Leon - Eurotunnel in Shepway

If you are lucky enough to be served by an Angel, you will have a great experience here. By that, I mean we arrived just before the restaurant closed for the day and the lady called Angel was just so kind, friendly and keen to make our day that we not only enjoyed the food, we went away feeling uplifted and blessed.

Came here on the 1st of August at around 6:30 but only just managed to get round to writing this as have had a busy time away. I had a few issues when I had came here before such as cold food and not the correct order however this time it was brilliant. Food was amazing and really upped their standards. I had a breakfast box and hashbrowns. Who i can only assume was the manager as she was the only one in her own clothes made me the BEST latte i’ve ever had topped with a cute little heart. Very impressed leon, well done

The breakfast box looked great on the signs but in reality it was garbage, don’t waste your money. The sausage and cheese were okay but the eggs were hard, the beans like bullets, what a let down. Eurotunnel doesn’t really have any good breakfast offerings though unfortunately.

Great helpful staff. Managed large volumes of customers. Served by Angel...really helpful. Food (gf) was tasty, hot and well presented.

Fantastic breakfast meal - Avocado and Halloumi burger was excellent. This venue has never failed me, frankly. Quick and friendly service, as per usual.

Have used this outlet before and whilst they seemed a bit short of staff they were efficient and friendly. There was a short wait but the egg and bacon bap was excellent. Much better than La Gare in my opinion.

Probably the worst attempt at a cooked breakfast we’ve ever had. Bought two breakfast boxes and these contained one tiny sausage, one rasher of undercooked bacon, beans that were just mush, two eggs that were so hard they might have been cooked the day before and kept warm and a small piece of halloumi (the only decent thing in the box). Really awful food - we thought Leon did stuff a bit better than this but obviously not. Not much choice at Eurotunnel but this is one to avoid.

Delicious early bite to eat of an avocado and Halloumi muffin. Extremely pleasant indeed. Service was quick and friendly.

The food was absolutely delicious!!!! The bioactive yoghurt has done wonders for my gut 😍😍😍😍 Run don’t walk to Leon right now and get your bioactive yoghurt for your own health!! -Jim xxxx

Had tried Leon twice before, elsewhere, and always highly enjoyed their Veg Love Burgers. Was not disappointed - again - highly delicious burger. Good, friendly rapid service. Clean venue.

Great place to get a bite to eat before we start our journey. I got the vegan cheesy jackfruit nuggets, Fantastic as they are coated in gluten free breadcrumbs and also got a GF chocolate brownie with a coconut milk latte

Grabbed some breakfast muffins here this morning before our train! 5am but the two women serving were lovely and welcoming. I am a veggie and had the halloumi and avocado muffin with the salsa and it was delicious, fresh and inventive unlike some veggie food! Partner also had a halloumi and veggie muffin and a sausage and egg muffin, which the egg was cooked perfectly and runny in the middle. Thank you Leon!

Recently had a short break on our way to France and really enjoyed our food at Leon. Fresh and tasty so no complaints here, would recommend and return.

Revolting turkey curry - unusual for Leon’s I will resist eating there again. A pity all my previous visits have been rather pleasant - my issue is they know it’s rubbish and keep serving it

I arrived at Folkstone Terminal on a Monday night with several hours spare so decided to eat there. The choice was Burger king or Leon so I went for what I thought was the more upmarket and healthy option. Only one other customer there so only waited 5 or 10 minutes. Menus looked great so I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry and a Halloumi wrap for the drive. I ate the Chicken Katsu Curry in the restaurant and went off to catch my train. During the train ride to Calais I didn't feel very good. On the drive towards Brussels I felt even worse. Ended up pulling over to vomit three times with the worse food poisoning. When I got to my address in Netherlands I had vomiting and diarrhea and ended up taking the next day off work. The halloumi wrap might have been ok but I couldn't take the risk and it went straight in the bin.

Grabbed a quick coffee on our way to france. Combination of flat whites, lattes and americano. All reasonably price, service was excellent and the coffees were fabulous

We stopped here for breakfast before our road trip to France. They offer a good selection of freshly prepared muffins, which were very tasty. I had the halloumi and my husband had the salmon, they were delicious. The service was very quick and staff friendly.

I was very impressed for a fast food place this is a lot better than the normal ones I would really recommend it the food was served really quickly but was much nicer and tastier and what would’ve expected well done

Restaurant propre. Ne connaissant pas le concept, nous avons essayé pour le petit qui a pris un wrap, des frites qui n'en ont pas la forme. Il a presque tout mangé. Seul bémol à cette enseigne, des prix exhorbitants qui justifie ma note.

Stopped here for breakfast waiting for our train slot in April 2019. Ordered breakfast in a box , I imagine the box would have tasted better. No beans , they’d run out at 9am ? Eggs were nuked in the microwave . Served with of course the breakfast classic a slice of avocado. Why can’t a professional catering business put out a half decent breakfast , baffling. Mediocre is being complimentary. Give it a miss and bring last nights sandwiches made at home ...

Called in for breakfast snack before boarding train. Food was freshly prepared and was of decent quality. Coffee was hot so no complaints. Reasonable value considering situation. Will do takeaways if in a hurry.

Voordat we op de trein reden bestelden we hier de Moroccan meatballs en de Siclilan chicken meatballs en dat was geen teleurstelling. Een grote smakelijke portie, verpakt in een mooie milieuvriendelijke kartonnen box.

The muffins are very good. The coffee is appalling, to hot, all strength with no flavour. The need to buy better beans and that them properly. Is expensive but no more so that the competition in the service area. The bacon and egg muffins were best of the meal.

I just stopped for a quick bite. Saw this place called LEON next to the burger place with the crown. Thought, I should try something new. And did, not having a clue as to what they served. Checked out the menu and liked the look of the Satay chicken and was quickly served a delicious treat. It was really good. Place was clean at this quiet time of day, as it should be.Staff were pleasant and efficient. I thanked them for a tasty meal. I shall return of the opportunity arrives again.

Just had a halloumi and smashed avocado muffin and a latte. The others had porridge. All very good and considering the length of the queue service was pretty quick.

Visited here in the evening. Only a short queue of about 3 people yet it took me 10 minutes to be served, and waited a long time for some luke-warm food. Uninterested service for more money than it was worth.

We seemed to have picked a busy time to call in here before our crossing and opted for this place as the queue looked a little smaller than anywhere else. We we served quickly and the coffee was decent and good value too.

only had time for quick cappuccinos as were waiting to be called through - staff helpful prices on the high side but otherwise ok

Got stuck at the Chunnel heading out to mainland Europe and needed a quick bite I didn’t want a Burger King so I came here and had the lamb wrap, I asked the staff how long the wrap had been cooked as there was one on the side, she said about 2 minutes, so I decided to have it, sorry to say it was cold and tasteless.

We were making a trip across on Friday night to France to reduce the journey on Sat and had around an 1 hour before our departure shuttle. As we would be arriving at our hotel late we chose here as meal choice and enjoyed a lovely boxed meal which we ate on the journey over. The Sicilian meatball option was well cooked and flavoursome as was the other choice of Chicken Tagine with olive and lemon and accompanied by 2 coffees. Much better alternative than burger and chips and would definitely use again. Service was quick and menu has a wide range of other choices to suit most palates.

Please be careful when ordering chicken based meals. It was a busy time and I ordered Chicken Kale. It didn't taste nice, so I only ate half of it. I was violently sick 2 hrs later. This is just a warning. They are trying to produce food too quickly. This was my first experience and wouldn't recommend.

I am on a gluten free diet and there are not too many places that offer that in most towns. The Leon provides very good gluten free tasty meals plus they offer a wide variety of options. The pricing is good and the wait is not long at all. Overall good value for money.

it was a very nice place to go to when you have been driving for a long time the coffee had a grate taste and gave me a real boost the man who gave it to me was very nice and very welcoming

I’m a massive fan of Leon, but seriously, 8 min wait for my bacon and egg (stewed egg), that was literally thrown together, and porridge for my wife that had half of the cinnamon in the world chucked over the top and bananas and worse still was COLD.

Leon actually have some very tasty food. Here at the Eurotunnel terminal there are often queues as travellers try to grab something to eat while dealing with the delay to their crossing. The staff deal with that as fast as possible.

We enjoyed a variety of breakfast items before catching the morning Shuttle. The smoked salmon and egg muffin was great. Coffee was really good. I liked that they had a 'kids corner' which had toys and things to entertain the little ones! Staff were very friendly. Well worth a look when visiting the Eurotunnel terminal.

Quick lunch before getting on the train, only place that appeared to be offering anything fresh / heathy. Food was ok, could have been hotter, service a bit slow.

We enjoyed the haloumi and avocado muffin which was good value on the breakfast menu. Pleasant staff and fast service.

We enjoyed a bacon and egg muffin with tea and an apple. You can eat in or take away but many people take away to eat on the train as it gives you something to do on the journey.

One of the retail outlets in the Eurotunnel terminal. I usually get there quite late - 2100 ish - and have never seen Leon open before. But this time I had an afternoon crossing, and since Leon was open, I thought I would give it a try.

Good place for a quick drink or bite to eat before taking Le Shuttle. Coffee is very good and they have dairy free 'milk' alternatives for the lactose intolerant! As such, a vegan or non-dairy yogurt or porridge on the breakfast menu would be appreciated! Staff were very friendly. I had the Breakfast Box which unfortunately appeared to have been sat about for a bit and didn't look very appealing at all - the poached eggs were definitely overdone and the beans were a bit dried out but I didn't have the time to take it back. I was hungry and ate it and although disappointing and not the best, it did all taste better than it looked! Leon is still a better place to eat than anything in the Calais terminal and is far more reasonable.

Popped in here for breakfast and there was a great selection of gluten free foods and healthy options as well as the traditional egg and bacon options. The staff were really friendly and helpful,thoroughly recommended this place. There’s a sit in area and take away options.

Much better than the alternatives with a decent choice of freshly made muffins etc. Coffee is good too. Can be hectic and busy. Let's face it, nobody wants to eat in the Eurotunnel terminal - we'd all rather be on our way - but it's as good as it can be.

It is a little strange that, given the French reputation for good food, it should be the English end of Le Shuttle that has the more flavoursome food, at Leon.

Had the Vegan festive wrap. Excellent, but then I'm a huge Leon fan. Love the Super food salad its my favourite. The fries mmmmm

Thee are 3 choices at the waiting area for the Channel Tunnel. Burger King is a poor option, the pub grub didn’t interest us, so we went for the Sicilian chicken meatball option at Leon. Basically chicken meatballs in a pesto and tomato sauce with a good helping of healthy brown rice.

Located inside the Eurotunnel complex is this cafe serving fast foods and drinks. Something to eat and drink. Prices are a little above average and funnily enough so is the food. It is definitely not 4 stars.

My friend and I wanted a quick drink before heading to the continent so we chose Leon over Starbucks since their coffee is better. My friend decided to order some porridge because it's normally made exactly the way she likes it...not this time. It was so stodgy she barely ate a third before throwing it away. My coffee was passed to me in a leaky cup, which the barista did fix quickly and seemed a bit concerned that it happened in the first place...just overall not a great visit. That said, at 5:30am with few choices and not being Starbucks fans, we'd go back.

Needed some lunch before getting onto the train, this looked a bit different for a change.

Leon is a great change from the normal fast food outlet. Great tasting food that’s not just a burger.

We went at a very busy time with enormous queues and ordered chargrilled chicken and avocado which was excellent. The problem was the ordering system where you order and pay but not everyone gets a receipt despite my asking. You then queue at the other end with about 20 others whilst quietly spoken staff shout your order and everybody swoops forward to hear better. Despite the system the food was very good and very healthy as advertised!

We were very impressed with how flavoursome the food is here for a healthy meal. The kids boxes are fantastic value for money & we would definitely recommend the meatballs!! Reasonable cost too & happy friendly staff.

Nice to have a meal other than traditional fast food. I had a Tasty char grilled chicken and chorizo on a bed of rice.My husband had a Korean Burger ( not quite sure what was Korean about it, but he enjoyed it)

We pitstopped here on our way to France the staff were helpful and nice. The good food was good but it felt a little over priced for what we got so I can't give it a good!

Had arisen at 4.10 to drive to the Eurotunnel and so we were peckish when we arrived around 9am. Both had the mushroom and egg muffin. I'd prefer my egg runny, and perhaps should have asked, but it was good. The mushrooms were excellent and it came with a quite sweet sauce on it - not ketchup, but really nice.

My nutritionist and trainer put me on a high protein diet. The food here was perfectly co pliant with that programme and for about £7 I was able to get a quick dinner to take on the tunnel train. Will make this my regular stop.

Staff good, reasonably priced but basic snacks only. Clean fresh food.£ 5.60 per person for a roll and coffee

Off to the continent and needed lunch so tried this place which we hadn't heard of. I had moroccan meat balls - fab! Found out later that it was almost 800 calories! Nice staff and a good clean eatery.

Having travelled down from the North East on our way to France we were in desperate need of something to eat before going aboard the Channel Tunnel Train. Leon's provided a reasonable choice of snacks and food at a reasonable cost.

I now look forward to getting food for the Eurotunnel crossing and have become addicted to the Leon superfood salad. Yes it is fast food but they make sure you go into the tunnel with everything you need to enjoy your meal.....bless them because there is no turning back for a napkin or salt.Thank you - see you next visit.....I might even try something different.

As usual we ate dinner here before catching the Train for our half term skiing holiday.I can recommend the fish finger wrap with a side of slaw and lattice fries.My only criticism is that the coffee is not great & my Flat White was very disappointing!Overall will return as the food is great but would skip the coffee.

Not great but OK. Needed a coffee and food while waiting for Le Shuttle and this had the simple snack type food we wanted.We both had a sausage bap and coffee. Disappointing that they smear second rate tomato ketchup on the sausage without telling you. One of us has an aversion of tomato ketchup. The staff were fine when we took it back, but why didn't they ask first?Coffee was OK too.All in all it was probably as good as you can get there which is a sad reflection on fast food!

Chaos ruled in this place to start with. A completely incompetent kitchen team running around like chickens! The poor girls trying yo get some food deserve a medal!The food: don't even go there! Cheap, the wrap falling apart im 3 places....Another place to avoid!

We had breakfast here before going through the Tunnel and the food was average really. Just as we were leaving the menus changed and the lunch lists were put up which to be honest looked quite interesting. The prices were reasonable and the staff friendly. Would try again but the lunch menu if possible.

Don't know why people que de like at the burgerking next to Leons. Food is great and prices low. Next time, ill will visit again.

Considering there are only 2 place to eat at Folkestone Tunnel Leon is failing miserably. We travel to Europe most weekends from March to Oct and have only successfully eaten at Leon once where they actually had everything on offer. The service is slow to non existent. There is always a queue a mile long and they take forever to process the orders. The kitchen staff look so miserable and are often bickering with the service staff. This leaves Burger King as the only option. You have the chance guys to seriously make some coin but you have got to get it together and improve your game.

We were literally only looking for a light lunch and were shocked to see that the neighbours, Burger King, were looking for £7 plus for a burger with no extra trimmings! Hence our Fish Finger and Chicken and Chorizo wraps for less than £15 for the two of us including a coffee each came across as a bargain. There was ample filling, the wraps were served hot and the coffee was good so, for a place with a captive audience such as this, Leons is about as good as you can get for the money.

Had the lamb kofte wrap and a bottle of water. Kofte was cooked fresh so had to wait about two mins. Tasted lovely and fresh great flavours. Was packed with mint, pomegranate, salad, cucumber and a few other items in it. Would recommend to anyone traveling on the tunnel. Skip past the rest of the restaurants and go here!

On a pit stop here prior to our Euro trip we decided to get our breakfast from this place and was very disappointed, wrong contention the muffins we ordered,Latte was wek and warm and the pastries were hard.If we had checked the food at the counter I would have complained but we had drove off, not likely to stop or recommend this place.

Could do with a little less of the hipster shouty thing when they are trying to look all cool and efficient! Good food and the best option at the Eurotunnel terminal.

chicken box was just perfect to fill in the time we had to wait. It does take a bit of time, but the food is so tasty I can forgive the wait

Stopped in for breakfast while we were waiting for our train. The front of house - as mentioned in other reviews was pretty poor. It took ages for the food and even hot drinks to appear. We had to ask twice for spoons and even more times for serviettes! Fast food it wasn't. Fortunately, tasty food it was! The sausages in the muffins were super tasty and the yoghurts were delicious. Sharpen up on the device and this would be a great stop for a bite to eat.

Great drinks, serviced quickly - easy to locate. Tidy and staff friendly. Was not busy when we went in may and was seen to very quickly.

I visited here early evening whilst waiting for my train. The restaurant was pretty quiet and there were just 2 people ahead of me waiting for their food. I waited in line to be served but the service it would seem could only serve one customer at a time so I had to wait for the other food was distributed before I could place my order at the counter. I placed my order of which there was an item that had been already cooked there... I heard the server ask if the said item matched my order which he clarified with a statement 'but I don't know how long it's been sitting there' i of course was in ear shot but the server dismissed and continued to serve me the waiting food. I consequently asked for another freshly cooked and remarked i had heard the chefs comment. She told me its ok its only been there a few minutes. (Now there were two people in the queue ahead of me both receiving freshly cooked meals before I was served... ) I again asked for a fresh item to be cooked. To which seemed to please the chef but not the server.... The fresh item was very nice so thank you chef! I like the Leon food difference but would appreciate front of house servers that were at least polite...

Fish finger wraps and coffee. Excellent wraps, tasty and large with great filling. Very good coffee also. Clean and tidy with friendly staff.

Eurotunnel Chaos!Normally closes at 8pm - stayed open an extra two hours as the combination of train cancellations and football fans created a 5 hour delay. The staff remained cheerful and courteous. They deserve a big bonus! Oh and this is fantastic healthy fast food. Thank you.

Very busy food outlet in eurotunnel terminal. Service was efficient but a bit slow and disorganised. Staff tried hard and more than made up for shortcomings with friendly banter. Prices weren't bad and food quality was as to be expected from Leon. Worth a visit if you have journey time to spare.

This is on the uk side of the eurotunnel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed the food. A chicken and olive wrap shouldn't be this tasty! I'd been talked out of a bigger dish by my companion, but next time...

Each trip sees departures and new arrivals at the Folkestone terminal.At 7.00 there was little breakfast choice, so Leon won the toss! The food was acceptable, but the queues suggested they weren't expecting to be as busy as they were.

Had one of the best bacon sandwiches ever here. Good quality bacon in a fresh roll. Although you pay a slightly higher price here than at most fast food outlets the quality is so much better. The service was efficient and the staff pleasant.

Had 30 mins stop and meatballs in a box - tasty food and took it to the car! It wasn't busy so waited maybe 10 mins from ordering to food.

Visited on Saturday whilst caught up in the Eurotunnel delays, and to be fair the team were coping very well with the huge number of people wanting food.We chose the chicken burgers and chicken salad box, along with chips. All were good but some of the food was delayed due to the sheer number of people.Given the pressure the team were under they coped well and got meals out as quickly as possible. Definitely have this over the restaurants in the terminal.

Ordered a Sausage and Egg Muffin for breakfast, took it back to our car to eat, bit into Muffin expecting a normal Sausage and Egg Muffin....But no...They lather it with a god awful chilly type sauce...I mean chilly sauce for breakfast!! Just gross...It went straight in the bin...Never saw any warning of this also, If I had been someone who had allergies to chillies etc. I would have been in trouble.

We had a short amount of time to kill before boarding our Shuttle and queues at Starbucks were long. We opted for Leon, but I remarked to my companion (for no obvious reason) that I doubted they did decent coffee. This was overheard by the manager who assured me that Leon's coffee was out of this world. He was so charming, so we gave it a go. My flat white was hot and truly delicious. The lovely manager was so keen to impress he gave us two Danish pastries on the house. Service was polite and efficient, and unlike Starbucks, quick.

Staff lovely but no warning that the breakfast muffins had a spicy tomato sauce in so neither of us could eat the muffins & even after scrapping off as much sauce as we could was still too much. Should say on menu

I've been here twice now, once at lunch and once at breakfast, and both times the service was really slow. On the first occasion they "forgot" to cook my chips and then wanted me to wait another 5 minutes for them. As I was in a rush to catch our train they had to get me some from Burger King next door instead!This time we had breakfast. Again it was quite slow, there doesn't seem to be a system for getting the orders through to the kitchen other than just shouting it across.Both the sausage muffin and bacon muffin we had were average at best.

We were in a rush to catch the Le Shuttle back to France. Not expecting much we went in and ordered from a great menu. it came out quickly and, much to our surprise, the quality was amazing. I highly recommend this place as a great alternative to 'plastic' burgers

Looking for real food amongst the burgers and fry-ups whilst waiting for your Eurotunnel crossing at Folkestone? Head to the Leon sign! Excellent breakfast alternatives including a very respectable porridge! The coffee was damn fine too.

I'm not a fan of fast food restaurants and rarely would consider reviewing them as in my opinion they are what they are, a quick way to eat something which is mostly instantly forgettable. However I'm pleasantly surprised about the Leon fast food restaurant at the eurotunnel in Folkestone. Not only was the service great, the waitress was so cheery and helpful, but the food was delicious and healthy (ignore the side order of fries). This is definitely somewhere I'd go to again (and again) to eat great fast food without the guilt.

Quick Pit stop before another delay at Euro tunnel.( Electricity ran out before departing) But first visit to Leon. Choice of Burger King or Leon. So glad we chose Leon as the food was fresh fast and immensely tasty. Staff were happy and def secured another visit from us!!!

We popped in here on way to France , we wee taken a back that a snack bar had these hot boxes with fresh food, a bit like Pret a manger . This place deserves good reviews the food was fresh, hot, attractive and good for you. Service was excellent because we were at a quiet time. Nice friendly service .The price point at £6.50 ish for a hot box was about right , if they dropped to £5.99 they would sell more. All good .

15 trips since May. Either closed, no food at all, just chicken burger, no electric and tonight no rice in essentially what is a rice box restaurant

Since Pret a manger closed at Eurotunnel we tended to bring our own sandwiches & then grab an average coffee at the terminal.But with Leon it is a continuing trat and the coffee is very good.Could do with a better veggie selection but what we have is very enjoyable.It is now as I titled "A treat before the crossing"Great after the long drive from Manchester!

We arrived just as the menu changed from breakfast to lunch. That was a shame since their equivalent of bacon rolls are very tasty.I would have rated better than average if the chicken burgers weren't a little moist (pink) inside. It's quality stuff but not cheap. It's definitely better than the Burger King or KFC offerings at places like this. Very popular and the staff are all friendly.
