Lugana Italian Restaurant in Bromley

Visited Lugana this afternoon for my husband’s birthday lunch. I have mixed feelings about the experience. The food and service was fabulous, the majority of the staff were kind and attentive. However the head waiter let the team down he didn’t make us feel welcome throughout our time there. This was so disappointing as it was obvious that he was pleasant and smiling with all of the other parties in the restaurant. I hate to say it but we were the only group of ethnic minority so it was quite blatant and hard to ignore. However it was nice when the team brought my husband dessert with a candle and sung happy birthday🙂Not sure if we’ll visit again a warm welcome is essential in hospitality and everyone needs to feel accepted.

We have dined at Lugana many times and we keep going back. The staff are very polite and friendly. The manager Camillo , always makes sure he comes to talk to us. But more importantly, the food is superb at Lugana. I have tried various things on the menu and the food never disappoints! Also very good atmosphere.

Absolutely beautiful food. The steak is possibly the best steak I've ever had, it really is that nice. Good atmosphere and service. You can wait a little on a busy Saturday night but that takes away nothing from the enjoyment though in my opinion.

Brilliant food, service, staff! A real treat!

We have dined at Lugana’s on several occasions with friends and have always been very impressed with the standard of cuisine and service. We belong to a Gourmet Society; and when it came to our turn to recommend our favourite restaurant, we chose Lugana’s for a lunch with 20 members last March. The event was a huge success thanks to the professionalism and organisational skills of both Camillo and Arta, ably supported by their team. We selected from the party menu, but everyone chose their dishes in advance; and on the day the standard of cuisine and level of service were second to none. The meal was memorable and thoroughly enjoyed by all; and some of the group have even mentioned it recently, almost a year later. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. Best Sunday roast in Beckenham. We have been to most of the restaurants near by but nothing beats this. Friendly staff, quality food and decent portions.

Service was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, smiley staff. Cant praise them enough. Food was gorgeous. Large portions and extremely tasty. From walking in the door to leaving they made us feel special and they were really attentive but not overbearing. Atmosphere was lovely and upbeat too. Clearly everyone else was treated in such a lovely way.

Great food great selection of wines and friendly staff, we have been here many times and the consistency of the food is perfect , Alway a few specials to choose from . Need to book as alway busy

Good food sadly let down by very slow service by grumpy waiter which really ruined my experience.

First time coming here with my family, The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent despite them being extremely busy on Christmas eve. Everything came promptly and we were very well taken care of. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning very soon.

Table not ready sent to another after 30 mins no drinks or menus . Guests that arrived after us got their drinks . The staff didn’t seem to care . None of our family will ever waste our time with this restaurant again

Wr had a table booked for 6 people; specifically a round table. When we arrived the table was not ready and there was no urgency in getting the table ready for us. We were offered a drink at another table but that didn't come either. Other people ordered their drinks after us and they were bought before ours. It was clear that the restaurant had tried to get as many people booked as possible but did not have the staff to cater. Will definitely not be hoping back

We were the booking from hell! One unexpected person turned up. No problem the staff relaid the table. Then another party member was a no show. Again, no problem they relaid the table again. No-one seemed to be able to decide what they wanted for any of the three courses we had. We had a lovely corner alcove, perfect for a family lunch. The service was excellent; the food even better. Every element of the meal was delicious and authentic. Thanks so much to the staff and...sorry!

Very old fashioned menu. If you have allergies or happen to be vegetarian or vegan the choice is extremely limited. Despite being reassured when booking, as a vegan there tomato pasta… that’s about all! Great atmosphere but needs to move with the times!

Absolutely love this Italian. We have been a couple of times, on our own and with friends. The staff are always happy to accommodate and give off a really friendly vibe, much like a family. The food is top notch, I would highly recommend trying the mussels and lasagne. The wine is extremely good too. If you are in the area and want some Italian then this is the place for sure.

Have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions when the food has been really good. However, on this occasion had a mackerel starter bathed in oil and within three hours of leaving the restaurant was violently sick., pointing to something amiss with the starter

Okay, I love Italian food. I have been to many Italian restaurants and had my favorites that could not be beaten. Well, I am sorry to say this one took me by surprise and blew me away. The service, the atmosphere, and the quality of the food were the best I have ever had, I went there with my girlfriend and her son and partner. Every dish I had to taste was perfect, the Olives were stunning nd the cheesecake OMG was mind-blowing. We will be regulars for sure. See you soon guys

First time at this restaurant and wasn’t disappointed an old style Italian restaurant serving fresh well prepared food. Well balanced in terms of courses coming out, not rushed in anyway. Portion sizes were excellent and all 4 of us enjoyed our courses. A good selection of wines to suit ever taste and pocket. Would we go again definitely

Incredible food and incredible pleasant staff

Went for Sunday dinner, nice atmosphere and service was good. Had Minestrone soup for starters, it was very watery, maybe some small pasta to thicken it or a roll to accompany it, partner had prawns and salmon which he said was lovely. Roast dinner, beef was nice, didn't have much on my plate, but my partner had a couple of decent slices, both of our vegetables were undercooked and hard, the roast pototes resembled pototoe wedges, they were boiled and hard not roasted, so for us dinner was a disappointment. The place was packed and maybe, if it wasn't full to compasity, more time would of gone into cooking the food, However. Presentation was good, service and resonsbly priced. Would come again for Italian food.

The food was very tasty but I am left with a horrible feeling after the way we were treated. The manager was gushing over the regulars but we felt belittled, waiting ages for everything, even the bill which was very high for a modest meal. They charged for four coffees instead of two, gave a large wine without asking etc. The acoustics are terrible, granted it was busy. Sorry Lugana, won't be coming back to be fleeced and made to feel like a second class citizen. Apologies to very kind waitress, not your fault.

Fantastic food. The sauce with the filet of pork is particularly divine. I love a good cocktail and their Cosmopolitan didn’t disappoint. I fancied a margarita next, and although it’s not on the menu, the team were more than happy to try making one for me! I just wish we’d had more room to try a dessert too. Very attentive and friendly service. Will definitely be returning!

Sadly food was average. Only dish which was really nice-scallop starter, they where very tasty. Calamari bit chewy, chicken with mushrooms was ok, but again nothing to what I would come back, sea food risotto I do better at home, sea food pasta ok. Staff and service very nice, polite, efficient and friendly.

A phenomenal experience from start to finish. The atmosphere and staff are amazing, with even better food! Indulged in 3 courses, wine and cocktails; it was worth every penny and got a well deserved tip. The food is the most authentic me and my partner have had outside of Italy. The warm and inviting staff with great attitude made the evening perfect. I couldn't recommend this place more, and will definitely be coming back!

My first time here and it won’t be my last. Superb food, absolutely delicious I had lunch here with friends and had prosciutto e Melone to start, followed by porcini pollo. It was fresh, flavoursome and presented beautifully. Not to mention my main was piping hot, and generous portions. The desserts my friends had, banoffee pie and apple pie looked mouthwatering, but I was too full. Maybe next time. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant with white linen tablecloths and napkins. A touch of class. And reasonably priced too Thank you

We went there for dinner on Wednesday night. Absolutely lovely place, excellent service and delicious food!

3-course party menu £40 was superb. Not often an Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak is cooked perfectly but it was here and of excellent quality. Presentation and taste of starters excellent plus spoilt for choice for dessert. When asked if possible for béarnaise sauce they did it no quibbles. Great place and wish it was closer to where I lived!

Have been to this restaurant many times and every time the food and service are exemplary. The standard of each and every course, the friendliness and courtesy of staff, cleanliness, service and the general ambience are way beyond what one has come to expect nowadays. We went to this restaurant because we were craving for some Italian food. We end up all choosing the Carbonara and what a lush. I never ate a Carbonara that tasted so well. Recommended *****

Fantastic staff and food especially the prawns

When my dad had Dover sole the manager came to the table to remove the fish from the bone in front of us. I had fish ravioli with a tomato jus and the ladies both had seafood risotto , my phone's camera wouldn't do it justice. With a full bodied rioja and delish desserts to complement the atmosphere we had a beautiful family get together.

some of the rudest staff i’ve ever encountered apart from the two lovely ladies who served us occasionally. service slow, not sure if he was the manger or head of the servers but every time we spoke to him he was so rude and arrogant. food was good although bolognaise was very salty and not much flavours and they messed up orders a lot. don’t recommend go somewhere else for a good time.

Excellent service and very accomodating staff. The food is well presented and very tasty. The king scallop starter was subtly seasoned and the flesh cooked perfectly. The sauce on my chicken dish was divine but the mozzarella stuffing appeared to be missing; no matter as the sauce made up for it. It was a truly memorable experience.

A very tasty, good food. The waiters were warm and welcoming and always want to make you feel very good. I have no words to describe how I would feel in that restaurant. I mean spectacular. I will always choose this restaurant number 1 in my list.

Recommended score: 7.7/10 We celebrated my partner's birthday here last night, a table of 10. Overall it was a success; decent enough service on the whole, I can attest to pretty good calamari & very nice veal Milanese. I would recommend it, would be very happy to return.
