Such a shame. I loved this place and have spent hundreds here since being one of the first customers through the door when they opened in January 2021. But since the owners moved on to other projects it seems to have been left to go downhill. Coupled relentless increases to prices so that a takeaway sandwich is now £9!, it seems there are probably better options on nearby Henleaze High Street.

coffee was alright, but floor service was nowhere near alright After placing my order it took over half an hour for someone to swing by and even acknowledge that I was waiting for food, the girl then ran off to deliver the food to another table and came back a minute latter telling me that they ran out of chicken and they lost the ticket, then went to get the card machine to issue me a refund and asked me if she can get me anything else.... girl, the time to get me anything else was 20 minutes ago. The whole situation screams of poor communication between the kitchen and front facing staff, which often gets flushed out during the busy periods. Left hangry and really disappointed, after wanting to try this place for a while.

Ordered coffees to have in and were told it was a 10 minute wait. We sat at the other side of the counter and realised we wouldn’t hear them shout when the drinks were ready. I asked a member of staff if we should wait at the counter or if they’d bring them over (bearing in mind we paid extra to drink in), and was flatly told “we call your name” before she walked off. I then had to loiter, waiting to hear my name. The lemon pastry also tasted of garlic as it had been displayed next to the savoury ones. A shame as it looked tasty and the Pain au Chocolat was lovely. Nice deli but they need to work on their customer service.

I have been here a few times and always found the food to be OK, if a little over priced. Today I was in a rush so ordered a take away sandwich and tried to get myself a cold green tea from their fridge. The rude, ignorant and patronising young man serving me would not allow me to go to the fridge as he said he would get the tea for me. I explained that I wanted a cold one thinking he must have misunderstood me and presumed I wanted a hot one made by them, but he still insisted on getting it for me. I tried to pay and he asked for my name so I could collect the tea once it had been made. I asked if I could get it myself as I was in a rush to which he replied, "it's not made yet". Again I explained I wanted one from the fridge. "We don't do that" he insisted. I had to practically drag him to the fridge and point to a bottle of green tea. "Oh that's ChariTea" he helpfully informed me before reluctantly agreeing to sell me the bottle of green tea whilst looking at me like I was some sort of zoo exhibit. I can put up with high prices if the product is good but I'm. not prepared to be patronised by ignorant young men who are unwilling to admit they are wrong sometimes and forget that the customer is the one ultimately paying their wage. Don't go unless you want to be looked down upon and patronised.

So, I bought take-away rather than having the seated option but I reckon I've just eaten the most delicious salad of my life! A choice of three salads (I opted for a mixture) were tabouleh with feta, butternut squash and baby spinach and - the real doozie - chicory and pickled walnut with blue cheese dressing. Bejewelled with pomegranate seeds, the whole thing was sweet and crunchy and sublime. The 'small' option was a very generous portion indeed. The coffee (flat white) was perfectly roasted and creamy and hot and service was friendly and 'on the ball'. Top marks. Great place. Oh, those pickled walnuts!

First time of eating here today for both me and my friend. I have read the other reviews and I feel a little confused. I went in at 12.20, all tables were taken, although there were some single tables, but unfortunately there was two men sat at them with laptops, one on each table, so I asked a lady if I could sit on the end of the table, which was OK, then my friend arrived. Then people wanted me to get up to either sit the other side of me or to get out, this happened at least five times, until I had enough, so what you might think!! but I have a walking stick and knees that don't move as I would like them too. So I asked for the parsnip soup but no curry oil as I don't like spice, the man brought it over to us, immediately I asked for a soup spoon please, that's the only spoons we have, I am not posh, I like to have soup with the correct spoon, my soup was luke warm at a push, not what I expected at all, which was a great shame as it was nice, but just not warm enough!!! Anyway the coffee was lovely, although a little overpriced. My friend was drinking her coffee and chatting to me when she said where has my coffee gone, I said that lady behind you collected some dishes from this table, yes she did replace it, but it's not the point. So my impression is a lovely place, not fully equipped and don't visit at busy times!!!

Best Bacon Bap EVER! What makes me qualified to give this review? I have a lot of experience in eating bacon. I eat bacon at least 3 - 4 times a week I seek it out and I cook it myself. I like it fried grilled deep fried. Ok I think you get my point I love bacon. Now for the review. To sum it up in one and save you any more time reading this review it was Simply Perfect. The bacon is good quality, always the number one factor in any bacon meal. The cooking. Was done to perfection and cooked the only was that bacon should ever be consumed Crispy. The bun was a freshly baked brioche bun somethehered in some sort of a tomoto based relish that combined with the crispy bacon made for a sweet and smokey heavenly mouth orgasam. I will be back to try all the other breakfast. This one is a 5 star winner from a certified fat man x

Service was quick and staff were friendly. You order and pay at the counter. I liked the layout and interior design inside, and ogled at the carpentry of the wood outdoor seating. Only downside is the road noise but that can't be helped. An awful experience. You get charged extra for sitting in to have a coffee and pastries and while the coffees are alright, 4.75 for a mocha seems an absolute rip off for what it is. Staff are incredibly unfriendly, and rude and you almost have to beg to be served. There also seems to be a difference in treatment between various customers which is awful. We went it about 40 mins before closing and ordered two coffees and pastries. We noticed that other customers being were offered free loaves of bread before they left (to clear end of day stock), however when we enquired we got charged nearly £5 for the exact same loaf of bread!! We have bought many coffees and pastries here over the last two years and food from the deli, but this will be the last time, due to the woeful treatment we received from the staff today.

Visited this cafe today for the first time and ordered 2 flat white coffees with Oatley milk for which I was charged £7.50 . Quite a steep price for a basic coffee served in a glass tumbler. We sat outside on a damp bench and the coffee arrived on a dirty tray. No spoons, no sugar, and when asked for, only white sugar and had to request brown. None of this was terrible except if I have been charged top rate, I expect top rate customer service. I pointed out the dirty tray to the waitress who said “ It’s only chocolate powder “ ( From another customer’s order). No apology , just this remark with the inference that I was making a fuss about nothing. The coffee was good enough but nothing else was. If you want to charge high prices then provide high service. It seems from the other reviews this is a common theme. We will NOT return, there are too many other places with good coffee pleasant staff

There is a range of food choices from bakery to salads to huge pizza slices, yes you read that right 🍕🤤 I had a coconut latte and a quiche with salad. The coffee was good and the quality is there as I was not hit by the sweat and jitters of a bad one 😆 Food was nice, not a big fan of the salad or the price charged for the small portion so I may not eat here again. The website advertises open till 6 pm yet upon arriving the lunch menu is limited to 12-3pm. Seems to be the trend of food service times in this quarter of Bristol. We arrived at 2.40 pm. While having been told that there were no salads my quiche lacked the offered side salad without any sides, explanation/apology of same or discount for lacking sides. The quiche tasted more like scrambled eggs in a tough pastry base. My partner’s salt beef Rueben was lovely. Staff washing up at the serving counter might be money saving but detracts from the atmosphere. Couldn’t wait to get out and escape to the pub opposite. As regular visitors to Southmead Hospital, from the Cotswolds, and the Scott’s Cinema we’ll go to Gloucester Road for our culinary delights. By the way, we’ve run our own food service.

A relatively recent opening just opposite Waitrose at the end of Henleaze High Street, this offers both takeaway and sit down food in a relaxed and casual setting as well as a deli style provisions store at the rear. We just wanted to grab a quick sandwich, and there were some tasty looking laid out on the counter to the right. We had to wait for some time to be served due to the queue in front of us, but when it was eventually our turn and went to order, we were told that side of the shop was for takeaway’s only, and we had to order at the other counter. Perhaps a sign to say that might have been useful, instead of making people queue up for nothing…. So, we duly went around to the other side, and queued again. We were advised that our food would be brought to the table but that we should wait for the drinks to be prepared. I got my drinks and returned to the table. And waited… And waited… We must have been waiting about 20 minutes for two sandwiches that I could have picked up off the takeaway counter in 20 seconds. Why on earth the takeaway server couldn’t simply pop them on a plate instead of in a bag I don’t know, but it was very frustrating. Eventually they turned up, but one order was completely wrong, it wasn’t a sandwich at all. Now to be fair, this may of course have accounted for the delay as it was something that had to be prepared. Although when I say prepared, I mean three cold ingredients simply popped on a plate, so I’ve still no idea why that took 20 minutes. Nonetheless, this was swiftly rectified and the correct order brought over. But of course, if they hadn’t had such a ridiculous ordering system in operation, the problem wouldn’t have occurred in the first place. After that, things started to look up. Both the sandwiches we had were very good, lots of filling and very tasty. The accompanying latte was pretty good to. And although I didn’t try it, the chocolate caramel cornflake bake looked delicious, I’ll definitely have to pop back in to try one of them. Despite the mix up with the order and the somewhat chaotic feel of the place, I actually quite liked it here. It’s got a great ambience, friendly staff and good food, and some very nice items in the provisions store. I like the concept, they just need to work on the service a bit.

If you are looking for a coffee and some deli products this is a lovely spot as the coffee is good and the deli is solid. However I had lunch here for the first time after only getting coffee and focaccia up until now. Each ended up spending £17 on a burger with fries and a coffee. They didn't have regular buns so substituted this with focaccia which turned things incredibly greasy. Ate here on a couple other occasions too and found the food sub-par. The front of house seemed under trained and I felt like an inconvenience with only the barrista knowing what was going on. We got two of the the three dishes at the same time and then had to wait about 5-10 minutes for the third. As a chef, I felt sorry for the kitchen as I could tell they hadn't been told we were all at the same table as we paid separately and they had probably already started cooking the first dish by the time the third ticket came through. Wanted to love this experience as it's local and very pretty but think I'll be sticking to just coffee and bread.

Tried using as a cafe on a couple of occasions. Limited choice and very expensive. There are better cafes around.

Great little coffee and delicatessen, bakery is wonderful and personally the best croissants in Bristol must pop back and try breakfast, but if you are in the area, please pop in to this local and independent shop, it's worth a visit

A mixed review based on numerous visits. Shop: There are some great products (beer, wine, dried goods) and the bread is fantastic. Cafe: Virtually no vegan options, overpriced and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It often feels like you are an inconvenience, even on the most basic level of interaction. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are seeking good value for money or if you want to feel that your custom is appreciated.

Incredible small plates menu that changes regularly, Burrata and tomato salad was beautiful and fried manchego was ridiculously delicious. Lovely people and a really relaxed atmosphere.

Slightly mixed view- lovely pastries but it is sometimes a bit chaotic. The coffee is very inconsistent. Often over extracted and bitter as a result. More consistency for the price needed I think.

The food and the coffee are amazing but they don’t do any vegan food and the staff are appallingly. They obviously don’t want to be there. My daughter has allergies so when I asked what was in something the staff member said “it’s pecan brittle” as if I was then meant to know the ingredients. She needed up not having anything. Do not go if you have any allergies they won’t have anything you can eat and won’t help tell you ingredients. I’d love to go back as the food was so good, but I won’t be as the staff are so rude.

Second time I’ve been here for dinner - with different friends each time. Delicious food & generous portions for small plates plus lovely wine (recommend the Alvarinho) - what’s not to like? Really great service too. Will be back soon.

Asked for bacon and egg bap for takeaway. Found added paste that I had no idea what was in it. Egg was very under cooked and bacon was 90%fat. coffee was a joke asked for a large white and was given less then 150ml £12 wasted. Won't be going back

Delicious and plentiful snacks and deserts at reasonable prices. Well designed seating area in front of the shop to ensure that only its customers can be seated there.

Really disappointed with my lunch experience today, I had the cheese toastie and it was not well done and my daughter had the chicken salad and it didn't taste of anything and the chicken was not well cooked, with coffee and cake was almost £30! I have enjoyed the food in the past so it was very disappointing, I think since they expanded the food is not as good not sure if they have different chefs or if they are focusing on the evening means more? I hope they improved as it very convenient.

We’d been wanting to try this place for a while. We walked in on a Saturday lunchtime - lots of people sat waiting for food. One lady was at the counter asking where her sandwiches were which she’d been waiting half an hour for! The staff didn’t seem particularly bothered and said they’d be out soon. We were wanting to eat with our two year old little boy. I asked for a high chair and the staff member seemed more interested in joking around with his colleague, than helping - we had to carry the high chair to the table ourselves and find somewhere to park the buggy. Concerned by the number of people waiting for food we asked how long the wait was for food. The two staff members joking around behind the counter said about half an hour and then joked that we could sit around and watch them get flustered or words to that effect. Not really very helpful or funny. I went next door to the deli and asked for a piece of quiche in a takeaway box as my little boy was hungry and couldn’t wait 30 minutes for food. I was told I’d have to pay the inflated cafe price if I wanted to take the food into the cafe. I explained I had a hungry toddler to feed and £5 was already extortion for a piece of quiche. He’d only be using a chair , not cutlery or crockery or being served. He simply couldn’t wait 30 minutes for food. Exasperated at this point, I said to the girl serving it was ridiculous and not my fault they couldn’t sort their kitchen out, I simply needed to feed my baby. The girl said don’t have a go at me. I don’t own the place. Not exactly the best customer experience all round. My advice to anyone going is don’t bother! The owners need to get in there and work in the cafe front of house to sort it out quick!

This place has the nicest cinnamon buns in town but every interaction with staff has been quite off putting and combined with high prices it is somehow quickly making me feel bad about leaving my money there. I have visited it 3 times and all three times the service has been equally bad. Every time I went back, I thought maybe it was me misunderstanding and judging too harsh but nope, I am no longer up for it. There are always at least 2-3 young ladies behind the counter or close by but none of them has been even helpful or polite. Getting a word out of them is quite difficult and every question about food from my side felt like a massive imposition. I mean, is it normal that when I get to the counter to receive just a stare down without even a simple "hello" or "what would you like". Or when I pay for the food, just to give me my change and not even say "thank you" or tell me what's next, I just need to guess if food will be taken to me or do I need to stand there and wait. The idea behind all of this is lovely and the food (from what I sampled) is nice but just not worth the attitude. I hope the manager is reading these reviews and will spend some time training their staff. By the looks of it, I am not the only one who has received a bad customer service.
