Mia on the back bar is amazing! She is so good we all love her!!

Had a mishap with our shot flavours and after thinking it had been left as it was, the bartender brought over a new row without us asking. The perfect way to handle the situation and more than we could have asked for. Really happy that they’ve provided great service on this occasion as it is what i’m used to after spending years coming here and always enjoying my time, making sure to bring my family and friends everytime they visit cheltenham. Definitely a staple in Chelt. Thank you Bar staff 🩷

the bartender jacob is always super friendly, funny and as well as that is also able to deal with serious situations in a professional manner. all around i’m impressed with the service i recieved!

Disappointed! Their coke syrup was out from the dispenser. I pointed it out to the staff that come taste like water but their refused to change my drink and made me pay over £30 for a round of drinks what tasted like water... The lady wasn't very friendly and it's didn't helped the situation... I want my refund!!!!!

Had a great few hours here celebrating nephews birthday. Great ambience, Alex is a fantastic cocktail maker and such a friendly guy despite being constantly busy! Music great too! Really enjoyed our night

We had a bartender named Jacob, absolute sweetheart and really quick service all night, was really friendly even when super busy! will definitely come again!!!

The beat the bar man experience is great, how ever I think the place needs to do more. Eg when you walk upstairs most busy nights, the stench that welcomes you isn't pleasant, and the floors most times are sticky. They have a great array of pool tables, which is good for large group bonding.

It's OK but no chance of a pool table 😕

Ordered drinks and was forced into beat the barman. Wasn't given a choice and then charged for it. Staff member admitted to this when asked and said he does it to everyone. Had a pint of draft beer and the lines hadn't been flushed properly, so the beer tasted incredibly chemically. 0/10 would not recommend. Also the clientele were as rough as they come.

Came here twice, drank way too much both times... the shots are delicious although far more alcoholic than I was expecting -- can't fault the venue for my own mistakes though! The pool tables are extremely expensive (£2.80 per game) albeit well maintained.

Great place to unwind or socialise with friends. Great vibes + music, decent drinks and cocktail selection. Bartenders and Staff welcoming, polite and professional. Open very late. Will visit again when next in town. A++

Kids bar, even 19yr kids looked old in here, bottled water sales were on the high in here!

I was waiting at the bottom bar for about 15 min on a Monday night and there was no one manning the bar. The door staff were 2aiting for someone to appear to serve them. If you're going to close the bottom bar on a bank Holiday Monday the close it. Don't have the pumps lit up and the measures deployed on mats on the back bar.

Beating the barman is always a nice surprise

Re-visited after years of not frequenting. Decents pints. Great pool tables. Offers on shots got bit expensive, considering there is hardly any alcohol in them.

Completely lied at the game “beat the bar man” called heads landed on heads the staff member who weir said his name was “jack” completely lied and said that I didn’t want to win it, manager and staff completely were on his side unable to even hear my point of view disgusting bar do not go there they will lie and defend one another regardless of the truth or who ever is actually in the right as they only care about their team and not the customers

We visit Lounge tonight and a random stranger start playing pool at our table. I asked him nicely to leave but he said he knows one of the bosses and he's gonna bring it to us. Even though I paid woth own bank card for that pool table. We have been intimidated with bouncers and all that and just had to leave because I was overwhelm by the pressure of their staff on me. I wasn't there to look for arguments, just to have a good time with my friends wihich a completely waste of time and money. Many thanks for nothing, Mihai

Our night has been utterly ruined after what had been a lovely evening. In the later hours of the evening, we were forcibly removed from the premises by a security guard named "O Cooper" (he refused to tell us his first name so we had to look at his official ID) for no reason at all. We still had full drinks, and we're accused of taking them outside, despite being inside throughout this entire incident. It's a shame that Lounge 72 allows this kind of treatment from a security force that is clearly a separate company. Perhaps they should consider a new security force?

Classic lounge. Hasn't changed much. Busy on weekends after 9pm but still a good place if you can get 1 of 7 pool tables.

Nice place. Got 6 pool tables and a great bar/club vibes. Only downside is the drinks are so expensive and they play a beat the barman game before 11pm. So heads or tales, if you win you can double your drinks for a pound. But it's essentially daylight robbery if you lose 😂

Go there to play pool. Good drinks selection. One drawback is that they don't accept American Express.

Lounge 72 was, up until recently, the only place to play American pool in Cheltenham. It was never perfect, the tables aren't full size and the drinks are outrageous, but if you went before 8pm it was normally fairly chilled out and the pool tables were reasonable so I could play with friends or go and practice for a few hours. Now post lockdown they have shamefully redesigned all of the tables into pay per play. £2 a game would be expensive in a pub, but in a venue whose only redeeming feature is the pool hall, this is truly absurd. Lounge 72 have completely ruined the one thing that made it worth visiting. Now I have to go to Bristol or Gloucester to practice and if I want to play with friends even between 3 people it still works out crazy expensive. I've been to plenty of pool halls which offer affordable hourly prices for tables and reasonable drinks and everyone has a good time. Lounge 72 might as well get rid of their tables and just make a big dancefloor so they can fit more people in until the early hours. Lounge 72 is a perfect example of a business which would instantly fail in a larger city, the only reason it keeps business is that few places in town are open as late. Drinks are astronomical, music is woeful and the pool is now rendered completely immaterial to the whole experience. What a shame.

My boyfriend went out with his friends for his 19th birthday. He was enjoying being out until the bouncers fully dragged him out saying “ye we have to kick you out” without giving him a good reason. I find this very pathetic as if he did do something wrong he would agree and leave respectfully. By the end of the night he called me and told me that there was a mix up. At least have bouncers that do their job right :) I wouldn’t recommend this bar if they’re dragging the wrong people out.

Went in during lockdown. Social distancing just isn’t in place. People mix and merge randomly. So now I’ve been contacted because someone there got corona virus and now have to self isolate. I also wasn’t served at all. We went to go to the bar to get drinks but we’re turned away due to Covid restrictions, as people are walking around WITHOUT masks on. So in the end we didn’t get any drinks and just left because no one came to serve us even when we signalled multiple times. This seemed like a really nice place to go and I’m really disappointed with the service and Covid safety.

Can’t recommend, we weren’t allowed entry all because we were finishing drinks outside in the queue of the venue. When asked for further reason we weren’t given one. We weren’t drunk, just tipsy. We weren’t listens to when we tried to explain the situation to staff members who came outside. Overall the service was terrible! The bouncer told us to leave and that he didn’t want to have to look at us any more and there was no way he would let us in, he couldn’t give us any other reason that the fact we were finishing drinks in the queue of the club we were trying to get into.

All we did was finish our drink in the queue. No one would give us the time of day. We weren’t even drunk. He quote on quote said “you were drinking the queue of where you want to get in” but we had nothing else on us. It was unfair and unjustified we did nothing wrong and go no explanation. Also it was empty. We were specifically targeted for having one can in the queue soo obviously we were upset due to the way we were treated disgusting really

There was 12 of us all 18 after they ID’d us they then said we looked too young for their status and didn’t allow us in because we aren’t the biggest group absolute pathetic by them

Very rude and hostile to youngsters looking to have a good time. The managers weren’t hospitable and they looked for any excuse to kick us out. Due to covid the queues were long and girls were prioritised to be let in. Some of the staff were friendly though

Me and my friends come here every weekend sometimes on weekdays and cause no trouble we spend our money, lots of it drink our drinks and leave. Then on random nights I will be told I’m not allowed in tonight I ask for explanation and they say I don’t need one. The next night I will be allowed in then the next I won’t. I drive 45 minutes to get to lounge just to be told I’m not allowed in. When I’m least expecting it. There seems to be inconsistent management because whoever the guy with the bald head is he is rude doesn’t speak to anyone and just an all round not nice guy. I don’t know why I spend my money here, just to be told I’m not allowed in for no reason at all.

Gran lugar. Qued para entrar ya que estaba muy ocupado. Sorprendido de lo groseros que estaban siendo algunas de las otras personas con el personal cuando claramente solo estaban tratando de seguir las pautas del gobierno. El tipo que nos lleva a las mesas con barba pelirroja es un crédito para ti. Estaba nerviosa por volver a salir después de estar tanto tiempo aislada y me tranquilizó. El chico detrás de la barra también fue muy educado. El menú de cócteles tiene una buena variedad. El único inconveniente fue que el barman no ganó.

Así que algunos amigos y yo hicimos fila en la cola para entrar, en un momento uno del personal se acercó a nosotros y dijo que uno de nuestros amigos no podía entrar porque tenía una sudadera con capucha, así que decidimos que iba a hacerlo. corre a la casa de un amigo a la vuelta de la esquina para dejarlo y volver. I had some drink for my birthday and the guy with the top knot (dont his name) helped me and my freinds out with seating 2 tables next to each other as there was a big groupe of us the rest of the staff was helpful couldn't fault the place

Lounge is a really nice bar with a club like vibe. Definetly recommend to groups who wanna chill in a nice lounge.

El personal fue increíblemente grosero conmigo y mis amigos. Barman grosero que no estaba contento con mi grupo de amigos antes de que llegáramos al bar. Nos dijo que nos calmaramos o que tendríamos que irnos, sin decir nada más la próxima vez que llegáramos al bar, dijo que uno de mis amigos estaba borracho para que nos sirvieran, pero que el resto de nosotros estaba bien para continuar. Cuando decidimos pasar al lugar de al lado, el personal de la puerta nos dijo que no se nos permitía entrar, ya que nos habían echado del salón, lo que nadie nos había dicho. Ni siquiera dejaría entrar a mi amigo solo para usar el baño.

Good location and facilities (pool, darts) and you have to enjoy 'beat the barman' (another round for a quid per drink on the toss of a coin). Quiet in the afternoon, believe it gets very busy at night. Good fun.

The rating for this place depends on what you want and when you visit. It's the only place in town with a load of American pool tables and the 'beat the barman's option allows you to get a second round of drinks for free. Expect standard drinks and average food.

Another chill-out bar that's become a nightclub. Go for a nice game of pool with your friends, have your head blasted to bits by the ridiculously loud music, no conversation, go elsewhere. WHY?! If you want a banging nightclub, there are plenty of places to choose from - why does every bar have to do this now?

Came here with a group of friends and can’t complain. Great atmosphere and great staff. Upstairs bartender (big guy) was very professional and on-the-ball with serving.

This town centre bar is a unique place to drink for a few reasons. What initially seems like a large but ordinary bar, black leather sofas, loud music, a slick bar, etc., is augmented by the presence of many pool tables. Furthermore, their beat the barman policy (the barman flips a coin for every order made, if you guess right, you double your drinks for free) allows you to potentially have a very cheap night out! The range of drinks is good, the staff are friendly, and the music is good.

Shoot some pool. Get some beer. Easy.
