Stopped to quickly buy a sandwich and drink for my onward train journey, spied what I expected to be some nice sandwiches wrapped in brown paper in the glass counter. Don't be deceived like me!, once on the train I unwrapped to find a cheapest of cheap soggy sliced white bread sandwich wrapped in cling film with sweaty limp lettuce. For the hefty price of nearly £5 I was expecting something better.

So sad to find out that our favourite Little Italy (Wendover) cafe has closed. Maria didn't only serve the best coffee in Wendover but also the best cakes (especially chocolate chip banana cake) and flapjacks. My husband swears by her flapjacks, he's tried everywhere but nothing compared! We're lucky to get some a week ago to take to France at least. Not been able to say goodbye to her, if you were able to get this I wish you all the best. Missing your lively, smiley face already (even if it was only 6am), good luck to your new site. To train commuters, if you see Little Italy please try them they have the best caffeine fix you'll get on your journey, highly recommended.

Always preferring independent coffee shops to the large national chains, and this one (now renamed Norsk, with a lovely Scandinavian vibe) reminds me why. Today was the last time I shall go to or recommend Little Italy in Haddenham. I admit there was a lot of riders in there today but we got moaned at for parking our bikes out the back and there was nobody out there so it was to no inconvenience to anyone. My groups bikes were parked out the front of the cafe, very neatly I may add also not inconveniencing anyone but both groups got moaned at by a lady who is either the owner or manager. (Tall blond). Little Italy promote themselves as a bike cafe, they even have their own cycling tops for sale. But what with the grumpy manager (sic) and even more grumpy customers, ("Bloody cyclists coming in and taking all the seats", we didn't). I shan't be bothering anymore. There a very nice garden centre down the road, we'll take our money there in future. Shame that as the other staff were brilliant and handled us with humour and skill.

Have visited Little Italy in Haddenham several times recently since critically reviewing it in May 2017 after a major makeover. It has settled down very well since. They have clearly responded to the feedback on the menu and Staff Training and fine tuned the offering. So it is a far more attentive, efficient and user-friendly experience now. Better staffed by a team who generally interact well with the clientele...lots of eye contact and verbal engagement now. Good food. Ever more popular so allow yourself plenty of time for a pleasant cafe experience. Oh...and the best coffee in Haddenham by a country mile.

My scramble eggs and smoked salmon was generous and delicious with a cracking flat white to follow. The staff are really helpful and friendly and surprisingly it was my waitress who proceeded to cook my eggs! My meal was finished off by a cake that had been baked that day and straight out off the kitchen dripping with icing, whats not to love about that? The new decor is also in keeping with the new menu and feels light a fresh and airy, so well done and keep up the great work.We will certainly be back.

We had been told this was a nice place for a coffee and light meal but it seems from recent reviews that 'was' is the operative word! We ordered at the counter then sat down. The place was incredibly noisy with no soft furnishings to deaden it. Some of the tables are quite wide so the people talking to others on their tables couldn't really hold a quiet conversation. A waitress came with cutlery and was maybe just a bit too chatty; there is a happy medium between an interest in your customers and 'grilling them' on what they had been doing that day! Then we waited for our simple open sandwiches, and waited, and waited.... Another waitress came and asked if we wanted to order so we said we had, and if it was going to be much longer we would like our money back and would leave. She said she would hurry it up, but the problem seemed to be the girls preparing the food needed help/advice/input from the owner who was busy talking to a customer - and the girls clearly didn't want to interrupt. We had intended to have coffee and cake afterwards but didn't bother, just wanted to get out.We visited a month ago so maybe soft furnishings have been added since then. However, the owner really needs to supervise and ensure customers are being served.

I really like Little Italy and have been a regular visitor. I was excited to see the results of the refurbishment and there are aspects of it I think are great. However I have been disappointed in relation to the menu and the service. The menu doesn't make sense to me - I'm not sure what the aim is but it seems over-complicated and targeted at a very particular market. There are now fewer cakes, no salads to choose from, no jacket potatoes, an omelettes and no straight forward sandwiches. Bread is being sold but I'm not sure that I'd ever buy a loaf of bread for over four quid. The service is now apparently table service, except that it isn't really. The first time I went in I was told it had changed so I sat down and it was fine. The times I have been in since, I have sat, waited, and then got up again and ordered at the counter (which the staff didn't not seem happy about). People must be spending at least double the amount of time at their seats just because of the wait, and I imagine this can't be good for business?I'm really hoping these are teething problems following some changes and that this lovely place will respond to the feedback and get back on track.

This is now sadly lacking in the Haddenham outlet. No eye contact, indifferent and painfully slow service on Saturday. It is like wandering into a big 'work experience' exercise. Whether this cafe buy in or cook their 'French' pastries, they would do well to actually look at the colour of the bake. The selection the day I arrived were so pale, I opted for the best cooked of the bunch to stave off my breakfast hunger. It was just a buttery doughy mass & clearly uncooked anywhere other than the very edges. If you're going to do a French pastry, do a French pastry, not an insipid version the colour& texture of a British wet weekend! Eek..

Having eaten here numerous times, always with great food, friendly staff and fabulous relaxed atmosphere I was surprised and disappointed by our brunch experience today. Table had not been cleaned and was sticky. Coffee spilled as served with no offer to replace saucer full of coffee. Food... my husband had full English, sausages delicious as always but bacon and eggs over cooked and hard. I ordered omelette which was so burnt I should have sent it back but we were in a rush so didn't have time to re-order. I hope this is a one off experience on a bad day for what is normally a fantastic place.

I love really good coffee and when I'm on holiday I miss it, as its hard to find a good barista sometimes. But luckily for us, this gem was right on our doorstep! We also ate breakfast here on our last day before heading home. Lovely coffee blend, great food and energetic staff. 5 star. Smoked salmon and rocket bagel is highly recommended!

This is a very small, tucked away coffee shop, and if you are not local you would never find it by accident. It is just a lovely place to while away some time with friends, and it goes without saying that the food & coffee are excellent.

Great coffee and lovely food in the most unlikely of places. The owners have created a great feel to the place - perfect coffee stop. Definitely one for the cyclists.

The coffee is good, the pastries tasty as are the sandwiches. But what makes the coffee bar is the fantastic service. All the staff are always friendly, smiling and make the experience of getting a coffee both personal and fun.

We stopped here about 70 miles into a long bike ride event. This place was fantastic. Excellent coffee and cakes, as you would expect, being Italian. As well as this, a great choice of cooked snacks as well. There was even a little courtyard around the back, so we could park our bikes and keep an eye on all the expensive carbon on show. Putting this place on my cycle route more often. :)

Found this place on Trip Advisor so gave it a try. What a great place - good vibe, very helpful, cheerful staff. Lovely décor with sofas, wooden flooring inside, or great suntrap courtyard outside. Super coffee - decaf is not heat treated - even better. The smells coming from the open plan kitchen have meant that I must return for a proper lunch some time!

Our group of nine stopped off here for refreshment in the middle of a Saturday afternoon, and had no problem getting seated. Really nice atmosphere inside, and good service. Would have been nice to have stayed longer.

Had a lovely snack there a few days ago very tasty and resasonaly priced. I would have given it a 4 stars but when we walked it it was not busy, there were several people behind the counter but went we up to the counter waited to be serviced but was pretty much ignored. We nearly left but then one of the girls served us - after that we had great service.

We came across this little gem when out for a walk in Wendover. Although the outside seating allocation was full due to the lovely weather, we easily found a spot inside. We both ordered the large breakfast, which arrived promptly. For the price, you got a very good portion. The black pudding was very tasty, the hash browns were perfectly crispy, the bacon was meaty with a nice margin of fat for flavour; also, perfectly cooked eggs, well cooked sausages etc. The food was piping hot too. Our only criticism would be the use of semi-skimmed milk. Recent studies show that full-fat dairy products are protective against diabetes, obesity and heart disease. Large numbers of people and cafes are switching back to whole milk. I recommend you use whole milk too for health and flavour reasons, as it makes coffee etc. taste much creamier and you need less of it!

Couple plus adult son. Booked in here as a motorhome stopover. Table booked for the evening. Landlord was happy for us to park up with permission in the morning so we could spend the day with our son who’s moved in locally. Lovely olde worldy country pub. Clean, friendly, proper home cooking & prices. Play area for kids outside and covered seating also outside. Peaceful nights sleep on sloping grass. Defo recommend and defo return.

A lovely 2 days stay at Hartwell House Spa. A beautiful house in exquisite grounds. The spa facilities are top notch and the treatments exceptional. If you book a massage, Christine is your girl! I asked for a deep tissue massage and got a deep tissue massage...that's rare! Beautiful accommodation and delicious food. We will be back!
