We came 4 times over a 2 week stay because we loved the setting, the menu and the staff. The crab sandwiches were a highlight as were the cream teas and cakes. We were particularly impressed with the warm and friendly staff who were extra-kind in accommodating our vegan son. Lots of lovely vegan options.

We have eaten at the cafe on many occasions at lunchtime. They always do great food, which is a bit different and very much worth the walk either for lunch or coffee/tea and cake or scones. We have often thought about going to their lobster night but never quite got around to it. However the “takeaway lobster night” - i.e. delivered to us, was too good an opportunity to miss. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The lobster was perfectly done and the accompanying crab pate starter and salads to go with the lobster were also superb. All washed down with a South African Sauvignon Blanc from the CoOp which was a good match. Hopefully when things are back to “normal” takeaway lobster will still be possible but if not then we will certainly visit for lobster night.

We went to the lobster night on 13th September. Staff welcoming, talk on lobster fishing interesting and the crab pate extremely good. However finding a dead caterpillar in the salad was disconcerting. When I drew this to the attention of both a waiter and the owner I got a fairly dismissive apology - to the extent that when an earwig came out of the desert decoration I did not bother to raise it. No compensation offered (none was asked for). This restaurant needs to work on hygiene and customer service

As other reviewers have said, portions are generous and the price is fair. This does not mean however that the food is average, as it sometimes does with those comments being made. The cafe is bright, light and welcoming - with a lovely terrace looking out to the sea in the distance. We had a fantastic crab salad. Lots of fresh white crab meat, a red crabmeat pate, lemon mayonnaise, delicious salad and a lovely warm brown roll. We enjoyed it so much that we called back in today with my parents, having taken them on a buggy ride round the island. Absolutely amazing day spent at The Sharksfin for our daughter's wedding last Saturday. Wow! What a venue! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Great service with happy staff who were enjoying looking after us and wanted to make the day special. The canapes were gorgeous and main meal truly excellent. The Chefs worked their socks off. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Lisa and her whole team. You were fantastic! We will be back for a roast very soon 🙂!

Poor service and virtually no vegan/vegetarian options. Asked for a veggie burger which was on the menu, they didn't have any. Asked what else was vegan, they didn't know. Service was very slow and all front of house seemed uninterested and more keen to huddle round the bar chatting. One waitress was particularly rude, I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend. Lots of much friendlier places in Falmouth.
