Las Iguanas - Brighton in Brighton and Hove

I really don’t get the high reviews on this. The food was extremely poor quality. It was not authentic in any way shape or form. My enchilada arrived heated up hot on one side and cold on the other. It was clear that this was not freshly prepared. Staff seemed friendly enough but not once did someone refill my water which I drank a lot of especially when I’m having dinner. To be fair, they discounted my enchilada by 50% after they replaced it with another one which was also unevenly heated. By the time I got the second one I was in a hurry because I had to catch a train and the whole experience was a nightmare. The main thing is the food is the trash Cheap not fresh and not authentic Mexican food I’ve had in many years. It’s the equivalent of really cheap nasty chain stores we have in America. To be honest, I’d rather eat at Taco Bell. It appears that most people were there for cocktails maybe their cocktails are really good? It’s listed as a five star Mexican restaurant. I wouldn’t even give it a zero.

The food and drink was lovely, the service was also very good. I would liken my experience to a small penguin baby, who's mother had been into the icy waters to carry enough food back for her and her family. The joy of the baby penguin when the mummy comes back with enough food and the warmth of her furry feet to protect you from the wintery chill. That is how Chloe made me feel.

I love it here so much, the bottomless brunch is sooooooo worth it, the food was so lovely and our waiter was so kind, definitely coming back!!!

First time visiting, we came for a birthday meal for my daughters 18th, we had masks and head pieces to wear balloons on rhe table. The food was excellent and the staff explained the different items on the menu and spice levels, the drinks were lush, my daughter had cocktails and the rest of us had mocktails, they were all amazing!! Will definitely be returning!!

Great bar-restaurant! At Las Iguanas, the two-for-one cocktail deal is real, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The cocktails are well made. Highly recommend!

Can’t go wrong with Las Iguanas!!!! A favourite of mine, this vibey and colourful restaurant with a great atmosphere and an amazing service, never fails to deliver great tastes to the table (from my own experiences).The cocktails are worth exploring and the food is always flavourful. We just had the crispy cauliflower and the calamari as a “snack” and we all loved it :)
