Staying on a nearby caravan park we had checked out the menu on line and decided it looked good especially as my wife has several dietary intolerances. On arrival it was not clear where the tearoom entrance was as there are no proper signs but we found entrance through the garden centre greenhouse. The available menu seemed much reduced to that listed on website and the order for a sausage and red onion baguette was served with white onion without comment. Overall the food was ok but it was a disappointing experience.

A popular cafe within the garden centre, with a relatively small menu. Prices are reasonable though. Strangely they wouldn’t heat my cold sausage roll but did heat my wife’s cheese scone.

This café is always a delight. My wife and I often have lunch here, and when the weather's fine we particularly enjoy eating in the quiet courtyard. Every meal we've chosen here has been delicious and faultless, served by courteous and welcoming staff. Almost everything on the menu is homemade daily: wonderful soups, fruit and cheese scones, sausage rolls, and a fabulous array of cakes. Jacket potatoes, offered with a selection of fillings, are excellent. We return to Lily's Tearoom over and over again because we know from long experience that quality, reasonable prices, and friendly staff are its hallmarks.

Called in at 3:20 for tea and cake, closing time 3:50 on the board. Told, quite abruptly too late (no sorry), so despite being regulars we left feeling like never wanting to return. If this is how small businesses are run then they don’t deserve to continue. Following quote was taken from one of their replies here: “Yes you are correct at 3.30pm the kitchen has closed and we are only able to offer you a selection of cakes, sausage rolls or scones, all of which are subject to daily availability. Last orders are 3.50pm and we close at 4.00pm.”

I recently moved to the area and had to make a trip to the recycling centre. However, drove past this garden centre with a sign, Lily’s tea room. Well to say I was impressed is an understatement. My partner and I had a chilli (tuna for him) jacket potato and salad and a pot of tea for two. It was fresh, hot and delicious 😋. I will definitely being making a regular weekly visit to Lily’s. The garden centre too was amazing 🤩

My sister and I often pop in here for a cup of tea and a cake. Everything is lovely and it's always fresh and nice. The staff are always happy to see us and the tea is second to none (in my humble opinion.) I would say the only thing that lets it down is when it comes to paying. I don't like carrying around a lot of cash and since the pandemic, I have gotten used to using my card more and more. But it does worry me that they seem to have some problems getting the card machine to work. I thought this may be a problem with my card, but I saw it happen again with another customer, and this time they had to leave where we were to go into another room to get it all to work. It just worries me. Apart from this little hiccup, it's a lovely stop-off.

My friend and I popped here at about 3.30pm as we had missed lunch. The young girl behind the counter quite obviously didn’t like her job, and was very rude and sullen. We were told that the only savoury choices at that time were either a cheese scone or a sausage roll. and just what’s in front of us on the counter. They then refused to warm up a sausage roll, as they are kept in the fridge?! When trying to pay, my friend was told they don’t take Scottish money! ( we knew their card machine was out of order) it’s not so much what was said, it was the way things were said, so bluntly and abrupt. My friend who was visiting from Scotland was made to feel quite humiliated. I then asked for a refund and said we would be going elsewhere. When asked “why”we were leaving, I told her that it was because of the attitude. If she’d said sorry just once, it would have been more acceptable, and maybe a smile rather than looking so miserable. The other people behind the counter just ignored us, and no one apologised for anything. They all definitely need lessons in customer service! We won’t be returning.

Last visited here 3 years ago so first morning of our holiday a visit for scones was a must. We weren’t sure with Covid restrictions what it would be like but glad to say first class. It’s set in Hadfields garden centre and hand sanitiser as you go through first and clear arrows and 2meter guidelines so felt completely safe. The staff in tea rooms very welcoming, and the tables are separated by screens, shown to our table after taking tracing details. Limited menu but lovely selection of cakes and scones. You can tell they were freshly made and with a pot of tea and a latte went down very well. I expect we will be visiting again before our holiday ends.

This was our first time to Lily’s tearoom and we had soup and a cheese scone. I have to say the cheese scone was absolutely fabulous, so cheesy. The roasted vegetable soup was tasty too. I often pop here for a coffee and perhaps a scone, or cake after shopping on a Monday morning. It can get very noisy by 10.30, so if you want a quiet coffee, it is not in here. The scones are quite nice, especially when just out of the oven, but with plenty of butter. Staff happy to give extra butter. Their coffee is ok.Service friendly. There is outside seating, so on a nice day, it is pleasant to sip your coffee here.Am not justified in commenting on the meals as have not eaten them here, may do in the future.

I go here all the time and love it. Their sausage rolls and scones are the best and the staff are always helpful and pleasant but the last time I went with a few friends we had a bad experience. One lady is badly disabled and can only walk a few yards with the aid of her walker. To make it possible for her to get to the cafe three of us walked the correct way, through the garden centre and opened the door in the shop so she could get in without going the long way round. We knew there was a notice on the door asking you not to enter that way but we thought they wouldn't mind when they saw the state of our friend (which is bad). A member of their staff spoke to us as though we were naughty children told her very rudely that she'd better not do that again as they don't like people coming in that way. We were all shocked by her attitude. My husband is disabled and also a uses a walker - we have never met such rudeness and discrimination. It was shocking.

Went for lunch there with family today place looked lovely and the scones had been recommended altho really fancied the chicken Caesar salad. Altho the food was ok we waited nearly an hour for it and at the time was not busy. What really ruined the lunch for me was deciding that as the scones looked so good I thought I would take 2 away with me. At the counter I was told no they have to be eaten in the cafe and I asked what the difference was why I can't I take them away she said sorry u can't. Absolutely ridiculous service .money is money and was refused a purchase. So the best hour wait for the ok food and then told i can't buy scones unless I eat them in the cafe I can honestly say wontbbe returning

This used to be my favourite place for coffee, lunch or tea but since it is now counter service I have changed my mind. When they are busy customers have to find a seat and place an item on the table to save it and then get up again and go to the counter to order. Many of the customers are elderly people who like to sit down and be served and not have to get up again to order their food and drink. My visits to Lily's are not so many in number as they used to be!

You can browse around the garden centre and then go into lily's Tea Room. They have an inside and outside seating area. They do tea, coffee, light meals and the obvious things like scones/cakes etc etc. The only negative is they don't cope too well when very busy. Saw several couples walk out after they hadn't been spotted by the waitress/waiter. Nobody noticed them enter and nobody noticed them leave. This is shoddy and poor. You also expect to wait a long time if you order something. The good thing is they can cope perfectly well if not crowded out.......so a hot weekend at lunchtime is probably best avoided. Otherwise choose what time you go and when and you won't be disappointed. They do a lovely Caesar r salad. The tearoom atmosphere is nice inside and outside.

I was out on my cycle recently and decided to visit Lily's Tea Room. I was pleasantly surprised to find I could push my cycle through the entrance (automatic doors) and around to the Tea Room where there is a wonderful outside seating area, which turned out to be a very nice sun trap. With my cycle right where I could see it I sat down and waited for the waitress. Within minutes a smiling and very polite waitress appeared and took my order for a cheese scone with strawberry jam and a latte (extra hot). My cheese scone with jam and my latte with complimentary biscuit were all excellent. The waitress popped outside again to make sure everything was okay. Once I was ready to go I went into the Tea Room to pay. I have visited many a Tea Room on my cycle travels and Lily's is now right up there as one of the cleanest and friendliest places I have visited. I can highly recommend it and for those of you who want to drop in with your cycle it's ideal. But there is probably not room for multiple cycles.I left by pushing my cycle through the shop. The next layer had fruit scones and chocolate cake, (butter, jam and clotted cream came separate! Top layer, meringues filled with cream and raspberry's and lemon posset! We were served sparkling drink, perhaps it was elderflower, and of course a nice big pot of tea!The sandwiches were soft, fresh and well filled and full of flavour, the cakes all fresh too! All for £10.95 per person! The staff were friendly and although it's a garden centre cafe the food was lovely! We have been visiting Lily's for coffee and scones for some while now. Unfortunately on two occasions, we have been refused permission to buy scones to take away!! Now being a fairly regular customer, we found that really strange. So indeed today I asked the question, WHY??To be told that "if you buy the scones we will not have any left for later" To which I replied, what if I stayed here to eat them then? They would still not have any left! But apparently they would lose money, because it costs less to take them away than to stay in and eat the scones. Since the day they opened, we go at least once or twice a month and to actually be refused permission to buy scones to take away has left me speechless!!!! Also, Hadfields are getting a bit fed up with Lily's customers going in their garden center and complaining!! So whatever you do, don't ask to buy scones to take home!!!!

We attended this establishment, as local people, lunchtime wed. 16 March. We ordered. Soup of the day with cheese scone and water, and fruit scone, with tea. The establishment was reasonably busy, but not full, and people came in after we arrived. Some by ten minutes. The fruit scone and tea arrived. It was duly consumed by my wife - who after some fifteen minutes enquired as to the soup etc, to be told it was 'on its way'! It wasn't! In the meantime, people who had entered ten minutes after ourselves, and had ordered (sandwiches etc) were served with their food. Some twenty minutes after we arrived, and my wife having consumed her snack, with no sign of the soup etc, we decided to leave - as we did so the soup emanated from the kitchen! We informed the (waitress) that we had waited long enough, we had seen her serve another table to persons who had arrived AFTER us, which we, in fact, thought wasn't good enough, and in fact we liked to eat together! Now I was always under the impression that 'soup of the day' would be readily available. The scones were on display, so we knew they were! How wrong we were! And throughout, no apology, no waiter attended the table to say there was a delay, nothing, no reason given at all. Really disappointing when the establishment was recommended. Would I recommend to you, definitely not, in fact I would cook your soup at home, it's much quicker than this place!

On the plus side I've been there maybe 25 times and never had a bad meal! We usually go for lunch but sometimes just coffee and cake, whatever you go for I'm positive you'll enjoy the food. I highly recommend any of the home made soups, they're always piping hot and very tasty! Great coffee as well. lastly but not least is the service, always polite and efficient.I should also mention that Lily's is in a garden nursery and a good one as well, great plants and cheap prices, I get all my tomato and chilli plants from them plus some lovely bedding plants.

Went as a group for coffee and stayed on for lunch. The service was good, lunch was enjoyable and reasonably priced. You are recommended to book for afternoon tea. I would imagine that during the summer it gets very busy. Car parking is o.k. but in the winter the grass area is soft..

Have been a few times now and very satisfied each time. Clean, pleasant indoor and outdoor terrace eating. Very nice lunch menu but the cakes are to die for fresh home made and delicious !!

What a great afternoon tea we had. I would recommend it, at £10.95 it's incredible value. You have to book ahead, and the teas start at 14.30 so that the table can be laid up ready with a white cloth tablecloth with such pretty china crockery. They serve elderflower cordial as a champagne alternative which is a lovely touch. The selection of eats is very good, as it was near Christmas they'd included Christmas cake and a mince pie each, all very yummy. All in all a great experience. We have been many times for other eats and I'd recommend it, together with the excellent little privately owned garden centre. You will not be disappointed with the standard of food at Lilys

A very nice place for a spot of lunch and very welcoming environment. As such it can get quite busy. This is why I come here regularly with my guide dog

We stayed in Knapton and stopped off at Lily's for some tea and cake. All the family had some cake and there was plenty of choice to cater for us all. The menu looked good and the food being served looked delicious. Next time we are near we will be sure to stop by. We might even look around the garden centre next time!

Arranged Afternoon Tea for 6 as a Baby Shower for my sister. Table was laid up beautifully. When the food was bought over to the table is looked amazing! But when it was enjoyed by all it was even better. My sister evenhad her own section of sandwiches as she couldn't eat some of the standard selection. There was then sausage rolls, scones with clotted cream and jam, chocolate cake, meringues... I mean we couldn't have asked for more. A glass of fizz and unlimited tea or coffee. Absolutely fab afternoon, friendly staff and served with a smile, Thankyou

My friend and I met here for lunch. We ate toasted sandwiches which were excellent, freshly sliced bread with lots of filling and plenty of side salad. There was plenty of choice on the lunch menu. The tearoom is bright and airy with plenty of seating, including outdoor seating. There was a lovely selection of cakes available but we were too full to try any. i shall return for afternoon tea. The only thing that stopped me from giving this 'excellent' was the staff who didn't seem very friendly, they seemed rather abrupt but perhaps we just went on a bad day.

Lily's has always been a favourite of ours (My wife and myself). The coffee is excellent and the staff serve you with a smile. Last Saturday we were having a light lunch and the cafe was packed. We had to wait a little while, but that's what you expect when all the food is freshly prepared for you and delicious. We would rather wait (only 15 minutes), than have something that is has been in the fridge for days. After Coffee you can select your plants from a wonderful selectionTo sum up. - Plenty of Parking, Lovely Cafe, Fantastic Plants, Great Staff. A credit to North Walsham

We stopped here for lunch and had to wait 30 minutes before someone even came and took our order. An hour after arriving at the tearoom our food arrived! The food was good, basic café food. We decided to order coffee and cake for dessert and went to the counter to order as it had taken so long for the waiter to take our lunch order. We placed our cake order and after another 30 minutes wait went and asked how much longer only to be told by the waitress that had taken our order that she had forgotten! All told we were there for over 2 1/2 hours so if you are hungry or in a hurry definitely avoid. Such a shame as with better management it could be fabulous.

We come here most weekends for a scone or sandwich and have never been disapointed. The menu isn't huge but the choices are what youd expect and the home made cakes are second only to the scones.

Never thought of going to a garden centre for anything but garden stuff until my friend took me here for coffee. I'm so glad she did. The scones are enormous and really good. I'm not a big lover of sausage rolls but the ones here are delish. I have been back several times and will be definitely be going back again.

We love Lily's Tearoom and have been many times in the last year or so, usually for a baguette/sandwich and coffee, or a cream tea. The service is always excellent - very friendly and accommodating staff, even when busy and one has to wait a little longer than usual; the food is tasty and well presented, and the portion sizes are just enough to sate ones appetite; we always find it very good value for money, too. Today, we went for afternoon tea for a special occasion. We'd never had the reservation-only tea before and weren't disappointed with what we received: We sat at a reserved table laid with lovely china and were presented with sparkling elderflower cordial on arrival. This was followed by tea & coffee, three-tiered servings of sandwiches & sausage rolls, cakes and lemon syllabub, with an additional plate of raspberry cream meringues. We also had our tea and coffee topped-up by the attentive staff. Almost everything was home-made as usual, and it filled us up nicely, Certainly no need for an evening meal now!At £9.95 per person, this was exceptionally good value and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

We visited here several times, including twice on the same day! Scones are excellent (best I've had for several years!) as were the soup, the scrambled eggs, and sandwiches. Many home-made cakes - all looked great. Service not perfect but very friendly.Beware that the garden centre and the tea room are quite difficult to find. On the old Yarmouth Road coming out of N Walsham, but the Garen Centre is not well publicised outside as you approach and there seemed little publicity for the tea room, even when you park, and even when you enter the centre itself! But well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Four of us visited for a light lunch..nicely decorated environment..Found the choice limited..the specials board the same as it was on my previous visit over 3 months ago. Service a little slow..sat at the table for at least ten minutes before it was cleared of dirty plates. The lady who served us was friendly and accommodating. The food presentation was average and the portion size we all felt very small the price..for eg about £7 for a prawn jacket with not much filling..about 10 small prawns. We only had one light lunch course and a soft drink each and our bill came to near enough £40..which is alot for a quick lunch hour meet up with colleagues ...we plan to find somewhere that is better value for money...

I had lunch with my elderly parents today. My father enjoyed his sausage but my fish pie filling wasn’t nice and some of the fish didn’t taste fresh, the mash topping was nice but the filling was a poor attempt at what can be a lovely tasty dish. My mum had the beer battered fish and chips. The beer batter was overpowering to the fish and tasted like the oil was old. I tried some of my mums and agreed with her. It’s two years since I have eaten here and it was a disappointment.

If you want to eat awful and not healthy than best you camp in. Food is cold, staff are rude and faces like they don't wanna be there. Short woman was very rude and you could hear them shouting out the back. Some man who appeared to be friends with them messing around outside. This isn't what i like to see when eating out. HUGE let down girls. They need to be more polite and have a better manner and not shout so much!!!

Stayed overnight, dinner was good, breakfast was atrocious! Over cooked bacon, sausages, hash browns and eggs, whether, poached or fried were hard and burnt. The toast was beyond crispy, frightened to eat the crusts in case we broke our teeth. The room was nice, Myrtle, needs a long mirror on the blank wall near the plug points. Staff friendly and accommodating at dinner.
