Lucky Beach in Brighton and Hove

The fries are soft and glutinous, and the green beans are really delicious😋 I totally love the green bean paste! ! The fried fish is also great, the shell is crispy and the fish is tender, it’s a great experience!

Very good fish and chips! I recommend the deep fried fish. Pleasant space. A little pricey - 20 pounds/person. I don't recommend lemonade, it's just water from rocks with lemon.

2 star review ⚠️ A 750ml Belu still water billed as miscellaneous drinks at £7.50 Which is extortionate! It's a £1.50 bottle of water to buy in. Always been happy to pay up to £5 when dining out. When having paid the bill and asking a young lady member of staff behind the bar politely, is the price correct for the water. She said "tap water is free" very sarcastically. Food we ordered was average. Although well known for there food as per waiters initial communication. Bacon came out like charcoal on the full English. With the sarcastic attitude/response from member of staff behind the bar ,it was a disappointing first experience from a local Brighton resident writing this review!

Food was average. Freezer style hash browns with a bit of parmeesan cheese on top… not inspiring for £5… extra mushroom another £4. Freezing cold crab meet alongside an eggs benedct 🤢. Coffee was good. Food took 45 mins post our order. Sitting outside in an area that had installed heaters, which would t be turned on… multiple people asked. Will not be going back, would not recommend.

This is Munjin Restaurant located on the beach. This place was featured on Kim Na-young's YouTube, and the fish and chips chicken burger is delicious! The staff are friendly too!

We attempted to have breakfast here this morning, we got our drinks, all of which were disappointing, cold coffee, bad tea and iced coffee that tasted like dish water. After waiting half an hour for breakfast we asked the staff how long it would be as we had to catch a train, we were told it’s on its way. 15 minutes later we asked again to be told they’ve just started cooking it with no apology for waiting time so we left with a refund. Awful service, awful drinks and no food.

Lovely breakfast and great coffee

It looked like a nice sunny spot so I ordered a coffee. 15 minutes later I gave up waiting. It wasn't even busy. I got much better service next door.

Local fish and Chips are crazy good! Didn’t expected that to be this good. It’s a nice weather out with this fish and ships together with a beer is made my day. Even green salad is good for side dish. Crabs cake are also good to try. If you are planing for a beach walk then this place should be in your list!👍😁

This is the best food on the seafront, a cut above. Fish tacos are an absolute must, but it’s all delicious, get a table if you can.

Staff friendly. Food average and expensive (£12 for 3 pancakes with Nutella). Took 35 minutes for some to arrive and it wasn’t that busy. Not ideal when you have 6 hungry kids…

Just had drinks great fun place in the sun

Lovely little cafe on the beach front, food was good but what stood out the most was the service. Our waitress was phenomenal, very friendly and attentive. Went above and beyond and was great with our dog! We’ll 100% be back :) Thank you, P.s we came 23rd Sept around 10am

Mehh, used to be one of the best burger bars in Brighton. Whilst the staff are very friendly and location is fab the prices have raised too high. Old vegan burger was great, now its a grilled mushroom in a bun which is laughable. Family said the meat burgers were good, one person said the batter on their fish and chips was unpleasant.

We recently visited Lucky Beach Café and had a fantastic experience! The moment you scan it, your table is automatically selected, and you can place your order without needing to flag down a server. It made the entire process super efficient and hassle-free, which was especially helpful when dining with a little one. Now, onto the food—we tried the Fish and Chips, Fish Tacos, and the Kids’ Burger with chips, and all three were absolutely delicious! The Fish and Chips were perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter that didn’t feel too heavy. The fish was fresh and flaky, and the chips were golden, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. If you’re visiting Lucky Beach Café, the Fish and Chips are definitely a must-try. The Fish Tacos were another highlight of the meal. The tacos were packed with flavor—juicy, fresh fish, vibrant salsa, and just the right amount of spice. It was a lighter option but still filling and satisfying. If you’re a fan of tacos, these are not to be missed! Our 3-year-old had the Kids’ Burger with chips, and it was the perfect size for him. The burger was juicy, and he loved the crispy chips that came with it. It’s always nice when a place puts thought into their kids’ menu, and Lucky Beach Café did just that. Overall, we were impressed with both the food and the service. The QR code system made everything run smoothly, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Double Cheeseburger................ lies... no its not. They state they add extra cheese so therefore its a 'double cheese' burger?? Not actually double burgers.

Had high expectations due to recommendations. Overall positive experience but a few issues. I got the chicken burger and everything was tasty except the chicken was over cooked and dry. The crab tostadas were light on the crab. And the plates and utensils were a bit worse for wear. Overall though, food was tasty, the location is great on the beach and the QR code ordering method is convenient

Good place for a drink and a snacks

Stopped in here to watch the sunset with a drink. The order machine didn't work, so I needed to go up & order. The staff were lovely enough, but l found the place expensive for what it is.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good at all. The burgers tasted like nothing and were quite greasy. The side salad was disgusting. The only good thing was the fries. The drinks were quite small. In terms of price, the store was totally overpriced in relation to the quality.

This was our go to place on our trip to Brighton. Great location, food and service, all overlooking the beach

Ok-ish food (tacos, tostadas, salad), bit soggy and tasteless. Portions are a bit small for the price. Of course the location contributed as well but overall not the best, definitely ate better. Staff was friendly but a bit slow. Outdoor seating was nice right by the beach :)

I was very disappointed when I opened the takeaway of Fish & Chips it cost £17.90 it’s very very big RIP off its children’s meal, I will never ever going to this place again and I will never suggest anyone to go to this place. Total gutted

Easily found on Brighton seafront just set back from the beach with plenty of outdoor seating. We were there for lunch and it was fairly quiet, service was very fast and the food was excellent quality especially the fish and chips which was crispy and fresh. We did think the menu was a little pricey for a cafe but also noticed other cafes nearby had raised their prices. I would recommend it for a couple or family group, but do expect restaurant prices.

We ordered a dish called economy fish and chips and it is real economy which means no fish but just graesy batter, last but not least the portion was ridiculous!!basically turist trap!!

Beautiful cafe on BRIGHTON beach. It has a terrace on the beach itself, all glazed to enjoy your coffee with an unmissable view of the sea. The girls who serve are super friendly. I went for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday in the middle of winter and I was still able to drink coffee while looking at the sea. The only negative point is that they did not have croissants. The rest 10 points!! They do not accept cash.

Food was over cooked, Order was wrong , Forgot my potato cake for both breakfasts, asked them waited ,an waited then asked again turned up just after, Service was slow ,food was average, Coffee was was bog standard, No one asked how are breakfast was!no one!£39 for that an the service was a disappointment.

Wow! What an absolutely top-notch cooked breakfast. Sausages and mushrooms were especially great! (It normally comes with eggs too, but I don't like them). The serving team were lovely and the view is awesome! Perfect way to start a long weekend 😁 Thanks all.

Just bad experience. Fish and chips are just not real fish and chips. Moreover we found a hair in our plate and the price was really expensive.

Came here 6th Aug day was wet and horrible found this place as passed it , went to the undercover bit alot of seats was wet so not much to sit at , food was OK nothing special bit pricey for what you got , service was OK, nice location on the beach

What a charming beach cafe!! Visited Brighton yesterday and enjoyed my lunch at Lucky Beach Cafe :). I didn’t get the hostesses name, but she made my experience here fantastic. It was super hot yesterday and I was wanting to sit at a shaded table on the patio. However, there were no spots available at the time. The hostess offered to put my name down for the next open spot and asked if I would like to sit on the shaded steps and have a cup of ice water in the meantime :). I waited for no more than 5 minutes and a table opened up! Thank you so SO much for your kindness!! Excellent service :). The food was solid as well— I got the fish and chips. Fish was battered and fresh. Watch out for some bones… fries were well seasoned and crispy :)!

Incredible breakfasts, went here twice during our 3 day stay. Recommend the pear granola, pancakes and breakfast tacos! Staff really attentive and helpful, wonderful views, great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Once upon a time this place was a Brighton burger competitor. Not anymore. My food was slap dash. Sloppy, overly greasy burger and some dry left out too long chips. This was lovingly served with an iced latte made with melted bottom of the ice bucket ice. All in all a sad little supper.

Food took almost an hour to arrive, and when it came it arrived cold, and the attendants totally confused delivering orders at the wrong tables without doing the proper confirmation process

Bacon roll abit meh, back bacon pretty basic for 7.90 and pink as me. Granola was the best thing going. Hash browns basically macains with cheese on.

We always come here for breakfast when we visit Brighton. It's great to have such good food overlooking the beach. Highly recommended.

Staff good, service was quite quick as it was busy. You can order with staff at podium or scan the qr code on the table. Loverly to be by the sea 🌊 we sat under the umbrellas, but you can sit looking out to sea on their veranda if you like the sun 🌞 beating down on you 😎

Lovely brunch here on a Sunday morning 😁. Service was very good and food was tasty!

Food was yummy and they accommodated some of my additional requests! Crab cake was yummy and so were the picked additions. Slightly on the more expensive side but a lovely treat to sit on the terrace. Downside were the smokers that congregate by the terrace, wasn’t always the most pleasant dining experience.

Rude waitress at the entry, never seen anything like this in UK. Fish and chips below average. Beautiful view from the terrace though. Respond for the owner. 1. I didnt cut anyone, just asked if I have to wait for table and stand right behind them. 2. I didn’t leave the queue! I was there, in my phone, checking the menu, and your waitress gave table to someone else without calling me and after being rude shouting that I have left instead of saying that she just didn’t notice me and apologising. Anyway, her attitude ruined my lunch and impression of Brighton. All the best.

We tried it today , normally we have breakfast at the Buccaneer next door. Have to say the poached eggs on toast were abysmal, no butter on toast, soggy hard egg with broken yoke .just tasteless .my partner's bacon roll was ok. Staff pleasant but the food was not good . Will go back to our normal venue next door .

Interesting no-contact way of ordering but table service was still somewhat available and the servers were very pleasant. The food was absolutely lovely though, my partner LOVED his fish and chips and my seafood tasted fresh and flavourful. Will absolutely return when I'm back at the beach. A must try!

Food is not bad apart from fried squid that are badly cooked and are not fresh at all, and the small portions for the price. We arrived and there were 3 waiters bending on the desk chatting between them and they didn't even notice I was there. The floor was full of fries, dirty tissues and many free dirty sticky chairs and tables whit plates and leftover food that seagulls were eating. I cleaned the sticky table with a tissue by myself and ordered some food online as this is their method, but you still pay SERVICE CHARGE and there is no service !! When the food arrived I had no setup at my table and I had to ask as the "waiter" didn't even notice....just write SELF SERVICE instead.

I was hoping for some excellent fish and chips, given we opted for the fresh caught fish at a price premium. The vinigar batter sounded like a great combination as well. Unfortunately the fish came out with soggy doughy couloured batter which really spoilt what seemed to be quite nice fresh fish inside. I couldn't taste any vinigar in the batter either. The chips were nice and crispy, and the highlight of what turned out to be a very disappointing feed of fish and chips.

Disappointing. For £17+ the portions were small and the fish was very average. I asked for waters for the table and the waitress only brought for half of us. Considering the general rating on Google I was unimpressed with this place. Won’t be coming back in a rush

Castellano fish is of the best quality and at a very reasonable price. Although its price is similar to others, it is truly worth paying a bit more for its excellent quality. I recommend it 100%!

Lucky Beach Cafe made my husband's birthday unforgettable! A blonde, blue-eyed staff member (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name) was incredibly nice and helped me surprise him with a cake. The atmosphere was warm, and the service was exceptional. We can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Great spot right on the beach at Hove. Almost all seating is al fresco, with a small amount inside. Great, friendly service. FOOD mostly focused on fish and chips, and fast food Drinks fairly priced

This lovely cafe made my solo day trip to Brighton a perfect one! Fish is well cooked and fresh, and the waitresses are kind enough to check in on me as I was alone ☺️ Highly recommended to anyone who’s traveling to Brighton!

I visited Lucky Beach Cafe solo when looking for somewhere for Lunch right by the Beach. It started off well enough, got a lovely table right by the beach with a good view and the waitress who spoke to me to begin with was bubbly and chatty I ordered via the QR code and this is where things mostly go downhill and never fully recover. Firstly the Coffee I ordered took 20 minutes to arrive, I know it was lunchtime thus busy but still, 20 minutes for a simple coffee? Something isn't right? It then took another 30 minutes for the food itself to arrive. So 20 minutes for the coffee, 30 for the food. 50 total. I ordered the Fish Bap, Chips and side of Mushy Peas Firstly the good of the food, Chip portion was generous and the fish itself was nice But now the bad, there was only a small amount of fish in said Bap. A Bap with Chips you're paying 14.95 for with that little Fish in it feels a bit of a rip off Then the Mushy Peas, Mushy they were not and they were totally inedible. After finishing the Bap and Chips I did constructively express my dissatisfaction, what was wrong and request for a partial refund. They agreed on my proposal of 25 percent to be refunded. But in hindsight I think asking for 40 percent for the long waits, inedible Mushy Peas and tiny amount of Fish plated up would still have been fair It's worth highlighting, no fault with any staff I spoke to and especially the lady who spoke to me to start with. But it's clear the organisation and systems in place plus the quality and portion size of food too need majorly looking at It's a shame as I wanted to end my trip to Brighton on a high, but alas, it was a low. Cannot recommend

We scouted this place out and it did NOT disappoint. The iced latte had chocolate milk with a double espresso and a hint of hazelnut - bloody delicious. Speaking of bloody, their (bloody) Mary was excellent, just the right balance of spicy, sweet and sour. Our breakfast dishes came out quickly and the full English was simply a delight and one of the best breakfast plates I’ve had in a while. I have to mention a part of the crab cake was undercooked, but the crab was fresh.

One of the restaurant on the beachfront with outside seating. The food looks visually great and have good seasoning but we found the fish and chips to be overly greasy and felt a bit sick afterwards.

Fresh crisp flavours with an amazing uninterrupted view across the beach to the sea. Lunch stop and we had the crab tostadas along with tandoori monkfish kebobs. Both excellent and we cannot believe this was our first visit. We will be back for sure. Service was friendly and the feedback appreciated in the kitchen. Thank you.

Went for the classic fish and chips dosh, which is my first fish and chips in the UK. The fish is very tasty, a bit puffy and unique. Amazing views, vibes and service. It was lovely weather as well.

Friendly smiles and a laid back atmosphere, it's such a gorgeous spot on the seafront. Don't miss the fish tacos, fish & chips, amazing coffee and the watermelon spritzers. Lovely food, and the staff were even nicer! Really friendly and professional, been back twice!

I had a good experience at Lucky Beach. The fish tacos were pretty good, and the iced latte was tasty. I was a bit disappointed that the paper menu did not align with the app to place the order, with many of the drinks not being available. The serve was also not the greatest, the waiters kept bringing food to our table that were not ours, which was just awkward. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.

Sat for 15 mins during which two waitresses chatted 10ft from me for a lot of that time. I eventually approached them and politely asked if I had to order inside, to be told you order using the QR code or approach us by the menu stand. I said I would go elsewhere to be told “well go elsewhere then”. Sad really, because it’s a lovely spot.

Great food and friendly service, our waitress Holly was particularly attentive and made the experience lovely regardless of how busy she was. Will definitely be revisiting and would recommend to friends.

Hideously expensive. Ordered and waited an hour, ended up getting a refund as food didn’t arrive. Didn’t look very nice anyway. Also ripped my coat on the sharp bolts on the benches. Never again.

Was served by the lovely Jess and Monika, they provided great service and were really kind. I ate a ceaser salad and had a side of chips - was probably the best ceaser salad i’ve ever had! Reasonable prices and will definitely come again.
