Came in for bottomless brunch and would come again. Upgraded so that we could have bottomless Tanquery gins and a wider selection of draft beers and its wells worth the extra £5. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was great too (we had pizzas). If you’re in the Southsea/Portsmouth area, it’s well worth a visit.

The food was great, the price was brilliant, the atmosphere was really nice and cosy, and the staff were really nice. The air con was a big plus in this heat!

Cannot recommend LJRs enough! Max seated and served us, he was friendly and professional as always. We both chose the lamb roast and had a side of cauliflower cheese. The roast potatoes are insane and I don't say this lightly but they are the best roasties I have had . For pudding my partner had cheesecake and I had hot chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream which was delicious! Cannot wait to try more of the menu now we are allowed back. Chris and the team should be incredibly proud of themselves.

I was meant to meet a blind date here but when I got there he was hella hideous so a very lovely barman called Shanbir helped me avoid him! Actually stayed a few hours because the barman was so funny and ended up meeting a gorgeous bus driver called Dave! Win win!!

Stopped in after work to meet a friend Iv not seen in ages due to COVID, max was so lovely the moment I walked in the door took my order Straight right away the drink was on the table by the time I got my coat off he was funny and kept me topped up with wine I was never waiting I had the jack fruit wrap what was delicious I’m not vegan but I go for those options more and loved every mouth full I booked a table for Sunday roast as iv heard some amazing things

Had a great lunch today , really nice food cooked by max. Very friendly staff doing a great job for the free school children's lunches during half-term 👍 👏 😀

max was the only reason we stayed for so long, he knew the whole menu off by heart, he recommended me a really nice cider i wouldn’t of known about otherwise, lovely hard worker:)

Visited the lord John Russell today for a Sunday roast with my wife and daughter. All I can say is that it was amazing. The cauliflower cheese with crispy onion bits was great.
