Krispy Kreme in Kirklees

Absolute rip off... an not been funny but greggs donuts are far better at far less price..give this a miss.. just because of the name..dont be fooled

Fundamentally I despise review platforms, as all too often they are used to garner freebies by way of complaint, or the threat of. But I have visited this Krispy Kreme on two separate occasions this week, my children’s choice not mine. And the customer service has been on point. Not sure if it’s the companies policy, or the goodwill of the team working, but on both occasions I have received a ‘freebie’. I get this is probably priced into what they charge, but it’s something that works as a gesture for me. On the second occasion, with two small children running amok and my patience being tested, I asked for and then declined a coffee, the lady then brought over an on the house coffee to help with my frazzled nerves. Other companies take note, this is how you turn a casual customer into a regular, my only disappointment is that I didn’t get the names of the two ladies to properly recognise their efforts with a shout out.

This isn't just a one off experience I've had lately (I know 'why do I keep going back' you ask🤷‍♀️ ). Recently donuts at krispy kreme feel and taste like they are being sold past their best. They used to be soft, plump and delicious (if overpriced). But lately I've noticed they are firmer and drier making me think that the shelf life they have is being pushed. Guess I should know better and just stick to the pastry section at lidl...we all know their donuts are the best!

Was surprised when I took my boys there for a treat a few days ago and had forgotten my bank card but had enough cash in the car to pay for a dozen doughnuts. They don't take cash. My son's were more shocked than me. Apparently money isn't currency in this place. Such a shame as they looked really tasty. Had to give It a 3 for the window shopping but I've dropped 2 stars for the disappointment factor.

Visited yesterday afternoon and the staff were so cheerful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was helpful. It was clean, warm and welcoming.

Poor retail manager, doesn't have a clue what she’s doing in the job. Hence why over 6 people have left the company in 4 months. Stock always missing. Staff demotivated, retail manager lazy. At least 1 trolley full of donuts goes in bin every night hence how poor this retail manager is, always writing in group please stop taking stock but people still do it people still chat rubbish behind ur back when ur not here about how awful u are. U may as well just leave the company 🤷🏻‍♂️.

this place is the ONE if you love donuts the staff are always very friendly the donuts are very good Especially if they have just come out of the oven!

Went for a doughnut, refused my currency, had to pay by card. Got 2 ugly jumpers and a santa belly. Ugly jumpers were ugly and battered, no filling in santa's belly. Overall terrible experience, may struggle to sleep tonight.

I picked my Halloween donuts and noticed that 1 out of the 3 was a little battered and was missing his topping. I asked if it could be swapped to be told errrr they are all like that, they aren’t. It was swapped for another in a worse state so I said that ones not much better. The female assistant huffed and puffed and got another and just rammed it in the box. No receipt for my loyalty points. Just a totally horrible experience. Will not go back in a hurry.

A nice experience to see the donuts all getting made that get sent around the country while sat down enjoying a couple of donuts and a coffee. Highly recommended if visiting the area!

Staff harass you for online reviews about them, one new worker which was male he kept shoving a receipt in my face and saying oo do the survey about me and I will give you a free donutCome on a bit desperate Anyway when you try call them they never ever ever pick the phone upIts ridiculous

My partner and I came to Krispy Kreme today after 7 months of having no donuts ( gutted) we were amazed by the new donuts! We purchased the £13.95 dozen box and asked if they were contaminated with peanuts, the server said “ no just the reeses donuts”, which we avoided purchasing. I tried the chocolate dream cake and instantlyGot an allergy reaction so they must’ve been contaminated with peanut! I never usually complain about the donuts from Krispy Kreme but this is the first time it’s happened and I’ve never had a reaction from the donuts as I used to ask about my peanut allergy and fresh donuts were made incase of contamination. To leave this on a good note, my partner and his family enjoyed the donuts and they looked scrumptious!

I visited with my granddaughter on Friday afternoon (28th August). We were the only ones in the shop. The tables were uncleared and dirty. I had to ask for a table to be cleared and sanitised so that we could sit down. There was food all over the floor. There were 4 members of staff behind the counter. In normal circumstances this should not be happening but in the middle of a pandemic it is totally unacceptable.

Its September, first time we have come to the drive through since lockdown, went to choose our doughnuts to be told they are pre set sorry!!Lady would not let us choose, i have children that do not like what is in the box.She wouldn't change them!Can I ask why not?Why would you rather I came into the shop with everyone else?I will not be back.Its not difficult to add or change the type of doughnuts.I wouldnt mind but the queue for the shop was massive, what a shame.

This place used to be a favourite but has gone completely downhill Tables dirty & not clearedToilets disgusting there cannot be a cleaner here Customer service very poor , got completely messed about with order, with staff serving other people in the queue when our order wasn’t complete . Gave us takeaway cups as weren’t asked if we were sitting in Won’t return

I picked up a dozen doughnuts today but was very disappointed with the rudolph doughnut. They were all this way. And to say the store has re opened after refurbishment at birstall I would have thought they would make more effort.

What a shame, nobody told us that after 2hrs we would receive a £100 fine through the post, shameful of Krispy Kreme and lack of staff ethics and shame on Vehicle Control Services or Excel Parking, take your pick, the same shambolic cowboy outfit occupies the same building in Sheffield at Europa Court...

Ok where to start, you don’t need a degree to work here so why are all the staff so dim & not so nice? The portion sizes are all over the place, why can’t they make the doughnuts almost the same size? More often than not we get a normal sized one with another half the size!! This never used to be the case, I reckon in an aim to reduce wastage the smaller ones that used to go in the bin are now hitting the selves in the hope we won’t notice. It’s not working and we are getting ripped off. The tables were dirty and not cleared, the ladies toilet out of order with a sign to use the filthy gents! No thanks. Also not very nice someone left a dirty nappy on the toilet floor. Cleanliness here is terrible. The staff don’t smile & look like they haven’t a clue. 4 years ago this place was amazing & get your front door fixed I don’t want to hear it bang loudly every single time a customer walks in/out. Soft closing doors do exist you know.

My husband and son sat in the drive through of Birtstall Krispy Kreme last night to be told (only when they reached the window), that they had run out of all classic donut flavours. By the looks of other feedback this is a regular occurrence. Why couldn’t they inform cars waiting or even better, plan to make more donuts. What a waste of time and terrible service!!!!! One of the busiest eating establishments in a prime location and they run out. Shocking! Very very annoying.

Looking forward to doughnut icecream. Anyway arrived and nearly all table full of dirty tables after customers left.staff not cleaned up. Anyway we ordered doughnut with ice cream in a cardboard bowl and mini doughnuts with ice cream. I did pay for decaffe latte. I was told for drink take a seat and will bring over. Well the doughnut on cardboard bowl not the best and was a cold doughnut with ice cream , used to having hot doughnut with icecream. Other mini doughnut with ice cream difficult to get out and icecream more grainy. Anyway lady came up to apologise no decaffe so chose hot chocolate with cream. She bought over and tons of cream was ok but too much crwam. But mo would not come back for whst we chose were quite dissapointed.

Drive thru - Hi can i have 4 doughnuts, 2 chocolate sprinkler and 2 chocolate custard please...sorry we are out of chocolate sprinkler...okay... can i have 2 originals then please...sorry we are out of the originals....WHAT?!? And by the way this is not the first time this doughnut place has run out of doughnuts, even worse when you have to wait 10min in drive thru when there is nobody else in front. And only god knows why it took them 6 weeks to repair the intercom.

Love Krispy Kreme doughnuts they never seem to disappoint. Unfortunately staff are the most friendly so now I only go to the drive thru. Love that the place is 24 hour too

OMG... Love these doughnuts so so much. My daughter loved watching them being made through the glass screens while we were waiting in line to be served. Great selection of sweet treats, and it has a drive through too. Tables can be a bit grubby sometimes though. Usually stop off here for a sugar boost after visiting IKEA

We occasionally go to Krispy Kreme when we want to spoil ourselves and have the best donuts around. The hot drinks aren’t quite as good but they are ok, especially alongside the donuts!

Absolutely shocking visit this place is just getting worse and worse. Just a suggestion if your short staffed like you said you were why not close the restaurant instead of the drive thru which is easier for the customer? Customer service from the 'manager' was disgraceful as well

Today I visited with my parents (their first time) and my children. Unfortunately today was much busier than usual and staff could not cope.i have visited numerous times previously without bad service however today was awful.

Visited a few times and got to say love the donuts (obviously) and staff always friendly. Love watching how they make the donuts.

A large cafe specialising in donuts?! Love Krispy Kreme so a real surprise to find this here. Great choice of donuts, hard to resist buying a large box! You can even watch them being made through the large glass windows.

When food is so morish as Krispy Kreme it should be banned. They are just too good. To sweet and too delightful. I'm so glad all the other doughnuts from supermarkets are rubbish in comparison to KK.

We were visiting the cinema next door and called for some doughnuts on the way back, we got 4 assorted ones and they were delicious.

What can I say? Bloody nice doughnuts as always. Just wish they were cheaper so we could all get as fat as our America cousins.

first time I've been, ok if you like donuts, children enjoy it, I didn't realise it was machine made, plenty of choice of different flavours. Ok for an occassional treat but too too sweet for my taste, balloons for kids, toilets ok. Seating good and it was very clean

Had been a long time since we've had Krispy Kreme so went with family. Enjoyed the experience of seeing the doughnuts being made. Staff were really friendly and jovial. Order the mixed dozen and was worth the price. Was nice and quiet to sit down with family and enjoy. Had enough parking space also. Has a drive thru also! Would recommend.

Excellent donuts and coffee. Parking and drive through. Inside you can watch how the donuts are made and filled. Polite service. Tables and floors could be cleaner however it was very busy.

I love Donuts, Krispy Kreme have a fantastic collection. I paid a visit here for a one off treat and I wasn't disappointed.

First time we have gone inside this Krispy Kreme, the tables were filthy. Uncleared, so finding somewhere to sit where we didn't have to clean the table ourselves was impossible. Coffee was slow to be made and not that great.

I love this place. Yes it's popular and you have to queue for a reason. Love bringing my friends and family here from out of town. A real asset of birstall!

Love Krispy Kreme's, even better when it's a spacious cafe with plenty of seating; great place for a catch up. Lovely, helpful staff, the hot drinks selection is fab and prices are reasonable too when compared to drinks from other popular cafes. I tried their hot chocolate which was wow! Way better than your average hot choco. Doughnuts as always were on point and tasted much fresher than from the supermarket counters and shopping centre stalls. I know that sounds obvious but the freshness did stand out, is the point I'm trying to make. A family member tried their milkshake and has been raving about it since! Fun and interesting to see the whole doughnut making process too.It's part of the Birstall retail park so it's right next to the Showcase Cinema, fast food outlets and IKEA, etc. Recommended

Went in with my family to get some doughnuts to find there was only 3 options left! All flavours no one particularly liked. However staff was lovely and very apologetic.

I have always liked Krispy Kreme in the US, thought I'd call in to compare the UK version. Pleased to say very similar experience.

If you like donuts you will LOVE it here. You get to see all of the donuts for the north of England being made! If they are hot you can request a hot one off the belt and it tastes completely different to a cold one!

Would't usually review, but credit where credit's due; have to say, great friendly service, delicious doughnuts, and best of all superb coffee.Comfortable surroundings and not overly expensive.All in all, pleasantly surprised!

I was a regular customer to the Krispy Kreme franchise until I found out that the eggs are caged. The staff are always very friendly, and the doughnuts do taste beautiful but the eggs need to be changed.

Been a big Krispy Kreme fan from buying from tescos and service stations I had even higher hopes when I popped into the Krispy Kreme in batley. Upon walking in there were children running riot (not the staffs fault) which was a good start and a Q of around 6 people. 17 minutes, I'll repeat that 17 minutes it took them to get round to serving me. It's not like I'm walking into a two Michelin star restaurant and expect to wait. Most the staff looked like they had just finished a 12 hour drinking binge and just turned up to work. The girl in the cream shirt (assuming a supervisor due to different colour) was cleaning trays for whatever strange reason as she already ha a stack of about 40 already available to use. Then she turns to look at the cue and gave the look as if someone had walked into her house on Christmas Day and urinated on her kids. The look as the she was literally about to jump of the nearest bring. Now I'm accustomed to the restaurant world and worked in the field for 10 years, and I've never seen anything as bad as the service in this dump. If I could have give you a lower score I would have, I just can't put into words how I feel about wasting my money to give to this staff.

Delicious donuts and it is pretty to watch them all being born on the donut conveyor belt through the glass window.They are just donuts, but they are nice.

These are the best donuts ever. All sat there on the shelf glistening waiting to be adorned!! Also the factory is here so you can watch them all been made which is quite fun to watch.

My son and I had 1 donut each & drink. The drinks and donuts were both very fresh - at this particular diner you can watch them make/decorate various donuts. The staff were friendly and suggested I get 2 donuts and the drink to get a special offer and my sons drink was separate (all paid together - just cheaper!) #happy The carpark is small and many people struggled to get a place (we were ok.)The shop and bakery is VERY clean.

Visit here quite frequently as an avid doughnut lover. However today the queue was enormous, and got to the front to find they had no doughnuts left! I don't see how it's possible to run out of stock when the doughnuts are being made in the same building, just metres away! Won't be taking a trip back for a while.

If you like doughnuts this is the place to go, bring a group of friends with you and you have an excuse to by a double dozen! It also has a drive through if you don't want to eat inside.

Krispy Kreme is great I have been to America a few times and this takes me back. The decor is classic American, its so cool. You can watch the staff making the doughnuts through a massive glass window they have. Also if you go at the right time in the week you can have hot fresh original glazed doughnuts, you have to try them once. The price is high but they are probably the best doughnuts you will get in the UK and its a cool experience to go. It's great to go with friends and chill out, their americano coffee is my favourite.
