Ordered fish and chips for three. They have embraced technology and was worried if this is a sign of money over quality. It's not cheap but food was excellent. Cod was superb and portions plentiful.I had a curry sauce which might not be to everyone's liking as bit more Indian than chip shop. Staff serving are polite and quick. Well done all.

We've previously been here when on holiday last year and it was amazing. Today, on holiday again, I picked up food for my family (three of us coeliacs) and whilst the fish was ok, the chips were horrendous. I should have taken a picture but we were all starving. It looked like they'd forgotten to cook enough gluten free chips and then had to spilt a large chips bewtween all three of us even though we'd ordered one large and two regular. Literally a small handful each and mostly all tiny hard shards. Really really fuming as I'd spent over £50 on four meals!! Also, we'd pre ordered online, which I thought would mean the food would be ready at our time slot. Nope, they hadn't started cooking it. The bloke in front of us was twenty minutes early for his time slot, but they still cooked his food first. Made no sense whatsoever. Don't even bother pre ordering, actually, don't even bother going here! Was looking forward to coming here a couple of times this week, but won't ever return now.

Been to Fraser's fish and chips twice now while down in Penzance for the day. Situated along the promenade next to the amusements it's a busy chip shop. Parking can be found along the front if you're very lucky. But it's only a 15 minute walk from the town centre. They have those annoying self service touch screens that never make life that easy, although you could probably order directly with the counter staff. On both occasions I've been there the wait is very long. Not much space to wait inside if it's wet out. The waiting for the food is the killer for me. It takes so long. Both times I've been stood there for over 20 minutes. Also they never put enough salt and vinegar on and you can't do it yourself. Food comes in a nice looking paper bag and food in nice boxes. Chips always nice, never really greasy. Battered sausage and fishcakes nice too. Had the curry sauce last time and that was the worst I've ever had. Tasted gravy like and was very salty to taste Trouble is if you want fish and chips in Penzance during the day Fraser's are the only one's open all day in Penzance, so it's Fraser's or nothing. If I went again I'd take my own salt and vinegar down, would I recommend...we'll give it a go 😏

Extremely rude and arrogant woman serving people were asking for chips with peas on. Instead, she gave them tubs and said extremely rudely and abruptly, "we put it in tubs because if you burn yourself, you were not liable." The chips were so expensive £5.50 for a so-called large chips, I sent the picture to my daughter, who managed a chip shop for 3 years, she said mum that's not a large that's a regular box" and one box served two children so no definitely not a large, I paid £11 for chips that did 4 kids 🤦‍♀️ the curry sauce was absolutely vile it was like gravy with spice added, definitely not curry sauce. Won't ever go back there it was terrible. The fish was meant to be fresh from Newlyn, except the fish was old and really didn't taste fresh. It tasted far too fishy to be fresh that day, anyone who's ever been sea fishing or had fish caught the same day will tell you a fish that's fresh has only it's taste it doesn't have a fishy odour or taste as such.

We are both regulars and local. My wife wrote a review last week after a disappointing experience so we visited today and used a voucher given to us by the company. The staff and service was excellent as always. Thank you. The hot was hot, unlike last week so that was good. My wife's fish was both small, very thin, overcooked and small. My fish was nice but definitely small. The chips were absolutely tasteless. Never had such bland chips. Since the start of the summer holidays we have noticed the portions are smaller and the quality not as good. Normally the fish and chips from Fraser's are excellent. The last two visits have been disappointing and the food overall poor. We have in the past recommended Fraser's to many people. We cannot in all honesty do that any more. Fraser’s did not disappoint, the queue outside told me how popular the place was. The staff were so polite, having a laugh with me regarding my strong accent. I visit penzance at least twice a year and since we stay round the corner we have always gone to Frazers at least once per visit as it was so good. I just got a large cod and large chips today and it was terrible. It cost £18 which is a lot more than it did but I wouldn't mind if the quality was the same however the food was what you would expect from a below average chippie costing half the price. Firstly the fish didn't seem large but quite small. It was cooked really badly., none of the batter was chispy it was soggy and seemed poorly cooked and just fell off in chunks. The chips cost over £5 and were completely different from what they used to be. They were smaller and more regular size7 and seemed machine cut. They were also soggy and limp and not at all chispy as they used to be. They also tasted odd almost as if the oil has been sitting around over Christmas. A horrible over priced experience my son and I had been looking forward to. From being a go to place we would visit on every visit to penzance based on this experience I think I will not go again I am posting this review as I think people need to be aware of the huge drop off in quality and hopefully it will make the owners take action Very sad Edit The manager kindly sent me a £20 gift token to use on a future meal in the hope it would be better. We got a takeaway over Easter and the food was back to its usual standard. So hopeful it was just a one off bad experience due to the Xmas holidays. I have altered my rating after my latest visit.

Staff were really friendly though - not always the most relaxed environment working in a hot and busy chippy, but they were all really cool-headed and up for a laugh. Also, they could not do enough to cater for us. One of our party was overheard looking for an option suitable to their diet/intolerance and the kind girl mentioned they could do something not on the menu which they did there and then. Really good. Shame there’s no seating, but the ordering screens are really novel in a chippy in my experience and it’s good to see tech being embraced and speeding the process up for all. Highly recommended on the service alone, and the chips - the main attraction let’s be honest - are great.

But then modern living took over and the all-day chippie arrived, closing at 8 in the evening. But what if you're hungry after 8....? Frasers is away from the harbour in Penzance heading west. My accommodation was in that direction, so it was very welcome nosh and the quality tasted great, even though the last haddock of the day was on the pilchard side of a sizeable meal. At 20.02, and a half, exited the shop with boxed up hot produce. All in all a satisfying experience.

The portion sizes were Extreamly small and the price is extortionate for the portion sizes. The food quality was good just simply not enough for the prices! Clearly charge a fortune and expect hoilday makers to pay, but as a local we won't be returning.

Freshly cooked so a short wait that is absolutely worth it. The fish was perfection, the batter was spot on for thickness and taste. Chips........I nearly went back for more, but lardy pants enough already. The staff are friendly and courteous. My go to place, always.

You get what you pay for. Yes these fish and chips are expensive. But quality. Decent fish and chips. Mushy peas and curry sauce are quality. Well worth the visit. Would return.

One of, if not the best fish and chips. My wife has a wheat allergy so cant eat the batter or anything that has been in contact with batter. Plus she hates fish. So thank you Frasers for doing wonderful gluten free menu with your chicken and onion rings, and now after 4 years i can enjoy your amazing fish and chips. Pure heaven. Plus you are cheaper than most takeaways. Keep frying. We love you. ❤️

Awesome food. This was the best I've had in a while. Chips and fish were cooked excellently and great tasting. I love the fact that catch of the day goes onto the board.

I had a lovely fish and chips here, however £20 for a large fish and chips is expensive. When did takeaways get more expensive than pubs and restaurants?

A very nice small shop. We ordered hake, haddock, large chips, and mushy peas. Plentyful for two people. The fishes are fresh, crispy, not oily, and nicely seasoned. The staffs are nice and friendly. Would recommend!

We saved a visit here for the last day of a weeks holiday. I wish now we'd gone sooner so we could have gone more than once!! It was fantastic. From the great quality of the food, to the warm friendly service, I can't fault a thing. We found it to be great value, the tapas we had was a good size, and everything was beautifully presented and very tasty. We went on a Thursday evening in October and it was fairly busy, so I'd book if you can.

The food was nice but there was no prices on the menu we ordered 4 fish and chips and 3 soft drinks and a coffee when we paid it was just under £90 for 4 of us, bit of a shock, won't be hurrying back at those prices

Last time the large fish, chips and curry sauce very good. Today what a difference. Large fish was not worth £8.50, skinny( more like a flat fish) and nearly broke my tooth on the chips so hard on the outside. Disappointed.

Clearly the website needs updating as they appear to be closed for the winter. Tried on Thursday 3rd October at 1pm and they were closed with all tables cleared away.

We stopped in for some chips as we needed a snack. Definitely worth a visit. We didn’t try anything else but there are some benches at the harbour to enjoy eating your chippy on your travels.
