Went for the late swim and dine, felt like we were and inconvenience being there late l, they ran out of the starter I wanted and my main was cold. My friend had octopus to start with barely any octopus, I had a lamb kebab with tzatziki which was underwhelming. My friend lived her seafood stew and I had pork and mash for £28 which was cold and I had to send back. The waiter comped us the desert, coffee and bread which was kind but ultimately would have preferred an enjoyable evening for the price we paid

I purchased the Swim & Dine option for myself as birthday treat. I chose the 10am swim with lunch at midday. I was shown around on arrival, facilities clean and especially enjoyed dipping between the sauna, pool and cold bucket. At 12 I made my way upstairs for lunch, the waiter had placed me at a lovely table with pool view. I opted for a main (guinea fowl) & dessert (chocolate tort), with padron peppers as a starter. The food came out with suitable time in between, with no rush but no long wait either. Presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The waiter, Gabrial was fantastic, attentive and he seemed genuinely interested if I was happy with the food. A great ambassador for the Lido. (Thank you!) I really enjoyed my relaxing morning at the Lido, and think I will make it a regular annual treat.

We have eaten here many times but usually lunchtime. We booked an early evening table at 18.15. The restaurant was quiet but the pool was heaving. The staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed our meal (3 courses) a couple shred. The fisherman’s stew was delicious and my wife liked her pumpkin dish. Always have the raisin with Pedro Ziminez-yum. Service attentive and excellent and courses arrived piping hot without a wait. Bill took a while to come but the 12.5% service charge is warranted. Restaurant remained quiet throughout our visit (not surprising vis a vis the booking time). A friendly goodbye as we left.

We have visited this restaurant, with a very unusual and attractive setting, many times. We had a table in the window with a good view of the lido. We wanted a light lunch so chose three starters and a side dish of potatoes. All the dishes were excellent, as was the service, we enjoyed our lunchtime visit.

My daughter purchased a £100 voucher for a swim & dine birthday gift. We discovered that you have to book quite a few weeks in advance! I was very excited about going along with my son this evening. The girl on reception was very welcoming & helpful, giving a clear explanation about the facilities. - Unfortunately the Steam Room was closed due to maintenance The jacuzzi/hot tub was very busy with members’ but we were able to use the sauna. I found the pool very cold. Overall we both enjoyed our experience. We were early for our dining booking. The restaurant was very quiet with only two other diners’ Our order was taken. After nearly twenty minutes the waitress returned to our table to ask my son to confirm again his drink order!! We then waited fifty five minutes for our starters. - By this time my appetite had diminished. I hardly touched my main course! We decided to have our coffees at home & were ready to ask for our bill. - There was nobody on the restaurant floor. Hence, I went downstairs to the bar were the staff were standing together in jocular conversation On returning home I looked at the bill - it appears to me that we did not use all of our voucher dining allowance. - Nevertheless I was charged a service charge on my credit card. The evening was such a disappointment & I certainly would NOT recommend purchasing this experience as a gift.

In July, we booked a September couple's massage, swim and use of sauna/steam room/hot tub package. We were reticent after poor back-to-back experiences in the preceding year (once, our entire package was cancelled as they decided to renovate after we booked, and the second time it was cancelled with 24 hours notice due to illness). The latter bad experience was compounded by how hard it was to get our money back. Even though it was cancelled due to their staff shortage, at that time we received an email saying that the Lido were "sorry we had cancelled". The promised refund didn't arrive within the promised 5 working days, and I ended up spending two weeks chasing by phone for a refund, eventually receiving it when I called to say I was escalating it to my credit card company. Nevertheless, we thought we'd have one last attempt with a September booking. 24 hours before our booking, an email drifted in saying some of the facilities would be closed for repair which in itself was poor and continued the pattern, but we figured we'd go ahead with whatever remaining parts would be open and the massages. On the morning, we turned up and were given robes and towels and told to make use of the facilities, making sure we were in the treatment room by 09:35 for our 09:45 massages. On time, we were sat in a very chilly waiting room in our robes ready for our treatments when someone from reception turned up to say that they could not go ahead with our treatments because a staff member had called in sick. Bear in mind that at this point it's 09:40, just 5 mins before our treatment time, and the third aborted attempt at using the facilities. Having gotten nice and cold in the waiting room, we duly got changed and headed back to reception. On asking for a refund, I was again sent an email instantly expressing the Lido were sorry I had changed my plans, which is factually incorrect. Meanwhile, while one person at reception is looking at processing my cancellation, I get to hear the other receptionist talking to a masseuse who was clearly doing the other half of the couple's massage saying that I had cancelled the treatment. Again, factually incorrect and ignoring the fact they cancelled a couple's treatment with under 5 mins notice by the Lido. I explained that this wasn't the first time our visit had been cancelled, albeit this was a new low to wait until we're in robes in a freezing waiting room before telling us, and the email I had just received saying they were "sorry you have changed your plans" was factually incorrect when combined with their 24 hour cancellation policy to get a refund. I explained that last time this happened I spent weeks calling trying to get the promised refund to no avail until our credit card company was involved, and I wasn't comfortable leaving without the refund in writing given the erroneous email saying I had cancelled the booking with under 24 hours notice. This resulted in a short two sentence email being sent to say I would receive an email in 2 - 5 days. Who knows if this time I will? History would suggest I'll be back chasing them again through October trying to get it! I get that illnesses and issues crop up, but it seems absurd now that three times in a row our visit has been cancelled. Either we're playing with extremely long unlucky odds at such repeated poor service, or we're a representative sample of how many appointments are wasted and don't go ahead. Today's was particularly insulting, having let us waste our time and effort heading in, getting cold and sitting in the waiting room to then cancel. Maybe the management team will just chalk us up to be statistically anomalies and claim each cancellation was an independently unfortunate event, but I'd caution other potential customers that we've had three such poor experiences and it seems beyond unlikely that we're the only patrons that do. In the meantime, I'll hold my trust that - this time at least - the refund will come through, and if not I'll again be having to use my credit card company to ensure a refund.

Mixed feelings but overall as a vegan on the dinner and swim £50 package I felt very short changed. First off the lido pool is nice enough but was pretty cool the day we visited. Nobody stayed in it long. The other small spa facilities were rather busy, especially the jaquzzi. There was a queue at one point! For what's supposed to be an exclusive experience we felt we had to move on more quickly than we wanted to from all the 'spa' facilities. We were very squished in the tiny steam room! I had also not realised there is nowhere to relax or read, so you end up getting changed as there's nowhere to sit inside or out bar 2 benches everyone uses to put their towels when not in the pool/steam/sauna. In terms of the £50 dinner package the 2-course menu for vegans is very limited with no protein and amounts to a maximum of £25 of food based on menu prices. The only dessert option is a scoop of sorbet (at £6 if you opt to add it to have a 3-course). Our starter consisted of 4 small stalks of broccoli on some tahini and 3/4 chickpeas. Other non-vegan starters served looked far more substantial. I had the vegan mezze for main which was okay but nothing special and didn't feel very coordinated with lots of random items included and I don't think the humous was homemade. We took a look at the meat version of the menu - main courses cost £26-29 plus another course costing between £9-14 was included in the same package.... Until the vegan/veggie menu improves, those not eating meat will feel very short changed! Such a shame in a progressive city like Bristol. With a couple of soft drinks and some olives our bill came to £125 plus tip. The week before I had been to Hatherley Spa in Cheltenham which in my view had far better food and less crowded facilities.

This was my third and most certainly final time visiting the Bristol lido. The service we received while trying to get food was extremely poor. The pool and facilities are incredibly overcrowded and it has the feeling that the members don't want non members there I also had a massage which was the worst I have ever encountered. From the mood set by the therapist to the pressure and overall experience. I had to stretch and foam roll after as my muscles were so tight.

Had the most amazing Classical Massage from Dani recently. I was amazed at how thorough she was and it definitely helped my lower back. All 3 masseuses were amazing at accommodating us after arriving late due to heavy traffic. The lido itself is beautiful in sunset and the message rooms are well equipped. They offer complimentary teas afterwards in a nice, relaxing room. Showers are equipped with everything you need and the complimentary towel and bathrobe make it so you don't need to bring anything to your appointment, just your aching back. Definitely would go again and enjoy the pool a little bit!

The lido is a beautiful spot for a meal any time of the day but especially for an evening poolside drink and nibble. The food is always delicious, but unfortunately on more than one occasion in the upstairs restaurant, the wait for food to arrive has been far too long. The staff were friendly and professional but didn’t really check-in with us, and it was difficult to catch their attention. This time, I did point out the unacceptable delay, the staff were lovely and apologetic , but didn’t attempt to make it up (e.g with some table bread!). We’ll of course be back to the lido bar because it’s one of the best spots in the city, but unfortunately will be giving the restaurant a miss in the future.

You certainly have won't be hurried out of here... Service extremely slow and lackadaisical, and definitely not worth the 12.5% service charge. Meals arrived with big gaps so that half our group had virtually finished by the time others were starting. Food mixed - some plates were delicious, others nondescript and certainly not worth £26-£28. Maybe visible management might help. The staff seemed keener on chatting to each other than serving us, and even taking payment for our (overpriced!) meal took further 15 minutes after they'd brought us the bill. It was a great shame because the restaurant has a fab, quirky setting and has lots of potential. ☹️

We visited the Lido as we were gifted a voucher for a spa and massage. While there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the lido itself, I struggle to see its appeal to anyone who knows anything about spa treatments. First, there is nowhere to properly cool down after the sauna or hot tub. The bucket shower doesn't do the trick. They could really add 2 ice barrels in that corner. Second, once you have had a few rounds of sauna, there is nowhere to lounge and recover, and there are no racks or hooks to put your glasses or towel so everything gets dumped on a bench. Third, the massages are alright for the general population, but you can get a much better deal somewhere else. The floors were suspiciously unclean in some areas, and the pool tiles slimy. They really need a cleaner to keep things tidy all day. We had a cake and tea at the restaurant which was alright. Overall, I think it was not a very good value for money. It seems like an expensive infrastructure to upkeep and doesn't feel very inviting.

We went for the swim and dinner papckage (it was gifted to us as a wedding present) and I have to say I was disappointed. The swimming pool is absolutely freezing so the hot tub and sauna were consistently overcrowded - not enjoyable. There was also a lack of seating around the poolside (without going through to the bar / restaurant) which I found odd. £5 for robe hire also seemed steep. The dinner was questionable, I had the crab orzo as a starter which was nice but some of the lamb in the main course was still raw, so I left it. I told the waitress when she came to take away the plates, and she told me 'that's how we cook it here' and that 'I should've asked for it to be cooked longer' but at no point during the meal did anyone ask us if our food was OK. I noticed several times that the staff were having conversations amongst themselves and some were on their phones, clearly not interested. We also had to ask for more drinks, their 12.5% service charge is absolutely not deserved.

Rather an odd service from the Lido. Our table was upstairs for lunch and we just ordered a main course, thinking that we would only have time for 2 courses and opting to have dessert instead of starter. Half a hour passed and no food. We were told that it would not be long. 15 minutes later, we still had no food. At this point the waiter said that because we had not ordered starters we had been put at the back of the queue behind those tables that did order starters. This did indeed seem true as other tables around us had received starters and mains by this time. Eventually the food arrived and it was good …. But by that time we could not stay for dessert. So, no complaints about the food but way too long to get served and it seems an odd way to run a restaurant. If you order a main only, why have to wait for the amount of time that it might have taken if you’d had a starter? Oh, and in general the waiting staff whilst not actually rude, appeared not to care very much whether people were happy or not.

First time coming here for a swim and massage package as it was a gift from my friends. The restaurant was right next to the pool which I felt a bit weird as people are just watching you swim whilst they're enjoying their food. However the pool was nice and clean, it did get busy on and off so you have to keep an eye out on when to have a swim as it can get quite busy. The hot tub was quite spacious and large, along with the sauna. The steam room probably fits about 6 people, seemed a bit small compared to the sauna. The massage was the cherry on top for sure! My masseuse was very welcoming and explained everything. It was so comfortable I think I almost drifted off to sleep twice! After the massage there was a chill out room to relax and unwind where you can have some green tea/ water which I thought was a very nice touch. Would definitely recommend as a package as just the swim/ spa section didn't seem worth the price.

We visited for a 2 hour guest swim, rather than for the restaurant. At £25 for the 2 hours, this is not your typical lido, more like a spa or exclusive health club. Wonderful service in the reception upon arrival, with a mini tour of the facilities, which includes steam room, sauna and jacuzzi in the entry price. The pool is 24m and very gently heated (around 21° when we visited). Free lockers available in the reception and you can take your own towels (towel hire is available). The individual changing cubicles (poolside traditional or indoor) are fab and come with your own individual shower + blissful body wash and shampoo. Getting into the raised level pool is quite slippy and I recommend taking sliders for walking around. Boudoir post-swim facilities for make-up & hair are a bonus, as is the view of the pool from the first floor balcony. Went for a post- swim cocktail at the bar which was lush. We'll be back - what a super, unique experience 💕

I don’t often write reviews but wanted to shout out the amazing restaurant staff for being so accommodating yesterday. My friend and I went for the swim and lunch package, and the pool and spa facilities were gorgeous as always. I booked online and added a note about my friend’s food intolerances, and the team handled this brilliantly - marking up the menu beforehand with dishes that were gluten and dairy free (or could be adapted to suit her). Our waitress (reddish hair, lovely flicked eyeliner) was so friendly and attentive, and when I had an issue with my starter she was really kind about it and brought out a replacement. I don’t like sending food back and find it a bit anxiety-inducing so only do it if I really have to, but she was very understanding and put me at ease. I should add that I’ve eaten here loads of times and the food is always incredible, so don’t let this put you off. Restaurant chefs are cooking so many dishes on a daily basis, so even the best ones aren’t going to be perfect 100% of the time! The rest of the meal was delicious - my hake was perfectly cooked and I’m glad I kept some bread to mop up the chilli butter at the end. I also highly recommend the vinho verde, which is so refreshing and goes beautifully with fish. Thank you for looking after us, it was a lovely day out :)

What an amazing three days at the Bristol Lido. We stayed at the Lido Townhouse. A townhouse with luxurious contemporary ensuite room with wonderful fluffy robes and towels. We felt very spoilt as the fantastic lido team looked after us as if we were royalty. Georgia, Alison, Ruby and Tashi to name a few, thank you so much. We swam before breakfast in a heated outdoor pool and hot tub before having coffee in our robes. After changing we had breakfast by the pool. It was such a superb breakfast menu. We walked to Clifton suspension bridge as it was close by. The evening Tapas dinner menu was very exciting and tasty on the first night but we went into the main restaurant upstairs for our anniversary the second next night and that expansive menu made it hard to choose from but we did ... Dinner tonight to celebrate some good news and always used to be able to rely on restaurant both for its setting and lovely food. So disappointed tonight. Tasteless starters - the scallops are a stalwart of the menu but blackened and burnt butter sauce. My slow cooked lamb was tough and took a lot of sawing to get it off the bone. It arrived cold, dried up, with 3 half new potatoes, a few peas and a dribble of sauce. Just not up to restaurant standard. Waiters weren’t to be seen so had to go up to find them to get salt and pepper. What has gone wrong in the kitchen?

The view sat around the poolside is gorgeous, with the inviting outdoor pool, lovely seating areas & pretty outdoor changing rooms; you can not help but love this place! However, the service did not match the price tag of the poolside menu, (small plates) & during our lunch we had 4 different servers. It was a hot day, the restaurant was packed & the staff seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables booked; but this does not excuse being courteous, friendly & attentive, which we did not receive. The food is good, varied & fairly seasonal. The flavors are balanced & seasoned well. Stand out dishes - Roasted Beetroot, Hummus & Albondigas, which were divine! The wine list is good, however as in all restaurants, overpriced! I feel service let down the lunch we had, & priced at just shy of £120 for lunch, the Lido really need to improve to gain better reviews.

Excellent facial with Tamika, left feeling very relaxed. Changing rooms are a little small but all facilities were clean and it's beautifully decorated.

Booked the couples massage+swim followed by a tapas lunch. Everything was faultless and we really enjoyed the time had. Food was great and exactly what we needed for an early lunch.

Went for swim and dine package with my friend! Have been once before. Members are rude to people they know aren’t and make it clear they are put out you’re there ! The changing rooms were also really dirty with toilet roll over the floor and hair. The receptionist that showed us round was lovely and food was nice !

Had the dine package but only one hot tub and a small steam room so not much room, just got the feeling the 'regulars' aren't overly happy with other people sharing their space but we just ignored them and got on with it! Changing rooms - bring flip flops... Food was lovely but service so slow... they forgot my glass of wine and it took nearly 20 minutes to bring it up, the starters arrived fairly quickly but the mains were over an hour later and the restaurant was only a third full... side dish arrived as we were finishing the main... Service was without personality or care, not bad at all but just didn't have the wow factor you'd expect paying those sort of prices

Lido has a unique setting, overlooking an outdoor (heated) swimming pool. The staff could not be nicer, more helpful, more professional. Very nice, eclectic food and a great wine list. The whole experience is delightful and, despite the popularity of the place, they could not make you feel more at home.

The member of staff looking after us was great. We ordered two sea bream on the bone but there was a lot of bones and skin and not much flesh - 2oz is probably me being generous once you sorted out all the inedible bits. There was clam shell mixed in with sauce which I cracked my tooth on- ouch. The sauce was quite gelatinous and on the cool side which made it rather unpalatable . The potato side dish was hot and delicious - we should have just ordered more of that. My requested extra Strong coffee at the end of lunch tasted burnt and may have been reheated! I drink a lot of good coffee and this was seriously thumbs down. Couldn’t bring myself to tell the lovely waiter however… When I go out and eat- I want to eat better than I could create at home- I could definitely show the kitchen how to improve basic principles - i.e. order some decent fish to start with.

I took a Swim package for my friend's birthday, and we were not disappointed with their swim package, which included a steam room, sauna, swimming, and Jacuzzi. We loved it very much. During the time at the SPA, you could use showers that had shower gel and shampoo. There was some small room to get change and a room to dry afterward to dry your hair - a hair dryer and straightener were available. After swimming, we went for dinner, and we ordered asparagus and scallops to start with, which were excellent. For the main course, we ordered beans with rabbit and monkfish with seafood. However, the main dishes lacked seasoning or flavoring. Almost there was no flavor, which was very disappointing for the prices on the menu ( although we didn’t pay for it as part of the package). If I were going to return it just for dinner, for the menu price we saw, I wouldn’t come back. Sorry.

Amazing, lovely, super. The swim dine experience was simply incredible. We felt so relaxed, happy and spoilt. The staff were lovely, the pool was not crowded, the restaurant and food, incredibly good. We didn't want to leave. Can't wait to revisit next time we are in town. Thank you.

A Gift for Birthday Swim/lunch voucher. Very lovely experience and nice clean facilities. Receptionist was exceptionally friendly and welcoming explaining all the different areas eg sauce, steam room, hot tub and changing facilities. We had a relaxing morning enjoying this and swimming. Lunch was delicious, gorgeous food and a nice view over the pool. Discretionary 12.5% is added to the whole bill despite it being a gift voucher. It definitely doesn’t feel like discretionary, rather forced I felt!

This little oasis in a hidden street is wonderful. I wish I lived in Bristol. We had lunch downstairs inside . So eating lots of healthy food watching people swimming away outside! The vegetable dishes especially the beetroot and carrot dishes were delicious. I guess you need to book but luckily we went early and got in.

Booked a swim & massage package. The pool was a touch chilly when I entered, but after a length or two, I was fine. The hot stone massage was amazing, I can't recommend it highly enough. There was a little noise from downstairs, which made it a little less relaxing but didn't take away from the massage itself. I didn't use the cafe or restaurant during my visit but it looked busy!

It is a very cozy and warm place and a great location for dinner. We were 10 people at the table, and the space was very tight. Tables feel small, and you bumping elbows with people on either side. Very limited menu, and nothing jumped out at me. I had the venison, which, in my opinion, was not cooked properly. The center was still cold, which left the meat a bit chewy.

My partner and I came on Saturday evening for my birthday, the whole experience was amazing from swimming, hot tub, jacuzzi and sauna spotlessly clean throughout, staff very friendly. We then went to eat and again the service by the staff was amazing, food outstanding, we were so pleased we went for the evening, swimming with the night sky was a great experience. The whole package excellent for the price.

this place is so so gorgeous and the perfect hang out for lunch! whist the atmosphere at night is beautiful next to the pool, I was slightly disappointed with the food from the a la carte menu. I felt as if they lacked flavour, and the iberico pork was unevenly cooked which was a shame as it cost £30. Also, the dish was 70% chick peas?! I still had a nice time, but that was mainly down to being next to the pool!

We liked the restaurant overlooking the pool but we were disappointed with our lunch overall. 3 of us ordered the fish soup which was cold and a small portion served in a shallow bowl. Two of us had Iberico pork shoulder which was only average, tender but lacking in any depth of flavour and luke warm. Cold food seems to be a recurring comment in other diner reviews Service was very slow and we were not offered dessert but had to ask for the menu after 20 minutes. I had 2 scoops of ice cream which tasted nice but were poorly presented, friends lemon tart was fine, the meringue and rhubarb was quite chewy and did not look very appealing. We had not visited the Lido for a number of years and then the food was much better. For the price, this did not represent value for money and I doubt that we will return. Such a pity.

My wife is recovering from a serious stroke in 2022 and we're getting back into life slowly but surely. As dedicated foodies, one of our goals has been to revisit the restaurants we enjoyed prior to the stroke. This has been mostly successful, but we were sorely disappointed on Saturday night when we dined at the Lido. The visit started well, staff were friendly and attentive and reserved the table we had always requested overlooking the pool. Starters were good (my wife chose scallops and I had a kofta.) Unfortunately, we had also ordered mains: venison for my wife and suckling pig for me. Presentation was appalling--dog's dinner comes to mind. Both meals were dumped on the plates drenched in gravy for her and a slightly fruity sauce for me. Venison is lovely when sliced and layered on the plate but hers consisted of lumps of meat amidst some Ana potatoes and spinach. Mine was in similar disarray except the sauce was yellowish rather than brown. I cut my wife's meat for her and, in contrast to recent buttery tender venison meals her lumps required serious sawing and she found it equally difficult to chew. My suckling pig was just as chewy, rather than the falling off the bone tenderness I was expecting, and significantly overcooked throughout. I mentioned this to the friendly young waiter, who was apologetic and polite, but declined his offer of a complimentary coffee. Desserts (rhubarb mess and cheese plate) were just OK. All in all a disappointing evening and we won't be rushing back any time soon.

Came for the valentines menu with my partner, food and service were lovely, however our table location was really disappointing, I get that a window seat is not always available, but the table directly behind the bar and in front the kitchen should not exist, especially on nights like these.

To be fair the service was quick as we were on route to a gig. We opted for lamb shashlik with giros type bread with chips and salad.. It was tasty.. The interior of the restaurant is a bit drab. Staff were smoking by the front door. We were sat by the window by the door.. I was going to complain however it ended quite quickly.. Doesn’t do the business any favours.

We hadn’t visited Nando’s for a while, although we previously visited quite regularly. We arrived at opening time so it was very quiet. We were greeted warmly as we walked in and was given the option to choose where we wanted to sit. The food came out very quickly and was very tasty.

Tried to visit here for breakfast around 1000, told we had to wait until 1130 as we did not have a reservation. It is a cafe in name only - it’s a restaurant and the staff were indifferent to the fact I wasn’t aware a reservation was necessary. In my view, a cafe should accept walk-ins. If you require a reservation, they should put a sign at the bottom of the metal access steps so people are aware before they walk up there and try to get a table. Food appears overpriced and pretentious. If you want a decent breakfast, quickly and at a reasonable price, head to Wetherspoons V-Shed on the dock only a couple of minutes walk away, you will be much more satisfied. I should have gone there first rather than wasting my time walking up here.
