Enchanting country pub with good quality food. I stopped for lunch after a trip to Bodenham Lake Nature Reservr nearby. Good choice of beers, high quality pub style food and friendly service. On a lovely day the garden area is stunning.

We were holidaying nearby & we didn’t fancy cooking. We had 3 courses & all 6 of us chose differently & all enjoyed. It’s good pub food done well with a friendly service. I particularly enjoyed the nightjar local stout & spotted dick. A very pleasant evening alfresco in their beer garden with friends.

You have to go a long way to find a pub doing traditional pub food. Pubs these days seem to have gone down the gastro root, what a pleasure to find a place doing pie and chips, gammon and chips etc. it was a lovely pub lunch and we will return.

Came here from a recommendation from a friend, I must say the food was absolutely amazing, My friend had the Gammon Eggand chips, 2 huge pieces of gammon 2 eggs and chips, And I had the 8oz steak, served with chips, mushrooms, onion rings and peas, absolutely fabulous, steak was cooked to perfection, the gammon was superb, And to follow sticky toffee pudding with custard. Mmmm lovely, Will definately be going again.

Great roadside pub. Found by chance as in area for Herefordshire Art week. Plenty of indoor seating and large grassed garden area with tables and number of wooden pods meaning all year round outdoor option. Food was traditional basic pub fare with great portion size and very reasonable prices. Local beers from Wye Valley Brewery available is just a wonderful bonus. Owners were very welcoming we will certainly revisit when next nearby

Must admit, we only live 6 miles away from this pub, and we had never visited it before today. The restaurant part has recently been converted, and what a fantastic job they have done too. We didn't book a table, but luckily because this was the first weekend of opening, not a lot of people will have known about it's new refurbishment , so we got one easily. Two of us had the Sunday roast beef, which was fabulously cooked, with generous amounts of meat and vegetables, one had the gluten free fish was also delicious, and the the creamy chicken with new potatoes. We will definitely be back, abd would recommend it sincerely.

Such a comfortable, welcoming place to stay for the night. Breakfast was really delicious, the white table cover and beautiful cloth napkins were a lovely touch!

Beautiful setting, great service, amazing food. Just lacked atmosphere as it was quiet and not very busy. Would highly recommend though and would certainly visit again!

Very pleasantly surprised by the food here, so I felt compelled to write a review. We have popped in quite a few times for a pint, but never for food until yesterday. The atmosphere in the pub is very sweet and cosy with fires going when it's chilly. Good real ales on tap and the bar staff have always been friendly. The food though... we were very impressed! Really tasty, properly comforting pub food, all home made and with local ingredients too! 4 of us eating, two with quite specific dietary requirements but were catered for really well. This was the only place in Kington where we could find a good selection of gluten free options! The chef came out of the kitchen to check everything was okay, talking us through some of the dishes as we were choosing and ask how the food was. He seems genuinely passionate about his food, taking pride in how he tweaks the recipes each time - this was lovely to see. If I was to nitpick, the dining room doesn't have quite the same cosy atmosphere as the main part of the pub, so some tweaking is required here. That being said, this place is truly a real gem that is worth your visit and we will definitely be eating here next time we're in town.
