We came here to celebrate our son's birthday, but they did not sing us a song and ignored ours message. All food was delicious except the dishes with tomatoes.

Nice decor , friendly staff and the pizza was very tasty , only negative is the meagre amount of toppings , lots of rocket and onion covering what turned out to be a few small pieces of chicken and no identifiable bacon that I could see. Shame , because this is a nice restaurant, the ratio of toppings needs amending, as I have noticed this on previous visits. It's a bit mean on main ingredients for the price.

We went to celebrate my husbands 60th Birthday very disappointed 3 pizzas were burnt and 1 was not cooked enough. We have been there before which was good. I feel after our experience tonight I will not Be returning.

Pizza with goats cheese and caramelised onion was the reason why I visited this place, but the last few times it became smaller, with less cheese and more tomato 😔 I was dissatisfied. Service is random. One time it's perfect, another time you could wait for half an hour for someone to take your order. Once my friends were sitting there, I wanted to sit with them but the staff told me that they don't have chairs( where's lots of chairs were not occupied near other tables) Sits near the windows could've been nicer if they were transparent. But windows are painted so when you are sitting near you are having zero view.

Amazing visit to Lubans to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, great food, lovely atmosphere and such attentive staff, especially Tom, who thought of every detail to make us feel special and welcome! Thank you ❤️

Waited 1.5hrs for dough balls and a pizza! Only 6 tables being served!

We have always loved eating here - best Italian base pizzas in these parts for sure. However we visited recently (having been away for approx 18 months) and I was struck by how tired and grubby the restaurant was. We were first lunch visitors (arriving at 12) and the tables and chairs were covered in crumbs with food in the floor. Glasses were bloomed and cutlery sticky and marked. This place is so great but it needs a blooming good clean (possibly a coat of paint), new glasses and cutlery purchased.

Waited for almost an hour for food with no acknowledgment or apology. We shared a Ragu pizza which had so little Ragu on it was basically a cheese, tomato, jalapeño and onion pizza. Not great for £17 I get that it was a Sunday night but even so, the wait was painful. Also our 9 year old was very unimpressed with the size of the kids pizza. Would’ve felt better if we’d got just one apology but there was nothing. Might be fine during the week but we certainly won’t be going back.

Stopped by again with friends and once again had a great experience. I forgot to take some more photos to share because I was with friends. Great place to grab a nice Pizza. And the Lunch menu offer is great.

The food was excellent but the atmosphere was the most compelling, purely created by every single member of staff we had any interaction with. From the moment we booked a table to leaving, every staff member was pleasant, positive, full of character and professional. It absolutely made it.

Visited for lunch with friends. The staff were very friendly & efficient.The pizzas were very good & the Mac n Cheese was delicious. I tried the vegan chocolate tart and was very suprised & happy with how scrummy it was. Good value & good service. 👍

Nice and cozy place. Unfortunately the price is not justified for the food. The pizza had a lot of sauce, and the beef pasta had virtually no beef...disappointing. The staff is polite and fast service. I wouldn't recommend this place

Me and my friend had a lovely meal and experience at lubens last night, we were served by Amy and a brunette girl who both were so friendly, bubbly and genuinely lovely, makes such a difference to the overall experience when staff have smiles and show their personality! Thank you to both of the girls, would defo go back.

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in fab surroundings we will be back ! Dough balls to start were great too and service perfect .

Nice atmosphere and a real pizza oven! Four of us had the Number 11 pizza and we all agreed that it was one of the nicest pizza we'd had. They didn't have the lemoncello we ordered as an after evening drink, but they gave us a Baileys and brandy as a comp. Very cool.

Popped in to grab some lunch as it wasn't too busy. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door by Jack who was an extremely polite and well mannered staff member. He showed us to our table 1with menus and a bottle of water and asked how our day was. He took our drink order and they arrived within minutes. The food didn't take too long either and it was cooked to perfection, very well presented and Jack kept checking in to make sure everything was okay and it was amazing 100% would recommend this place

The people and the food is amazing

Pizza dough not cooked in middle. Pasta dishes tasteless. Nobody enjoyed their meal. Only good thing was the great service by Kai who I would give 5 stars.

The menu was quite simple and very good. We were both a little disappointed in the pudding but we took that in our stride and will go back.

Lovely local pizza pasta restaurant. Very tasty food with top notch ingredients used in all. Highly recommend the mac and cheese if you feeling like a hearty meal. The pizza are pretty good too.

Previously had brilliant range of really tasty vegan options. Sad to see that they have been cut and the couple they do have aren't as good. We've visited here lots for this reason but probably wouldn't again now. Friendly staff and good location though.

Tasty pizza but very mean with the toppings, about 4 pieces of chicken and barely any bacon on it. Have been here before and enjoy the decor and service but they seem to be making cutbacks with the ingredients.

I had a lovely pizza and my wife had a pasta dish she was happy with. Because I was a bit hungry (more like being greedy)I ordered potatoes, but this was a new dish that they only started doing and wasn't on the menu, cannot remember the name of it, they were ok, not what I call garlicky as described , but I am sure they will have perfected in time. But overall I would go back to eat there again.

Lovely waitress, cool and cosy interior but the food, 2 plates of pasta and a pizza, took ages to arrive despite the restaurant being almost empty. The pasta portions were quite small and I was baffled by the 4 random pieces of chicken in the carbonara. I'd probably go there again but not in a hurry.

Definitely one of the worst pizza I ever had in my life,and honestly as a professional Pizza Chef I can't really say anything positive about it. I left 3/4 of the pizza in the plate,the Waitress very kind and polite but didn't ask anything about the leftover pizza,just after pay the bill she asked how was the experience. Anyway pizza was undercooked,raw,Cooked on pizza tray(the Menù also says lots of bullsh*t about how do they cook, Neapolitan style on the hottest part of the oven,and The Roman style in another different way,with 2£ charges if you want the thin pizza with basically the same Dough, absolutely ridiculous)the bottom didn't even touch the stone,the spinach horrible from freezer straight to the pizza,black pepper and chopped parsley on, ricotta cheese no comment,Mozzarella wasn't real Fior di Latte. If you want a good pizza,well just get a frozen one it'll be definitely 100% better.

Booked a table for mother's day for my partner and two kids and from the moment we walked in felt welcome and relaxed due to the tall guy with a beard (Tom). The timings between starters and mains was perfect and food was cooked and presented beautifully. Also Tom got a extra thumbs up from my daughter who cheekily asked for ham with her mack and cheese after getting it. Tom kindly brought her some which she loved. Will definitely be returning.

Amazing quality, the food was amazing, friendly staff, it only took 7 minutes for 2 pizzas and it was peaceful. Totally recommend.

Always stop at Luben’s if visiting Folkestone. With great pizza, you can’t go wrong; even more so as they offer gluten free bases which taste just as delicious. The atmosphere is lovely too; on each occasion we’ve been, we were able to choose our table. Whether at the window or in amongst the decor, it’s a cosy and private space. Would definitely recommend!

Love Lubens. Amazing pizza as always! The mozzarella in the caprese salad wasn't great, hard and too cold, a shame as the rest of the salad was delicious.

They seat you way to close together it’s uncomfortable, gave me a calzone with chicken when I’m vegetarian. Staff were nice and trying their best but doesn’t seem to be enough of them when it’s busy, very rushed off their feet

I’ve been here many times and the food is always delicious. During our most recent visit we were served by a man (I didn’t catch his name, tall and brunette) who was extremely warm , friendly and helpful. He made my partner and I feel really welcomed and well looked after

So short of staff. Meat & cheese platter starter was good, main pasta meals barely warm. Drinks took ages to come to the table we had to remind the waitress. Not great!

It was a busy Saturday evening and the service was terrible. We had 2 courses and were there for 2 1/2hrs. We even had to chase to pay the bill. Two of the meals were luke warm, my calzone looked like a sausage roll and was dripping in oil as was the salad. No one checked in with us once we'd been served. I've really enjoyed eating there in the past so was really disappointed. A discount was applied to the bill in recognition of our complaint.

Every time I either visit or order from Luben's I swear it'll be the last time. Unfortunately it's the only pizza my child will eat, and so here I am again. For whatever reason, the management of this restaurant have decided that staffing it entirely with teenagers is the route to success. Suffice to say it isn't. The pizza was stodgy and unrefined, the pasta dishes decent enough, and the value for money pretty good if you're feeding a family. That's where the positives ended. The staff are clearly not experienced enough to juggle an even moderately busy restaurant and as a result, once the initial order was taken and pizzas delivered, you're left to your own devices. It took three attempts to get the drinks order at the table correctly and each drink was dumped at the end of the table of 10 to be distributed by the customer. The main arrived fairly swiftly. An hour, empty plates left piled high, and three requests for our children's ice cream, were not sign enough to the staff that we were ready to perhaps move on. Eventually, and some what grudgingly, we got a single ice cream. A further two requests got the bill which included a dessert that never made it to the table and by this time, nearly two hours in, the person who had asked for it had given up and left. The request to remove it was met with reluctance. Luben's could be great. They are very tolerant of families and the young staff are trying, but dear me does it need some proper management.

Faultless! Service was friendly and efficient, good quality food with lots of vegan options , pizzas are large and good value. Would strongly recommend.

The pizza is good, but personally prefer more chewy version. Pasta is a bit tomato-y for my taste. Both are huge portions. Deco is nice.

Underwhelming food and slow service.

Excellent pizza & various other things cooked in the oven (bread for salads etc). I believe they even cook some of the desert dishes in there also. Laid back atmosphere with a range of semi upbeat music. Friendly staff and happy for all the family, even if your kid is surfing the tables. Not formal at all, a touch trendy.

It is the most expensive bruscheta I've ever got in my life. Don't think I'll ever get back there. Just as well as have stopped at the starter otherwise probably I would of have to get a bank loan to pay the bill.

Best pizza I’ve ever had in the UK.

So first time going here with my girlfriend and 4 friends. We got there and had table booked but only enough space for 5 so had to move chair from another table. Ordered drinks and food. The waitress wrote the order down. A hour later no food. There was only around 25 people in restaurant. Ask why food was so long. Said it hadn't gone into the system. So be another 20 minutes. Thought they might of guess we been sitting there that long they would of told us. Food came and my girlfriend ask for pepper bought it over to find it was empty. Had coffees and where really cold. Wouldn't even dissolve a sugar cube. Ask to pay the bill and I mean the waitress was fast than the flash. In get card machine. Said about the service at the start really didn't care. The bill was £170. The food was good but the service well that's needs a lot of looking into. Plus the waitress skirt was like a belt around her and hair very long and not tied back. For a restaurant to only have 25 people in God knows how they get on if full up

Very odd, I called at around 9.15pm, just eat didn't allow my order, the guy on the phone says try again, I tried again and then tried on thier website, both said they're closed, no answer on the phone since, very bizarre.

My Daughter and myself am visited Lubens on 07- 10- 2033 It was our second visit and just as good as the first.We shared 3 dishes which was more than enough .Beef meatball pizza,mixed olives and a Mac and cheese side. The pizza was fantastic !!! We were early diners so it was pretty quiet but lots of room if it was busy.Great service Thank you 😊

We've been here countless times over the past 2 years and the experience was never ever short of perfect for us. We have dealt with so many different staff, and tried probably everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. This is really one of our happy places as a family. A huge thank you to everyone who helps delivering this experience to us, you are all great!

Been here loads of times, decent food but think the restaurant needs a deep clean. There were fruit flies everywhere, constantly on our table, on our plates and drinks glasses. I couldn't take my leftovers home because they had been covered in flies, so half the food was wasted. Extremely off-putting and we won't be back

We have ordered pizzas, both were really cold, dry and burned. Chicken strips and onion rings were so oily and really salty. Shame that we can’t attached photos. Very disappointing experience.

We had a great family dinner here after a long day travelling. Staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Children's menu for the young ones (perfect for our 3 and 5 year olds. Food was delish and menu offers gluten free pizza and vegan cheese for those that need it.

Sort of went in by chance, little did we know we were about to have some of the best pizza we’d had in a veeeeery long time. Coffee was great too, and they kept playing super nice songs at a nice volume. Highly recommend. 🍕🍕🍕

Popped in for a spur of the moment night out with Steph. Greeted by friendly staff and seated right away. The pizza was lovely. Proper traditional Italian style. Steph opted for the Nduja Mac n cheese. Loved it! Ended up to taking some home as the portion was huge! A lovely evening! Cheers x

Slight whinge, no blue cheese pizza on menu. However, chef made a delicious blue cheese calzone. All the family enjoyed their dinner. Brilliant 👏

Went on 30th July 2023. Restaurant is well presented and food was very good. Had dough balls for starter and pizza for main. Took 50mins for starter to arrive. Pizza arrived 1h40 after initial arrival. Party of 6 arrived as we finished our starter yet they received their mains a good 20mins before we did. Clearly a mistake was made but no acknowledgement or accountability from serving staff who although friendly need better training. Subsequently mentioned visit to a friend who without prompting or mentioning our experience stated good food but bad service. Pretty much sums it up and appears the norm.

Great atmosphere, buzzy, cool decor. Pizza excellent and generous (had the number 11). For my personal taste I would have liked to see more spicy options and a tiramasu on the menu, however deserts we saw looked great but couldn't fit one in. Side salad felt a bit small for the money. Overall a really good experience and will definitely return to sample more of the menu.

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. Arrived for an 1st anniversary meal with my girlfriend and it took half an hour to get our drinks, the starter arrived 5 minutes before our drinks did and the drinks only turned up because I complained. My arancini starter came out and they missed the tomato sauce, then they bought our pizzas out and they were incorrect. They gave a pepperoni and chicken pizza to my girlfriend who’s a vegetarian. The restaurant was half empty and there was plenty of waiting staff so was not too busy for a front of house team to handle. Shocking, honestly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had, and the manager just shrugged his shoulders and gave a half hearted apology. Will not be returning and urge others to give it a miss too

Some of the best Pizza I have ever tasted and a real authentic Italian feel to the other dishes: the carbonara and vegetable Lasagne were stunning. After the food I had an almost perfect Espresso Martini and we enjoyed some delicious coffees. Unfortunately the service is questionable; the staff are very pleasant and helpful, asking us how we are and checking on us just the right amount….. but poor systems meant a mistake in our order and clearly from the tables around us we weren’t alone. I can’t fault the staff this was solely a problem with whatever system their management have decided to use for taking and delivering orders which clearly causing confusion for everybody! The fire alarm going off for a good 5 minutes didn’t help. If you can deal with the sketchy service the food is so good it’s worth it!

Very delicious food. They have plenty of vegan options. The price is a bit high, but I did not leave hungry after a starter and a main dish. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. It looks like a high-end restaurant, but it's not. I will definitely go again.

Garlic bread that came with the lasagne was cold in the middle .. asked for the bread to be re heated. Server took both away ..returned with a re heated lasagne ! Explained that it was the bread that was cold in the middle. Server returned with another bread ..which was again hot on the ourside cold in the middle. Gave up ..paid for meal ..wont return ...not happy..
