We stopped by for breakfast. Firstly a cafe, craft shop and sweetshop in one so automatically a 5 circle review. But then fantastic and friendly service and great home cooked food. Sadly we couldn’t find room for cake so we took a selection of sweeties away with us. An absolute gem.

I have been following on Facebook for a while loving their food options shown. First time using Kitty's Tea Room: I had a conference to attend and wanting to pick something food before their opening time. They were really accommodating, changing their start time earlier for me to be able to pick up before opening. Then there was the food: oh my, absolutely Scrumptious. I ordered breakfast, lunch and a sweet X2 of each and we loved every single bit. Thanks so much, will be back again!

First time back at Kitty's since re-opening and great to see the care and attention which has gone into re-opening with social distancing and safety in mind. Track and trace system in place, masks throughout, and plenty of space.I called and booked a table for lunch with my 2 year old daughter which we both enjoyed. Generous portions of home made food, great coffee, cake to finish and a couple of amazing looking takeaway cheesecake pots for the road! The menu looks excellent and we'll be making this a regular lunch and weekend breakfast spot.

Went for Christmas festive afternoon tea with husband and granddaughter on Wednesday. As pre-booked, table was already laid for us. Food was plentiful, delicious Christmassy themed sandwiches, cakes and scones. Large pot of replenishable tea. Too much to finish so boxed and brought some back home. Staff very friendly, pleasant atmosphere. Quirky place situated at rear of the wool shop (never knew it was there!). Will certainly be visiting again. Highly recommended.

Ten of us went here for lunch today. As there were 10 of us we let them know before. Very nice that they had set up tables for us. Staff were friendly welcoming. Took orders and explained about not being able to bring out all at one. Absolutely happy with this and the food was lovely. Milkshakes were all enjoyed. Well done for a great little quirky tea room off the beaten track.

Had a lovely time there last week as part of a themed birthday party. Us adults were made to feel welcome and the food was lovely and the staff were very good with the sometimes noisy kids, which left the adults to chat and just relax (if you can at a party of 10). Left with free cupcakes so everyone was happy!

Had a fantastic afternoon tea Baby Shower for my daughter yesterday and it exceeded our expectations. The table and room were decorated beautifully with table accessories, baby balloons and even a thoughtful gift for the mum to be! And the food was gorgeous, everything was homemade and delicious and the uneaten cakes (we had so much food) were boxed up for us to take away. I definitely recommend Kitty’s for a special tea party

In the process of buying in the wool shop, noticed the tearoom at the back. Thinking we would have a modest soup for lunch, were offered a menu that far exceeded our expectations. Not sure what to expect I ordered Eggs Royale and my wife Jacket potato with bacon, Brie and cranberry filling, both came with salad. What a treat!

We are regular visitors to Kitty's, and have never been disappointed. The staff are super-friendly, food is fairly priced, and always good quality. Decor is a little quirky, which adds character. The owner bakes all her own cakes, and always has a generous selection.Portions are generous, ambience is good. Being at the back of the wool shop hides this gem away, but it's well worth finding. Treat yourself !What's not to like !!

Just got back from KTT tearoom. So disappointed!! We have wanted to visit for a long time but have never managed to get there until today. Not sure we will be returning! Initially it was great! Lovely decor and a lovely vibe as it was lively, even though it was only half full. The waitress took our order immediately and was friendly. Then it all went downhill. We waited and waited for our food and then my meal came out and then my husband’s toast which went with his meal (the toast was already cold). Then nothing else arrived! So my husband said to eat mine so it didn’t go cold. So I ate my entire meal and his still didn’t arrive! We weren’t the only ones that this happened to! There was another table where the same thing was happening. I finished my meal and then my husband’s meal appeared! The poor waitress looked mortified! I felt so sorry for her! Clearly the kitchen were too slow and not organised as meals were randomly coming out! If I go out to eat with my husband, then I expect to eat at the same time!! Someone needs to sort the kitchen service out as it is slow and haphazard!! The poor waitress had to placate the customers waiting and it clearly wasn’t her fault! It was such a shame as the food was ok, but the kitchen service appalling! Not sure we will return!

Small room at the side of a private house (garage conversion?) and tacked on to the back of a quaint wool shop. Very little parking. Outside toilet. Time-warp shabby-chic furniture and decor (more shabby than chic) and like stepping back in time. Seems to be popular with local knitting groups and elderly people.

I visited with my sister for a Harry Potter themed afternoon tea special. The cost was £15 per head and it was terrible. The sandwiches were ok but the cakes were dry and stale. The cakes were clearly not freshly baked, the sponge on my cupcake was dry and the icing was crispy as though it had been left out for a couple of hours. The rock cake was indeed a rock! The chocolate pot was lumpy and had a strange consistency and unpleasant flavour. The cheese and onion pasty was said to be homemade but looks like something you could buy from Tescos. I was not offered any hot water to make my hot chocolate and I do not drink tea or coffee so had to make do with water. I spoke to the very young girl serving us but she just scurried away with our plates with no comment. I placed a comment on the facebook page noting my displeasure for them to be removed and the website updated so that you can no longer leave your comments or reviews. This I find is most disappointing when most people rely on reviews. Noting that all positive comments had been left untouched. The owner never tried to message me to apologise or make contact in any way and my message was polite but honest. Such a shame really, you may see lots of amazing comments on facebook but how many negative do we also not see. I would recommend The Tea Bar, Valleries and Tilney hall for a fantastic tea experience for the same sort of cost in much more pleasant surroundings.

Gave me a normal cheddar cheese panni instead of a vegan one then totally denied it. As soon as I bit into it I knew there had been a mistake so queried it and they said it was vegan so I asked to see packaging. They said I couldn’t as it came from a wholesaler and they’d throw it away. I told them I wasn’t going to eat it and could I have it boxed up to take away to get someone else to look at it and the lady very quickly took it away and put it in the bin. Then showed me on her iPad the cheese she brought was from Morrisons meaning she lied to me earlier saying it came from a wholesaler . I emailed them when I got home and after a week I still had know reply I emailed agin to get a very abrupt reply. I will never ever go there again

I took my two kids in half term. I booked a table on the morning we wanted to visit. When we arrived we were seated and we only waited about 5 minutes for our order to taken. We had two kids Cheshire Cat platters for the kids and I ordered a cheese and onion chutney sandwich with a coke. At £2.25 for a can of coke with a glass is a little steep. The cheese sandwich was nice and the kids platters looked fab but there was more sweets than crisps or fruit (a small shot glass of each) sandwiches were nice and so was the cupcake. The sweets were quite hard and chewy. I treated the kids to a little bag of the pick and mix sweets available to buy. They ate a few in the car and again these were too hard and chewy (jelly hearts and fried eggs etc). Overall left feeling a little overpriced for average food but a nice setting.

I ordered a vegan panni and when I bit into it it definitely was normal cheddar cheese. I went to the counter to double check and the girl said it definitely was vegan. I asked to see the wrapper but was told I couldn't as it was brought wholesale and then been put into a tub and the wrapper thrown away. I said it was normal cheddar cheese and wouldn't be eating it and went and sat back down . Another lady came over and told me the vegan cheese was brought from Morrisons ( not sure why I was told by the first girl it was from wholesalers) . I asked to have the panni boxed up to take away and have it looked into being vegan and she took it from the table and threw it away. I was very upset by the whole situation. When I got home I sent the owner a message telling her about this and after 5 day still no reply so had to send another . She said they serve the vegan cheese regularly and this is the first compliment. My point is if I was served vegan cheese I wouldn't be complaining.

On looking for a venue for an afternoon tea baby shower event for my friend, I came across this place. Even though I have lived less than 5 minutes away from here, I never knew it existed until I came across it on a list of tearooms in Basingstoke on tripadvisor! The staff were brilliant on booking, plus dealing with the extra communication from me. On the day our reserved table had been set up and they allowed me to add a couple of extra details to the table to make it a bit more personal for my friend. We all had the Kitty's afternoon tea option. Everyone loved that it all came out on small individual cake stands for each person, the sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the cheesecake (I had the Aero one!) was just delicious. On the day the staff were brilliant. They were very well organised and prepared for dealing with the number of us (I had booked for 11), they were lovely and friendly, but not too overbearing, so leaving us to have a bit of a chatter. The only down side is the parking, which is very limited. However this is clearly mentioned on their facebook page and there is very close alternative free parking. I could see there were fruit shoots behind the counter, which being a mum I take as a sign they are child friendly. I will probably be back in the near future with my 6 year old so I can try another delicious cheesecake!

You arrive at an unprepossessing exterior - a detached house on a busy suburban crossroads (but with easy parking on its drive so fine for children and those with reduced mobility). You enter its... um garage.... but wait, it's not a garage, it's a bright and crafty wool shop. You walk further into the er garage... which leads to the back of the garage.... but this in fact, is not the back of a garage, it's a sweet shop. And if you care to venture through the sweetshop... this leads you to the back of the back of the garage which in fact is not the back of the back of a garage but... a tearoom!Yes, you do feel to some extent like you're sitting in an extended (but properly converted with windows etc) garage - but the tea room area is nicely painted, prettily done out with spotty oilcloth tablecloths etc and feels cosy and cheerful. I was greeted in both shop and tea room by two lovely ladies with smiling faces and a friendly greeting.I had Earl Grey Tea and a slice of strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake. The cheesecake was home-made and very good: very creamy and fruity all at once. (I thought the slice was a little on the small size but it was rich so enough really). Well done on this enterprising little place. It's surprising and quirky and homely and all the better for it.

Have been several times now and cheesecake has always been my first choice , Kitty's always has 3-4 cheesecake's to try , the last visit included the flavours Peanut butter , Ferro Roche , Snickers and Jammy dodger , each slice is a decent size and could be shared between two . My husband and I have also shared Kitty's afternoon tea , the sandwiches and clotted cream scones where freshly prepared and again where decent sized portions . Kitty's is cleverly placed at the back of the wool shop in Pack Lane , and I believe the tea room does have knit and coffee meets , you also have to pass through a mini sweet shop full of the old style sweet jars and a fudge counter .Unusually and welcomed was Kitty's discount voucher's for returned visit's , which I do not believe other tea rooms in the area distribute , I will be returning without the need for discount vouchers but this is a added bonus . All in all a nice little find , only down side is the lack of parking .

I visited today with my Mum and 8 month old son following good reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. What a lovely little tearoom, in a unique setting. You'd be hard pushed to discover it from the roadside, as it is tucked away at the back of a knitters treasure trove, full of lots of wool and knitting patterns and anything else and avid Knitter or Crocheter could ever need. The tearoom is bright, clean and tidy and beautifully decorated, I particularly liked the bunting. There's not many tables, but we found a nice little corner by the counter. The lady serving was pleasant and helpful, getting a highchair for me and heating my Baby's dinner without any fuss. There was a specials board and an extensive lunch menu. It was tricky to decide what to have...so much choice. In the end, both my Mum and I had the Quiche Lorraine. It was served with a salad and crisps. And it was so tasty and delicious! I had a cup of tea and my Mum had a Latte, which she said was really good. Then for pudding we simply could not resist trying some homemade cheesecake. I had the Jammie Dodger cheesecake and my Mum had After Eight Mint Cheese cake. Both were amazing! And generous sized portions....I struggled to finish mine (But it didn't beat me in the end!!)/ Our bill came to £20, which for a Main, Pudding and hot drink each I thought was fairly reasonable for a little tearoom. All in all, a lovely little place to go for a nice lunch. We didn't feel rushed and my nosy 8 month old son wasn't a problem to any of the ladies serving us. I'd happily return and would like to try their afternoon tea one day!

Visited here lunchtime today to meet with a friend. Bizarrely found by walking though a wool shop into a sweet shop into the tea shop.We ordered a 2 tier tea £9.50 each for any sandwich, a scone ,tea and a slice of cake. For £1 extra we upgraded to a panini. The brie cranberry and bacon panini was hot and tasty..my scone was warm and my banana cake was fresh from the oven. My friend had tea loaf. Friendly staff (sisters) quaint clean decor and they even do afternoon tea for children. Will definitely go again.I even bought a slice of crunchie and a slice of mint cheesecake home .

I have been to this tea room several times and ALWAYS had excellent service. The staff are attentive, not over-bearing and have impressive 'knit' knowledge, as well as persuasive cake selling techniques! Loved it x

Situated close to the traffic lights at the junction of Pack Lane and Kempshott Lane . There are a few parking spaces at the front . You have to walk through the wool shop to the rear of the building and there you will find this little gem.We walked from Oakley with the intention of having lunch there. They have a very extensive menu and the food is freshly prepared to order. The quiche was excellent which came with a garnish of salad and crisps as do the pannini's .There is a large selection of cakes which look so tempting you just have to try one or two !!Good range of coffees, teas, milkshakes etc.The staff are really friendly , great service and the place is spotless. It feels very cosy there. We we certainly go there again.

Hidden away behind the wool shop on Pack Lane, you would never really know this existed. I found it on Tripadvisor and decided to take my daughter along for a treat after finishing school. Pretty, clean little tea room with a better-than-average selection of cakes and biscuits including gluten-free options. Nice menu which includes afternoon teas, cream teas and a good selection of food and drinks for children which is unusual in a cafe. We had slices of coffee cake and gluten-free vanilla cake with a decaf mocha and a chocolate babyccino with marshmallows. The slice of vanilla cake wasn't particularly generous but as it was extremely sweet the portion was fine. The coffee cake was a bit more substantial with plenty of cream and my fussy 6yr old daughter finished every bit. At £10 for 2 hot drinks and 2 pieces of cake this isn't somewhere I would go too regularly but more an occasional treat. We bought some chocolate tablet from the candy shop on our way out but when we tried it later that evening we were disappointed to find that it was actually quite stale fudge. Tablet is granular, crumbly and brittle whereas this was chewy and soft. My daughter was happy though as she also got a pretty ball of wool from the shop to make some pom poms! The staff were friendly and the service good so definitely worth a try if you're in the Kempshott area.

My wife and I dropped in with our daughter and fiancé. It's a tea room and shop attached to someone's house. My wife and daughter were impressed with the wool and craft shop attached. I liked the old fashioned sweets they had as well. But we also went in the tea shop. Had a cream tea - it was excellent. Service excellent too.

I noticed the sign outside the Pack Lane Wools shop advertising the tea room which is located at the back of the wool shop in its own annexe. We decided to pop in for lunch (with kiddies) and the food was fab! They have a range of great sandwiches, bacon sandwiches, toasties etc with door stop bread! All was presented beautifully and was really nice food.We also had coffee (lots of options available) along with cakes – again lots of options and all homemade. We were made to feel welcome and not rushed out plus there is a bit more room compared to other local tea rooms. Drawing and crayons are provided for the children and a children’s lunch option too. There is also a sweet shop so the kids can get some sweets on the way out but there are also some old favourites for us adults too.We will absolutely be going back.

I went for afternoon tea with my sister. The food was presented very well on a three tiered plate. There were sandwiches, a selection of cakes and two scones each with jam and cream. We had to ask for a box to take away as there was too much to eat. It was all delicious and will definitely visit again soon. Also love the fact you can buy sweets on your way out for later! Kids liked that to when we got home!

Discovered this coffee shop on Facebook and have been wanting to give it a try for a while, so popped in for a quick business catch up with a colleague yesterday. This little coffee shop is at the back of Pack Lane Wool - a little annex attached to a private residence very close to the traffic lights. Easy to miss. They have a light, bright atmosphere and the ladies are very friendly. A refreshing change compared to another nearby coffee shop. They are child friendly too - a stocked bookshelf, crayons, colouring activities etc. The coffee is freshly ground and we enjoyed our lattes, cappuccinos, and cakes. They also offer a selection of toasted sandwiches. We had a positive experience and look forward to returning soon.I would suggest that they should put signage up outside on the pavement to attract passing traffic, and consider offering free wifi to attract more people - if local business people know they can do some work from a table in a coffee shop it will be a win-win.
