardly any salmon, 2 minute slithers and I think I must have shared the scrambled egg with my friend? Fairtade coffee was delicious one of the main reasons for my return visits. Staff pleasant enough but I agree with other reviews, tables need to be cleared and cleaned more efficiently, although this is a sizeable cafe I have had to clear my own table on several occasions. Window seats comfortable and relaxing with pleasant views of gardens at rear of St. Peters church.

Decent coffee blend, tea in a pot and the usual range of M & S sandwiches and cakes. The environment is well kept and the service very good. As there are now two cafes you can choose. My favourite is the smaller one in the home store. It has a quieter environment and the staff who have been there for a few years are very pleasant and accomodating

We visited M and S restaurant for lunch on Saturday May 9th .We weren't sure where to eat as we were a little limited with time. I suggested Marks as you can pretty much guarantee their food to be of good quality.

The Cafe in the main store has much improved the options for eating at M&S.; That said, the old cafe in the home store has been given a bit of a facelift.

What has happened to Marks and Spencer? Their customer service is without a doubt the WORST I have ever witnessed. Whilst doing a food shop today, I approached the checkout to be met only with a sneer. This delightful woman then proceeded to overcharge me for my shop without so much of a smile. When I raised her mistake, there was no apology; she told me to go to customer services and looked at me like a had a third eye when I asked where that was. They look down their noses at you, it seems, unless your dressed in a three piece suit to do your weekly shop, and always make it seem as though you are wasting their time by being there.

i choose. m and S because of the ease of access with a wheelchair. The quality of food is always good. The prices are moderately priced. The downside is the service is slow whenever we have been early or late . The hot sandwiches arrive before the tea is made. Tables are not cleared and wiped always do it myself. Staff always appear rushed . Such a shame as its a great venue for old and young. Young mums struggle with the self service and there are no free staff to help the girl on the till with a long queue had to go.

This was my second visit and I think the restaurant is nicely set out.

I had a birthday voucher for an afternoon tea, the restaurant was busy but as it is large we were able to get a seat. I asked a member of staff what I needed to do with my voucher and she took care of it all for me asking me to select scones and sandwiches. Everything was bought over to our table on a lovely little stand and I was made to feel very special, had a lovely time and look forward to returning.

Thought this new M and S restaurant looked inviting so we decided to order lunch. After paying at the till and finding a table you place a metal plate on the table to enable waiting on staff to locate you. Seating is comfortable and outlook reasonable.

What's happened to M&S;? New restaurant in the main store is appalling. Service is awful.

Well done M&S; Last week 3 slices of toast, 3 individual pots containing jam, marmalade & butter - Cost £1.95. This week - no longer available. Now two slices of toast, 1 small jar of jam (no choice) and 2 pre- wrapped portions of butter - Cost £2. Downmarket and an increase in price. No wonder you are struggling to compete with the opposition. No thanks.

The afternoon tea was reasonably priced, which was fortunate. There was only one barista and a backlog was forming. We had to share a jam-pot and the cream for the scones had solid yellow bits. The tea and coffee were good and the scones delicious.

First of all, no clean plates by cake section...but plenty of dirty ones around. Had to pinch a saucer from the pile by the till. Then couldn't find any cutlery/butter for scone had purchased. Girl on till was very sweet but she didn't know either (queue forming behind me). Asked her mate who put one knife in container beside me.

Pleasant, clean, always have to wait for coffee.....but then it's worth waiting for. No dislikes really...could have a bit more choice.

Had a long wait for a coffee because no-one knows where to queue for food or what at this square pay area.

This was good for a mid morning or afternoon bite. Being used to eating my main meal mid day this is no good

I've been here a few times and the thing that has always struck me is the poor customer service. They are often slow, too many staff doing the same thing behind the counter and the way that the staff talk to the customers can sometimes be short. The queuing area is narrow and staff are often asking customers to move so they can get by with a tray trolley. This is frustrating as M&S; cafes are so often reliable. The food is fine and what you'd expect (which is a good thing) but customer service is poor.

Had afternoon tea for two here which was on special offer. Wow what a bargain... Even included a couple of glasses of sparkling wine. And the ladies serving were so welcoming! Would have gone back daily if we'd only been staying longer.

My, the cakes looked almost too good to eat! The portion sizes are good too. I had a ham and cheese toastie, you can have this on its own, or with a leafy salad. The coffee comes in 3 sizes, but the smallest size is ample. The quality of the coffee was excellent. The tables were clean, but there was a lot of crockery noise from behind the screen from time to time. I went just after the lunchtime rush (1:50pm) and there were plenty of free tables by then. There are two toilets available, both well equipped for the disabled and baby changing.
