Betterday in Brighton and Hove

Wonderful little restaurant with a good atmosphere and lovely, friendly staff. Visited twice now in the past two weeks. On both occasions the food has been great.

This place has never disappointed me. I’ve been going here regularly with my friends and it’s an addiction for me. With amazing deals, delicious food and the kindest staff and owner. If you want safe, trust worthy and homely Korean food, I can not recommend this place enough.

The food was wonderful, it was the best restaurant EVER !! in brighton. Recommend the hot ramen and pork rice !!! I will visit there soon. All the staff were kind, and the service of restaurant was perfect. Thank you !!

Don't make the same mistake I did and leave it too long to try this place! It's a miserable rainy night and a kimchi and tofu ramen here cheered me up a lot. There are plenty of other options too. Really excellent, one of the best ramen I've had! Try it before it gets more busy!

I have been here a couple of times to have the Betterday Ramen and so far it is my favourite ramen in Brighton - the toppings are great! Good value for money too. The waitress is also really friendly and quick! I found through an Instagram advert just before my lunchbreak - it was great timing and I went straight there, glad it was lush!

I've been wanting to go here for weeks, and it did not disappoint! The staff were welcoming, and the food was equally stellar. We have the Veg platter as a starter and K Pop veg/vg rice as mains. Oh, and they're dog friendly, too.

Such an underrated restaurant and we had a really great experience. Good prices for the portions and really friendly staff. Highly recommend and will be coming back.

Was not terrible, but really nothing special. 1 little piece of cauliflower and 1 little piece of broccoli, the tofu batter was the worst part, tasted like it was fried in old oil and the broth was kinda ok but won't go back.

Literally the worst place to eat in Brighton. Cold old rice, burnt dry breadcrumbed chicken, chewy lettuce leaves. Just awful. Would have been expensive at half the price.

The whole menu was just meh. It had some Korean dishes but also chips and sausage. So dob't expect much Korean cuisine. The ramen had poor quality noodles and just a bland taste. I'm glad we tried it, but won't be back.

I ordered this on UberEats, it was terrible value for money, the veggie platter was tiny and felt like a leftover Iceland party platter and the TTEOGBOKKI while nice, equated to about 3 forkfuls. Finally the fries, while I didn’t expect life changing fries from a Korean restaurant they were also tiny and relatively unspecial. In short the food was fine, but for the price and portion size not worth it.

Beautiful interior, delightful service and my favourite bowl of ramen I've ever eaten. Really good prices too, especially around lunchtime.

Had a really nice time, the staff were so nice and personable. I really enjoyed my food but my boyfriend noticed his chicken ramen was a little lacking in chicken, but apart from that, the food was lovely!

Unfortunately has had “better days….” I don’t usually post bad reviews as I understand how damaging it can be to small businesses. However having sat on this for a good few months, it really was such a negative experience I feel it is warranted. Coming in on a Friday evening after work around 6:30 pm I was surprised to see the shop quiet. No other customers at that time which was a bit odd. Service was surprising slow given there was no one but us standing in the doorway. We requested the booth seating as there were no other diners and no reservations made. Denied and offered a small corner seat in the middle of the restaurant in front of the draughty door. Takes 10 minutes to give us a menu and some water. We order a kimchee pancake and some popcorn chicken pieces. Serves customers who come in after us promptly and gives them whatever seating they want. Also odd that their orders are served before ours ! Despite the fact that we made ours 15 minutes before they arrived. When we enquire - reason was the kitchen made a mistake and therefore they get theirs first… no apology offered or reason given before we asked. Disappointed to find the pancake (which was cold by time we received it ) to be soggy in the middle and burnt on the outside… Chicken was taken to go as I wasn’t happy putting up with such poor service. Very mediocre… not worth the price. Ended up dining across the street at Honest Burger - orders of magnitude better… and saved my evening! Quite possibly the worst Korean restaurant I’ve been to in a while … and the service is inexcusable.

Really bland Ramen, nothing had any flavour and despite there being a sign on the window advertising a lunch deal, when we went to pay she said that deal is no longer running and she needed to wipe it off the window so we had to pay full price. Very disappointing, will not be returning.

We had an excellent meal at Betterday. Theresa was very welcoming and friendly and helped us decide on what to get. Even though we came in for the Korean breakfast which wasn’t available, we ended up going for Korean Ramen which was delicious. Would definitely visit again!

Genuinely really good food and lovely service. Visited on a couple of occasions during our stay in Brighton and each time was fantastic. Wouldn't be too familiar with Korean food , but from what I had it was delicious (Bibim Mandu; with an excellent side of salad in a lovely sauce, and the Beef Bulgogi) definitely would visit again on a return to Brighton ;)

The food was ok. I usually love Korean food but never had Korean ramen before and it felt a bit like jazzed up instant ramen to be honest. Service was great though and the waitress was really friendly

First time I’ve had Ramen (my loss); I’ve ordered kimchi ramen with extra sausage for protein (and after reading other options about being proper Korean). It felt fresh and full of flavour, a little spicy but just about to feel the kick. Big portion, I didn’t have any starter and I was ok. The place is small but you have seats outside if you feel like.

Best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had. All the food was really tasty. The service is good too. I would very much recommend

WHAT A GEM! My boyfriend and I came down from London for a day/night by the sea and were walking about the lanes and surrounding area looking for a place to have dinner when we stumbled across this restaurant. The food 20/10 and everyone is very lovely and fun to chat to and the the price for the portion size you get is also fantastic. Never have seen ramen this big ate the rest for breakfast. Looking forward to my next Brighton trip just to eat here 👏🏽 I also would like to add that it was so good we returned the next day before leaving for home to have more 😂

What a delightful and delicious place! The kimchi pancake was so yummy, perfect for sharing, and the Kimchi ramen was absolute 🔥 The broth was so rich and velvety, the noodles cooked to perfection and the fried tofu was so delicious!! My girlfriend had the Deonjang ramen which was also really tasty. The staff was so welcoming and kind, and the place has a lovely atmosphere with the little drawings of mushrooms on the windows and the decoration is really sweet. Do yourself a favour and go visit Betterday in Brighton! 맛있어요!

I'm not sure why this has great reviews. We went yesterday and the food was really bland. Had the Chicken Katsu... Nothing was seasoned, and it tasted like it was fried in old oil. Service was however very friendly.

Vegan ramen is fantastic and the dumplings were amazing. Most dishes can be veganised. Really friendly staff, competent and super fast. We paid just under £30 for a meal for 2 so it’s cheap and delicious. Highly recommend!! :)))

Scrumptious Korean foods ever in Brighton! The brand new Korean restaurant makes me happy! I ordered Betterday Ramen and Korean Popcorn Chicken and everything was fantastic! Manager and chef were also kind! I’m definitely will come again!

One of my friends recommends Betterday Korean restaurant in Brighton! I've ordered the special menu, Betterday Ramen! It was absolutely fantastic! Ramen with the soup was perfect, and the other toppings were scrumptious! I'm fond of eating noodles, and Betterday's Ramen was one of the top ramen in my life! I want to eat again soon! I've ordered Korean popcorn chicken. The taste and texture were the same as when I went to Korea! Strongly recommend this! It was super great to have one with Ramen! Dumplings with a bit of spicy veg were right up my alley!

Amazing Korean Ramen and soju (rice wine) walked past and will now become a regular. Perfectly cooked bowl. Chilled atmosphere and rice wine! Good vibes inside, the owner/manager was very welcoming and explained the menu. I highly recommend, fantastic to finally have an authentic Korean Ramen spot in Brighton.

The staff were extremely welcoming and were happy to have regular conversations with us. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were really good for the amount we had spent. Definitely will be going back in the future in hopes to eat the rest of the menu.

Fantastically welcoming, delicious, affordable, home-style food. So glad to have a place like this in Brighton, where I can get delicious Korean pancakes, ramen, fried chicken and dumplings.

Ramen declared "good" by my partner but the kimchi arrived late as an afterthought and "wasn't the best". The katsu chicken sandwich was a complete let down. The chicken so over cooked and dry I needed a knife to cut through it. Yet the cheese slice was cold and not melted and tomatoes where under ripe and had little to none flavour. This might well be a one off experience as it was the "special item" so don't let it put you off if you are in search of ramen. The décor of the place is great and I am hoping to revisit if some teething issues in the kitchen are sorted.

Korean chili cheese ramen was perfectly cooked and very authentic. Currently 7.50£ pP for two so great value. Will definitely come back to try the katsu sandwich.

I really really recommend this restaurant the food is amazing and the service too ⭐️! I went to the restaurant a few weeks ago, had a delicious dairy and gluten free english breakfast (one of the best I’ve ever had to be honest… really good), and even though I have to avoid gluten, I couldn’t resist and asked for Bibim mandu. Loved all so much so that I decided to ask for a take away last night and again I was delighted!! I ordered Bibim mandu 🤭 (comes with kimchi), pop corn chicken (my new favourite 🤩🤩🤩) and depnjang ramen (tofu with rice noodles) 😋😋👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼! I really enjoyed all very much! The packing was also very good with the broth in a separate container to avoid the noodles to be soggy. 5⭐️s 👌🏼

Just popped in for a spot of lunch, had juicy crispy korean popcorn chicken starter ( hooooge portion )and ramen main. Lovely and fresh, .... im stuffed struggling to walk up the hill after.

Fabulous little Korean place, simple tasty excellent value and superb service, exactly what we wanted.

I went in with my boyfriend for dinner. I got a Kimchi Korean pancake for £6.50 (they’re normally £13 anywhere else!) and he had the cheese hot ramen for £9.90. The owners are so welcoming and kind. They made sure we were enjoying our meals and when we were looking at the menu outside he came out and had a chat with us. On the way out, we got Korean popcorn chicken to takeaway. This was £6. In total, we paid about £21 with a student discount. The menu is very affordable and they have breakfast deals too such as a Korean toastie with coffee is £6. Lovely music playing too! I’m glad I went there and will definitely be going again to try their breakfast menu. Thank you for having us!

영국 여행가서 라면 먹고 싶다는 친구들 있어서 검색하다가 갔어요. 라면인데 넘 고급스럽고 존맛탱이라서 1차 놀랐어요. 사이드로 팝콘치킨하고 김치전 시켰는데 찐 맛있길래 여쭤봤다니 한국에서 직접 공수한 전라도 김치라고 해서 2차로 놀랐어요. 영국에서 집 김치라니 감격했어요..!!! 여행 중에 한식 고프던 중 즐거운 경험이었습니다♡

Although basically no other customers around, the food (a toast!) took about 40 minutes. The “plain” hamburger we ordered for my daughter (and repeatedly said “Nothing on it.”) came with salad, mustard, cheese and mayonnaise. The ramen was good and contributes to two stars rather than one.

We visited for a brunch and had full English breakfast. Everything was perfectly cooked and sausages were my favorite (somehow reminded me of one of my favorite Japanese sausages) and hashed potatoes were my partner’s favorite (crispy outside and fluffy inside!). The couple next to us were having ramen and it looked delicious too. The owner and the rest of the team here are absolute stars. You're always made to feel welcome!
