Kona is well worth a visit as the food is tasty and the place has a wonderful vibe. The service is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly. Go on give it a visit, you won't be disappointed.

My experience at Kona for valentine's was beyond exceptional! My Pad Thai was delicious and well seasoned. Poke bowls were amazing. Service and atmosphere was excellent, our waitress was lovely! Highly recommend.

Whee do I start, I’m currently sat in McDonald’s car park trying to remove the taste and memory from what I have just experienced at Kina. I’m not writing this review to make the place look bad, the place is very relaxed and the waitress was lovely, very friendly and welcoming: I usually only do trip advisor reviews for holidays but I had to re-download the app to spare anyone else the taste trauma I’m currently experiencing, I am not exaggerating when I say this place has scared my pallet, I fear nothing will taste the same again. I’m a foodie and I’ve had my fair share of bad meals but I’ve just ordered the Poke Bowl and Pad Thai… all I can say is this tastes is. It going to leave me for a while, imagine eating a cardboard air freshener mixed with a urinal soap, currently drinking a banana milkshake and I’m getting hints of CIF bathroom cleaner and my dead grandmothers perfume… By far the worst thing I have ever eaten, if you like food a please don’t eat these 2 meals… can’t comment of the rest of the menu but the 2 meals I tried have given me PRSD. I’m literally in shock to how bad that tasted. One thing I will take from the £35 I spent was to experience the worst food I’ve had in my 39 years and it’s now made anything I will eat in the future taste like a Michelin star meal, once the tater has left my moth of course, going to be repeating in me for a few weeks that meal, wish me luck all.

Food was very good, although not entirely sure about the pineapple on the poke bowl (and I say that as pineapple on pizza enjoyer). The cocktails were really good as well! However would say that the service was quite slow and had to try and catch their attention or go up to the counter for issues / more drinks. This wasn't server laziness as they were very friendly and constantly busy - I think they just needed more than 2 staff on that night. I would say it might be better to get an extra server rather than a DJ. Would deffo recommend for the food though but hope they get more servers on shift next time I go.

Disappointing. Good food options poorly executed. Areogant barman very rude and vulgar comments/"jokes"/"bants". Long wait for a not very busy restaurant.

Can’t say we tried the food or drink. Sat in a dark corner next to a group of guys drinking despite plenty of tables being free. 25 minutes later left, as no one had further approached us after being seated to take an order. It wasn’t even busy either. First and last time. Need some customer service training quickly.

Fantastic food.. Steak was perfectly done and Pad Thai was fresh and delicious! The atmosphere and decor is top notch. Thanks you to Joe for your friendly and efficient service. I highly recommend this venue!

Best food in Falmouth. Pricey but they do student discount!

The restaurant is gorgeous, staff super friendly and attentive and the food exceptional with incredible presentation. The Chicken Karaage and Kona Colada are highly re commended. Definitely a must if you are visiting Falmouth. The inhouse DJ plays some awesome tunes too.

Fabulous food! First visit to Kona. Had good reviews from family and friends so thought we would try it ourselves and we were not disappointed! Great ambiance and decor. Loved the music and the Elvis Presley film playing. Attentive staff and delicious food. We will be back!

Sorry to say that these were objectively the worst poke bowls I’ve ever had. The rice was criminallyyyyy overcooked oh my goddd!!!!!! I can’t recommend the mushroom poke bowl at all ( but there wasn’t any choice because they had no chicken and no tuna), as the flavours of pineapple, coleslaw and shiitake mushrooms do notttt go. They said food was slow at the beginning of the night but it really wasn’t that busy- not busy enough at all for the quality of that rice😔😔😔. £17 for a no- meat poke with inedible rice and bad flavour. All I ate was the melon and edamame. Can’t recommend at all.

Not a date place. Rough and ready - a colourful Wetherspoons with nicer food. The table was wobbly and very high up so it was difficult to get comfortable. They offered us a different table about 30cm away from a large and loud group so we had to stay put. The service was ok but the atmosphere was a bit dull. The food itself tasted and looked very nice. Unfortunately, my partner and I had a very bad experience the next day (yes we shared our food) so I would not recommend going here.

Lunch here was delicious, with a menu different from many other places to eat in Falmouth, and some interesting mocktails. The poke bowl was the best I've ever tasted. I wish we lived nearer!

Lovely food next to the harbour

We must have been in on an extremely busy night as service was very slow and forgot some of our order .sadly no one apologised for this ,waitress said oh I’ll make sure I knock it off the bill .like I said very busy and poke bowls 17.00 (ouch)!!

Last night we ended up having an impromptu family reunion and 25 or so of us descended onto Kona. They received us with great patience and grace. The cocktails were fab and the food delicious- importantly really good value for money too. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and patient and we’d like to thank them for a superb evening. Definitely will be coming back again (in smaller numbers!). Thank you so much.

Had one of our regular trips to Falmouth to visit family and booked into Kona as we have had a good experience our past few visits, Saturday evening 22/06/24 6 pm . One member of our group is a seasfood lover and had checked the menu on the way down with promise of scallops, fish and specials. Upon arrival after seating we were told no sea food and no specials which basically meant,a squid starter and a trout dish, which was billed as a sample menu online which turned out to be the full menu. So it was burgers or bowls ! Food was reasonable ( probably still in shock from no seafood) shame as the atmosphere was good. On that particular night we got the impression the emphasis was on younger customers having cocktails and light bites.

Popped in for a quick burger this afternoon, with my friend who uses a wheelchair. We sat outside so we wouldn't be in the way. A mob of gulls swiped my burger as I was attending to the needs of my pal 😮‍💨 straight away a fresh meal was delivered to my table! The staff were great, and my burger was fabulous, I'm so glad I got to taste it! Thanks guys 👍🏼

Brilliant food well worth a visit

Fantastic evening! Drinks are great, with a great selection of world beers and good mix of cocktails. The Hawaii surf vibe is cool, relaxed and puts you in a good mood. The food quality is really great too. Service is fab, everyone is so friendly and efficient :) Recommend for drinks, food and a relaxed beach vibe.

We came here quite a few times last year and the food was amazing! Not anymore the food is bland, tasteless. Stay away from the Thia Green curry unless you like chicken thigh and the crab sandwich if you don’t like brown crab meat… not what it was at all! Gutted because it was always bang on.

A Hawaiian-based themed bar. Very comfortable and the staff is very friendly and polite. Highly recommended!

A real shame my Wife and I have been coming here since it opened. Unfortunately the menu has shrunk and is no longer exciting, more of a Burger place now. The food was OK but not of the usual standard and the bar staff were more intent on socialising than serving, after 25mins of waiting I cancelled the drinks. You can't afford to have an ok restaurant in Falmouth far too many to choose from.

THEY RUINED WING WEDNESDAY 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 I used to go to wing Wednesday every week with a group of friends but they have since changed the system and ruined it. I will change my review to 5 stars when they restore wing Wednesday back to its former glory #MakeWingWednesdayGreatAgain

Down with the bright young things of Falmouth last evening. Bouncing atmosphere. Good marketing, i.e. wings 50p each on a Wednesday saw this place packed with young people (and us, the oldest in the place!) A Hawaian surf dude themed joint, very well presented. Staff so very accommodating. Not sure about the need for a DJ positioned in the corner becoming increasingly weary during the evening through maintaining his one man party moves. He was leaning up against the wall as we left, still girating. Quite amusing. Oh, and there was food. The wings were surprisingly good. Flavoursome sticky sauce. Finger licking good (mmm, is that someone else's line?). The cualiflower and coconut curry was tasty. The Huli huli Chicken Poke Bowl was very substantial but the meat was very dry. Half way through, as I was increasingly clogging up, I asked what sauces only to be told it should have come with soy sauce. Its appearance allowed me to finsh the bowl, nearly. Choose wisely and this will be a great evening.

We had an amazing lunch, the food was fabulous, great service and the restaurant is a lovely place to hang out with a great views of the harbour. We will be back.

First time visit and it was a mixed bag! The chicken karage was amazing, the poke bowl good and the special pork Tonkatsu was a highlight. However the crab roll was really poor. The place looks great and the staff amazing, so we will be back

Tasty food. Varied menu. Excellent selection of drinks. Brought our group a few wrong dishes, but were apologetic and prompt to fix.

We went for wife's birthday, third time. All went well service great until whilst relaxing before leav ing a Lady went by dragging a dog which was deficating all the way past us with her two daughters picking up the droppings with bare hands. No action was observed from staff. Clearly allowing dogs except guide dogs should be rethought. Off of my wife's list after being her favourite.

Went fairly early on a Saturday night, bustling lively vibe, fairly well spaced tables, service was great and food plentiful and tasty, presented really beautifully. The music was a bit too loud for me but I am in my fifties 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 Would definitely recommend.

Overall a very good experience, food was nice and the atmosphere was great. There was a small hiccup with our order/wait time time but seemed like it was a one day thing.

We stopped here purely by chance whilst out shopping in Falmouth. The restaurant had some £10 lunch dishes which were really good value when compared to the rest of Falmouth. We had a burger and a crab sandwich which were delicious and the food came quickly. I will definitely be back to try the poke bowls.

Excellent experience: …great food; …front of house were engaging with an eye on what's what, but never to the point of intrusion; …general feel / management approach at Kona made for a relaxed, enjoyable experience.

I had an awful experience at Kona last weekend. I was in Cornwall visiting friends and came here for dinner. I ordered the cauliflower and coconut curry, I had one bite and realised it was meat. I told the waiter and he said it was the beef curry that he had given me. I felt so sick and wanted to cry, I haven’t eaten meat in 8 years. I was calm and polite as I understand mistakes happen but when I was in the toilet being sick, my friend went up to the staff and told them what had happened. They proceeded to gaslight her/me and tell her that I had ordered the beef.…. I felt extremely sick and just so disappointed with the lack of responsibility and professionalism. They made a bad situation worse by the way that they handled it. I will never go back here and wish that I could turn back in time so that this never happened.

Served the wrong food and wouldn’t admit it, wouldn’t be such an issue but they served something literally deadly, an honest mistake? Probably so.. but admit it and do better.
