We visited the M Shed Cafe during our holiday in Bristol. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff, who led us to a table for two. We ordered good quality coffee, which was served quickly. We had a pleasant experience at this Cafe!

Great little cafe attached to the museum. There was outside seating available on the day we visited (early October) and lots happening outside. Great views of the boats along the quayside and right next to the replica of the sailing ship Matthew. Good coffee and cake to be had and saw some good looking plates of light bites. Reasonable prices considering the location, and fairly quick service Would visit again.

Lovely little cafe, clean, bright, nice view of the harbourside and the most delicious scone and mocha brownie. Excellent tea too (loose leaf mint, English breakfast). Can't fault it at all. Friendly service. We were admittedly the only people in there initially on a drizzly Thursday afternoon in early Feb! Really good loos, seemed pretty accessible generally. What's not to like?

I actually thought they had forgotten us. My bad. Very polite and friendly staff- but really it didn’t take a reasonable time for what I felt was required, as there were very few customers. Once it arrived though it was nice enough.

This visit was made during an organised group-tour of the M Shed museum; incorporating the ascent of a working dock-crane, and a trip around the main part of the Floating Harbour on the Pyronaut fire-float. The café was busy inside, but the large outdoor area was bathed in sunshine. It was pleasant to be able to sit in the breeze, and enjoy the warmth of the day, under the shelter of good-sized parasols. Orders had to be placed and paid-for at the servery, where an array of cakes, buns and sandwiches etc. were available to take with hot and cold drinks. Some plates could be cooked to order, so my Partner and I decided to share a cheese, ham and artichoke pizza. This was excellent: served warm, crispy, and dressed with fresh green herbs. It was one of the best pizzas we have had in any café, and it was really enjoyed. The service was prompt, but could have been a tad more helpful. We should have been advised to take napkins and cutlery with us, as we went to our outside seats. Our pizza, and our separately-ordered dining companions bacon rolls, were both brought to our table without either! We really didn’t understand why we were not advised; thus avoiding a return back inside to get what was standard items. We enjoyed a pot of tea which was strong (tick) made with good quality, and great tasting, fresh tealeaves. Each pot yielded just under three cups of excellent tea.

Spacious, quiet spot in the M Shed museum. No canned music - congratulations! Excellent coffee, tea and sweet treats: great walnut cake and scones with cream and jam. Friendly service.

A single bap with a fried egg inside £5.95 and my partners bap with a rasher of bacon £6.95, shocking mark up on a few pence worth of ingredients. Plenty of other options, won’t return. Service also terrible

Museum is great. Cafe is a nice spot for a drink, BUT have tried to get food here three times and been forced to abandon the plan due to poor / chaotic service. Last time I did manage to get food - it took 45 minutes to get one egg on toast and a glass of water - on a quiet mid week lunchtime. Shame it is so badly run.

Not worth a visit in my opinion. Don’t let it put you off going to the M Shed museum, as that is great, but definitely visit a different cafe as you’ll be waiting for ages for your bland food.

Food was very good, when it came. Lunch for 3 ordered and drinks. Great bean and mushroom soup, tasty sandwiches. Meal 1 arrived okay. Meal 2 arrived 15 minutes later, and drinks finally came. Meal 3 followed after another 15 minutes and dish was somebody else's ! Serving staff so disorganised and no apology from lady I complained to. Did get a flapjack as compensation. People on a few other tables walked out as they had waited too long.

We stopped in to the cafe while visiting the museum. We just got a couple of drinks, but I found the prices of the food a little high even for a museum cafe. There was quite a bit of trash on the tables and the floor. There were many families with small children in the cafe so that may explain the trash.

It's not as good as tjhe museum but it's OK for a snack. It can get very crowded and you may have to wait for a table. Prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I came here with friend before to see M-Shed museum. First of all, I realized that most of the tables were full of dirty dishes. We ordered a coffee, and wanted to have a piece of cake but I saw flies on it and rather decided not to have one (glass cover would solve this problem). Coffee took ages to make it. They had only us to serve. In the meantime of preparation our coffee, the staff were talking in Italian/Spanish language very loud, it was very inappropriate. Also one of the front staff was shouting on someone to the kitchen. I only give two stars for nice interior and average coffee. It is a shame because it would be very nice place to have a coffee/meal with a nice view.

Nice cafe, food seems local and wholesome but without being shouty about it. Staff seem slightly confused but maybe because I got the mid-week shift.

Unfortunatly the cafe does not live up to the rest of M Shed. Limited menu and too expensive if you have children to feed. Seating area was messy on my visit with many patrons just using the cafe as somewhere to sit rather than to eat.

Very poor value for money. Noisy space. Miniscule portion of chips for £3. Quite good selection of food - if you can afford it. Obviously aimed at 30-something executives and people on fat pensions who don't care about money

Came for a comedy night, wasn’t sure what to expect but really good set up, good lively pub downstairs serving all the classics and great pizzas and some great local beers (including Bristol Beer Factory Milk Stout which is excellent) plus packed out comedy gig upstairs, really nice crowd and top notch comedy. On weekday events they have pre event special of pizza plus a drink for £15 which is pretty good value. Only slight improvement would be putting a second server on bar upstairs before the gig started but queue went down pretty quickly.
