Uns gefällt das Ambiente aus den 70er Jahren. Wie eine Zeitkaplsel. Dazu die freundliche Bedienung. Gut für einen Boxenstopp.

Didn't plan to stop here but it was convenient, found it travelling south from the M56.OK this is very much traditional transport cafe style, no pretence and no frills but the coffee was good and sensibly priced. £2.50 for a large Americano. Liked it enough to stop on the way back three days later and again a positive experience. Although I didn't eat there except to buy a packet of shortbread biscuits (£1.10 I think it was - decent price) the menu showed a good range of scoff at sensible prices and the sight of lots of people including truck drivers and a cycling group tucking in made me think it was good.

well this was awful they didn't want us there. I have never had a sausage in a bap so bad you could taste the grease. You could stand a spoon up in the tea they gave us it was shocking and we asked for more milk but it didn't make ant difference

As a trucker iv learned to forage for food and have tried a wide and varied establishment type so when I spotted and old faithful in the shape of an old type truck stop along the A49 I thought I had struck gold didn't have a lot of time to stop but was hungry. The let's eat cafe diner is a well kept place clean tidy good safe parking and restrooms the staff were pleasant and timely. The food let it down I ordered Breakfast barm and as it wasn't on the menu had to explain what I wanted it arrived quickly and I left. The sandwich wasn't up to it the bread was not as fresh as it could have been the egg black pudding and bacon ok and the sausage missing was £4.50 not too excessive but just didn't feel value for money.

When planning a biking trip I remembered many years ago visiting a cafe on the A49 just off the M6 so whilst looking for route to North Wales thought I'd try and find it. I found this place on Google Maps, couldn't remember if this was it or not but thought I'd give it a go.On arrival remembered the place. Having read some bad reviews through Google Maps I was a little reticent. The all day breakfasts were well cooked and good value and included a mug of tea in the price. Choice of beans or tomatoes but as I didn't have mushrooms asked for and got both 2 slices of toast included. No complaints at all. Some people complained about miserable surly staff on line, but again no complaints at all. Staff were business like and competent.I certainly won't hesitate in visiting again.

When heading down to Shropshire or Herefordshire, we always take the A49 just so we can have lunch at Lets Eat Cafe. It's a no frills cafe with simple food; english breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and jacket spuds. Good sized portions. The omelettes are a real treat. Always clean. Staff always friendly. Highly recommended for a quick pit stop, fill up & go.

My son and I always come here for a Sunday treat if my wife is at work. Best breakfast we have eaten, always fresh food, freshly cooked to perfection. There are quite a few other meals on the menu but we always order breakfast by the time we get to the front of the queue. It always seems relatively busy but we never have to wait too long, and you are given your tea as you order. Definitely the best place for a hangover breakfast.

Ok so let's be straight, one does not expect 5star Michelin service and food at a greasy spoon but still...... ok food (cheap offal sausages though) but not great service. Stacking cans of pop in the fridge does not come before taking a customers order. It took a colleague from back of kitchen to do that. Unclear contents of 'big breakfast ' did not help. When asked 'beans or tomatoes?' Past experience shoes 'half and half' is not an unreasonable request. Unfortunately you get charged full price for both. When asked 'hash browns, black pudding?' These are not included either. Frankly a charge of £8.00 to include beans AND tomatoes and black pudding is reaching little chef prices. Obviously the big breakfast is not big until you pay big. Hmmmmmmm.

We ordered the Roast beef dinner, it arrived quickly and was a very good portion size, three pieces of beef, two roast and two boiled potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, garden peas and gravy and it was all cooked to perfection and at only 6.25 great value. I am fairly local to this area and travel a lot with work This truckstop was conveniently situated on the A49. I had read the reviews prior to my visit and was expecting a good meal at a basic cafe. I got an average meal in a below average cafe!. The food did look reasonably good but it didnt taste that great. It was served on a fairly cold plate and the peas were luke warm/dull green in colour (old) and the pie was over cooked, not inedible ( think it had been in the microwave ) chips were bland/tasteless.! The cafe itself looks outdated and needs inspiration! The staff seem more interested in chatting than serving the customers and I had to wait for them to finish their conversation before I was served. The prices are fairly high compared to other places you can go in this competitive market.I would say if you have to stop here then expect below average. However, if you can carry on up the A49 you will find much better value for your money and a better customer service. My advise give it a miss!

Always feel a bit weird going in here as I am neither a lorry driver or a cyclist and it feels a bit like I'm intruding in a world where I haven't earned the right to eat food that is both so good and so bad (for you!) However there are times when you just need a right good English breakfast that will leave you unable to move and there is no better place than this! I visited the cafe on the way home from a trip to Warrington. I had read excellent reviews about this cafe so thought I'd give it ago. When I get arrived it was a standard truck stop, grubby, dull and lacking with customer service. I went to the counter to order and asked for a menu, in which the lady on the counter rudely pointed to the board with just a few dishes on. I ordered a full English but asked if I could replace the 2 slices of bread with a hash brown in which I got the red once 'erm, no.' incredibly rude. I ordered my food and took a seat, the food came quite promptly and it was ok, a few minutes later a waiter shouted our order number out again and we explained we already had our food. The manager later came over to say that we had been given the wrong food quite frankly trying to blame us!! very disappointed with it.

This great cafe is on the A49, near its junction with the A533. It's one of those wonderful places that caters for everyone - motorists, bikers, cyclists and truckers - and does it successfully. It's on the non-motorway route to (and/or back from) Wales for motoring enthusiasts, cyclists and bikers, so is therefore a regular 'watering hole' for groups and individuals on a ride or drive out. I was there with my biking buddy yesterday. The welcome was friendly, the food was good - brought to our table - and the price was right. There were even newspapers provided FOC. What more could a biker ask for!

I am staying at BW for work and booked dinner at Hilltops on my first night. I was initially nervous that there didn't appear to be anything suitable for vegans on the menu, but I double checked with the receptionist, who was very helpful and communicated my request to the restaurant. This was a short-notice request, so I was not expecting much, but the chefs went above and beyond. The tofu & veg curry was really tasty, and the choc fudge cake was delicious. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, but the team prepared the leftovers for me to take to my room and eat later. Thank you to the talented kitchen team and wonderful front of house team at Hilltops!

We were visiting the Anderton Boat Lift which is just 10 minutes down the towpath from The Moorings. As the coffee shop there was quite full after the boat trip we decided to try somewhere else close by. The Moorings is a little gem of a place, run by chefs, so expect hotel like presentation of excellent food, which is worth waiting for. This is a totally different dining experience from the usual canal side cafe. Dogs are allowed inside on the hard floor area, but we sat outside with ours as it was a beautiful day and we could admire the canal boats in the marina.
