You certainly have won't be hurried out of here... Service extremely slow and lackadaisical, and definitely not worth the 12.5% service charge. Meals arrived with big gaps so that half our group had virtually finished by the time others were starting. Food mixed - some plates were delicious, others nondescript and certainly not worth £26-£28. Maybe visible management might help. The staff seemed keener on chatting to each other than serving us, and even taking payment for our (overpriced!) meal took further 15 minutes after they'd brought us the bill. It was a great shame because the restaurant has a fab, quirky setting and has lots of potential. ☹️

This was a present off our daughter for my husband. We had previously seen this on tv. We had a lovely two hours there. If you walked down the street you would never know it was ther. What a lovely experience. We are so glad that we went. This definitely is a must to do.

Booked a table for two for our anniversary. The Lido is a special place, and we were so glad that we were able to experience it. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food was good but not sure that it warrants a Michelin star. Go there just to be somewhere truly unique. It was a special evening.

We went for the swim and dinner papckage (it was gifted to us as a wedding present) and I have to say I was disappointed. The swimming pool is absolutely freezing so the hot tub and sauna were consistently overcrowded - not enjoyable. There was also a lack of seating around the poolside (without going through to the bar / restaurant) which I found odd. £5 for robe hire also seemed steep. The dinner was questionable, I had the crab orzo as a starter which was nice but some of the lamb in the main course was still raw, so I left it. I told the waitress when she came to take away the plates, and she told me 'that's how we cook it here' and that 'I should've asked for it to be cooked longer' but at no point during the meal did anyone ask us if our food was OK. I noticed several times that the staff were having conversations amongst themselves and some were on their phones, clearly not interested. We also had to ask for more drinks, their 12.5% service charge is absolutely not deserved.

Poor service on our visit last week for a graduation lunch. Left us standing at the door for 10 mins, waiting staff were impersonal and slowww. Food was generally good but again several dishes on the menu weren’t available. Not what a Michelin starred restaurant should be delivering.

It's a nice swimming pool with not too much chlorine in it... was able to enjoy without goggles, look underwater... , a great Finnish sauna, a nice jacuzzi, and a Turkish sauna. A beautiful, clean environment. And a nice little place to sit down on the side and have some tasty fresh food. I had a lovely time here with my partner, and she absolutely loves it.

Lovely place for a swim outdoors, use of jacuzzi, steam room and sauna is all included. Clean, and well thought out. Food is only tapas/antipasti style, so small portions for high prices but lovely all the same. I very much recommend having a drink on the tables by the pool.

Me and my girlfriend visited the Lido during our lunch break to try the tapas proposed on the bar menu. The place is very charming, relaxing and cosy for a casual outing on a summery day in Bristol. The food was absolutely delicious! All of it! We tried every tapas and were not disappointed. One negative point on the service which was not particularly swift, but it seems, alas, to be a recurring problem with british hospitality establishments.

Rather an odd service from the Lido. Our table was upstairs for lunch and we just ordered a main course, thinking that we would only have time for 2 courses and opting to have dessert instead of starter. Half a hour passed and no food. We were told that it would not be long. 15 minutes later, we still had no food. At this point the waiter said that because we had not ordered starters we had been put at the back of the queue behind those tables that did order starters. This did indeed seem true as other tables around us had received starters and mains by this time. Eventually the food arrived and it was good …. But by that time we could not stay for dessert. So, no complaints about the food but way too long to get served and it seems an odd way to run a restaurant. If you order a main only, why have to wait for the amount of time that it might have taken if you’d had a starter? Oh, and in general the waiting staff whilst not actually rude, appeared not to care very much whether people were happy or not.

First time coming here for a swim and massage package as it was a gift from my friends. The restaurant was right next to the pool which I felt a bit weird as people are just watching you swim whilst they're enjoying their food. However the pool was nice and clean, it did get busy on and off so you have to keep an eye out on when to have a swim as it can get quite busy. The hot tub was quite spacious and large, along with the sauna. The steam room probably fits about 6 people, seemed a bit small compared to the sauna. The massage was the cherry on top for sure! My masseuse was very welcoming and explained everything. It was so comfortable I think I almost drifted off to sleep twice! After the massage there was a chill out room to relax and unwind where you can have some green tea/ water which I thought was a very nice touch. Would definitely recommend as a package as just the swim/ spa section didn't seem worth the price.

We visited for a 2 hour guest swim, rather than for the restaurant. At £25 for the 2 hours, this is not your typical lido, more like a spa or exclusive health club. Wonderful service in the reception upon arrival, with a mini tour of the facilities, which includes steam room, sauna and jacuzzi in the entry price. The pool is 24m and very gently heated (around 21° when we visited). Free lockers available in the reception and you can take your own towels (towel hire is available). The individual changing cubicles (poolside traditional or indoor) are fab and come with your own individual shower + blissful body wash and shampoo. Getting into the raised level pool is quite slippy and I recommend taking sliders for walking around. Boudoir post-swim facilities for make-up & hair are a bonus, as is the view of the pool from the first floor balcony. Went for a post- swim cocktail at the bar which was lush. We'll be back - what a super, unique experience 💕

I don’t often write reviews but wanted to shout out the amazing restaurant staff for being so accommodating yesterday. My friend and I went for the swim and lunch package, and the pool and spa facilities were gorgeous as always. I booked online and added a note about my friend’s food intolerances, and the team handled this brilliantly - marking up the menu beforehand with dishes that were gluten and dairy free (or could be adapted to suit her). Our waitress (reddish hair, lovely flicked eyeliner) was so friendly and attentive, and when I had an issue with my starter she was really kind about it and brought out a replacement. I don’t like sending food back and find it a bit anxiety-inducing so only do it if I really have to, but she was very understanding and put me at ease. I should add that I’ve eaten here loads of times and the food is always incredible, so don’t let this put you off. Restaurant chefs are cooking so many dishes on a daily basis, so even the best ones aren’t going to be perfect 100% of the time! The rest of the meal was delicious - my hake was perfectly cooked and I’m glad I kept some bread to mop up the chilli butter at the end. I also highly recommend the vinho verde, which is so refreshing and goes beautifully with fish. Thank you for looking after us, it was a lovely day out :)

What an amazing three days at the Bristol Lido. We stayed at the Lido Townhouse. A townhouse with luxurious contemporary ensuite room with wonderful fluffy robes and towels. We felt very spoilt as the fantastic lido team looked after us as if we were royalty. Georgia, Alison, Ruby and Tashi to name a few, thank you so much. We swam before breakfast in a heated outdoor pool and hot tub before having coffee in our robes. After changing we had breakfast by the pool. It was such a superb breakfast menu. We walked to Clifton suspension bridge as it was close by. The evening Tapas dinner menu was very exciting and tasty on the first night but we went into the main restaurant upstairs for our anniversary the second next night and that expansive menu made it hard to choose from but we did ... It is hard to park in the area but the lido staff provided us with parking permits and that made it easier. We cannot wait to return. Thank you to everyone who works there and looked after us so well.

Dinner tonight to celebrate some good news and always used to be able to rely on restaurant both for its setting and lovely food. So disappointed tonight. Tasteless starters - the scallops are a stalwart of the menu but blackened and burnt butter sauce. My slow cooked lamb was tough and took a lot of sawing to get it off the bone. It arrived cold, dried up, with 3 half new potatoes, a few peas and a dribble of sauce. Just not up to restaurant standard. Waiters weren’t to be seen so had to go up to find them to get salt and pepper. What has gone wrong in the kitchen?

The view sat around the poolside is gorgeous, with the inviting outdoor pool, lovely seating areas & pretty outdoor changing rooms; you can not help but love this place! However, the service did not match the price tag of the poolside menu, (small plates) & during our lunch we had 4 different servers. It was a hot day, the restaurant was packed & the staff seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables booked; but this does not excuse being courteous, friendly & attentive, which we did not receive. The food is good, varied & fairly seasonal. The flavors are balanced & seasoned well. Stand out dishes - Roasted Beetroot, Hummus & Albondigas, which were divine! The wine list is good, however as in all restaurants, overpriced! I feel service let down the lunch we had, & priced at just shy of £120 for lunch, the Lido really need to improve to gain better reviews.

The member of staff looking after us was great. We ordered two sea bream on the bone but there was a lot of bones and skin and not much flesh - 2oz is probably me being generous once you sorted out all the inedible bits. There was clam shell mixed in with sauce which I cracked my tooth on- ouch. The sauce was quite gelatinous and on the cool side which made it rather unpalatable . The potato side dish was hot and delicious - we should have just ordered more of that. My requested extra Strong coffee at the end of lunch tasted burnt and may have been reheated! I drink a lot of good coffee and this was seriously thumbs down. Couldn’t bring myself to tell the lovely waiter however… When I go out and eat- I want to eat better than I could create at home- I could definitely show the kitchen how to improve basic principles - i.e. order some decent fish to start with.

During the time at the SPA, you could use showers that had shower gel and shampoo. There was some small room to get change and a room to dry afterward to dry your hair - a hair dryer and straightener were available. After swimming, we went for dinner, and we ordered asparagus and scallops to start with, which were excellent. For the main course, we ordered beans with rabbit and monkfish with seafood. However, the main dishes lacked seasoning or flavoring. Almost there was no flavor, which was very disappointing for the prices on the menu ( although we didn’t pay for it as part of the package). My wife is recovering from a serious stroke in 2022 and we're getting back into life slowly but surely. As dedicated foodies, one of our goals has been to revisit the restaurants we enjoyed prior to the stroke. This has been mostly successful, but we were sorely disappointed on Saturday night when we dined at the Lido. The visit started well, staff were friendly and attentive and reserved the table we had always requested overlooking the pool. Starters were good (my wife chose scallops and I had a kofta.) Unfortunately, we had also ordered mains: venison for my wife and suckling pig for me. Presentation was appalling--dog's dinner comes to mind. Both meals were dumped on the plates drenched in gravy for her and a slightly fruity sauce for me. Venison is lovely when sliced and layered on the plate but hers consisted of lumps of meat amidst some Ana potatoes and spinach. Mine was in similar disarray except the sauce was yellowish rather than brown. I cut my wife's meat for her and, in contrast to recent buttery tender venison meals her lumps required serious sawing and she found it equally difficult to chew. My suckling pig was just as chewy, rather than the falling off the bone tenderness I was expecting, and significantly overcooked throughout. I mentioned this to the friendly young waiter, who was apologetic and polite, but declined his offer of a complimentary coffee. Desserts (rhubarb mess and cheese plate) were just OK. All in all a disappointing evening and we won't be rushing back any time soon.

Lovely setting, with a calm atmosphere watching the swimmers as you eat. Good food and service

Setting and staff are good but the food was disappointing, husband felt ill after eating the fish and my vegetarian meal was terrible, the vegetables were luke warm and smoothed in sauces with 2 pieces of rock hard falafel

Came here with a good friend to celebrate a birthday. Had the pleasure of sitting in the bar at first - really nice bar area overlooking the Lido, drinks were well priced and the environment felt calm and relaxing. Service in the bar was attentive until our table for dinner was ready. We were seated a little later than our booked time for dinner, however the nice ambience continued. Starters were fantastic, well cooked, well seasoned and presented nicely. Mains were underseasoned but again presented well. Service was attentive considering it was busy. Overall a great visit, just could have done with the mains having a little more flavour. Would like to give it another chance as I do believe it could be a 5/5 next time.

Every time my friend and I have eaten in Bristol our meal has been bad or very bad. So this time I chose the Lido, and I was not wrong. Very fine food, service and ambience. Perfection

I never normally write reviews but was looking forward to this for ages and felt we got a poor deal for the £100 for two of us for the swim and dine package. Staff were incredible, and menu seemed well rounded but unfortunately the food just didn’t taste great. burnt meat, bitter veg, undercooked beans, sloppy sauce. Really recommend revisiting some of the dishes. Sent back charcoaled lamb and got sent another piece that was bitter and really tough to eat. Pool was too cold to swim in - which could of been our fault for not checking if heated but presumed for the £50 swim and dine it would be able to muster barely a length and sauna and hot tub were so packed we could barely access so the two hours before we spent most of the time hanging around. The place is beautiful, the staff lovely,

I've been to the Lido twice for food. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Breakfast: Went for breakfast following a massage on a Saturday morning. I ordered the bacon, egg, and Greek baked beans dish. It was honestly awful. There was one pathetic rash of bacon which was burnt to a crisp. The two tiny black puddings were like charcoal. The sunny side up was also burnt. Despite everything being burnt, the food was served cold. I tried to eat it and then had to order toast and jam in order to take away the bad taste in my mouth. The staff were not attentive. Usually, one of the servers will come by the table to ask if the food is OK and to see if I need anything else and no one came to ask how I was. Dinner: Went to the Lido for a friend's birthday 36th birthday. There were about 15 of us there. Most of us were disappointed with the food. It took for ever to come and it was poorly prepared. Considering they only have 4 mains on their menu, they should be able to get them dry. The fish stew was just a bit too fishy and not at all flavourful or seasoned. The chicken was dry. The only person who was happy was the person who ordered the vegan pumpkin dish. Overall -- the Lido is a massive disappointment and I won't be going there again.

I’m a member here, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you are made to feel particularly welcome when you dine. Businesslike greeting/seating experience today when we arrived (for my birthday meal out), and at the end when I was a little late to mention my membership at point of payment so we could benefit from the 10% off the bill, the irritation and embarrassingly loud admonishment from the waitress directed at me was unacceptable. I love the pool and the food and some of the staff are great. The rudeness I experienced today was a huge disappointment and ruined the end of the meal for me.

The tapas were nothing special. We ordered sourdough bread which was so cold, it almost tasted as if it was taken out of the freezer and not quite defrosted. It would have been great to have warm sourdough bread with the food. There weren't enough warm tapas to choose from on a cold winter's day and whilst the food was tasty, there were too many dips on the menu and we were surprised to find the charcoaled aubergines arriving as a dip as well. The pork cheeks were really good and the blood sausage as well. It would help to give more of a description on the menu of how the food is served. ie warm or cold or as dips etc. The ambience is great, but this time didn't make up for the tapas food experience which was a bit disappointing and overpriced for what you get. They also put 12.5% service charges on the bill which is quite a lot.

Disappointing. This is my second visit to the restaurant and unfortunately the staff do not seem to put customer service at the top of their priorities. It’s a shame. The food is lovely but the atmosphere and attitude from the staff puts me off inviting my friends.

I read a review that said it left a feeling of polite disappointment and to be honest I think this is the perfect summation of my experience here. Everything feels crowded and a bit lack lustre. It certainly doesn't match up to it's sister venue in Reading at all - which considering the prices are the same is a shame. I would definitely take the extra drive to go there instead.

We booked for a birthday treat - lunch and dine package. Was very busy had to wait for a changing area that become available - waited over 20 mins. Hot tub was over crowded and pool was very busy. Scallops to start were amazing however the main pork came out cold. Returned to the kitchen and came out luke warm with cold potatoes again. The waitress was really helpful hence 2 stars. Offered dessert on the house but we were super restricted to time with car parking so couldn’t. Drinks were refunded. We drove up from Devon and came away really disappointed. The setting is beautiful and the food could’ve been exceptional, such a shame.

Service was awesome, staff was friendly and recommended us some really good food and wine. The seafood were really fresh so it would be nice if the sauce was separated, that way you can savour the freshness of the fish. My cabbage was ‘chargrilled’ but it was kinda burnt actually. Everything else was delicious especially the honeycomb and rum raisin ice cream. They were so good!

Far too many people for the size of the place. We couldn't use the sauna as it was full for the entirety of our 2 hour session. The steam room and hot tub only seat 6 or so people and again was incredibly busy. The pool was much cooler than expected and difficult to swim due to busyness. Some seated areas to relax would be nice while waiting for facilities if busy. We even had to wait to shower and loo after our time at the lido!! The cafe was lovely though with friendly staff and great coffee.

Went with my husband for a 2 hour swim and dine after experience. Absolutely stunning! Be prepared for the outdoor pool as it is definitely kept at a chillier temperature than I anticipated (I felt fine but my husband couldn’t handle it even for one lap) so we alternated the steam room, sauna, and hot tub for the duration which is utterly delightful! There was also an ice bucket which I found great fun! Then the meal was absolutely delicious! My husband says he felt like a “class traitor” for it 😂 it was just all around a stunning experience and we’ll be coming back (when it’s warm again so husband can try the swim again).
