Just visited here for coffee/cake. So impressed by two members of staff - one male, one female. A great team. Both very efficient, courteous and respectful to all customers throughout - in spite of being extremely busy throughout my visit. Would highly recommend the flapjack - delicious

This used to be really lovely but the staff have changed and a lazy rather loud abrasive manager seems to have change the whole atmosphere. We have seen her sitting down or chatting to her friends while leaving the lovely younger member of staff to deal with everything! We are regular customers here but are no longer feel we are treated with any polite service, or feel valued as customers. Rye Kino we can't fault, its much better and is always professional. Really sad to write this but its the only way to let you know what a difference one person can have on the business.

An absolute gem, you will not regret visiting here. It gets very busy alongside film showings but the staff are friendly and the venue is tiny. All round great facilities and one of our favourite places to visit to see films and find a tasty treat, or two. Sausage rolls, muffins, and cakes galore! Lovely.

What an unusual and delightful place for a light lunch. All very tasty and nicely done, albeit somewhat slow on the service side, but no complaints and all very good.

I just took my daughters to the Kino Hawkhurst for lunch expecting to order a panini but really wanting a salad! We found everything we could have wished for. I had the most delicious and large Pear, Walnut and blue cheese salad served with balsamic and olive oil dressing. We shared a mezze plate of artichoke, delicious salamis, olives and feta with hummus and pittas and lastly a wonderful warm quiche and fresh leaves. We sat outside in the warm sunshine and the lovely girls in there were so welcoming and friendly. The food obviously prepared with love and care. It is an absolute gem of a place and we will be returning. Thank you so much!

We normally visit the Kino for the cinema, but we stopped there for coffee and cake and our 2 small dogs were allowed in as well. The Cappuccino's were really lovely.

We always have a coffee before going into the cinema as it is a good place to sit, and meet your friends, before the film begins. The staff are very friendly and the coffee is good. There are also snacks available. You don't have to be going to see a film because the cafe is good at any time of the day. We've had snack lunches when we have not been going to the cinema and the food choice is very good.

This cafe is a great place for a snack or just a drink whether you go to the ciema or not. There is a good choice of snacks on the menu and there is also a good choice of drinks, either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Your food and drinks are served by friendly staff. You can even take your drinks with you into the cinema. There's plenty of seatin, at socially distanced tables, both inside and outside.

We always have a good coffee when we visit the cinema. Many just go for light snacks and a drink and meetup inside or on terrace with friends.

Having just visited the cafe of Kino Rye we sought out this Kino as a breakpoint in our journey back home from a weekâs holiday in Kent. Plan was for a quick coffee and maybe a sandwich. No one was on the cafe counter for the first 4-5 minutes so we waited for service, and let an existing customer chase up their order first (more in a moment). I tried to order hot drinks but the staff member directed me to take a seat and said she would be out to take our order. Around 15m later a different staff member took our order. After another 15m, and chasing twice (and hearing another customer ask for takeaway cups due to the time their hot drinks were taking, and them having to request sugar and milk), the sweet element of our order (cream tea) arrived⊠before the hot drinks or quiche we had ordered. Again, no sugars. And despite making clear that the hot chocolate was for the clearly visible toddler, and asking for it to have cold milk added to chill it, it was served piping hot in a tall glass latte mug. The food was unremarkable (salad drowned in balsamic glaze) but the thing that stands out is the dismissive rudeness of the older member of staff and the poor communication/ training of the younger. Our bill was wrong and it took 2 uncomfortable conversations to resolve. When I fed back that we were unhappy with the experience and service, I was told in no uncertain terms by the older staff member that she knew what she was doing as she had been doing it for thirteen years. If today is anything to go by, thatâs thirteen years of very poor and abrasive customer service. Weâll stick with the staff at Rye Kino next time we want a break.

This is a great, little cafe to eat, whether you are going to the cinema or not. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife is Gluten Free and there's is usually something for her to eat as a snack meal. If she doesn't want a meal, there's usually a Gluten Free cake she can have with her coffee. As well as seating inside, there's also an exterior balcony area (which, at this time of the year, looks quite festive).

This is a very good place for a light meal and drinks, whether or not you actually go into the cinema (if you do go into the cinema, you can take your drinks with you). You are given a welcoming greeting when you arrive and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife is Gluten Free and they go out of their way to make sure that there is a snack she can eat. The food is well presented and delicious; as are the cakes.

A Digital cinema that is a cut above the rest. It is well located in the village centre, in a beautifully converted historic building. The bar serves a wide verity of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks alongside a wide selection of confectionery to enjoy with the film. A beer and olives go down nicely whilst sitting the the extremely comfortable and spacious cinema.

We love the kino, amazing coffee & cake, and lovely staff. Great improvement has been made to panini and light lunch options. Staff always really helpful and kind... It's so good to go to a cafe where people have been trained to make coffee properly! However, me and hubs think it's mad they don't sell or allow popcorn?!!? Missing a great profit margin there for the sake of a little less hoovering - but apart from that, amazing!!!

Most staff are ok but others are far to up themselves and snobby. The food and drink is very expensive and not in the Price range of the normal Hawkhurst people. The cinema is ok but seating is very uncomfortable and the fact that your not allowed to eat popcorn is just ridiculous. Popcorn is a part of the whole cinema experience. They also need to stop showing such snobby films and focus on modern cinema being that they call themselves a new wave of digital technology!!

As well as being an absolute gem of a cinema (without nasty buckets of popcorn or vast vats of coke), the seats are comfy and the legroom generous in the auditorium, the service in the cafe is excellent and the coffee and cakes are fab! Nice quality wine is also served, which you can take in to the film with you of an evening, and there is a good variety of sweets and ice cream on offer too, as well as nuts and olives. Kids' Club on a Saturday and Sunday morning is great and well attended. The cafe also has an attractive covered seating area outside at the back, where you can sit in the sun and it's a great meeting place for coffee and a pannini with a friend even if you're not seeing a film. A great asset to the village.

Great food as always and the staff, went above and beyond sorting lunch out due to a limited menu whilst they have some work done on the building. They made some really tasty tacos with rice and vegan chilli. Super tasty and filling... But I did find room for some vegan coffee cake đ Yes a little banging from the building work, but not that distracting, I still managed to get some writing done whilst eating.
