Little Lotus Sushi + Bento in Kirklees

This is the number 1 go-to place to eat for lunch for my kids. All three (ages 7-14 years old) agree to come here which is amazing! Favourites include the salty edamame 🫛 and salmon teriyaki. Good healthy tasty food in a clean comfortable environment. Never disappoints.

For the fans of sushi and katsu, there is nothing better in Huddersfield currently. Very clean and quick. All prepared within eyesight. Either to take away or sit in. I tried the chicken katsu and my wife had a prawn katsu with noodles. Absolutely amazing in generous potions. The only downside is the lqck of parking as it's located within the pededestrianised market area

Little Lotus seems to be a little known gem. The food is really delicious - although I need to learn how to eat ramen noodles. Perhaps I should have accepted the chopsticks that were offered instead of trying to use a fork and spoon !

I’ve been to both the old and new location, ate in, taken away and got a too good to go bag and the food has always been nice and the staff have been helpful, it’s abit on the pricey side but it’s worth it. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the bubble tea, I’ve tried it a couple times and it’s never really that good.

The food was some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten. The staff were amazing and super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was lovely. Perfect experience and I will definitely be returning!!

This place needs shutting down - chicken katsu is so dry and chewy.. They obviously dont sell enough and have to put old ingredients on the shelves..

The food was amazing, very nice and cheap in price, served fresh, the servers were very nice and helpful, the eating area and tables were very clean. Overall a 10/10 experience 👍.

Food was sadly lacking. Sushi tasted not much better than something from a supermarket meal deal selection. Gyoza was rubbery Nice place, but I dont think I'd go for anything from the sushi selection if I ever go again.

Opted for chilli chicken ramen takeaway. It was really poor. You pick the bowl from the fridge, stock and sauces are added at the counter. The stock was lukewarm, the chicken was a weird dark colour which I hope was down to a marinade (?) and it was all very very salty. Alongside the chicken and noodle there were no veggies. Disappointing.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime with my 10yo daughter who loves their chicken teriyaki sushi, fantastic service, fantastic food as always. I had the chicken teriyaki from the hot food counter and it was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Always make an effort to come here whenever I'm in huddersfield. I've tried 3 different dishes from here and all have been amazing. Very tasty, full of flavour and hot

Really wonderful little restaurant. Made fresh every day and it pays off in taste and looks - the food is overall just delicious. Great service too, the workers were very smiley and polite.

My partner and I have been coming to Little Lotus for a few years now. The food is always perfect and the staff are genuinely so lovely. To say its such a small stall you can really tell they put a lot of passion into their work. It's an incredibly relaxing feeling to sit next to the stall and observe the care they put into their work, while you enjoy the most unique little food stall in all of Huddersfield.

I have been a student in Huddersfield for the last 3 years, and I have always come to Little Lotus when I fancy something different to the usual. The Japanese chicken curry with rice has always been my go to. It's always picked me up on a cold day, it gives me comforting vibes and tastes amazing. I have brought several friends here who have visited me over the years to Little Lotus, and all have loved it. I've drove to their branch in Halifax too which has a very cute set up! 5/5, great food, great vibes. I had never even tried sushi before coming to Little Lotus, I love the crispy onions on the sushi and the chicken! Just thought I would leave a review as I have been a happy customer for some time :)

Quick good service, food always fresh and good value for money

Visited lotus two days in a row, the first day I bought a small Katsu Curry with noodles. I only got 3 pieces of breaded chicken and they clearly hadn’t been cooked for long enough. The sauce was super runny and potatoes hard. Usually the noodles used for hot food are seasoned and kept heated in a container however at this branch they just use ramen noodles and cook them in broth before putting them in your container all wet. The second day I came back hoping it was just an off day, I ordered a small chicken teriyaki with noodles, again the same issue, wet noodles and I even got some carrot and mange tout in my food which are only included in the ramen (would upload images however there is no option for me to do this) I ordered a small however I was charged over £6 when it only should have been 5.49. The women who were working this day were polite however they were chatting and not really paying attention to what they were doing. Avoid the Huddersfield branch as you will be disappointed however I recommend the Halifax branch.

Great katsu lunch cooked and served in front of you Fab flavours reasonably priced. Fast service, polite staff perfect food, 10 * from me. Id defo recommend this place.

Helpful staff prepares the ramen for you while you wait.. and the spicy chicken ramen is especially delicious. Sushi, I have tried takeaways and also great . Tge drawback is tge seats which are a bit congested

I've been eating here for years. Great tasting good, eco friendly packaging. I've tried most things on the menu. Teriyaki chicken / salmon etc is the go to food for me it's so nice and filling. The katsu curry was a let down, extremely bland but the sushi is perfect. Friendly staff, albeit on the quieter side. When I'm on break its my go to place for food.

This has such fantastic fresh food that's to die for, this small outlet is big on good food that will change your outlook on oriental foods. Do not miss out on this gem.

My son's favourite place in Halifax. This is set up different, but the food is still as good. Lovely staff who patently answered my questions and then dished up some lovely tasty food.

A fantastic little break from the norm. I'm a frequent visitor to Japan and the surrounding Islands. This is a good version of authentic food by what appears to be an authentic chef? in a pseudo authentic dining environment. You can almost forget you're in Huddersfield until you hear the Yorkshire accents going by. :) If I had to drop a star, then it's for cleanliness. The table corners and the chairs were quite dirty. This is fairly normal in the East (in SOME places) but I don't think it's tolerated over here so much. So definitely room for improvement, but do check out this place. Great prices too and they also do take out.

Delicious sushi and hardly any waiting time

Wonderful little gem in the heart of Kingsgate! For the price you get more than enough food to satisfy any levels of hunger! And the food tastes absolutely stunning, it fills me with joy knowing that this establishment is still here after the few years it's been open.

They always produce solid food that tastes great and fills you up. The staff are friendly and keep things moving quickly. The chicken gyoza ramen is fantastic too.

My favourite place to go, either for a sit-down meal or a takeaway snack. The sushi they do is always of the highest quality and utterly delicious. They also do amazing deals at the end of their working day in order to reduce waste and make sure as much food is enjoyed as possible, which is something I particularly admire them for. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good bite to eat in town centre

Excellent Sushi especially the Spicy Tuna and Salmon, it tasted great and just melted in the mouth. Good portions for the money, especially compared to other sushi chains. Very recommended and look forward to my next visit 😁

I have been coming here since it first opened in 2015 I think it was and I still enjoy my food from there as much as I did when it first opened. The chicken katsu is my favourite 😍 can’t wait for it to be back open.

Amazing sushi for value & location! Best sushi I've had since living in Vancouver which is a pretty big deal. Would highly recommend. Also think they should open a proper restaurant, would be awesome.

Ordered Katsu chicken twice now and both times not 1 piece of chicken inside my food just the vegetable and sauce last time il be going here !!!

The food was incredible. One of the items from the menu was missing so instead they sent 3 different boxes on top of what we ordered. I absolutely loved the food I had here, the fish was very fresh and its reasonable to assume it was caught that morning. It was my first time trying a spicy tuna roll and it was delicious. This still wasn't enough to get my girlfriend to enjoy sushi, I fear nothing ever will :'(

Good fresh fish, lovely staff, fair prices

The food in the little fridges is quite good, salmon especially delicious. They also offer ice cream for picky eaters or little ones. Not a large seating area so be weary of that- the boba/milk tea was incredibly sweet and automatically gave me a tooth ache. When asking for the drink they only had 2 out of the many flavours available- wasn’t very impressed with customer service too as all working members of staff were having conversations with friends stood by the shop as a large cue was left unattended and forming in front of the till.

I love the sushi in this place. Better than Yo Sushi any day! Such a variety and beautifully presented! I would like to see blue fin fatty tuna and white fish sushi. They need more mochi variety and reduce the price on condiments if they are doing take away bags. All staff should be approachable and friendly. Not all are. Refreshing and tasty!

Love going to this place, the sushi is very good and the staff are really friendly. They have options catering to Pescatarians and, although have not tried them, have many options for vegetarians on the menu as well. Would definitely recommend if you want a meal or a just a quick snack.

My favourite spot in Huddersfield. Fresh sushi, delicious hot food and amazing bubble tea 😍 I’m also impressed how the staff are willing to go extra miles to make customers happy. What a shame I can’t go to the shop very often and be served by those lovely girls. Anyway, thank God I have Just Eat now so at least I can have the food delivered to me anytime I want 😂 Tbh I’ll give 6 stars if I could 👍

One of the top spots in Huddersfield. The food is freshly prepared, presented nicely and meticulously. The Rainbow set is especially delicious and the price is quite reasonable. The Vietnamese staff girl is extremely friendly and pretty. Will come back soon :)

it was surprisingly good for how reasonably the price was. I highly recommend to bring a friend or more with you to enjoy most of it. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Huge impression with the Asian girl that served our table. Would come back again for more Miso soup and noodles.

Been there a couple of times and I have to say I am pretty satisfied with the quality of the food here.

I’ve had sushi on holiday and normally from the supermarket. Tried it from here and had the rainbow sushi - wasn’t disappointed! It was so fresh, looked amazing and tasted absolutely delicious! The amount most certainly filled me up! I cannot wait to go again! My new fav place!

Little lotus is a great experience, with freshly made sushi every day, and great ramens and other foods which are brilliantly made. It's great for a quick snack or to have lunch. It's a small buffet therefore it's not too good for big families as there is not a lot of seats. They are both follow equality and differentiation as they provide spoon, forks and chopsticks. The sushi are great and have a balanced taste. The bubble tea is a must have and a must try, I think the vanilla one could have more vanilla flavour but the chocolate one we had was great.

Really enjoy this place, its cheap for meal and always tasty on the numerous times I've popped by on the weekend.

Love this place. My daughter and I visit every week. They sell lovely food. They will make up dishes which are on the boards if they don't have any on the shelf. The staff are lovely and always greet you with a smile and a hello. There is a small area either side of where the staff serve to sit in and eat your food as well as a takeaway service.
