Would never dine here again… had the worst experience ever at this buffet how can you call yourself a buffet but don’t have any food out? Not just me but multiple other customers waiting with plates in our hands for food that’s not there surely as a buffet you would expect it to be constantly topped up unfortunately this was not the case as not just myself but many other people were asking and complaining about the same issue… This message is directly for the waiter IMRAN I just want to say if you stand there with a dog face on whenever someone asks your for something and then walk away ignorantly without giving a response then maybe you should evaluate whether you are in the right job or not. I had asked 3 times to Imran about the food and each time he looked at me and gave me a dirty facial expression and then proceeded to walk away how rude! I will never be coming back here again and I don’t recommend anyone else coming here either so long as the customer service is atrocious here you will keep losing customers. Please avoid this place at all costs.

Visited with friends for who are regulars but for me it was my first time to this eatery. We arrived early at around 5.30 and the buffet was ready. The food selection smaller than most buffet but wide selection of starters from Fish to veg options. My favourite was lamb chops and chicken wings the marination was very absorbed into the meat. The mains tasted nice it had chicken korma which was yellow in texture. I liked their veg option options bindi ie okra and Dahl. For breads they had naan which actually were a let down they were thick and a little undercooked, roti was nice. For desert there was custard cake, sweet rice, selection of ice cream and vermicelli. The seating area is long shaped area quite small compared buffet restaurants. The ambiance was quite near simple tables and decors. Service. The waiting staff at the tables were friendly and fast at bringing drinks etc. however the replenishment staff were slow quite we had to ask ask a few times to replace finished items. All in all not bad l, was authentic, and not overly oily either which is a bonus.

Been enjoying Lanika for a few years now. It’s unassuming and humble, but warm and friendly. The food is fantastic - and the Tandoori Boti is something else! Staff are helpful and the front man is charismatic and cheerful. Well worth a visit.

Found Lanika, by luck as was working in the area. Staff were so friendly and helpful, explaining dishes and really made me feel welcome. The food was fantastic, as I had never been before and did not know what to have I tried a little of most dishes and wow really great. The desserts, often not great, were again fantastic, with hot desserts and some of the best ice cream I have ever had. The value for money is really good, and I can not recommend these guys enough and will defiantly be back.

Not your. standard buffet. Exceptionally tasting food better than any high end restaurants I've visited. You can pick one dish and get full on that level of flavour. They do takeaways too so you can take home for anytime consumption. Really accommodating guys who help out when I'm hosting events. Well done!

Good banquet great atmosphere just need to be licences to save bringing own wine or beer.. other than that tops

The food at Lanika is fresh and tasty!! However the downside of this restaurant is that the owner stares at the amount of food you put it your plate and how many times you get up to re-fill your plate. I went with a few friends who noticed this behaviour and it made them feel very very uncomfortable. Also when they re-fill the buffet they put a small amount of food, and as its very busy the food runs out quick so you have to wait longer. So they could do with larger portions and quicker service. Unfortunately for this experience, we would rather go somewhere with comfort. What a big shame! Hope owner takes some notice

My son had been here several times with friends, he said he enjoyed it and we should try it. Four of us went, I thought the selection of starters and mains were very good, tandoori lamb chops, pakora, chicken wings etc, A reasonable selection of mains including lamb. The food was hot and fresh, unlimited selection of ice creams with la lot of different flavours. The staff were friendly, plates cleared quickly, would definately go back

We went as a family of 4 and had heard rave reviews about it. It looks impressive from the outside. Only to walk in and see the smallest choice I have ever seen in an Indian buffet. One lamb main and two chicken mains. Honestly it wasn’t even that tasty. It ended up being £80 for 4 of us with no alcohol. Bearing in mind Yorkshire has some exquisite Indian and Pakistani buffets for the same price and they probably have 5 times the choice. Go to Aakaash or Aagrah instead. I won’t be coming back to Lanika.

Food was bland. Not a great choice. Some Staff were grumpy and busy on their mobile phones. Overpriced for what they offer in their buffet.

Went last night with the family for the first time in years, booked for half 8 and it was still busy. Staff were friendly and attentive, food was very tasty and offered a wide range. It was also fresh which is nice for a buffet.

Lanika used to be good before the Chinese Bat Flu panicdemic, but has since gone downhill in the name of profit. Firstly, the prices have increased. Considerably. The previous highest weekend price is now the cheapest midweek price. For this, you now get a reduced selection.Most of the food warmers were regularly empty (the place was not exceptionally busy) and when the pots were refilled, there was more runny sauce and less meat - a common truck to maximise profit.Instead of a free jug of water, you now have to buy a 2 litre plastic bottle of imported French water for £1.50. When I asked why, they came up with the usual excuse of "It's the law", "Council/Lawyers/insurance says so", "C*vid", etc... This is NOT true and I don't like being treated like an idiot. The government's own website says that fresh water must be in receptacles which can be sterilised in a dishwasher and refilled from a specific, isolated source with available sanitisation (a tap in the kitchen accessible only by the staff fulfills this requirement). Besides, other restaurants still give free tap water and they haven't been closed down... Lanika are doing this to make a profit - the law only says free water must be given if the restaurant sells alcohol, which they don't, so they are legally allowed to charge for water if they wish - they don't have to. This is not a good way to impress your customers. On top of this, when I was given the bottle of water which I had to pay for, the seal was broken and the water was room temperature, suggesting it had been filled from the tap anyway. When I complained, I was given another bottle "from the same crate", which has an intact seal, but strangely, was chilled...Poor service, Lanika. You've priced yourself out of the competition and your service leaves a lot to be desired...

To say poor management would be an understatement. I booked Lanika as the venue for my wedding. They showed me stunning pictures of deco and stage set up prior to booking, but then on the day of my wedding I was shocked to the core to see a dirty stage and messy, disarrayed decorations. The stage room looked nothing like the pictures they had shown me. It was worse than anything I had seen because it seemed like the place had already been used and they hadn’t cleaned up. I was utterly disappointed! I wouldn’t even give this place 1 star but I’ll leave it be for the only positive thing I heard from guests was that the sweet rice was nice.

Wow as soon as i came to this please and tried their food i was gobsmacked. Literally the variety of food theres so many different items and its jus so delicious. I cudnt fault anything. We loved it and keep coming back for more. This is a cannot miss place!

Having moved out of Calderdale, it has been a couple of years since I last visited Lanika's.I booked for my daughter's birthday and there were 16 of us. The restaurant was exceptionally busy, even at 6pm on a Saturday evening, and the food and service was just as good as it always has been. Proper Asian curries, not the amended versions to cater for the masses, the food is unbelievably good. As All You Can Eat buffets go, this is the best. You won't find dozens of dishes cooked to average but around 7 starters and 7 main course dishes, all cooked with individual flavours and consistency. There are 2 or 3 traditional Asian desserts to choose from and a selection of ice cream which is a massive favourite with kids, who are encouraged to go back for more.The food is underpinned by helpful, pleasant staff who keep the food flowing and tables clear. I now live in Wakefield but will not hesitate to travel over to sample the food again, very soon!

Personally I`m not a fan of buffet type restaurants but we didn't know that when we decide to visit. The clientele was mostly Asian families so the food must be OK. I thought the food was average. I think you can bring your own alcohol. Nice to try somewhere different.

1st time ever going as I live in Bradford. So new experience to see a full restaurant and all the buffet food you can eat. It's been a long time to have some brilliant Indian food.

Good choice of dished even several vegetarian ones, too much choice really so too easy to eat too much and spoil it. Starters, mains and desserts plus salad bar and ice cream too. Staff very good, there when you need them but stay out of your way till you do. If you try one thing you must try the fish pakoras, scrumptious.

This is my second time here and I love it! The food is spot on amazing!!! So much choice! And fantastic flavours! Honestly can’t sing this places praises enough it’s just great!!

Very nice good selection of starters curries were ok but all well cooked . Salad bar is good too ...unlicensed so you if you dont want soft drinks you have to take your own alcohol

I would like to thank lanika restaurant for providing us with one of the best buffet foods we’ve ever tasted . Loved all the food starters ,main and afters. Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Five star and highly recommend it. Than you again and you will see us again

Visited with family with our youngest who is 3 yrs old, and whilst she drank out of the cheap glass, it snapped in her mouth...we let management knw to what they Just said,"it never happened before" they didnt ask if my youngest was ok or if she needed medical attention their behavior was diabolical...they just walked off...never again will we visit that resteraunt no health and safety or first aid in place disgusting!!

Despite all the fancy pictures of hosting events that Lanika uploads on their Facebook page in most cases it’s really and truly far from that!!

Food had more oil than saudia Arabia asked for a drink came after 20 minutes told the manager about the amount of oil in the food he wasn’t interested. Not happy at all will not go again 😒😒😒

i wasnt impressed with the staff one young boy was very rude whilst picking my toddler up off the floor. that spoilt it for me as its obvious there is nothing i can do untill i have picked my baby up off the floor. minimum of 2 seconds waiting time for me to do that. so for that reason i wouldnt go back as i dislike being spoken "AT" like that when i am a paying customer

went with family , very easy to get space around 19:00 hrs , later become more busier , very good service , food was fresh and plenty . chops , paya . pizza were good and fresh.

Service was prompt and we were seated to a table of six. Food a bit spicy but from the faces of other tables and...our table were smiling and enjoying. No small bowls were kept for the dessert so had to look and ask around. Good staple Indian dishes nothing spectacular.

This is the best buffet I have had, the staff were very compliable after a little misunderstanding. Most importantly the food was just absolutely amazing. I hope they keep the price the same and the quality of food because this number 1.

Visited Lanika Restaurant with some friends for the first time tonight. All you can eat buffet, choice was fantastic, food was really well cooked and delicious and great value for £12.99. Will definately be returning. Staff were really friendly, overall a really enjoyable evening out.

So it's mother's day and thought we will visit this buffet place. Arrive 30 mins after it opens and get told by the gentleman at the desk, that have you booked a table, we are booked.. I'm like tables are empty and I've just drove 45 mins to get here. Asks us to wait in lobby and the 5 mins later takes us to a table. Nothing about what to do and what's what etc. Some starters where fresh others heated from last night, not a great deal of dishes compared to other buffet places around North West. As there was not many people and not busy plates got picked up regularly. I was told they sold "PAYE" Goats feet, couldn't find them so asked the manager who was lounging on the coach and on his phone,asked why no PAYE said they sold out advised not possible as you opened at 4 and I was here 4.30, then he said they sold out as been busy over few days, advised its a Buffet should be made daily basis, then cheek on this goes what if I told you someone came in at 4.15 and took them all, advised no need to make excuses now and it's simple you don't have them. Asked why no cake and custard, was told finished. The guy had no proper reason but just finished... I've been to other buffet restaurants and never had to ask about an item, asked why no cheesecake also finished. I put chicken rice in for kids 1st and they was hard and different colour and when and I had them 20 mins later was fresh. Chicken on bone was not cooked properly as showed the waiter it was red inside and bit of blood. Desert limited for kids. No jelly apart from ice cream.

Buffets aren’t usually great but this one as really good and great service from the family too. It’s great for large groups of people too.

Avoid at all costs absolutely digusting food. The food was stale as if it was from the night before. The customer service, was absolutely rubbish. One of the workers walks around like his dad owns the place, stands over customers head whilst they are eating. The only thing I enjoyed was my coke drink

Travelled to Halifax, well thought we were going to Bradford. It's a buffet style arrangement with everything tried being superb and tasty. No alcohol is served but you can bring your own. Well worth the visit and I will return.

Having visited last week all I can say is it was fantastic. We took my father and mother( both seasond curry house/ restaurant experts)! The service was second to none, the atmosphere was great and the food just spoke for itself. My father usually finds something to nit pic at but to my surprise couldn't fault anything, actually going on to say it's one of the best buffet's he's been to, both in Halifax and Bradford, and will be going from now on at least once a month. £48 for four of us. I think that's great value considering the quality of food we had. Bravo to the management, you have it just right and we'll be seeing you again really soon.

Called to Lanika last Sunday with my partner and the kids for the buffet. The restaurant was very busy, obviously a testament to how good the food is! The starters were beautiful, and the curries were also really nice, although there wasn't much of a selection.

Arrived at Lanikas with my partner and friends, we all agreed that the dining experience was a very agreeable one. The staff were attentive and helpful and obviously very proud of their restaurant. The food was excellent, the lamb chops were delicious, as were all the starters, choice very varied, again excellent quality across the board. Went on a Thursday night, place was nicely busy. The food was leagues ahead of the usual buffet fare you often find in similar establishments.Our first visit but most definitely won't be the last. Go you if you like Indian/ Pakistani food, you won't be disappointed.

This place has massively gone down hill since Babbar Khan left. The food is disgusting and the range of curries is diabolical! There’s no damn taste on the food anymore. Cheap ingredients, cheap fish, cheap everything! I was absolutely disgusted - cheap and tacky - not for me.

Can’t believe it’s been open 5 years and never heard of it. All the food in terms of quality was top notch; curries are amazing, very authentic. Starter meat choices were good but bit bland. Curries and everything else more than made up for it though. Best buffet I’ve seen in a long long time

Couldn't decide what to have for tea so called in for first time today, lovely place, very clean, nice friendly staff, the food was amazing, fabulous choice of starters, the lamb chops and onion bajee were spot on, great selection of mains including some very nice vegetarian dishes, didn't have pudding but again looked very nice. Very reasonable price and we will certainly be back.

Booked Lanika's for a wedding reception for 110 guests. The plus points are that the food was tasty and the venue was decorated well - the stage in particular looked good. Unfortunately a few things let us down on the day - not all guests recieved all dishes which isn't great at all, considering we paid for the menu. The food was coming out far too quickly so the service felt rushed. The plates were not changed in between courses. We expected 110 guests but only 100 places were laid out. It's a shame as the venue and food were good. If booking for a similar function, it would be wise to check the layout of tables and insist on slower service and more waiting staff!

Cheap buffet and very tasty food, not a big selection on the desserts or mains but the starters are amazing especially the lamb chops. Only down bit is we booked for 18 and had to sit separately they could only accommodate for 14 together. But with all that being said I’d go back again!

We were going to order a takeaway from our local curry shop but decided to go here instead. Great selection of meat dishes, lamb especially good. No waiting for food to arrive as buffet, serve yourself, eat as much as you like. You can tell the food is very good as lots of Asian people come here to eat, which is always the sign of a good curry restaurant

a table was booked for 8pm for over 8 weeks, for a group of 20 people for a friends retirement .

Came again last night, been at least 4 years but food still very good, 3 choices of vegetarian so very pleased. We had the buffet which we like because you can get just what you want. Staff were attentive, bringing fresh water and clearing plates regularly, nice young men. Children under 4 years old free so very nice, high chairs and they allowed us to bring the pram for the baby inside by our table. Rice very very delicious.Fish pakoras also.

Filled regularly so not waiting for too long. Lamb chops and chicken tikka were worth going back for 2nds or even 3rds. The mushroom bhuna and lamb karahi were lovely and the ice cream counter had too much selection - i opted for mango. Good value and great for children of all ages.

Visited for a dinner with two friends. This restaurant offers buffet at reasonably good price and the service is good enough too. The only downside is they don't accept card payments like so many of their other competitors.

Went with two friends and it was a nice place, good service, reasonably priced buffet. The food was Asian (Indian/Pakistani), which is spicy as expected. Limited dessert choices, but great ice cream treat is included. I would probably go again.

Food was delicious and staff were lovely. The experience was ruined by lots of children running around and making lots of noise. Not the restaurants fault though as staff did try and get parents to stop their children running around, so I blame the parents!

We have just visited Lanikas for the first time after a recommendation from a colleague at work.

There are lots of different starters, mains and desserts to choose from. All of the food we tried was delicious. The kids stuck to rice, chips and a couple of onion bhajis (and ice cream of course), so they were happy. It's good you can BYO alcohol. Overall I thought it was excellent value and we'd come again. The staff were all very efficient and friendly.

Having meant to visit Lanika for many months we stopped off for an early Friday evening meal.

We go to Lanikas regularly as there is a good selection to choose from and the food is always good. The staff are great and always chat to us. There are plenty of starters to choose as well as a fresh salad bar. We tend to fill up on them as they are so good. There are normally 5 to 6 curries to choose from and the keema one is my favourite. There is also an ice cream bar which my husband enjoys. For a buffet this is really good.

Visited as a party of 5...4 adults one child... the buffet choice is very good all of food is of very high standard which is a nice surprise for a indian buffet... good choice of starters again all top notch..my fav was the lamb chops ... all currys were lovely and there was nothing that disapointed us... one diner is coeliac requires a gluten free option which usually at a buffet is a big NO NO but at lanika this doesnt seem a problem to the delight of my partner... very clued up on the allergy talked her through exactly what she could and couldnt eat at the buffet ... all the staff were friendly and gave great service throught our meal... excellent and we will defo be visiting again

Extremely disappointed with the arrangements for my wedding. I booked the venue in July and the whole set up of the place was nothing like how I had seen it prior to the wedding, no proper arrangements were made. The stage was dirty from when I arrived, to the furniture being worn out and not the one of choice to begin with. It seemed the manager set off on a trip two weeks prior to the wedding date and nothing was forwarded to the team left behind. They did not set up the head table properly. I guess the workers didn't quite grasp the concept of a "head table" which should be near the stage not at the back of the room where it was barely visible. This made the guest book pointless to have! Just a compete shambles! Not professional and not organised. I would NEVER recommend this place for an important event like a wedding. The team should feel ashamed to have ruined my wedding day. You pay for a service and you expect that. It's very upsetting.

Brilliant selection of tasty food I’m more for the starters than the curry’s, I love the fish and the lamb it’s to die for bit of mint sauce and it’s amazing staff always on the ball kids love the ice cream and take your own alcohol should you want to do cannot grumble my only criticism is they don’t do still mango lol and that’s about it good little place

Fab food. Lots to choose from with plenty of variety and various heat. The starters were very good, with an good selection of meat and vegetarian. Main courses the same, good variety and quality. Very tasty, with a good selection of salads and breads to go with your meal.

Our first time here as a family and I don't know why we put off coming here for so long. Top food, really good variety in the buffet which was reasonably priced - all the popular food items and a nice choice for the kids too.

Honestly, one of, if not the best curries I've ever had! Everything had so much flavour, the staff were excellent and very efficient, the price was great; £10.95 for an all you can eat buffet! Couldn't pick fault with here if I tried! Would highly recommend 11/10!

If you enjoy Indian food then this "all you can eat" establishment should be a regular destination for you.This large restaurant has plenty of choice of dishes and you can tell they are made with fresh ingredients.Highlights are the starters; especially the lamb chops and dessert choice including the sweet rice and wide selection of ice cream.Excellent value at £10.99 per person during the week. Slightly more expensive at weekends. Top tip - doesn't serve alcohol but does allow you to take your own. In summary - excellent value tasty food.

Went there for a family dinner. The food was fresh and delicious. Enjoyed everything. It was a worth driving to Halifax from Bradford. I think it is best buffet at this price. Starter were best. The quality Ice cream was a treat for children. Staff was friendly though very busy. I think they need at least one or two more people to provide top class service. It was so good that I decided to write about it. I would highly recommend.

Had a return visit to the Lanika, we live near Chester so out of the area, but found myself no too far away with work, so myself & three colleagues went for the Friday evening Buffet, we were very impressed with the variety of food & the quality, nice & fresh, the staff are very polite & attentive, highly recommended, looking forward to my next visit.

First visit on a recommendation. Superb starters, good mains, a nice well decored place and friendly staff make for a great experience. Often you visit a buffet and the choice might be lacking or the food is inconsistent in quality. What you have here is an all round performer. The ice cream counter is a nice little addition too. Will definitely re-visit.

This was our fifth visit, and the standard has been high every time. It's a buffet, so if things are running low, either moan about it on Trip Adviser as some seem to do, or mention it to the chefs and they're out in a flash with a new batch of delicious fish pakora, or the fantastic spicy lamb chops, or whatever. The only downside is that it's all so tasty, so it's tempting to be greedy and mix everything up on your plate. Resist. Just go for a starter and a main, and maybe a side of mushrooms and daal and salad and... see what I mean? Expect the place to be full of locals later on, who know what Asian food should taste like and find it here. The puds are the real thing too, or there's (good) icecream if that's your preference. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I've now been 7 times to this establishment with family and friends and the food has always been spot on. On odd occasions I had to wait for them to top up the starter dishes but I didn't mind as I knew they were freshly prepared. Always a warm and welcoming place. Not too big so book in advance!

First time to Lanika, we walked in around 9pm. Staff were very polite and helpful the decor was nice and i would definitely recommend it as a family restaurant.However i wasn't too happy about the starters. The starters were old and chewy. I did mention this to the waiter who promptly got us some fresh lamb chops which were on another level compared to what we got first.Mains: i stayed away from the rice dishes as again looked old/dry etc... the Paya (trotters) and lamb kharai was delicious.. really saucy and tasty..Sweet dishes: ice cream was same as any other buffet place.... i did like the mederia cake with custard was something different! ! I had 3 plates actually .Overall my experience was 50/50 good staff with nice environment. However i feel next time will have to come either when they're busy for fresh food or when the buffet starts. As they wasnt too busy on a Friday night at 9pm.
