A very pleasant place to able to enjoy a break. Welcoming staff with a smile, clean small independent café, nicely explained the differences in the various parts of the menu and great prompt service. Even anticipating our need for sharing. Pleasantly served by a smiling staff during a relatively busy mid-morning period. Reasonably priced but limited menu. Highly recommended.

Appallingly rude service. An aggressive argumentative male staff member told me dogs were not allowed - we have made numerous visits with our dog with no issue. Essentially he called me a liar and I’d never have been allowed in with said beast. So if you want aggression and argument go ahead - if not Guildford hAs some wonderful cafes - just give this horror show a miss!!

Really disappointing service, our tea mugs were half full when asked for extra hot water a patronising man told me to pay for more tea. A decent coffee shop would firstly use tea pots and secondly not refuse extra hot water. The server was very smug and unhelpful. I would not recommend going here when there are so many other good choices in Guildford. This man needs some customer service training. The younger man who took the orders was lovely. Food very mediocre.

With outside temperatures at minus four, this cafe keeps its door stubbornly wedged wide open, causing all the customers sitting in the top area to wear coats, hats and gloves. A truly miserable experience. I overheard another customer ask about closing it, but it is 'policy' to keep it open apparently. Lovely. I will return next Spring when the climate suits the experience.

If you’re going to have a very limited menu why not try and make the food the best version of what you do? Sadly this café failed The mashed avocado tasted bitter, like it was on the turn and the toast was thin and tough The plate looked skimpy just not enough food for £7 The bacon was tasty and well cooked. My partner had a smoothie which was thick and tasty. But not a good experience one left feeling cheated.

Super! Went there for lunch with a friend. Had tbeavocado toast (£6) which was delicious. Free tap water available and filled up out water bottles too as hot day. I rarely write reviews and if I do they will be positive ones. I was visiting Guildford which I am not familiar with and wanted to grab a light lunch before heading home in Kent and always like to support independent retailers. I ordered the roasted peppers, hummus and rocket focaccia toastie which had barely any filling. There were about 3 thin (approx 3mm) rolled up strips of pepper and 2 rocket leaves all for £7.50! I would have been happy to pay that if there was actually a sensible amount of filling in it but all I paid for was 2 pieces of toasted foccacia.

Soup at this cafe was a total rip-off. The highest price for soup in a cafe in the whole of Guildford, not at all justified by the measly portion served up with the plainest of toast slices. Not something they publicise either. Their prices are generally transparent on backboards, but not in the case of their soup. All a real shame, because Guildford lacks good, independent coffee shops and Krema's coffee is good quality. To be hoped they look to rectify this issue! try and rectify this issue!

On a lacklustre shopping trip to Guildford we saw this place on the way back to our car. It is well positioned on a quiet corner of Tunsgate.. we sat outside in the sunshine. The interior is fairly small and friendly and the smell of freshly ground coffee wafts around. (No greasy spoons here!) There is the usual selection of patisserie, sandwiches and the like plus of course the coffee and tea, et al.... all served efficiently by friendly waiting staff.... well worth a visit if you are in Guildford

I ordered a bowl of soup Without the accompanying bread as I can't eat it for £5.99. When the bowl arrived it was only half full and looked a very mean portion. I politely asked if I could have a drop more to add to it, especially as I wasn't having the bread. The waiter said no I couldn't and then the manager came and also said no. I pointed out that I wasn't having the bread but they were adamant....not a drop more. I gave them my soup back and they were obviously keener to refund my £5.99 and not have a sale than adding another half ladle of soup...plus of course losing a repeat customer!

Located at the top of Tunsgate, this is a great spot to sit outside (there is inside seating as well) on a sunny day with backdrop of castle ruins and entrance to the splendid town park (hard to believe Guildford’s not got city status). Orders are taken at counter and table served. Have to say I was impressed with the cheerful staff and although I’m not a coffee drinker, I am a fan of Rooibos tea which is served loose leaf in a teapot here. It was busy outside on the warm autumn Sunday we visited but tables are regularly vacated. There’s not much in the way of food offerings and so mainly suitable for hot drinks and cake type snacks/soup/toasties. I believe there’s another in the chain at Farnham, so good to see they’re expanding.

Nothing not to like here really but nothing to get excited about either. Coffee was good, but was a bit small and tepid. Cake (courgette/lemon) was bizarrely dry and, again, a small portion. It’s a nice enough space and was clean and friendly, but the food and drink were not memorable for the right reasons. Things need to sharpen up if this café is going to compete with its neighbours.

Sunday lunch, for family 2 adults and two children. Only Sunday roast available, Turkey or beef. Asked for gravy on the side , all came smothered in a thick dark brown gravy and a jug of gravy on the side. Very poor presentation and the quality of the turkey was poor but the single slice of beef was the toughest I ever had. We didn’t even consider dessert ! Not to be recommended, AVOID.
