Little Lotus Sushi + Bento in Kirklees

Got the noodles but they were really dry surprisingly even tho they had lots of broth

Great place to eat when you're craving for sushi or a well portioned rise bowl, I personally don't go there too often, but it's always a great choice in huddersfield. The price is semi-high but reasonable depending on what you get.

I don't normally come to Huddersfield. After work, I noticed a number of people eating food from Little Lotus in the city centre. Intrigued, I made my way to this food place. There is a good number of seating both upstairs and downstairs. I sat upstairs, hence the photo attached. Some of the food here is halal. However, it's best to ask the staff before making your order. Readymade halal boxes usually say 'HALAL' on them. It's to do with the sauces they use. I was moved by the variety of foods this place has to offer. Mostly readymade foods are sold here, located in the fridges at the front of the store. There is also hot food served at the counter. Based on all the hot options, just one chicken option was not halal. Again, always ask if you are unsure of what you can and cannot eat. I opted for the Veg gyoza Miso Rice Noodles from the fridges, which the lady heated up for me. I also bought the HALAL Veggie Set to go. It had what appeared to be strands of seaweed on top of rice balls in a fried pocket, topped with crispy fried onions, and with a side of sushi rounds. My sushi vocabulary isn't that great as you can probably tell lol. The Veg gyoza Miso Rice Noodles were tasty. Not overly different from similar foods spots, but very hearty and piping hot! Proper comfort food :) I would highly recommend this place for those looking to eat halal sushi, noodles, soups and rice bowls. Overall, very happy with my visit here.

They def changed sizing options which shame and got rid of most bubble tea but food was nice

Even though in notes I said no ice in bubble tea I had ice so only downside was that food was lovely

Have been going to the Kingsgate stall for years and I tried the shop outside today. The food has gone downhill! The katsu curry isn't katsu curry anymore. It has a more coconut flavour to it now. Also the original katsu had potatoes and the lady behind the till said they don't do that anymore as well as adding the spring onions again they don't do this anymore. Looks like the owners are holding back on ingredients that made the food amazing and prioritising profits. It has gone expensive too after they moved to the shop. Will not go here again whereas this was my lunch spot regularly.

Amazing food btw Ordered a surprise bag only to be notified of cancellation while driving home . Contacted the store to find out what happened only to be told bags still available now got to wait 2 weeks for my money back!!!! NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!

Ordered on line for delivery. Great sushi we both had the Rainbow boxes. Fab.

Went to this place through Uber eats. Ordered 5 meals, only got 3 meals as this place didn’t give the driver both bag's of food. Then I get refunded wrong. In the end I paid £52 for £30 worth of food 👎🏼 robbed

Order from this place few weeks ago (salmon sushi) tasted not right , i thought today i will ordered different And i got a food again didn’t taste right , i been asked sit upstairs half my order take time to make lady bring my order and I asked for a spoon she said we don’t provide table service i need go again downstairs grab the spoon ( lady was rude and forget how to be polite ) in my opinion they must have cutlery available in the first floor not only ground floor , Very disappointed and won’t be ordering again.

The food was cold, quite dry, not enough sauce and the chicken tasted a bit stale. Used to get this food in kingsgate and it was lovely, standards have slipped won’t order again.. sorry

Little Lotus used to be hit n miss with delivery, but now it's a hit every time. The food is well packaged, great servings and tasty every single time. Absolutely *love* this restaurant.

Twice now ive been dissapointed by these guys, again with the japanese curry.. it was just chicken and no sauce. This place used to be so good, since moving buildings theyve gone down hill.

Delivery was quick however my salmon tasted off and I couldn’t bring myself to eat, besides that everything else was good!

Food...fresh sushi is tasty. Good addition to the shop, is the hot drinks. I like my tea with sushi. Helpful staff And lots of seating area means, I will come back with friends.

Order from this place all the time - haven’t in a few weeks and thought I’d treat myself today but I wish I hadn’t. I don’t know what’s happened in the kitchen but the ramen I ordered was completely different to usual. Vegetables chopped so thick and overcooked. Broth in the ramen and miso soup was so salty it wasn’t even edible. Very disappointed and won’t be ordering again.

this place has changed the Japanese curry used to have veg like patato in it, only has chicken which is a massive let down.. also the beef red curry was fire so hot be warned only order if you like spicy stuff

They were almost closing and sold out of a few items so they gave us lots of extra food. Highly appreciate the generosity, really delicious food.

This is the number 1 go-to place to eat for lunch for my kids. All three (ages 7-14 years old) agree to come here which is amazing! Favourites include the salty edamame 🫛 and salmon teriyaki. Good healthy tasty food in a clean comfortable environment. Never disappoints.

For the fans of sushi and katsu, there is nothing better in Huddersfield currently. Very clean and quick. All prepared within eyesight. Either to take away or sit in. I tried the chicken katsu and my wife had a prawn katsu with noodles. Absolutely amazing in generous potions. The only downside is the lqck of parking as it's located within the pededestrianised market area

Both the katsu curry chicken with rice and sushi were really good as usual and healthier than many other restaurants on just eat.

Ordered chicken curry udon, only udon comes with hot water. What’s wrong with you guys. The package is all damaged. Miso soup spilled out. Absolute waste of money and time.

Little Lotus seems to be a little known gem. The food is really delicious - although I need to learn how to eat ramen noodles. Perhaps I should have accepted the chopsticks that were offered instead of trying to use a fork and spoon !

Usually love the food from here but on this occasion when I ordered Japanese curry...instead i got chicken with the sauce poured on top? No carrots or potato's.. if you've run out of the product take it off the menu 🙄 kinda ruined my meal

I’ve been to both the old and new location, ate in, taken away and got a too good to go bag and the food has always been nice and the staff have been helpful, it’s abit on the pricey side but it’s worth it. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the bubble tea, I’ve tried it a couple times and it’s never really that good.

Main dish tastes and smells off! Something very pungent that I can’t quite put my finger on. I ordered chicken I believe that there is pork or something else in there. Have chosen not to eat it. Gyoza we’re good though

This place needs shutting down - chicken katsu is so dry and chewy.. They obviously dont sell enough and have to put old ingredients on the shelves..

Delivery driver parked outside the shop, and complained that he couldn't find us, when the shop has a huge sign and I described my husband who was in a NEON GREEN SHIRT, He then proceeded to ARGUE that he couldn't see him, he was right next to the car.

Food was sadly lacking. Sushi tasted not much better than something from a supermarket meal deal selection. Gyoza was rubbery Nice place, but I dont think I'd go for anything from the sushi selection if I ever go again.

Opted for chilli chicken ramen takeaway. It was really poor. You pick the bowl from the fridge, stock and sauces are added at the counter. The stock was lukewarm, the chicken was a weird dark colour which I hope was down to a marinade (?) and it was all very very salty. Alongside the chicken and noodle there were no veggies. Disappointing.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime with my 10yo daughter who loves their chicken teriyaki sushi, fantastic service, fantastic food as always. I had the chicken teriyaki from the hot food counter and it was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Food has been getting worse and worse lately, which is really disheartening. Chicken teriyaki was just grissly chicken with virtually plain rice (the teriyaki glaze used to be applied thick and was amazing - this portion had the most pathetic drop in the middle and was really subpar) and the portion sizes are getting smaller and smaller with prices staying the same. I just don't get it. I order from Little Lotus a lot because it quickly became my favourite restaurant, but now I think I'm not so sure I'll continue. It's way too expensive and food is lacking massively.

Really wonderful little restaurant. Made fresh every day and it pays off in taste and looks - the food is overall just delicious. Great service too, the workers were very smiley and polite.

Completely frozen edamame beans, impossible to eat! My noodles were clumped together and didn’t even come with the veggies that is supposed to come in it! What a waste of money

My partner and I have been coming to Little Lotus for a few years now. The food is always perfect and the staff are genuinely so lovely. To say its such a small stall you can really tell they put a lot of passion into their work. It's an incredibly relaxing feeling to sit next to the stall and observe the care they put into their work, while you enjoy the most unique little food stall in all of Huddersfield.

I love the food and everything is worh the price.
