Upon entering, the restaurant fails to make a favorable impression. Ok from the outside resembles a run-down resort from the inner, featuring mismatched furniture sourced from car boot sales, propped up by tables with napkins. The food, though passable, falls short of justifying its price point. For £50, expect three potatoes, a few chorizo pieces, and four small pork belly portions. To leave sufficiently satisfied, be ready to splurge at least £100 for two. The service mirrors the overall mediocrity, requiring patrons to actively flag down staff for dessert cutlery or drinks. This establishment is not ideal for special occasions or those seeking a balance of good food and reasonable prices.

We came for an early new year meal out. Food was ok but nothing exciting, we chose a good selection of the menu and were advised that it would come out when ready which was fine for our dining style in no rush. It took an hour to get our final serving of potatoes. We enjoyed our quiet meal together but unsure if we would try it again.

Ok, firstly the food. All the savoury dishes we ordered were tasty, served quickly and hot and were very enjoyable. But … some of them we thought were quite small and, consequently, overpriced. When we asked to see the dessert menu we were told they didn’t have one but that they did offer two choices. The one we chose was a minute portion and rather underwhelming. The biggest issue we felt was the young waitresses’ lack of knowledge about the menu when we enquired about the various dishes. Plus when our desserts arrived we were left without cutlery and had to go and ask for some. No one person seemed to be coordinating the dining room. Perhaps these seem rather minor quibbles but our overall dining experience was affected by them. One expects the service to flow and be professional throughout but the lack of experience amongst the young waitresses prevented this from happening. Such a pity because the tapas dishes were good. The bottom line is that there are much better restaurants in Skipton so, sadly, we won’t be dining there again.

Oh my word!!!!! Where to even start?! The food was absolute heaven and was bursting with flavour! So much so....I ordered a 2nd helping of the gambas!!!! Perfectly cooked, juicy plump prawns that were oh so fresh! The chorizo in red wine with honey was so succulent and again.....so flavourful! Everyone on my table was raving about their choices, and we just can't wait to come back! A total gem of a place and a much needed boost of quality food that Skipton desperately craved. Would love to see a more developed cocktail menu. Maybe a signature cocktail....like a Spanish take on a French martini....using Licor 43 (a stunning Spanish liqueur)

A very good Tapas restaurant, there is a very good range on offer, and everything we has was delicious! The staff were all lovely and friendly. The food wasn’t rushed and just kept turning up at a reasonable pace. On one mixed plate there were some really nice and different picked onion slices, I mentioned it to the young lady serving us and she got the recipe for me from the chef! Be careful on the stairs! Rude chef who shouts over waiting staff and at customers. They won’t be seeing my money. Went in to try it out. Waitress went to check availability. Chef shouts over her “WE’RE NOT TAKING WALK-INS!!!” Okay.. no worries. Waitress starts to apologise about there being no room. Chef then screams “NO NEED TO APOLOGISE!!!” Very bizarre. When we arrived we were met by Tilly who showed us to a table and explained the menu.Because it is a Spanish tapas restaurant she went through things with us and suggested that we choose two or three dishes each dependent on how hungry you are and you can ask for only two dishes each to be at the table rather than all at once so they retain their heat and freshness. She also gave us a wine list and also beer and soft drinks. We ordered six dishes, all assorted and asked for three dishes at once with a gap of some fifteen minutes until the final three.Tilly was very attentive without her being over the top.She was extremely polite and you had the feeling that she wanted us to enjoy ourselves with the food and surroundings which we most certainly did.We will return and have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and waitress.Thank you.

Went after lots of recommendations, and it lived up to all the hype. We had 2 mains and 1 starter each and 3 puds between us. Very fairly priced, cost us about £25 each which is really good for drinks starter main and pud. Halloumi popcorn 10/10, very tasty! Bread and garlic 8/10, very nice, could be more garlicy though. Cheese croquet 9/10, what a meal, wow. 7/10 fish goujons, tasty but not as good as everything else. Meat balls 7/10, slightly underdone but still very tasty. Goats cheese and butternut-squash 10/10, best thing I’ve put in my mouth ever, wowza. Churos 8/10, fab just sugar got everywhere. White choc parfait 10/10, so good we got another! The food was incredible, we especially loved the ox cheek and pork belly! The croquettes were also fantastic, the best I have had in a long time. We ate here during the August eat out to help out scheme so were very happy with the price, I think otherwise it would have been a little out of our budget. Most tapas restaurants I have visited have advised 2-3 dishes per person whereas La Casita advised us to have 3-4 per person which was the correct portion but obviously meant our glance at the menu to judge the prices beforehand was incorrect.

Came in stages which was not ideal when you've ordered for yourself, however good idea when sharing. Also kitchen very small so fully understand why.Drinks - expensive! Only let down of the night. I had 3 tapas which came to £16.75, however I had 2 glasses of wine at £5.75 each (expected) but the lemonade to top it off was £2.75!!! For each glass. The drinks cost more than the food. Met for family birthdays (2 within 7 days!). Having not been to a tapas bar before, i found this an interesting experience. However, I appreciate that tapas is many small dishes, there seemed to be excessive waits between the delivery of dishes, which meant 6 people 'fighting over' the last dish which was delivered on its own, previous dishes delivered in 2s and 3s so plenty of choice for the diners.Menu sheet as place mat (with pencils on the table) made ordering dishes easiest ever and allowed me doodle too.

I'd been looking forward to my night out here. We'd booked in November for a Christmas night out to take advantage of the early bird Thursday night menu but when we arrived we were told it was no longer running and they'd changed the pricing in early December. We'd have to pay the higher price - like it or lump it. Even though we'd especially chosen that night specifically because we thought it was running. The food was tasty and I enjoyed that, but it did sour the evening. It didn't help either that they put 2 extra bottles of wine we hadn't paid for on the bill - good thing my friends were on the ball. There wasn't much of an apology for that either.A bit of good customer service goes a long way.

We were in the Skipton area for 4 days. We went into La Casita for a very late lunch - this presented no problem. The charming (and pretty) hostess welcomed us, and recommended some of their tapas dishes (more adventurous and better value than the run-of-the-mill - the caramelised belly of pork was fabulous - and generous.) Service was great - not obtrusive, but chatty when we were 'between courses' - time for another exceptional Sangria. We really felt at home, and made sure to book for our last evening in the area.Don't know when we can make the journey next - but heartily recommend to all visitors - and any locals who just may not have tried this place.

I never knew that tapas could be so varied and delicious. We tried this restaurant following a comment from friends. Very friendly and efficient waiting staff greeted us and had us seated in short order. Not having had a full tapas meal before and therefore not knowing what the size/quantity of a main course was, the ordering of the food was a bit challenging. It was suggested that each person select 2 or 3 'mains' and then share. Unfortunately, with each of the four of us having almost totally different tastes in food, ie meat v fish v veggie, that proved to be very difficult. The food, when it did arrive, was very tasty, and the fact that it didn't all suddenly appear at once made for a very intersting experience. The big disadvantage of course is that with ordering so many different, small 'mains' one quickly lost track of just how much one was spending. The meal for 4 people, including one bottle of wine, two bottled beers, three deserts and one coffee, without the tip, was over £170 (£4.20 just for a bottle of sparkling water) making it over £40 per head. A bit on the steep side I reckon.

My friend & I decided to have lunch at this tapas restaurant. The place was virtually empty. We both ordered 2 tapas each. My friends first dish was a chicken dish. As soon as she cut into it you could plainly see that the chicken was pink & inedible. My friend called the waitress over & instead of apologising to my friend she just said that's how chef cooks it! My friend said well I cannot eat it like that, it's undercooked. My first tapas was ok but the second one I ordered said fish with sun dried tomato pesto. When it came it was quite clearly green basil pesto (which I don't like). I called the waitress over & explained that the menu said sun dried tomato & not basil pesto. She went & asked the chef & came back & said chef says there are sun dried tomatoes in it! I may not be a chef but I definitely know the difference between sun dried tomato & basil pesto! There was no apology or a hint of customer care for the pink chicken or the pesto...it was as if they couldn't care less. On top of all that each tapas came out separate so my friend & I were not eating at the same time...bearing in mind we could only eat 1 of our 2 dishes each! Neither of us will ever visit this tapas restaurant again & I urge anyone else not too!!!

Was there with my daughter and wife. For a starter we had a cheese board selection with all the cheeses. Very nice room temperature cheeses. Quince jelly good but portion size was way too small. More like a taster board. Ok for one but not a sharing platter which it was presented to us as - menu doesn't mention sharing. Main course of stew with tapas at 7 quid. Now this was excellent value. Stew was rich and tomatoey with potato and chorizo. I had very tasty (and large) albongidas, daughter the calamari, which she loved. My wife had patatas cerilla (straw fries) which she said were lovely but a bit oily - they hadn't been properly drained. All in all very good with minor faults. Service very good and will go again.

We visited here on a Sunday afternoon for their all you can eat Tapas for £20.00. A party of 11. My rating is overall for the quality of food, which we all thought was really good, the portion sizes about right. What let it down was the waitress service. There was no clarity on arrival how the 'all you can eat' deal worked, asking for a pen appeared to be open for discussion behind the bar. And eventually we were told we had a 90 minute slot to order initially 3 dishes each. The service did improve and we did see some humour and interest in the waitress but previous customers are right the ambiance is wrong, the music too loud and not what you expect from a Spanish venue, we will probably try their other branches in Ilkley because as I have said the chef was turning out some good food

The service was fantastic, I was served by Katie she was extremely attentive and welcoming and knew the menu through and through so was able to recommend dishes. Food came very fast and was delicious would highly recommend the manchego croquettes. I have been here a few times now and the all you can eat on a Sunday is brilliant value. My favourite restaurant in Skipton and very accommodating for big groups

Overpriced and overrated but that is only my humble opinion.

Been here twice as the first time the food was lovely but kitchen up the wall and had to wait 50 mins for first course. But second time all lovely dishes and would go back but before or after busy time

This is a tricky one to comment on. My wife thought it was quite good but I was disappointed . This goes to show that opinions on these pages can vary from person to person -"one man`s meat......"

Met up with friends. Had a nice feel about the place and it was well explained to us about the ordering and how things worked. We were there early so took advantage of the early bird special. The food was very good but some of the dishes were rather small. Good if your just wanting snacks but not if your expecting a meal. Plenty of veggie choices.

I visited La Casita on Saturday with 2 friends, we had a booking for 2pm. Only after ordering our food including cheese and biscuits we were told that the restaurant closed at 2.30! It was really disappointing we didn't have time to finish our cheese and biscuits as we were told by the staff that they needed a break before the evening service!

Had lunch booked in today for 1pm with my friend. We ordered a drink each and six plates to share. The menu was full of tasty sounding dishes, a wide variety of fish/meat/veggie options. Everything we had was delicious. Around 3.30 we asked to order another (soft) drink, we were told “actually, I’m going to have to ask you to leave- we have a busy night tonight with lots of bookings and the staff need a break”. Mmm. I think there were 3-4 tables in whilst we were in there, and 2 members of waiting staff so not sure what they needed a break from. Anyway it just probably could have been worded a bit better. But gorgeous food and I would definitely go back.

Visited as a group of four on a Friday evening. Restaurant was quite busy, and it was as well that we had booked.

This is my second visit to the restaurant, which is set in the lovely corn mill. On the first occasion I took my daughter and we sat upstairs and enjoyed good service, good food and a lovely ambience. On this occasion my partner and I sat downstairs and it was so very different to my previous visit.

I am writing this review a week after ‘eating’ at La casita. I’m still reeling from the experience but have been reluctant to write due to the fact this could be a great place if it wasn’t for staff attitude.

Firstly I’d like to say to the previous reviewer ‘Nigel’.. you get a grip. Saying you will bad mouth a business because of one booking mistake, is not only pathetic but highly immature and I hope people do not use your business based on your attitude. Anyway, we went to La Casita for the first time last night, booked online (and shock horror it worked very well! Even emailed me to confirm it on the day) and arrived for 7. Loved the look of the restaurant, the staff were also very friendly and competent. Food was excellent, really enjoyed every dish and the prices are reasonable. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be returning as soon as possible.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a full restaurant on a cold mid week night in January, and the evening was faultless.... Wonderful venue, delicious food, attentive helpful staff and great value for money. An absolute must for any visit to Skipton.

Really enjoyed first visit to Skipton. Go regularly to Ilkley. We let the staff choose a selection of dishes for us at a very reasonable price per head. The staff were friendly and the food arrived promptly. Really nice meal. Thanks also for letting us nip back at closing to locate a misplaced phone!

Great atmosphere and lovely, tasty food. On what should have been a relatively qiuet Saturday in January, this place was packed! Really tasty amazing tapas and a great selection of dishes. Including a bottle of prosecco and 2 x desserts, the bill was just over £60 for 2 of us. Really well priced AND delicious. You can't go wrong! Definitely will be visiting again.

Came with my friend for a little lunch, then realised how fabulous the menu was and ordered eight dishes between us. We was stuffed but so satisfied with everything we ordered, I could’ve of ordered the whole menu! Katie (the manager) was so attentive, excellent service! She recommend the turkey croquettes which was a hit with both of us. We will definitely be back!!

Lovely staff and a warm welcome. Very accommodating of intolerances and a varied selection on offer if you are gluten free which is rare to see in cafes! Worth a pop in.
