I’ve been looking for a local, top quality, full English breakfast for a while. Having tried three around Meltham, in my opinion this is the best. A combination of quality & value for money in a cafe setting. Yes, it has the feel of a “transport cafe” but there’s nothing wrong with that. If you’re looking for “genteel” this isn’t for you. However, if you’re looking for really good food with ordinary folk in a warm and welcoming place, then this is for you.

Enjoyable breakfast. Very reasonably priced. Seems a popular place for takeout. Although small a lot of menu choice. Felt clean and safe.

This is a great little sandwich shop which has been in the village years but I’ve never been because primarily it serves the businesses around it. Really good ham and cheese sandwiches plus home made ginger bread. I’m no lover of spam - but it’s here in abundance. And lovely service

Yum yum yum!! Delicious fish and chips... the best in the area and surrounding area. Cooked to order but worth the wait. Weight Watchers catered for as griddled fish means no points.

Sausages are very poor had a sausage sandwich 2 measly sausages cut in half, do yourself a favour pay 20p more and get one from butchers in Meltham crammed with proper sausages

Went in one time about 30 minutes to closing and they had nothing left in regards to breakfast full English type things. Just beef sandwiches. Went in a second time to be served by a rude and arrogant young lady. Never again.

I've been here a few times, you always get a lovely welcome and the food is always really really good! If you want breakfast to take away (or you can eat in) this is the place in meltham to go.

We visited Liesl's this morning and were pleasantly surprised. If you were looking for a good greasy-spoon type cafe, then look no further. Very friendly staff, extremely wide menu, quick service and the portions are enormous. We also noticed plenty of guys working on local sites popping in for their breakfast orders who didn't have to wait long at all. Clearly very popular, shame we're only the third review! Perfect for a quick and cheap breakfast, that certainly doesn't taste cheap. If we're over in Meltham again, we'll probably swing by.

I had a small full English breakfast which was only £3.50 with a brew. It was excellent value for money. The place is quite smart. Only down side I can think of is it's a little tight for space when a few people in there. The staff were really friendly 10/10 for me.

" Gastropub " it says on their website....NEVER ! We went for Sunday lunch after reading how popular this place was on our local FB page. Not the nicest of dining areas , certainly not like their photos. Tiled floor , mis-matched furniture, more like a transport cafe for lorry drivers. The whole place is very rundown and drab , peeling wallpaper, damp patches etc. No starters available . Meat was tender and plates piled high but frozen soggy sprouts, cabbage with loads of stalk and nothing seasoned at all . Very bland .Not a good experience. We like to support local businesses but sadly won't return here. The staff were lovely but it needs a lot of money and a total revamp in order to survive . I hope it does!

We had a lovely evening here. Upon arrival the pub was clean and welcoming. Myself, my mother and my daughter came and the staff were so lovely and assertive. The food was really nice, we came in here as we were visiting the area and we would definitely come again.

The food has changed from traditional food your gammon and chips, fish and chips etc to trying to compare with bao buns at the Riverhead, sorry no contest. The pub smells of wet dogs particularly around the fire and the sofas and been bitten there. Not in a rush to go back .

We were seated quickly in a pleasant room. After a shortish wait we ordered 2 sandwiches, a portion of chips and 2 coffees. After a long wait the coffee arrived but was only lukewarm, I asked for another one that was hotter but the waitress seemed confused, eventually we got replacements which were slightly warmer but I didn't want to risk complaining twice ... The food was delicious but the chips were plonked down with no offer of vinegar or sauces, not even salt. After rugby tackling a passing waitress we asked for vinegar which was deposited on the table but with no comment or question about whether there was anything else we wanted. At no point did anyone ever come back to the table to ask if everything was alright or did we want anything else, which considering it is table service and not cheap, I would expect. We are still here wondering how on earth we pay as we have been finished for at least 15 minutes and are still being studiously ignored. Maybe if we get up to leave they might notice us. To summarise food lovely if expensive service atrocious.
