Mango's in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Seems great to start with. However, if the bouncers take even a slight disliking to the general look of you, they will eject you for no apparent reason, leaving you waiting outside for your friends whilst wondering what the hell happened. I understand if it’s for a safety purpose such as being disorderly or encouraging bad behaviour, and for the record I am completely on board with that so as to keep everyone safe and happy in the long run. But from my self’s and a lot of other’s experiences, the bouncers’ that are employed here are far too stupid to have any sort of a decent discussion about what is going on and so it’s not worth arguing. For example, I was forcefully ejected from the establishment, with a bouncer taking control of both my arms and my neck in what I perceived to be a completely illegal chokehold fashion, simply the moment I paid for a Gin and Tonic at the bar. Their reasoning was that they had disallowed my person from ordering any more drinks, and so they waited until I purchased drinks from the bar staff as opposed to asking me to leave beforehand. I won’t blame anyone reading this for thinking that I am the idiot and that I should have abided by their rules and that I would have been well warned about what would occur. However, the facts are that I wasn’t told, and nor were my cohort of friends. The ejection was sudden and without warning or any compromise. I have never experienced a more disrespectful, nonsensical and dangerous approach to public safety within a public establishment. Please be warned if you go here that your safety is not their priority. They seriously need to review their security policy and how it is implemented to ensure a safe environment for all. I’m genuinely surprised they’ve been trading for as long as they have under current rules. I could only recommend that they have a serious think about their policies and operating procedures and that anyone who goes there does so with severe caution.

Came down to Cornwall with some friends from uni, had a good time however at the end of the night got asked by bouncers if me (south Asian) and my friend (white) had any drugs on us, told them that we both had none however bouncers proceeded to search only me even though both my white friend and I were accused of this. Would not have been a problem if both of us got searched however as I was the only one searched (even though BOTH of us were accused) I am led to believe there were some racist motives behind this.

the bouncers started arguing with us.. and it was very clear they were under the influence of many things. Then the big one purposely stood on my friends toe knowing he would break it!! so rude VERY DISAPPOINTED 😠😠😠

Security was rude on the outset, before coming in, then I saw an elderly woman have her bag searched by same security gay inside. She had a bottle from earlier in her bag, everyone did to be fair, you could go from pub to pub with your drinks. Such was the atmosphere, But saw this burly security guy roughly man handle her out of the pub after taking the bottle. Really nasty bullying behaviour, which lets the whole place down. We all left after seeing that!!

Lovely place! Bouncers so lovely! Really helped out in a situation! Especially the blonde lady couldn’t thank them enough! Lovely place to go and feels very homely and friendly! Xx

I went to Mangos with my mates last night, queued for 30 minutes and was targeted by the bouncer who approached me and said that someone had told him that he saw a "brown guy" in a checked shirt pee in the alleyway at the side of the club. This obviously was not me but as I am mixed race he pin pointed me and physically pushed me out of the queue and told me "f*** off" and when I told him it was not me he said I was a "tw*t" and a "c**t". People in the queue also vouched for me but he did not listen. It completely ruined my night, I felt degraded and humiliated in front of lots of people and my friends. I was discriminated for something I did not do and was an obvious racist attack on me.

Me and my friend decided to get the bus from Truro to Falmouth as Truro was a bit dead. We got there about 1 and went straight to mangos to get our stamps and was let in with no problems. About an hour later we went outside and tried to get back in, the security on the door at the time tried to refuse to let us back in because he thought we was some girls he told off earlier that night in grapes car park for “sniffing coke”. Me and my friend stayed in mangos the whole night since we got there so it wasn’t us. When we tried to tell the security man it wasn’t us and he had got us mixed up with someone else because we hadn’t even been down grapes car park the whole night he told us to “f**k off then” and let us in the club. Yes, fair enough he let us in when he knew we were right and he was wrong but there is no need to speak to someone like that, especially as a grown man to 2 young girls. Just because they have he word “security” on there jacket they think they’re hard as nails. Once again, disappointed by this club but not surprised.

blonde guy with thin lips working on the eve of 25th November on the second floor bar is extremely rude. ignored us whilst waiting to be served, serving people that were just coming up to the bar from the left and when i said that we had been waiting there for a while he mocked us with his hands making a “yapping” motion. i then later saw him do this to another customer, completely ignoring him at the bar and serving people from the left as they’ve just come up to the bar. seriously needs some training in how you treat customers and react when there’s a slight complaint, as a bartender myself i would never make those hand motions to customers.

Me and my friend went out drinking for halloween weekend. My friend was so drunk she was in a very bad way throwing up in the toilet, I tried for 15 minutes to get her a glass of water at the bar but no one would take any notice or listen to me. A security guard who luckily knew her carried her out of the bathroom to go outside and managed to go into the back and get a drink of water for her. If it wasn’t for that security guard I would have been waiting even longer for some water. I’m disgusted by this service, i understand it was a busy night but seriously? And when we was outside she was still very bad on the floor lent over not talking, the staff on the front door even the manager looked over but no one came to see if she was okay. Absolutely appalling.

We arrived at around 10pm, at first it seemed like an enjoyable evening. We lost a friend of our party of 4, at circa 01:00. The staff could not have been less helpful. We left the establishment and were not allowed inside after looking on the roads outside the bar. My friend was also pushed violently, after asking to come back inside to locate our friend. The staff told us they “don’t care where he is, or if he’s alive”. They also pushed my friend aggressively, so hard, that his head almost crashed into the solid floor, which I caught before smacking the concrete, which very easily could have killed him. I had to intercept his fall, to cradle his skull. A genuinely horrendous experience. I would discourage anybody from every visiting this place, ever again. Violent. Unfriendly. Deadly.

This place was so lovely! The staff was warm and welcoming We had cheese on toast to eat what was perfect... it wasn’t your standard cheese on toast it was thick fresh bread with ample of cheese, Just yummy. Will definitely be coming back on my next trip to Cornwall.

Mango’s is good for a messy night out, but I reallly wouldn’t bother any other time.They offer a wide selection of drinks which is great! The toilets were FILTH. PURE FILTH. This is defiantly somewhere that id recommend for a night out in the town (for drinks) but not much else. The atmosphere wasn’t great and theres soooo many other great places in Falmouth.

We happened upon Mangos while on a day visit to Falmouth and were looking for somewhere to have lunch. The gourmet cheese on toast was epic and my grandson had loaded chips which was an extremely generous portion all for a very reasonable price. My wife loved the cocktails and they kept a decent pint of Tribute even though it's aimed at younger people with lots of American beers and Jamaican Red Stripe on tap too. I understand it gets a bit lively in the evenings where it becomes a nightspot with DJ's but on a Saturday afternoon it was a very pleasant and hospitable place to catch up with the sport and enjoy lunch with a good selection of drinks too. It will definitely be a port of call on my next visit to Falmouth.

It's okay, food is fair and everything is clean. Sometimes it's quiet, sometimes it's jammed. I keep having weird interactions with staff until I know some of their names. I think they're okay, but just need to tone it down with their antics, sometimes it feels like its going to get choppy.

We visited on two occasions in the same night and what a transformation. First time we entered a pub that was deserted with little atmosphere, still had a good whisky and chat. The went in alter absolutely banging with action and buzzing with an electric atmosphere. Would go again and try the food.

All of our food was spot on! Ordering the food on the other hand was slow and tedious with the guy who served us but wouldn’t stop us calling in again if we were in the area.

They really didn’t like us because we didn’t quite look the part. Every single bouncer was against us, they didn’t quite know how to be nice to someone from out of town.

Called in for lunch whilst site seeing in Falmouth centre. My wife had a Macaroni Cheese which was volcanically hot. But tasty when she could eat it. i had one off the open toasted sandwiches delicious. good selection of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Portion of chips looked excellent value.

Stopped here for lunch with my partner after he bought a boat in the area. Nice looking pub but not a lot

Cocktails were decent and I think they are 2 for 1 from 5-7pm most days. Shots were good too and pretty cheap. It was quiet when we were there but seemed like a reasonable bar for a few drinks.

Popped here with friends as one of our group wanted a cocktail. We were not disappointed. Good value and good cocktails! I recommend the zombie 😂 my friends also said the strawberry daiquiri and the cucumber gin were great!

Lovely place and staff apart from the bouncers who were rude, disrespectful and treated us like scum the whole night. Me and my mate went out for a smoke and ended up getting banned because we tried to get back in (where we’d left our drinks and bags with our mates) and were refused entry, then banned because we didn’t have stamps, which were not needed downstairs, which was where we were drinks, hence why we didn’t have one. We were treated like criminals and not allowed to collect our belongings. We only got our stuff back because our mates brought our stuff out

Managed to get in for happy hour, the place was empty and looked very big. The bar staff were friendly and made us some nice cocktails. There were a lot of posters on the walls for evening events I think near enough something for every day, and can imagine this gets a bit busier than it was when we went.

On my first visit here I got straggled by some random guy, I then told the security what had happened and he turned round and said ‘ he’s a nice guy it’s fine’ I then went downstairs to tell another security guard and his response was ‘ we alreAdy know about him’ they did nothing. The second time I went the security guard took my ID off my because apparently ‘it wasn’t me’ but it was. I asked them over 3 times, how do I get my ID back and the security guard ignored him, probably a nice place in the day time but not at night. Do not recommend at all

My mum and I visited Mangos this afternoon for a bit of lunch and cheeky cocktail after browsing the town- we were greeted by friendly staff and were able to sit where ever we fancied. It was clean and fancy! We ordered two mains both including two sides, each of which were only £10 and we'll worth their money!! And more! The food was piping hot, and delicious! And both very generous portions! Best salad dressing tasted! And the sweet potato fries are a must! My mum and I both went for a cocktail, I had the elderflower Collins and my mum had a strawberry daqaurri; they were both soooo lush! And at bargain price! Again very generous sized glasses- which is just what you want when you're fancying a cocktail! I would highly recommend this fancy and modern restuarant- the staff are friendly, the food is delicious and the cocktails are lush! Will definitely be returning!

Stopped here for lunch with the family. It was very quiet but it’s the end of season and this didn’t reflect on the food which was excellent. I went for the peri peri half chicken which was very tasty. Everyone else was happy with their food including the kids. Service was good and overall a good experience, so recommended.

Had some fab nights at mangos, good djs, great music, but i did spend 40 minutes waiting to be served the other day.

Fuimos a Falmouth para la semana de Falmouth y no esperábamos llegar a un lugar para comer. Era realmente tranquilo y bellamente amueblado con asientos cómodos. El batido fue increíble y fácil de beber en uno, donde lo bueno y la comida mejoró con cada mordisco ¡no cambia nada! ME ENCANTÓ !

We visit Falmouth every year when we come down to cornwall, we weren't sure if we could take our 2lurchers in, when we asked there was a lovely response by the staff and as long as the dogs didn't go on the carpeted areas.

Falmouth, seems to get better and better, the company was great, beautiful day and a few drinks were enjoyed. Ended up In Mangos, good choice of drinks, Great atmosphere and pleasant staff. While worth a visit...😁😁

What an embarresment for the chef! Raw fries, dry Tuna and old chicken wings. I don't understand that he or she has the courage to let the Nice waitress face customers with this bad quality food. Shame!

Came here with my wife and boys for lunch and drinks. After never being to Falmouth before I believe we stumbled upon a real gem of the town.

I suppose £10 for a burger and 2 sides should have hinted at the sort of quality I’d be getting. Low end food served by disinterested bar staff who seemed more interested in flirting with each other and watching the football. Fine if you are half cut and want a quick bite, otherwise avoid.

Well I never! However many shot choices. The staff haven’t got a clue what day of the week it is let alone what drinks I ordered... the food is worse than weatherspoons and palacio lounge and smells all a little bit funky... The music choices throughout the week are pretty good but the wait time on a drink is very long and unfair. Dirty dirty place and I don’t know if I’m jamming or in the middle of a fruit.

I brought my boyfriend here for breakfast for his birthday. The menu on the website looked great and the refurbishment looks really good too. On arrival we couldn't find the menu so asked the waitress for it. She replied with, 'we don't do breakfast', and didn't offer an apology. Why have a breakfast menu on your website if you don't actually do it?

Went to Falmouth for the day on 29/4/18 ,and after browsing in a few shops ,we decided it was time for a spot of lunch, but were undecided as to where to go , it was then that we found “Mangos”, we checked out the menu and decided that we would give it it a try , well we weren’t disappointed, I decided to have the chicken wings in a lemon and herb sauce , which tasted fantastic, my wife had the breaded buttermilk chicken breast , which she said was lovely .

I was here back in 2016 and it was...well okayish.

Mangos atmosphere is so soo good (especially downstairs) and even though the place was quite busy the service from staff was still top notch! Served multiple times at the bar by a guy with bleached hair who was very patient with me (even though I was unsure what to get) and he recommended some bangin' shots and fancy cocktails.

A great place for a night out, with a really good selection of drinks and music. I was served most of the time by a guy called Alex I think, and I’d always get my drinks pretty quickly.

One of my favourite places in Falmouth. Paid a visit with friends and what a great experience we had. Have used this bar many times for drinks later in the evening and have always found it a nightmare to get served despite the hard working bar staff,quite often it can be 3 deep at the bar all for the sake of management getting their act together and setting the right staffing levels,Consequently I know many locals who avoid Mangos after 11pm.

if youre going here after the pubs shut for a little later drinking , then be prepared to wait a long time to get served , never enough bar staff , and they obviously know what time they get busy , always have to fight your way to the bar , also drinks are expensive especially bottles , on the plus side , mmmm well they have music downstairs that generally caters for the older clientle

I spent my night in mango's for my birthday and the staff were so distusting, makes me want to never visit Cornwall again, so rude and sarcastic, if you ever think about going out Falmouth or even Cornwall, don't do it!!!

nice place at first glance went in ordered hot food and hot drinks waited 30 mins for drinks and over an hour for food only 6 people in our party. only seemed to be one member of staff working the bar and one member of staff in the kitchen. Lady behind bar very nice and apologetic for slow service felt like I wasted half a day waiting for food that wasn't that great either and weren't that busy either only a few other customers in the bar :(

Nice relaxed atmosphere and you couldn't ask for more helpful staff. Had a nice experience. But the food was far from what I expect at even this price.
