Lakeside View Pub in Mole Valley

Clearly not been open for ages, but everything online says it is. Waste of time.

Just visited lake view pub in Henfold lakes . Was quite excited looking at the menu and the view, however highly disappointed when entering!! 1st impressions were very disappointing. Looks like a put together cafe made from freebies off gumtree. Dodgy looking sofas , dead plants and a bin full of rubbish right next to the smearing areas. Tables sticky and very dismal. I took my grandson for lunch and ordered him chicken nuggets which were ok although the bowl they were served in wasn’t very clean. I ordered ham and cheese toastie which was horrible!! The ham wax off the bone which should have been lovely, although it was full of fat and no meat. I had a black hair stuck to my cucumber which made me feel very sick . I took up to the server at the bar and he just took it from me, no apology NOTHInG . Not cheap either, so won’t be coming back here ever again. Obviously the owners don’t give a good about the place otherwise they would make sure it’s clean and tidy and their staff look after their customers . 🤮🤮

Excellent food. We had vegetable lasagna , fish and chips and lamp kebab . All was great, the friendly service made it more enjoyable. Great view by the lake as well. Thank you.

Waited 20 min to get a drink as the lady behind bar had no idea what she was doing, not sure if she was new but she was definitely slow. I was served a drink in a glass full of dust and grease so asked to have another glass. Ordered a sirloin steak for me and my son but when it arrived realised it wasn't sirloin but a cheap cut of meat, we asked for medium and medium rare but both were chewie and hard, beyond well done. We asked for burger instead and that was edible but overall shocking. We've been there before and had no problem with the service or the food so not sure what's happened. Won't go there again I'm afraid.

£3 for a plane point of lemonade

Had a very enjoyable off the cuff visit on Saturday. We live just down the road and have never visited for some reason. We were seated outside on the decking and were served very quickly by a lovely , polite gentleman ( thing he is the owner or manager). He was very accommodating throughout our visit . Menu is extensive with a good range , from Sandwiches, small plates to full meals . Sandwiches and jackets we ordered were fresh and tasty. Not many pubs where you can get a decent priced , value for money sandwich these days . Fish and chips and burgers were excellent and a very generous size . Deserts were excellent. Unfortunately they weren't serving the all day breakfast items which were on the menu . Good range of drinks available . Excellent setting next to the lake with plenty of space for the kids to play . Staff were polite , but there only seemed to be one lady bringing food out . Was fairly quiet on our visit so didn't affect us . My only criticism would be the inside area which didn't look particularly comfortable and there was an area which seemed to be being used for storage. Overall we had a pleasurable experience and will be returning.

Booked a table but was told when arrived they couldn’t accommodate us, later found a large group had just rolled up and we’re served when I asked he said his partner was to tired to cook! Next day had the same man snear at me when we asked if we should book or just turn up, very rude and dismissive, lucky they have no competition in the area or they would be very quiet. I’d rather spend my Money elsewhere

Been to this place quite a few times now, good food, great choice. We always pop into the pub when talking the caravan at the lakes, mother in law usually fussy but she likes the food here. Staff are great nothing is to much trouble, good seating area on the covered veranda, watching the fisherman catching fish and the herons as well. They also have live music every now and then. Plenty of parking as well.

Quite disappointed to be honest, We came here for a Father’s Day lunch today 19/06/2022 The food was ok, good portion sizes but the overall cleanliness was disgusting. We were sat in a corner where there were dirty brown curtains dead flies all over the window seal which really wasn’t very nice while you are having to look that way and eat and boxes upon boxes of clutter stacked up around us, which really should be stored away as look unsightly The workers didn’t seem very happy and not very welcoming. I’m sorry to say we won’t be returning.

I must admit we only had a drink here, but the new girl as she said was very friendly and courteous. Fabulous location beside the lake and very clean with a lovely deck to chill out on.

First time visiting Lakeside and have to say I wasn't disappointed. I had the vegetarian burger which was amazing and full of flavour. The staff were also very helpful and im looking forward to returning to try something else off the menu.

I arranged for a party of 18, family and partners, to get together, with the manager, who was very helpful. Unfortunately, a few had to drop out due to covid, but all of the remaining 12 people had a wonderful lunch with dessert to die for. The food was really, really good. We will definitely be making at least one date in the spring, if not before, to do it again. We all agreed it was the perfect venue for us all with excellent service from the manager and staff. Thank you so much Greg and the kitchen staff for making it such a success.

The atmosphere is very friendly, perfect for families and pets.

I went there for some chip and I got barely nothing the food is not that nice and paid 2.50 for nothing

Excellent chicken curry. Greg did a made-to-order Bombay Aloo for me, rounded off with rice, poppadom and chutney. Wonderful home made dish. Far better than any pub curries. Well done!

I ordered a chicken caesar salad. I received deep fried breaded chicken pieces on an over dressed soggy salad. Nice view and good coffee.

Good friendly place, with a good menu and affordable prices.

The lakeside view was amazing, seating areas both inside & outside. People fishing, kids playing, literally looks idyllic. Food was lip smacking, courteous & prompt staff, will surely go back and will recommend to friends. I ate the veg lasagne. Portion was pretty filling for one person.

Fantastic food and staff and owners beer cold and facilities super clean we are regulars there and feel very welcome would highly recommend

We were not sure if the place was open. It was and we went for an impromptu lunch. We took my Mother-in-Law who needs a wheelchair and the staff could not have been more helpful. We chose sandwiches and nachos, with coffee. All excellent and served with a smile. A look at the menu, surroundings and location means we will be back, to sample the menu more extensively and maybe some wine this time. Only down side was being attacked by the geese protecting their babies (not really - just part of the fun!)

Came for a walk and then stopped here for lunch. Was lovely sunny day so sitting outside was no problem. Food was delicious and good size portion. Nicely presented too. Great service. Definitely plan to come back ! Inside looked good too - currently not allowed to sit inside but did use the loo which was really clean.

Four of us visited Henfold Lakes for a breezy late morning walk last Sunday, intending to stop off for a coffee in the lovely restaurant overlooking one of the lakes. But as soon as we entered and felt the warm atmosphere from the cosy wood burner and then after seeing the menu, we all decided that brunch it was! Three of us had a full English breakfast, with one having eggs on toast. All of the food was delicious, hot and cooked extremely well. In fact we ate so much, another lap around the scenic lakes was called for! Would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant and we will certainty be back.

This is a really nice pub and the food was really really good. Friendly staff and all in all perfect either dor lunch or also just for something to drink. Only they do not have guinness 🤔

Had breakfast here. Even though a grey damp day we still sat outside on their veranda. The food was excellent. Full English, plates were warm, food was piping hot & delicious. Beautiful setting despite the weather. Relaxed atmosphere but most of all the service was first class, friendly & professional. Thank you Molly.

Staying on the caravan park and went for a spontaneous Sunday lunch. Wonderful traditional beef roast. Everything there and all beautifully cooked and presented can’t recommend enough. Have also used for takeaway service to eat in the Caravan. Lasagne is superb but whole menu is great. Brie wedges make a magic lunch bite.

Came for Saturday evening meal. Wasn’t disappointed at all. Lovely ribs. Lovely setting too! Seems a little known place which is a shame as has great potential and must be lovely on a summer’s evening!

After driving past many time I decided to investigate and boy I’m glad I did. Went for a full English in a lovely log building looking over the lake. The country was in flood but it still looked amazing and the lady in the cafe was there to serve and so friendly. I would have had a photo of my food but I never put my weapons down long enough to take a photo. Can’t wait to go back in summer. The lake looks beautiful. Thanks for a full belly today

Fabulous place, beautiful views, friendly workers and wonderful food only downfall is they didn't have New Zealand sauvignon but hopefully the next time I go they will (however this wasn't a major catastrophe as I still drank what they had)All in all I have to say its definitely one of the best places to visit.

Went to a wedding there recently. My wife went to the bar and order a J20 & pint of Peroni. These came to £5.10 which we thought was brilliant. I went up an hour later to find that the same 2 items were now £7.00. They had stopped using the till and for some reason started adding everything up on a calculator. The fact that even when you questioned the price he just turned around and walked away. A handful of people at the wedding also told me that prices had changed throughout the night. The venue itself looking fantastic but they BS at the bar with prices changing was enough to tell me not to come back here

I was hoping for more of a lakeside restaurant, it is near a lake but in the summer it feels more like a caravan park, probably better off season. The drinks are reasonably priced but don't buy the ice-cream £3.50 for 3 small scoops of mediocre ice-cream in a plastic bowl seemed very over priced to me.

Very clean lovely food and great views. Peaceful and watch people fishing

When you ask for a spirit. They serve you a double if you don't ask for a single. Meaning legally you might be over the limit to drive. When I pulled the guy on our bill and the fact he served us doubles. His reply was well you didn't ask for singles. Well I didn't blooming ask for doubles either. On top of the fact the food was mediocre at best and overpriced they are lucky to get the stars I gave them. Could be an amazing venue if run by the right person.

Staff are very welcoming, and the food tasted great and came on time. The location is beautiful and peaceful as well, so overall an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

I went there for a visit with some friends to spend the afternoon and we had a really lovely time! The staff were so friendly and the location is just stunning, it’s great for if you want to escape from the city life for a little bit. Would definitely recommend if anyone wants good food, with good service in a beautiful location!

I used to love this place and in fact wrote a previous review saying how good it was. Service not good. We were the only diners and had to wait ages to be served. Things on the special board not available and when pressed was told they had run out during the day. Rub it off the board then. I only visited because parents were camping but i definitely wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

Not the best breakfast experience. We had a very long wait for our food. They had no decaffeinated coffee, no mushrooms,no vegetarian sausages and were unable to make toast. It's a pretty location,but not pretty enough to tempt us to go back.

Came here on a rainy Friday evening with some family. Enjoyed a lovely dinner, good choice and well presented. Staff very welcoming and friendly.

A very well kept secret- I have lived a few miles away for 38 years and never knew these lakes were here. Three friends, we had various breakfasts and a couple of cups of tea each. It was warm enough to sit outside on the veranda overlooking the peaceful lake. Lots of bird song and flocks of geese and goslings scurrying about.

Came here with my brother and friend for breakfast, the place looks really nice and is set next to a lake near a camp site. The service and food was very nice, we had to keep our jackets on as it was a bit cold inside. I ordered the veg breakfast which was very nice however when I received it I asked where my veg sausage was only to find out they didn’t have any, good job I wasn’t vegetarian. However they gave me regular sausage and extra egg which I decided to have. Not keen on the coffee though but it was drinkable, would come again on a warmer day and sit on the lovely terrace outside or even try there Sunday roasts.

We used to visit this site regularly before the disastrous fire that destroyed the old premises. For a long time we'd go back to see if it had been rebuilt but kept seeing the burnt out shell. Then we heard from a friend there was once again a restaurant there and came to try it. Different, bigger and smarter than the old premises and no longer the "All day breakfast" type of place. There is a good lunch and dinner menu and a well stocked bar. Friendly staff and good service. They got our order slightly wrong between bar and kitchen, but the alternatives that came out were excellent and had we known beforehand we'd have probably ordered those! Lovely position opposite the lakes, though the driveway could do with some TLC to fill the potholes. Shame they don't allow well behaved dogs inside, but understand why not. We will return now we know it's open again.

We visited for a light breakfast after a dog walk as our usual cafe at Tan House farm was closed. The restaurant is very clean and well furnished and the setting next to the lake is stunning. We all ordered sandwiches (sausage or bacon) which arrived promptly and were fine. Prices were good. The only disappointment was the coffee which was from a basic push-button machine. If they invest in a decent coffee maker I would certainly visit again, but for the time being will probably stick to Tan House farm cafe as the coffee is so much better there.

Fantastic setting and has the potential to be amazing but they are a way off at the moment. Sadly lacking in atmosphere and ambience. Pleasant but inattentive waitress. We went for breakfast on a freezing cold day and the tiny log burner was not lit. Instead there were lots of little electric fans everywhere? Odd choice of interior decoration with dated 80's pop pictures on the wall. Food was on the whole good. They had no vegetarian sausages and offered a veggie burger which would have been an odd choice for breakfast, as a vegetarian it would put me off going again. Also one pot of beans to be shared between three. All these things could be easily remedied. It is a beautiful setting and with a bit of thought it could be a great success.

We used to go there before the fire, and we loved it. After the new build we thought we will go there again one evening for an evening meal. 8.30 pm on a Tuesday evening.

Visited this pub a few months ago for dinner with a friend, the building itself is beautiful and there is a great view of the lake, especially sitting outside. I ate the veggie burger which was super tasty, I was informed by the waitress that they are made in-situ using the chefs own recipe. Overall the staff were v nice, its a great location and and the food is delicious.

Great cosy log cabin pub, with a modern interior, a lot of space and friendly staff. Food is delightful especially the classic food you would expect at a pub. Plus some unique options. Good portions too big for my little tummy but who would complain? Wen everyone love to share what they eat.

Just had dinner at the restaurant, we won’t be eating here again. Chicken and bacon pie, swimming in oil, a rock hard pastry disc on top, I asked for gravy, it was not edible, full of gloopy lumps and a ton of salt, and the whole meal absolutely covered in black pepper, I don’t like pepper, why would the chef decide that I did!!

Good food and friendly staff. Definitely needs more advertising such as Facebook, Twittter or local newspaper reviews. A trickle of customers which will hopefully pick up in the future.

Newly opened, i took my mum and dad here as they were camping on-site and it was her birthday. All dishes were amazing. Great prices and customer service wonderful. We Will be back to try the sunday lunch.
