Love walk cafe in Southwark

Cappuccino with no foam. Cheese and ham panini with one slice of ham and traces of melted cheese on a baguette that was not baked, basically £10.50 for a piece of raw bread.

It was really dirty, avocado totally unseasoned on bread and with quite the staff members we were asked to order at the bar even tho there waere like 5-7 seated tables. Everything was dirty including the dishes, seats, table.

They are abit funny, if you are black i would not recommend it for you.

Me and my partner used to come here most weekends in lockdown to get a takeaway coffee and cannelloni, which and came for brunch for a while when things opened up afterwards every few weeks or so. Could not recommend their sweetcorn fritters and coffee and smoothies enough. We moved away a few years ago, but recently my partner has had a series of hospital appointments which has meant we’ve been back a lot, and I go back to love cafe to wait for him. I’m still greeted by the same lovely staff and feel very comforted sat with my lunch. Could not recommend the sweetcorn fritters enough!

Really nice baguette and vanilla latte to start the day. Should have taken some pics, but forgot to do so. Will definitely be back. 👏

My food tasted like bitterness and hate, I could feel the owners vitriol bubbling over in my coffee… not so much a frothy head as a heap of hate. Angst, anger, an impending sense of dread. So much agony lingering in the air. I had scrambled eggs, I left with a scrambled sense of self. My stomach was sedated but I could not escape the atmosphere of leering disdain from the owner. Service was good though. Well done team.

We had the Full English and Veggie Works breakfasts with fresh ginger, carrot, and apple juice—everything was delicious! The Full English was hearty with perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, and flavorful sausage, while the Veggie Works was a great vegetarian option with crispy hash browns, grilled halloumi, and fresh greens. The juice was refreshing with a nice ginger kick. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommended!

Honestly, I can't believe it's gotten to this. Lived in Camberwell my whole life and I go to lovewalk cafe once in a while. Haven't been for a few years, and I'm fairly peeved as I've just spent £13 on an eggs benedict that came with a single slice and two overcooked eggs. Came with pureed avocado that was over salted too. Flat white was alright and the staff seem lovely, but it's clear that newer Camberwell residents will lap up anything. Much better ventures can be found following along coldharbour lane.

Unfortunately, throughout my meal a male staff member was shouting at his younger female colleague for at least 5 minutes over what sounded like a very minor mistake. Despite this, she was excellent and very attentive. It was upsetting to see that colleagues are not treated with respect at Love Walk.

Called in here a couple of times whilst visiting a relative at King's College hospital. Really enjoyed my first meal - a salad, but the second time I went it was cold outside and I decided to go for the burger. Very disappointed and the chips weren't great either. Really nice atmosphere in here. Worth a visit.

Lovely food. We had a great time. Our only complaint is that English breakfast is always a bit cold. Bacon is quite salty.

It’s a great place for a bite and a nice coffee. There’s a variety of options to choose from and the service is very good with a very efficient and friendly staff. Located just outside Kings College hospital in Denmark hill road offers a nice a good place to stop and have a bite and a beverage of your choice. Will definitely come back!

Really nice people here and a great bacon sandwich too. Service is friendly, fast and professional, love it! This dog once got up and stole the leftovers off the table, he was full of regret afterwards and was forgiven by the staff and other patrons.

Always the place for a juice coffee brekkie

I felt it was expensive. An average veggie panini & cup of chai was £14, considering I can buy a veggie roast in the area between £13-£17. Service was quick though a bit of confusion around the till on who was waiting that a customer sorted out. I previously have eaten in here over the years & it seems a bit hit & miss, perhaps they have had a few changes in the kitchen.

Great location and staff, but I'm never a fan of the table hoarders with laptops that buy one drink and stay forever.

My breakfast was amazing was so hungry and it it the spot and coffee was fresh and orange juice was freshly squeezed can't complain

Your prices are to high for what you actually get, and your staff are always chatting to each other around that till. Maybe it's because I always get takeaway, but I consistently have to wait long periods even for a simple coffee

I used to go to this coffee shop almost every day in 2011-2012. I remember the staff were super nice. We have spent over an hour to get there today to be told they were closing, it was around 3-45 pm. Here it says they close at 5 pm. The (unfriendly) waiter said yes we close before 5 pm, it is before 5 pm. LOL. What a lovely customer service.

Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on sourdough - a huge plate! and a huge pot of tea, sat outside in the winter sun watching the world go by. Warm welcome and really good quality food. Thank you, a much needed change from hospital offerings on a clinic day!

Me and my wife have been today Love Walk cafe. Atmosphere is really cozy and friendly. I ordered sweetcorn fritters and my wife ordered vegetarian breakfast, it was super quick and plenty of sauce option. Last touch for coffee, i ordered flat white and my wife had latte (they have lots of milk option ( oat, almond etc.). Both of them were perfect. Bill of two breakfast and two coffee’s were reasonable if i compare with other cafe’s around. Thanks for all Love Walk cafe team to make our Sunday’s perfect.

Otantic place, delicious food and nice staffs

Simple but good food, with more space inside than you might expect, so usually possible to get a table even at busy times.

We loved english breakfast and avocado toast. Also the place is so cute and cozy. Everything is perfect. I recommend smoothie :)

Pedimos las tortitas con tocino y huevos revueltos. Las tortitas apenas se cocinaban por dentro y el tocino había visto días mejores y parecía que se había recalentado. Huevos revueltos parecían bien pero insípidos. Pedí el panini italiano y era tan plano como una tortita! Si pusieran 2 rodajas de salami allí me sorprendería. La inclusión de la pimienta también era extraña y no tenía lugar allí, es acuosa y tan caliente como el sol cuando la muerdes. El acompañamiento de la ensalada también era ligeramente marrón en los bordes y fuera de poner. No lo toqué. Dejamos la mayor parte de la comida molesto por haber pagado £ 33 por el disgusto! Cuando miré a mi alrededor, es solo que la gente bebiendo bebidas lentamente, en computadoras portátiles, claramente saben algo que yo no sabía. El servicio era un poco destacado también, una sonrisa no vendría mal. Evita como la plaga.

I had breakfast here twice and I loved it. The granola is super healthy but tasty, with fresh fruit and a lovely compote. Nice avocado toast too, the egg is fluffy enough. The tea is good quality. The place is cozy, especially the graffitoed alley. London prices.

Looks like Love Walk Cafe needs more love to its meals ! I ordered an American breakfast, it looked really pretty but tasted like nothing. Eggs and pancakes were tasteless and the pancakes were burnt under. Looked like low quality ingredients, or maybe it needs a change of recipe. But a bit too pricey for what it was. The atmosphere and decoration is nice though.

I got a corn fritters portion, which came quite small for the price, also the smashed avocado was barely any on it. Also 7 pound for a fruity juice is a bit much. I hope the staff is being appropriately paid considering the price of the lunch. Very relaxed welcoming cafe, they use bon soy milk which is not the cheap stuff as used in almost all the other cafes in the area, food was perfectly cooked 😋 and served in reasonable time.

Decided to have brunch while in the area for work. I had eggs benedict, my go-to brunch, and it was delicious. Friendly staff and great service. Will return when I'm back in the area.

Great service, great food, great drinks! I’ve been here a couple of times before and always had a nice experience. I came for brunch with my Nan and friend and we all enjoyed everything. My Tuna steak salad was so good and I really appreciate how easy the staff made it when I wanted to replace an item from my dish. The team were all so lovely, over all a great way to start my day thank you and see you again :)

Great place to have breakfast or lunch

Decided to take my friend for a belated birthday breakfast after going past it regularly. Apart from the good vibe and good service from the ladies, that is all i can say about the place. The guy behind the til seemed a bit tense and lack of friendliness. I ordered this special name toasted sandwich with salad. The salad itself is very uninspiring(just a few mixed salad with sweet corn, i called it lazy salad from a well established place). The toasted sandwich is dry and lack of flavour. The menu is prettt pricy, so i do hope the staff are being paid handsomely for their good service.

Have to say I never leave a bad review, but on this occasion. Am voicing my experience as a black woman, the atmosphere and greeting's was far from welcoming. I sensed tension and feelings of not being welcomed. As someone who traveled from villeges, to countrysides in the UK this was certainly a first. The rush to get my order and leave as quick as possible was clear and admit and a little passive aggressive. Such a shame to be fare to have experienced an unwelcome greating. And no goodbye. (The goodbye doesn't bother me, but everything else was just shameful from the man at the front making coffee, to the young waitress at the till) My final word Judgement and discrimination can be felt. So I choose to not act, in what I experienced today.🙏🏿 Judgement and discrimination hurts, regardless of what happend to you! It wasn't right.

went in today with friends looked really cute on outside. Service was good apart from the food. Ordered an Italian Job panini which was meant to have rocket but only had one leaf. My friend also ordered a Veggie delight but was not very delighted to find only one olive in her panini. Payed a fair £9.70 for something my 5 year old could put together.

Nice, wooden interior cafe. They let me have breakfast before opening time! That's a big plus! Fluffy pancakes, coffee strong and earthy.

Very tasty toasted baguette and tea to take away. Not that many options in sandwich, baguette, panini terms, but the one I had was tasty. Little pricey. But would return. Staff friendly and helpful.

We got the American Breakfast and the Eggs Benedict with Ham and a side of hash browns. The sausage tasted weird and had a weird texture. The pancakes tasted like they were heated up from a frozen pack. The scrambled eggs were pretty okay. The Eggs Benedict was pretty good though. We had different opinions on the hash browns. With the eggs benedict they were good but on their own, eh. Service was super slow too.

This is the third time I am here and it is now clear that i won't ever come back. Sausage is burnt, sourdough toast is only toasted one side and burnt too. Paid 14.50 for this poor quality food, and coffee is also expensive here compare to what they offer. Black Americano is 3.70

We went here for a Sunday brunch, and it was a lovely surprise. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, and the laid-back atmosphere, with the windows folded open, just added to the sunny atmosphere. I went for full English, while my wife went for the North American. Youngest got eggs benedict and daughter a roll. All were declared delicious, and the smoothies were also very well done. The only fault is the cup of tea is the usual meh, but that's London water for you and beyond anyone's control unless you buy bottled water to make tea. I'd not hesitate to recommend this place. It's a little gem.

This is our favourite local cafe. Staff and service are always 10/10. Coffee is delicious. But in the last few weeks sadly the standard of the sausage sandwiches has gone down hill…they were the BEST sausage sandwiches. The bread is now a bit flaky and dry - used to be perfectly toasted and buttered. Please bring the old ones back 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’ve ordered a Bacon and egg baguette from this place on Deliveroo. When I received my order it was a very laughable sausage and egg baguette (PLEASE LOOK AT THE PIC😭😭😂😂) There is barely 1 egg in here. Like I get it was 7:30 in the morning but damn giving me an old dehydrated egg is just mean. I did call assuming they gave me the wrong order. He was so rude and dismissive not even an apology h told me “don’t order from here of you don’t like it” Which I respect but the reason I don’t like it is their fault. If they made it correctly like the photos and with maybe an ounce of love it could have been amazing. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Edit: Your reply back to me was absolutely unprofessional,unnecessary and quite rude. Literally just validating everything I said before, the staff here are extremely rude and I wouldn’t want their bad energy touching my food at all. And let me help you. It’s Nails* and Disgusting*

Really lovely cafe in Camberwell. A welcoming service and staff are super friendly as well as attentive! We visited for breakfast on a Sunday and the cafe was busy with food waiting time up to 40 mins. We had to change our order as we were quite in a rush but the food was good and the smoothies were delicious ! Defo a visit if you’re local and hungry.

LW Cafe is sadly a consistent rip off. The breakfasts are substandard and the same price as proper quality brunch places elsewhere in London. Not only is this BY FAR the most expensive coffee and breakfast in Camberwell (around £5 for a coffee with oat milk), but they will try charge you extra at any opportunity. I asked for a drop of extra oat milk in my tea as they didn’t bring me enough, and they added £2 to my already inflated bill. The main staff / owners have been unfriendly and unhelpful every time I’ve gone in. My friend worked there as a waiter for a while and got paid well under London living wage (£9 per hour… crazy low for somewhere that charges so much). Other hospitality places nearby pay a reasonable wage and charge less. I recommend to go support nicer businesses nearby like Irene’s (£5 for coffee AND delicious fresh pastry), Cafe Mona, Lumberjack, Sugarpot (great breakfast food), or Rock Steady Eddie’s (if you want cheap, old fashioned greasy spoon).

Good heathly food selection and decent coffee. Table service also provided. Short distance from King's Hospital so a good heathly option between appointments. As per standard these days not cheap but happily, worth it

I turned up just as the doors were opening at 7am. Very friendly spot, clearly at the heart of that community.

I had lunch here outside before visiting my mum in hospital. The service was amazing - super friendly. I had sweetcorn fritters with avocado, tomato chutney, halloumi etc. it was delicious. Also had an orange, carrot and ginger juice - also delicious. Sat outside. You order at bar and pay which is good if you need a speedy bite to eat. Went in to order a coffee to go and it was on the house! It was such a nice gesture and really brightened my day. Thank you.

Got seated straight away and then once we'd ordered both our coffee and food came within 5-10 minutes . All cooked well and very tasty , as a vegetarian I like my food seasoned well and it was . Great atmosphere,warm welcome and will definitely be returning !! 😊
