Great breakfast, great staff, great place

Visiting Brighton for the weekend and this place was highly recommended. Lovely vibe, awesome food, delicious coffee. I have never managed to find somewhere to top my local cafe's Eggs Benedict 🥚 but Kooks has pipped them to the post! Great service from Saul, would love to return.

Came in for the first time this morning with my husband for a lovely breakfast. Really welcoming and laid back atmosphere with chilled out music. Fantastic food - I can see now why it was filling up fast when we were in there. Thank you - we will be back :)

We went in there yesterday first time we've been there and certainly won't be the last. Our meal was delicious and the waiter was so friendly. Definitely recommend it

Visited a few weeks ago food was made to my taste,chef and waiters very accomadting red velvet cake standard mint tea needed more mint but my main dish was very tasty compliments to the chef

Food was hot and very nice! Had the burger which was super nice and my friend had veggie breakfast which they loved. Chef was more than happy to Adjust parts on the menu for my picky friend. Good atmosphere and lovely waitstaff.

Glyn was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back with a party of people in the new year.

We waited for an hour and our food order didn't arrive. We were only in Brighton for the day which meant the rest of our day was in a big rush. Update: was contacted by the restaurant regarding this but the email address supplied by them did not work.

It was a very busy Saturday lunch time but even though the place was packed, my husband and I were given a seat immediately and got attention from the waiting staff. Food was excellent, with good gf options. All staff were super friendly and v efficient. Our server Jamie was brilliant , so friendly and attentive even when the place was very busy.

Really enjoyed my time at Kooks on the weekend. Me and my friend had a nice lunch where I ate the chicken club sandwich. Jamie, the waitress who served us, was lovely and made our experience really enjoyable and comfortable with her friendly personality. Would go again and recommend to others.

Had two trips to Kooks today! Coffee, shopping, then lunch. Such a relaxed atmosphere, great food, chilled music. Friendly service from the wonderful Kitty and Francesco to make us very happy!

Food was great as always and the staff were super friendly - server named Jamie made sure that my friend and I were comfortable with our table as we arrived at a busy time and made our experience easy :)

Popped into Kooks on a busy Saturday afternoon, team were very friendly and accommodating. We had the chicken and beef burgers which were delicious, fries were great too. Great atmosphere, we sat inside but they also have space outside which is lovely on a sunny day.

We were walking past, & had a look as the menu out side. A lovely guy called Glyn came out to chat to us, & told us all about Bottomless brunch. We dropped off our cases at our hotel & went straight back. We were served by Glyn & Saul, they were lovely, fun & attentive. Our brunch was delicious & the atmosphere was great, will totally recommend.

Stumbled across this place, menu looked good. Saul seated and tended to us along with other members of the team, service, food and drinks were great. Really good value, highlight was the freshly squeezed orange juice for my mimosa. So good we went back the next day Highly recommended

Had cocktails here and they were the worst cocktails ever. Supposed to be Moscow mule but had no ginger or mint flavour at all. Just pure lime juice. Horrible Edit. On paying we were refunded the price of the cocktails. Also received an apology

Lovely independent restaurant. Kooks restaurant provided a welcome pitstop before a long train journey on our way home after a few days in Brighton. Made to feel very welcome by Saul & Maeve. The HLT (Halumi, lettuce & tomato sandwich) was freshly made & very tasty. Thank you

We sat outside in the September sunshine, eating delicious food, while Brighton walked by. What's not to enjoy? The shakshouka was molto saporito and Francesco, the waiter, was attentive, friendly and helpful. A lovely experience.

I popped in on my to work, grabbing a coffee to go, Leaf made my drink & provided a friendly service with a delicious coffee as well, just what I needed to start my day !

Fran was incredible and found us a table straight away his service was spot on, jasmines coffees were out of this world, Saul was incredible too with a friendly smile and top service, food is Definitely a 5 star, overall a fantastic brunch:)

Had a delicious brunch this morning at Kooks! We were served by Poppy who was very attentive and friendly! (Also appreciated how lovely she was with my elderly mother) Would definitely recommend and will certainly go back when we are next visiting 🙂

Friendly staff, Helpful and always keeping an eye on the guest that nothing is missing. The Eggs Royale was also delicious. Will definitely come back soon. Price performance for the quality is also completely okay.

What an absolute joy of a discovery!!! If you are someone who is Gluten intolerant like me, you must pay Kooks restaurant a visit!!! With freshly prepared great tasting food, offering Gluten free alternatives across the menu, it made eating out a pleasure instead of the usual feeling of having to just make do. Visited twice during our three day visit sampling the club sandwich on GF bread followed two days later with a superb Caesar salad with crispy bacon. Jonny and the team couldn’t have been more attentive and understanding!!

Brunch here was pretty alright I’d say! It hit the spot but was quite expensive for what you got. I spent £10.50 on 4 “American style” pancakes and they were very small and thin which didn’t feel worth it. My partner said her sandwich was decent and the chips were very nice. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant very much, it was cosy but still had a lot of room. I think it might have been a bit understaffed or something because the waiters all seemed rushed of their feet and it took a very long time for the food to come. The bathroom was in need of a thorough deep cleaning. I probably wouldn’t go back but it’s nice enough.

Service goes up and down depending on who's on charge, good value for money

The service was very poor . Food didn’t arrive for more than an hour and every time we asked how long it would take , they said we are the next one and then went missing. The staff was also not friendly. This was our first time and will be the last time.

Wasn’t greeted at the door, the man working in the floral shirt shouted across the cafe to ask about our booking which felt weird because it meant we had to shout back to be heard. He was very unfriendly and didn’t respond when we asked a question about the coffee. Didn’t bring our two coffees for 40 mins when we had already finished our food. Didn’t have the food we wanted to order and didn’t tell us until 10 mins after ordering it. Seating plan is bizarre and way too cramped. Lady serving with ginger hair was absolutely lovely though.

I visited looks for my birthday ! I did the bottomless brunch for £30 per person. The staff were lovely, friendly and the food was delicious they made us feel so welcome and I couldn’t have chosen anywhere better!. Big shoutout to our server Glyn and the lovely lady behind the bar whose name I’ve forgotten they were amazing ! Would definitely recommend; great value for money

Breakfast food was delicious. Smash avo on toast with smoked salmon was exceptional. Each item of the English breakfast was cooked well which probably accounts why the wait for the food was a bit long. Byt we were happy with the food so can’t complain. Coffee, and Chai Latte was great. Glen was friendly 👍

We were waiting 25 minutes for them to take our order, we tried to order at the bar but was told table service only but they didn’t send anyone over. In the end we left because it was a super hot day and I was feeling faint with dehydration. Terrible service, there was only one other table in there so not even like it was busy.

Absolutely HORRENDOUS staff. Not one smile, asked for additional drinks not a yes or no. Just walked off. The whole time of our visit every time the waiter walked past he stared at me, no smile no nothing. At least the food was banging. Let's hope the man with tattooed legs and grey hair is the manager because he WILL lose this place custom. If he's not- re consider him. :)

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was nice and quiet and a great feel to the place. The people here are really nice. Food came quickly and it was delicious. We both had an eggs benedict, I added hallomi and my husband had added a sausage. Would definitely come back here again :)

Nice staff, clean place but the cake (vegan chocolate and raspberry, and biscoff) was so disappointing, dry and over cooked. Have been contacted by owner for a free voucher for coffee and cake to go back so they can get it right this time. I feel this is a good response and will update after my 2nd try.

Kooks used to do the best Eggs Ben in town, but they have sadly changed from sourdough toast to English muffins. While the latter is more traditional for the dish, I much preferred the former... Their honey ham is still good though. Service a little sluggish

Really great experience today at Kooks. Very friendly service and great coffee from Evie. Saul was excellent taking our order, we have some allergies and he was not at all fazed by this. Glyn kndly checked every thing was ok with our order after it arrived.( it was 😊) Thank you so much guys.

We were seated quick, outside on a busy day. No problem. I ordered specific breakfast items, no toast as I don't eat bread.. Showed up with 2 toast... My wife ordered a breakfast with roasted vine tomatoes, arrived without so they had to go back.. Food was OK.. Not sure if I was charged for the toast as didn't get an itemised bill, couldn't be bothered to wait... Won't return.

The coffee was also excellent, a perfect complement to the meal. Our server, Kitty, was exceptional. She was very professional, attentive, and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. Good spot for an afternoon tea & catch up. Opened the windows for us as it was a bit warm.

We had bottomless brunch here on a Saturday afternoon as part of my friends hen party..the place is gorgeous, so cosy and such a lovely vibe. The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly and very attentive. Glyn was such a fantastic host and made sure no stone was left unturned for our special occasion. I couldn't rate Kooks high enough! Amazing all round!

oh how glorious! i was having a dreadful day but went to kooks and it was utterly turned around by the wonderful barmaid with beautiful curly red hair! it seems nothing short of necessary to come on here and thank her for serving me with such warmth! I didn’t catch her name but she was phenomenal! If i could talk to the chefs myself i would- i’ve never enjoyed poached eggs like that before. stunning! Shall be shouting from the rooftops about this place. Thank you 😊

Big thank you to Glyn for accomodating our sip and paint activity for our hen party group in our own area. Great selection of drinks and the staff were very friendly and service was quick. We ended up coming back the next day for brunch which was delicious. Highly recommended and to book in advance for larger groups.

Really disapointed by the brunch :/ 1 - Manager not smiling and cold 2 - Full english breakfast not worth the money (overcook potatoes, blend tomatoes, undercook mushroom) and £2,2 for an extra slice of bacon Maybe i was unlucky this day (came at 1 oclock so not that late) according to the reviews but still a bad expérience.

Very tasty food and the gluten free options are really tasty too.

Quite a busy place on a Saturday afternoon. Took a long time before staff took the order and then didn't bring the water that was requested. Very noisy and difficult to have a proper conversation. Lovely looking place though and the coffee was good. Staff looked very busy but still friendly.

Served by Evie today and was blown away by her lovely attitude and her desire to go above and beyond. She is a star! ⭐
